4021  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: May 18, 2020, 01:17:16 PM
In my opinion Test cricket will also be resume but stadiums will remain empty. I think from now on all kinds of sports events will be conducted without the crowd. German football league has started and they are playing in empty stadium. This system will prevail untill a cure is out, which might take more than a year from now on.

This is a really good sign for sports enthusiasts like us we can now again watch our favourite players playing our favourite sports on our TV's.

If you are not one of those football hooligans, I don't see a valid reason for not staying at home and watching the match on TV. With 5 million people infected across the globe, this pandemic is not a joke. It is the responsibility of the government to push economy back on track. But that doesn't mean that they are going to allow tens of thousands of fans to crowd around in the cricket stadiums, where the average distance between two fans will be somewhere in the vicinity of 2cm.
4022  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: AIR DROPS ! wasting time or not? on: May 18, 2020, 01:11:26 PM
Airdrops is not a thing anymore. Before you get a decent amount of airdrop you need many referrals first and that what matters to them anymore. Gone are the days that the airdrops is much profitable than bounties. Airdrops is such a waste of time nowadays and most are just shitcoins or just a scam ones.

Well.. I agree. But then, for a relatively new user here in Bitcointalk, what are the options left? If he want to collect some cryptocurrencies, what are the avenues that are still open? Give-aways are not common nowadays. Bounty campaigns are mostly scam. And now airdrops are also proving to be a waste of time. So my question is, what should a new user do, in case he want to collect some crypto?
4023  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 18, 2020, 01:05:04 PM
I think the second option is the one that ICC and the other boards will be okay with. I still do not understand what do they mean with the first option. It is practically impossible to ask everyone in the crowd for 14 days quarantine,. The fire one is not possible.

Exactly. For the ICC, most of the revenues come from TV rights and sponsorship. Gate collection represents only a very small fraction. Therefore I don't even understand what they are trying to do here. Just for 2% or 3% increase in revenue, are they going to put the lives of tens of thousands of people in danger? Is it that difficult to conduct the matches with zero crowd?
4024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New exchange tokens worth investing on??? on: May 18, 2020, 12:59:18 PM
I am a bit reluctant here. Exchanges represent perhaps the most unstable component in the cryptocurrency ecosystem. During the last 2-3 years, we have seen huge number of exchanges closing down, with some of them being exit scams. In several cases, well reputed exchanges such as Mt Gox and Cryptopia closed down all of a sudden, resulting in huge losses to the clients. Now how can we trust these new exchanges, at this point?
4025  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Las Vegas Mayor Wants to Re-open Casinos. Thoughts? on: May 18, 2020, 12:53:58 PM
The powerful casino owners do not want to stop the pandemic, however hehehehe. They only want the mayor to declare a reopening of their casinos and risk the people to get sick of the corona virus hehe

Well.. my question is why blame just the casino owners? We also expect the public to behave responsibly, right? Even if the casinos are open, the gamblers should take stock of the situation in their respective areas and control their urges until it becomes safe to participate in such activities. And until then, there is always the option of gambling online, with the numerous digital casinos.

They will have preventive measures when casinos are going to be open so they say.  Its the pandemic problem that we are about to provide solutions and one problem that has to be solved is the economy and to make the people around Neveda survive because there has to be something to work on so people will earn and survive this lockdown.

Do you really believe any of that? I don't know how social distancing can even be applied in these casinos. And another major risk factor, that everyone tend to ignore is the fact that the vast majority of the clients are either middle-aged or elderly. Obviously we can't shut down the entire economy for 12 months. But right now, I would say that it is too early to open the casinos.
4026  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Indiscipline and Greed on: May 18, 2020, 12:47:55 PM
I don't agree with the topic. OP treats indiscipline and greed as different parameters, when the reality is that both of them are closely interlinked. In most cases, indiscipline results from greed. The player may have defined stop-loss and profit booking targets earlier. But once he gets carried away as a result of greed, these targets are no longer maintained. And in most cases, this results in complete financial ruin for the player.
4027  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: May 18, 2020, 12:40:06 PM
All kinds of sports events are about to re-start again, What is the future of Test-cricket in the current situation?

