4041  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Old Casino Keep Up Without Support Here In Bitcointalk Or Signature Campaign on: May 25, 2022, 08:27:03 PM
Can an old casino that's very active here in Bitcointalk, through support, forum advertising, and signature campaign, suddenly pull the plug and stop doing all these things can still keep and still maintain its position in the market.
In my opinion, I don't think so. A casino has to be in evidence most time as possible to remain popular, because that is the way it won't be erased from people's minds. Once a casino shut down their marketing and support services at the forum, it will be slowly fading away from the community's routine, imaginary and conversations, while another casinos investing in advertisement, active support and frequent promotions will take its spot, overcoming it in the end and gathering all the gamblers for themselves.

Propaganda is always the same in every niches and industries: the more you see it, the higher are the chances you are going to purchase the product or use the service. That is why big companies and franchises are constantly putting their ads everywhere they can: internet, television, newspapers, magazines, outdoors, banners, stickers... After all, it's not only about quality, but also the frequency you are in contact with the object in advertisement, even if you aren't asking or looking for it.
4042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most undervalued cryptocurrencies in 2022 - your opinions? on: May 25, 2022, 07:57:28 PM
With the exception of shitcoins, the whole market is undervalued in 2022. That is what a bearish market represents. Every altcoins which have a working project concept and showed solid results previously, with loyal supporters' base along the time, are likely to perform well on the next bull run. But keep in mind altcoins by themselves do nothing. It's bitcoin currency which pushes them above. Without bitcoin pumping there isn't altcoins' bull run. So it really doesn't make sense to not pick bitcoin to invest. That is the safest and surest option in crypto market.
4043  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction causing victim to scam his family on: May 25, 2022, 05:00:30 AM
It's clear that the gambler has a problem in the first place since he was addicted already plus he is not thru with it yet. Then a simple message from the casino would trigger the feeling of a compulsive gambler and since he can't do anything about it even if he lost more than he can afford to lose. That's why if you have a bad feeling when starting to play gambling trust your guts because that's true. In the long run, you will still be the one who can control yourself.
It is a shame that things like this keep happening but this is because people still have the wrong idea when it comes to gambling, if instead of seeing in gambling an easy source of money they just saw it as another from of passing their time then very soon they will realize how betting such a huge amount of money which they cannot afford to lose makes no sense, after all with all of that money you could have done something else that could have brought you more entertainment if used correctly, but since those people not only want to win but also to recover the money they have lost through the years they never consider that alternative view at all.
And in this case it's even worse, because the addicted gambler didn't cause problems only for himself, but also for his acquainted, who was scammed and lost 56,000€ he received from his mother. Probably this gambler knew about the inheritance received by the other man, and that is why he milked every single penny from him to feed his addiction without worrying if there would be money to repay the "loan" later. It's also shocking the fact this scam lasted for 2 years. It's a lot of time to be scammed in silence without going after the police or suing the borrower.
4044  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Buying a house with 100% Bitcoin is possible in Portugal on: May 25, 2022, 02:35:42 AM
I  never understood how bitcoin can be used in large scale buyings like these.the coin itself is not stable and highly volatile and although this may be fun and all in a bull market but in the bear case as we stand today that BTC you recieved can lose 1/2% of its value in a day.For 3btc + transactions this is alot of money and an unessecary risk taken by the sellr.

I don't think btc was supposed to be used like there, not unless it got severly regulated or backed more.
By looking the website few times I observed the values of the properties fluctuate a lot. I guess there is a fixed value in fiat for each offer and the site is configurated to follow bitcoin market's quotation in real time. The more expensive bitcoin gets, the less you pay for the house/land and the cheaper bitcoin gets, the more you pay. But even in this case, when the market is heavily volatile it can be annoying to close a deal...

One of the properties, for example, was pricing 130BTC, and after few minutes when I checked again it was 129.7BTC.
4045  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Buying a house with 100% Bitcoin is possible in Portugal on: May 25, 2022, 01:06:22 AM
It looks like Portugal is standing out in bitcoin adoption and usage as currency, congratulations. As I see, there is a decent number of offers disponible at the real estate website displaying properties for sale.

For me the prices looked a bit salty. I thought houses in Portugal were cheaper, or maybe is it more expensive on this site because they are dealing with bitcoin?

