Your first reference is literally a central bank, isn't that kind of the colloquial drinking of the cool aid :-)

That's precisely the point.  Wink
4042  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is bitcoin (crypto) worth anything at all?? on: June 10, 2021, 07:58:26 PM
There are numerous intangible assets that have value. As an example, money in a bank account doesn't exist in a tangible form, but only as data within some database (bits and bytes arranged in a specific manner). Similarly, consider brand recognition or intellectual property, such as patents, trademarks, and copyrights. None of these have tangible value, but have potential to be used for something of tangible value.

Nope the bits and bytes n your bank account has no value at all. It is a virtual representation of the cash (liquid assets) you hold. In fact if those bits and bytes (or in the old days ledgers on books) were the ACTUAL value, then there would never be a "RUN ON THE BANK", the bank would simply update the bits and bytes to show whatever value they wanted

Nope. Contrary to popular belief, it is the other way around; cash (banknotes and coins) is a physical representation of modern monetary units (currencies) and money can (and does) exist independently of physical representations.

references:
What is money? (European Central Bank)
Money supply (Wikipedia)

...of course if your bank account today was $100,000 and tomorrow become $10, it is unlikely you would just 'accept' this and say 'well i guess the value just changed, oh well'  Undecided

Tell that to the people of Venezuela. Grin

Bitcoin facilitates ownership of an intangible thing in a way that conforms to social norms dictating ownership of tangible things. That is one of the breakthroughs of Bitcoin, and also why it is a difficult concept to grasp.

Furthermore, Bitcoin is difficult to grasp because it is based not on the laws of physics or mathematics (though they are an integral part), but on an innate notion of value shared by everyone. It works in a way that does not require artificial constructs -- just basic economic incentives.

I love the way you described this - This is very helpful - Thanks!

Zar nije svaki kripto decentraliziran? Na ni jedan neutječu banke, države i sl. Osim onih USDT, BUSD i sl. gluposti

According to the Swedish Football Association, Dejan Kulusevski and Mattias Svanberg were both positive for COVID-19 and will miss the first EURO match against Spain. Kulusevski remained in Stockholm while Svanberg travelled with the rest of the team to Gothenburg but was isolated at the team hotel. As of yet, no replacements have been called up.

Mandzukic is more than a striker. In Juventus, he can play as a winger and a swing defender and he is very adaptive with tactics as well as requirements from coaches. Mandzukic has good team spirit and every team need him.
The contribution of Mandzukic is more than a striker and goals and Croatia will need many years to find another good player like him.

It just saddens me the way he left the national team, the man thought about staying or leaving for days, and no one even tried to keep him on the team. You are fighting for such a player in all possible ways, because what Luka Modric is for the midfield, it is Mandzukic for the attack - and everyone who watched the match against Belgium saw how Modric plays even at the age of 35.

Definitely. Davor Suker remains Croatia's all-time leading scorer, but Mandzukic was undoubtedly the nation's second-best scorer after him. In terms of the quality of the players as a whole, I would even give him an edge over Suker, and Croatia's young strikers will have a tough time filling those shoes.

Getting back to EURO 2020, I think Croatia will play a lot better when the tournament starts. Let's not forget Russia. Croatia failed to demonstrate the right level of quality before the tournament, lost to Peru and Brazil, and gained only minimal advantages over Mexico and Senegal.

This is a Balkan mentality after all - nothing is serious until it becomes too serious.  Wink

"Bitcoin, it just seems like a scam […] I don’t like it because it is another currency competing against the dollar. Essentially, it is a currency competing against the dollar. I want the dollar to be the currency of the world, that’s what I’ve always said."
izvor: https://cointelegraph.com/news/trump-calls-bitcoin-a-scam-advocates-for-dollar-hegemony

My favorite crypto gambling game is the crash game. However its risky, because you can lose all of your balance very fast! Smiley

When you gamble, you are at risk of losing your balance very quickly no matter what game you play. It doesn't matter so much what types of games you pick, but the way you play them.
As soon as you lose your focus, the bottom is bound to fall out.

I wasn't referring to Mendy in my comment but rather a replacement for the club's third goalkeeper. Academy prospects would make more sense than buying someone in.