Is it at all possible to protect the players and audience for such a long time if the corona vaccine cannot be discovered in near future? It seems Test-cricket board doesn't care much about Gallery supporters.

Meanwhile, according to the new decision, the T20 World Cup is going to be held in October, but it is Short-term game, hope there will be nothing problems and The ICC is taking this decision after ensuring security, maybe the ODI game will start soon.

Guys what's your perspective? what do you think about Test match?

I'll be overjoyed if international cricket starts within the next few weeks. It was really depressing for the last two months, with no live action to watch. But that said, I am really concerned about the safety of the players. Obviously one of the teams need to travel by flight, and under current circumstances it doesn't look like a good option. Even now, large number of air travelers are testing positive for the virus.
4028  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SCAM ICOs, what we can do? on: May 18, 2020, 12:34:09 PM
The ICO is dead, any project implementing the ICO at the current stage is Scam. So never waste your time looking for good ICOs in this market, go to major exchanges and participate in their IEO. Those are good and safe projects for us to participate and invest

One advantage with the IEO is that the token is already listed in the exchange. Unlike the case with many of the ICOs, we don't need to worry whether it is going to get listed or not. And since the entire IEO process is conducted within the exchange, we don't need to worry about the liquidity as well. But still, if the project is not good enough, it won't be sustainable in the long term.
For that reason, we should choose large exchanges to join IEO. Large exchanges will select projects carefully, just like Binance. Projects exchanged by the IEO are the best and potential ones

Well.. major exchanges such as Binance do have a very tough screening criteria for new IEOs. But at the same time, the investor is advised to do his part of analysis and research. At the time of the IEO, the project may be having solid fundamentals and plans. But what will happen, if the promoters vanish with all the money that is collected during the IEO process? In such cases, even the screening by exchanges won't work.
4029  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 18, 2020, 12:28:14 PM
The decision has been taken at the ICC board meeting last Friday shows that they have three options for the upcoming T-20 World Cup.

1) The first option allows crowds with a 14-days quarantine as per the T20 global schedule.
2) The second is that there will be no spectators in any stadium during the T-20 World Cup.
3) The third option is to move the tournament to 2022.

Source: News18

How can they move the tournament to 2022? We already have another T20 World Cup edition scheduled for next year. And I simply don't understand the first option. Crowd, with 14-day quarantine? What do they mean? Are they going to quarantine 30,000 people per match for two weeks? This is the most ridiculous suggestion I have heard since the start of the pandemic. Have they completely lost it?
4030  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Safest trading strategy on: May 18, 2020, 12:22:10 PM
I somewhat agree with you. But then, how much do you trust these tokens such as USDT, USDC and DAI? They are not real cryptocurrencies, as the value is supposed to be held by someone other than the person who holds these tokens. Trust issues can arise and the numerous scandals that have surfaced in relation with these tokens are not helping the matters any further. The reputation of USDT has been tarnished as a result of the Bitfinex scandal.
4031  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: May 18, 2020, 12:16:08 PM
Well said. Based on what I observed, the migrants are the worst affected thanks to the poor implementation of the lockdown. He could have given them a headstart like the Bangladesh PM.

That would have been the worst idea. If the lockdown is announced after a headstart, then close to 150 million migrants would have rushed to the railway stations and bus terminals, resulting in thousands of deaths. By announcing the lockdown without a warning, the government avoided that. According to the experts, a 7 week complete lockdown (49 days) would have stopped the pandemic completely in India. However, poor implementation by 4-5 states (such as Maharashtra, Delhi, Gujarat, MP and WB), and the super-spreader event at Nizamuddin disrupted this plan.

4033  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US Presidential Election 2020 on: May 18, 2020, 12:04:47 PM
That is what the mainstream media has labeled him, similar to how CNN, CBS, NBC and ABC have labeled Trump as a personification of Hitler. However, Bernie has shown to be more reasonable than Hillary and Biden.

Also, Bernie is 78, Biden is 77. On relative age, they are similar.

