4042  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is bitcoin cross $15k in end of 2020 on: October 29, 2020, 04:53:41 PM
Get your hopes high, we have chances to reach new all time hogh for the bitcoin in this year since we are already near $14,000 and we have 2 months left in this 2020 so probably we can reach that high if the trend keep follows.
4043  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: India plans to introduce law to ban cryptocurrency trading on: October 29, 2020, 04:05:52 PM
The Indian government should realize bitcoin is a global currency before it is too late.  If he goes to ban cryptocurrencies, they will surely fall behind in technological terms.
I don't really think so! This falling behind in technological term is something we are just saying for making ourselves Happy. I mean if you see China it has banned cryptocurrencies for quite some time now and I don't see them lacking behind in technology in any way. I am obviously not in favour of the ban but the ban would also mean that India will still stress of digital ledger technology it's only not ready to use it for monetory purposes. Even in the draft committee report the makers were pretty positive on the technology. As I said only way and argument to bring a law for legalization of cryptocurrencies in India is the argument of free markets. Companies can try to put pressure on this government for lucrative tax revenues and maybe some foreign exchange.
Actually ban is not going to stop the users from using crypto currencies, China banned cryptos because they have some alternatives to give it to the people to make more money out of it while other developed countries to utilize the bitcoin usage by imposing high tax rates so these are really better than country like India banning it since there is no news that they are going to launch their CBDC so people will use the bitcoin even if it got banned and its only revenue loss to the government.
4044  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin ready for world wide 1 currency? on: October 29, 2020, 02:33:42 PM
I don't believe that bitcoin never can be ready to act as only currency in this world because look at the fee of a transaction now when the mempool gets little clog so how it is going to tackle all the transaction made in this world at a time. But we have thousands of other crypto as well in the market already so some of them can stand still from all those shit coins and better prove themselves to be a crypto for the future.
4045  Other / Off-topic / Re: The benefit of creating a good topic on: October 28, 2020, 05:36:00 PM
"Benefit" since I'm only going to say one even though there are more.
I haven't read anyone pointing this out but please tell me if someone already did and I'll lock this.

If we create a good topic, we are actually helping the forum earn more money through ads space. The more engaging it is, the more pages are created which also means another ad space. I don't know if each page is sold separately but I bet it's still beneficial even if it's not as advertisers would be more than happy to have their product be seen in multiple pages.

This is just my observation from the topics I made and the topics I follow.

.......
P.S. This is not an invitation to spam on threads and make them spam mega threads.
More pages on a thread means more revenue to the forum? Forum ads are not sold for each pages, there are definite.ad slots which are gets sold on auction basis.

Creating good topics are helpful for the users and importantly to the creator itself because they can make more merits.
4046  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: btc pending with high miner fee, for 9 hours on: October 28, 2020, 02:52:10 PM
It's not an opt-in rbf tx.... I already checked before i answered the op Wink
RBF was not chosen. https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/transaction/3d3ef01ae8af95f9ae82f8406eae3710f32685b891aa3a6c27e134a1f1a89409. Child pay for parents is last option if OP does not want to wait. If I was OP, I won't be in a hurry and that transaction will be confirmed soon (within today).
It seems the transaction was made into an exchange's wallet so its not possible to pay the fee from receiver end (correct me if I am wrong). Wink
4047  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: btc pending with high miner fee, for 9 hours on: October 28, 2020, 02:06:40 PM
Anything above 233 sats/byte is the fee required for faster transaction. If you have RBF enabled for your transaction better increase the fee or you may need to wait for few more hours to get it confirmed.
4048  Other / Meta / Re: Merit source isn't giving merit to local board because he thought it's bias. on: October 28, 2020, 07:25:37 AM
Being a merit source is an volunteer job so they are not forced to give merits and complete their merit source quota everytime. If you feel that quality posts are not getting enough merits then you can also apply to become a merit source and merit all the worthy posts in your local board.
4049  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think we have more bounty hunters now because of the pandemic on: October 28, 2020, 03:19:18 AM
snip~~~
Mostly merit required bounties are in the marketplace were the payments is made everyweek unlike in altcoins no need merits and payments is made after the bounty end and sometimes rewards will not be given, so it is better to join on bounties that pays everyweek
I am not talking about the merit required/earned to join in the signature campaings.Merit requirement is basic need for a newbie to rank up now so anyone who may start their bitcointalk career in 2020 due to bullish market trend may not be able to rank up which will result in less people than in 2017 or earleir.
4050  Other / Meta / Re: Newbie Copper member and jr member to be restricted in altcoin bounties section on: October 25, 2020, 05:06:37 PM
You are talking about the scam or spam? Rank is irrespective to do both these things so why you hate newbies and jr.member ranks?

Forum doesn't moderate scams so it is clear that users are responsible for any action in bitcointalk.
Scam activities are more harmful than restricting newbie copper member in just a certain section and that the bouties and altcoins only to start a thread.