There may even be the possibility of making a specific contract for this.
But, making a deed regarding the purchase/sale of a house, you must follow the laws of each country for this type of property.
That is, although before you could make a specific contract for this type of situation, now in Portugal you can make this type of purchase according to the normal rules for buying a house.
Does it mean besides the costs in bitcoin for the property, the buyer has to pay extra costs for the deed of sale and registering the property (taxes to the government), right?
4046  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Proposal for LUNA on: May 25, 2022, 12:08:13 AM
....
while the rest of the community that knew that this was a scam and avoided it still have to suffer, something that is completely unfair.
Crypto has recovered nicely from he Ethereum DAO hack and then the Bitconnect ponzi so the market will also endure the negative impact of Luna's massive failure. Most people will eventually move on and just prepare for the next bullrun to recover their losses.
Exactly, crypto market won't be affected by LUNA's death. These are independent subjects. It's crazy to see negative news recently claiming the bearish market and the difficult in recovering prices are a consequence of what happened to LUNA.

Sadly, for investors who picked this currency wrongly, I fear there are minimum chances any action plan to save the ecosystem will work. When an event like this happens, it becomes nailed in the history of crypto industry. Everyone knows about LUNA's fiasco, even those who aren't crypto enthusiasts know about it. People will stay away from anyone and anything related to LUNA from now on.

Maybe the best to do would be to compensate investors with the funds this project still holds and then finish it.
4047  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The market is confusing on: May 24, 2022, 08:07:20 PM
One thing is certain (based on trends), when the market is at bearish mode, that's the time to buy.

It's hard to put bearish bottom. Sometimes I feel still afraid if the bearish has not touched the support that I usually take by drawing the Fibo line. Although technical sometimes does not apply because whale wants another. Buy when bearish and don't know where that support will harm. But I understand everyone has their way of being taken easy and making a profit. Mngkin other techniques can be done by buying gradually, done with a quarter of your funds, although if later the profit will not be maximized but it saves your assets from a worse happiness.
The price can always crash deep further, including during a bearish market. It's out of our control and forecast skills. But at some point you have to set your enter point, even knowing this harsh reality, otherwise you won't thrive in crypto market. To not get disappointed I think about those people who bought BTC during its ATH in 2017 and have seen their investments crashing to the bottom, although they didn't lose hope. Instead, they just kept holding with patience and assurance someday bitcoin would overcome that bear market. And that is exactly what happened.

From an ATH of almost 20,000$, to 3000$ in 2018, to the impressive ATH of 70,000$ last year.
4048  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are new bitcoin users early or late to the party? on: May 24, 2022, 05:40:54 AM
I can't say how further bitcoin will reach yet, but I'm pretty sure some upper levels above 100,000$ and 200,000$ are reachable and guaranteed. And actually, if it wasn't for Federal Reserve and their attractive interest rates, bitcoin could be close to the 100,000$ mark right now. But no problem, the event was just delayed. Inevitably it will happen one time or another and once it happens, better that you are prepared holding your coins.

About 1,000,000$ or something near this price range, for now it is just a daydream. Market volume has to increase a lot yet. Number of investors and amount of funds must grow exponentially.

Anyway, nobody is late to the party, because it hasn't begun yet. But make sure you bought your ticket previously, since once the party starts, entrances run out really fast...
4049  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk won't save Doge or Bitcoin this time on: May 23, 2022, 11:59:09 PM
Big players in the crypto market like Elon Musk have long-term plans. Dodge Coin has dropped from 72 cents to 8 cents. Most of the coin returns to buy back position. Now blue wholes are prepare for getting more. Maybe Elon storm will come soon. Everyone has to wait for that moment.

I doubt that he has long-term plans for dogecoin. He is just trolling and hyping with it. But people has created a cult of Elon Musk the dogecoin saver and worship it. Again, people are responsible that dogecoin price went up when Musk mentioned it in his tweets, not he pushed price up on purpose. I cant understand why people call him dogecoin saver? Community are the ones who pushed price up, Elon did not invest or trade to pump dogecoin price up.
It looks like people following him don't bother losing money... Cult is indeed a good definition for the relationship between him and his followers. Elon is an unstable and dangerous guy, as are the crypto investments he endorses on his twitter through serious or joke posts. Investors who care about their money should stay away from him. Musk is good in making money for himself and not for other people. That is how billionaire act. They didn't reach where they are for being benevolent or charitable.
4050  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Session That Lingers On Or Keep Staying On your Mind on: May 23, 2022, 11:29:35 PM
Anyone experienced or suffered from this, whether from winning or from losing where a particular gambling session keeps staying in your mind and you'll having sleeplessness thinking about that particular session over and over again, the same bet keeps repeating over and over again and you keep asking yourself what if you do the opposite.
This usually happens when the gambler avoids a bet to not risk losing his money, so he go away from the casino or website, but he can't just forget it, because it's like a temptation hiting inside his mind all the time, telling him what if he gambled that money and won the prize, what he could do with such amount of cash and how it would change his night, weekend or his life for better.