As I stated earlier, Sanders was a much better candidate when compared to Hillary Clinton back in 2016. For that matter, anyone other than Hillary would have beaten Trump in a comprehensive manner. The Democrat established rigged the primaries in favor of Hillary, and the Sanders supporters retaliated by not voting for anyone. But this time that is not the case. Sanders has endorsed Biden. And from what I can see, Biden has been more successful in uniting the various voting blocks of Democrats (such as Afro-Americans, Hispanics, feminists, youth.etc).
4034  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Some good Dex Exchanges on: May 17, 2020, 02:10:51 PM
In the past I have used Etherdelta, Forkdelta and Idex. The main issue with all of them is the lack of liquidity. It was very difficult for me to convert some of my tokens to ETH, using these platforms. That said, the last time I used these DEX sites was almost two years ago. Now my friends are saying that the situation has improved a lot. And in particular, they seems to be quite impressed with Binance DEX.
4035  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC and Stock vs Oil price on: May 17, 2020, 02:03:40 PM
Somehow this is becoming a reality, stocks and crypto goes down and same in oil prices. Then all of a sudden BTC gets a slight increase and same goes to oil price, but not literally with stocks. This is just my opinion, but as far as I can see, these are really related with each other.

In the past, I have noticed a correlation between the stock market performance and the BTC exchange rates. But I don't think that there is any relation between oil prices and the Bitcoin exchange rate. I have checked the charts by overlaying these two, and I couldn't notice any such relation. But BTC exchange rates goes up whenever there is a spike in the stock market.
4036  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lockdown and eCommerce and increase in online payments = Bitcoin addoption on: May 17, 2020, 01:51:51 PM
I am yet to witness any such improvement here in India. As a part of the COVID relief package, the finance minister has said that incentives would be given for making digital payments more popular. But here, "digital payments" mean fiat payments using digital mode such as PayTM and PayPal and not cryptocurrency. Bitcoin is still not 100% legal here.
4037  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk Reveals How much Bitcoins he Hold on: May 17, 2020, 01:45:40 PM
Do you guys realy think a 40$ Billion Networth Guy Hold only 0.25BTC?

There are many billionaires such as Warren Buffet, who doesn't own any coins at all. What about that? There are some billionaires who have invested in Bitcoin, such as Winklevii and Michael Novogratz. There are also a few such as Buffet, who have refused to invest in Bitcoins. And then there is the third category comprised of people such as Musk, who have collected a few mBTC, just for fun.
4038  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: It seems like it's the end for bounties on: May 17, 2020, 01:38:46 PM
I am surprised that even now a lot of users are taking part in these bounty campaigns. And this is also one of the basic reasons why the bounty hunters are mistreated here. Even after getting conned multiple times, the users are still ready to participate in such campaigns. And this gives initiative to the scammers to dish out even more innovative scams.
4039  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mayor Of Las Vegas wants the whole city open, including casinos and stadiums on: May 17, 2020, 01:28:23 PM
Nevada has remained somewhat safe when compared to the other states. As of now, they have only around 6,000 cases when compared to the figure of 80,000 in California and 14,000 in Arizona. But if the authorities go ahead with their relaxation plans, then they may witness a spike in Nevada at a time when the number of new infections are going down in the other states.
4040  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: AIR DROPS ! wasting time or not? on: May 17, 2020, 01:22:29 PM
I think airdrop scam is 50% yes and 50% no, why do I say no? because I have felt the results of airdrop for example Airdrop Klay, OGN, Twt and solana and chz, I am the type of person who is careful and chooses airdrop, not all airdrops I do and only sure, although I have to complete a number of tasks
There are a lot of good airdrops in recent times, so if have knowledge and bounty ( airdrop) selection, I believe they will get a lot of profit from it. BTW don't waste time on airdrops from new projects, 99% of them are worthless

This may be a bit crazy. But at this point, I would still go for the airdrops even if 1% of them are paying good rewards. New users have very few options for getting some alts or tokens in their wallets. Bounty campaigns are not paying nowadays, and Bitcointalk signature campaigns are too few and far in between. Let's assume that a typical airdrop enrollment takes 2 minutes to complete. So doing 100 of them may take 3-4 hours. I would say that it is still better than doing the bounties and then remaining without payment.