Anyway,  it is forum admin to decide and we of course as part of community could also see lapses share thoughts and hopefully all are open to it. I am not directing anyone to do it for it was just a piece of advise or suggestion. I am no expert running a forum but that adivse was just a possibility that could happen. All of wanted to get rid of scammers I guess if not then probably you are with the scammers. Right?
Scams hurts crypto community a lot but this forum is really meant for helping the upcoming community members who are newbies and low rank members so restricing them is going to act opposite to the intention of bitcointalk.

DT community, trust rating and flag systems help the people to stay away from scammers in bitcointalk so anyone who wants to get rid of scammers need to learn how to effectively use these available forum features.
4051  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is DeFi really a threat to centralized finance? on: October 25, 2020, 03:52:21 PM
Bank offers non collateral loans like credit card, persona loan, automobile loans, etc which is never possible with decentralized finance so I don't think people are going to choose decentralized finance over banking on these kind of loans.Which means defi can co-exists along with centralized banking system which may give healthy contribution to the consumer over the profits on one side.
4052  Economy / Exchanges / Re: All Exchangers scamming now on: October 25, 2020, 02:51:35 PM
Bots are not making money rather, they just executing the trade orders and how can you say that it is scam?.

If you are worried about the bots are ahead of your actions then what stopping you from subscribing a bit for yourself. Dear expert! Tongue
4053  Other / Meta / Re: Newbie Copper member and jr member to be restricted in altcoin bounties section on: October 25, 2020, 12:08:10 PM
<snip>
Yes I get your point,

But I am only advising to exhaust scammers and fraud people in their monkey business. Aren't you happy if they will get difficulties in their scam activities?

Another thing is that buying hack account is more expensive than buying a copper membership. Copper membership is unlimited while hack accounts are not. This can make a change I guess and it will going to happen if the forum wanted to.

Instead of wasting our time reporting them and taking them one by one, the effort will be put to waste since it is easier to create another project and buy a copper membership to promote the project. There is really no point in doing such report unless you only want to do is to grow your account by earning merits from each report you made in a post.
You are talking about the scam or spam? Rank is irrespective to do both these things so why you hate newbies and jr.member ranks?

Forum doesn't moderate scams so it is clear that users are responsible for any action in bitcointalk.
4054  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think we have more bounty hunters now because of the pandemic on: October 25, 2020, 07:23:32 AM
We are still in crisis and people are looking for ways to make money online and bounty hunting is a big attraction to those looking for ways to make money online, because it's easy to do, all you have to do is share on your social media or write an article if you are a good writer and you can earn tokens that you can trade in the market when it hit the market.

Do you think we have more bounty workers now that people are on lockdown or do not have a job yet because of the pandemic?
The number of people who are participating in the bounties are lot less now compared to 2018 and before.Pandemic increase the people's activity time on bitcointalk but most of the old member left the forum already and you can feel ot by looking at the number of replies on each section in the last few hours.

The last quarter of 2017 and 2018 is the fix season where many people are participating in bounties. This year it can possibly increase because many want to earn extra cash but to be honest if they don't know this forum then there is no way they will accidentally find it unless someone teach them about crypto and directed them to forum to get more data or ideas they need.
New people can't really participate in bounties like in 2017 because of merit requirements were needed now to rank up so people may find this as a way to earn money but they can't start making money soon after they entered into the forum but there could be exceptions.
4055  Economy / Marketplace / Re: shipping cash to escrow? on: October 25, 2020, 05:09:05 AM
If I want to buy some physical items here on the marketplace, are there trusted members who can act as escrow? If so, can I mail them cash, like actual dollar bills, which they would hold on to until they have the physical items, then escrow forwards the physical items to me and ships the cash to the seller?
Accepting physical cash has lot of difficulties and disadvantages, never knew anyone in this forum doing escrow for cash deals. But you cam try with the escrow mentioned above but physical cash may never be accepted atleast you need to use bank wire transfer and also you have to accept all the fee.
4056  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What type of user are you in bitcointalk forum (your road to become legend) on: October 24, 2020, 06:38:16 PM
Myself started with 10 airdropped merits and now earned almost 200 ( just 8 remaining). I am also wishing to become Legendary one day not for bounty hunting just for the title because its Legendary and something you can feel proud once you reach it.My goal was to reach Senior member this year but only 2 months left to achieve it? Roll Eyes

Let's see how my merit earning (never hunting) journey will be in the next 2 months. I will return here at the end of 2020 to report how much I achieved.
4057  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: What requirements are you looking for in a gambling site you might want to try? on: October 24, 2020, 03:17:37 PM

4058  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Anyone here who can help me with a stuck BTC transaction on: October 24, 2020, 12:39:44 PM
IMHO, the transaction won't have any chance to get confirmed in real soon like in the next couple of days because you mentioned you did made transaction with fee of 4sats/byte which is really low compared to the recommended fee, it maybe already confirmed even if you used 12sats or above when you broadcast the transaction. If you are not in a hurry then nothing to be worried.

Next time make sure you set the transaction fee which should be same as the recommended fee.

4060  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we back to the bull market? on: October 24, 2020, 04:56:16 AM
Maybe or maybe not, I am just kind of confused state at the moment because paypal news is helping the prices to increase but paypal only allows to hold cryptos in their wallet so people may not be using that platform for buying and holding purpose which can initiate the real bull trend on bitcoin.