Flashscore shows me Karlo Ziger also in their goalkeepers list so yeah they do have an option as third goalkeeper. There isn't a dire need especially when there is Mendy and the second goalkeeper - Kepa (not the best as first team keeper but can get the job done to some extent). They can proceed with academy prospects for fourth one but don't think there is a need. 3 is sufficient I think.

Yes, you're right. I completely forgot about Karlo Ziger. My fellow Croatian. Wink
It seems like he didn't make a lot of appearances during the 20/21 season...

Double departure confirmed
Chelsea have confirmed that goalkeepers Willy Caballero and Jamal Blackman will leave the club when their contracts reach their conclusions this month.
~

I wish them both the best in whatever they do next!
Does that mean Chelsea are looking for a new goalkeeper this summer or will an academy goalkeeper be promoted?

Huh?  Mendy has played very well for them just this recent season.  I’d say if it ain’t broke, don’t ‘fix’ it.  And his recent performances just based on stats puts him among the top 5 keepers in Europe rn.  That’s huge.

4057  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fully vaccinated individuals now spared of masks in the casinos in Vegas on: June 04, 2021, 04:40:30 PM
~
I heard that the vaccinated people can still get infected because the vaccine can not fully protect them. I do not expect to see the third wave, but we all can be in danger if that is really happen.

We are safe even if we took the mask off, provided we are vaccinated, but people around us or our family that does not have the vaccine yet are not safe. There's no 3rd wave for sure unless there's another virus that will come that the vaccine will render useless, but God forbid, it should not happen.

Some Covid vaccines have an effectiveness rate of >90%, and about one-third of the U.S. population has been vaccinated so far. But, there are still legitimate reasons to be cautious. First of all, although new vaccines are very effective, there is always a possibility of infection, no matter how small. A vaccine that is 90% effective, for example, means that about 20 million out of 200 million people could still be infected and get sick.

Even with extensive vaccinations, it is unlikely that the infections will completely disappear. However, this is much better than what we were dealing with just a few months ago.

Bottom line: Let's wait until summer is over before we pop the champagne and declare victory over Covid.

I am sure that credible online gambling service providers will store your data with strict protection.
<cut>

I don't see how anyone can be sure of that. Any service can be compromised at some point, no matter how respectable it may seem.
It is always possible for rogue employees or third parties to leak data even if they employ the most advanced security measures. Last year, we experienced a similar issue with Ledger.

I like slot bonanza because the animation is good...

The majority of the profits I get from gambling are from the slot bonanza, I tried several times to crash and dice but it didn't match my luck.

Can you be more specific about what do you mean by slot bonanza? Is it a kind/name of slot game or it is a whole type of slot game? I have never heard the words "slot bonanza" previously, that's why I ask you. It would be even better if you can show me an image of what is slot bonanza.

Bonanza online slot by BTG (Big Time Gaming) is a Megaways game with more than 100,000 ways to win. It is a popular slot among online players because of its unique format and fun bonus features.

Demo play: https://bonanza-slot.com/

"Bonanza slot is set in the gold mines with 6 reels and gives up to 117,649 ways to win a prize. This is another one from Big Time Gaming and it was released in 2016. The Bonanza game casino has up to 7 symbols on every reel, and pays for the majority for at least 3 adjacent matching symbols from left to right."

It's no surprise that the online gambling will become popular with the COVID-19 I really think many people was forced to play online rather than going to gambling sites and many people are staying at home, I mean what else can we do. Luckily sports betting website that accepts cryptocurrency gives us anonymity while playing but of course licensed platforms may require you to complete KYC procedures as per their terms and conditions.
They provide anonymity fro the meantime but eventually, they will also require a KYC. We should treat them like a legal casino as they have a license, the days are gone that we can just gamble anonymously, the government is embracing crypto, hence they also have to regulate it.

Exactly. Sports betting, in particular, has been given the most attention and scrutiny. In recent years, sports betting has grown into a multitubillion-dollar industry but is being scrutinized increasingly by authorities. A wave of new regulations is forcing sports betting companies to do more due diligence on their customers, and to take greater care how they identify them.