I'm glad I overcome this and I see to it now that whenever I'm login off to casinos I'm playing I will not think about it whether I lose or win.
It's really hard to calm down those thoughts, but thankfully you did it for your own good! Anyway, keep watching yourself and your gambling habits, as we never know when our emotions are going to be exacerbated again.
4051  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How weird is it to borrow money and invest into Bitcoin? on: May 23, 2022, 11:02:21 PM
Therefore, using borrowed money to invest in Bitcoin is not recommended, especially since the price of Bitcoin is very volatile, because it will be
a problem for us in the future. Unless we have another source of income to pay our debt installments, it is still understandable if we borrow money
to invest in Bitcoin. But it would be even better to use the extra money we have for investing in Bitcoin, because the risk is too high for us to use
borrowed money to buy Bitcoin. We must remember that investing in Bitcoin does not need to be with large capital, but it will be more effective
to use capital according to our respective financial capabilities.
Even though you have another source of income it's not executable. Nobody knows for how long bitcoin will keep stable on the currently price range or if it will crash further, but it's sure you will have to pay the loan back every month to the bank. And the interest charged is too high. I usually see people borrowing money in order to buy a car or a house and when I see how much they are being charged by the banks in interest percentage, I conclude they could be purchasing two cars or two houses with the money they are paying back to the bank, if they were more economical and didn't rely on banks for money.

With bitcoin it's the same principle. Being economical it's possible to acquire more bitcoins, instead of filling the banks' pockets with easy profit through loans.
4052  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should LTC return as a silver to BTC and being ranked in the top 5?? on: May 23, 2022, 07:51:47 PM
Who knows... I got surprise days ago after seeing litecoin is still a popular currency among crypto gamblers, raising its usage from 3,5% last year to 6,45% this year.

Moreover, litecoin has integrated recently the called Mimblewimble protocol, which promises to enable users to send confidential transactions. Depending how it's going to be received by the market and how useful it's going to be for real, MimbleWimble can be indeed a booster for litecoin adoption.

Quote
With Mimblewimble Extension Block, users of the network can opt-in to confidential transactions. The end goal is to enhance the viability of Litecoin as a fungible currency that can be used for real-world transactions by lowering fees and adding privacy, throughput, and scalability.

Although there are controversies:

Quote
The OG cypherpunk Adam Back was, however, not impressed by MWEB. While responding to a tweet that speculated many Bitcoiners believe that Bitcoin may soon activate the protocol, Back said that he does not think MWEB enhances much privacy:

“IMO Mimble Wimble is not much of a privacy improvement as the transaction history will be recorded even if later elided, and the scaling gains only start to win at large size as transactions are bigger. also, receiver online is inconvenient. Confidential Transactions I like ofc.”

4053  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador will be the richest country in the world in 8 years? on: May 23, 2022, 07:23:49 AM
Well, El Salvador needs much more wealth to become the richest country in the world in 8 years. Currently, it's well known they hold at least 1801BTC, which is proportional to 54,856,659$ dollars in real time rates. Let's say bitcoin hits its ATH at 70,000$. Then El Salvador will have more than multiplied their investment into 126,070,000$. That is a lot of money, but not enough to become the richest country in world, though...

Solely investments in bitcoin aren't sufficient. Territory size isn't an issue, but a country needs to develop their own technology to rise in GDP ranking. Look the example of Japan. They are a small island, but rank at third in GDP.
4054  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think we should do with our investments in times of uncertainty? on: May 23, 2022, 06:43:01 AM
My only fear regards bitcoin is that internet becomes unavailable at some moment of our history due to massive wars or censorship. That is the kind of uncertainty I most fear when thinking if I should keep my investments in bitcoin or not. In extreme situations I'm not sure if digital goods are a good idea, so it's preferable to focus in physical intrinsic stuff, which you can have direct access to, without having to rely on a third party service or item to transact or deal with.

On the other hand, in a chaotic scenario like that, bitcoin would fit as a decent choice to be used to help rebuilding the world, once the storm is over and new times begin. Consequently it might be worthful to keep holding even when the scenario looks the worst possible.
4055  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFT development on: May 23, 2022, 01:38:57 AM
NFT story is all over the web and this time what got my interest is a story of a young guy who sold a picture as an NFT, how are they transform an ordinary picture into NFT and sell them for a good price. I need help to know how to make this happen.
Take these news with a grain of salt. One thing is what they report, another thing is what really happened. Moreover, there are a lot of details in the background that aren't mentioned on the official news. If it was easy to earn huge money selling NFT arts, many designers and artists would be rich right now, while what we see in fact are isolated cases of people earning absurd amounts of money for apparently worthless art pieces. Majority earns nothing, even though their creations are so good or better than the wealthy ones.

I believe there are personal interests on this market that goes beyond the love for art... And that is what makes some NFTs so lucrative for few groups, boosting their prices to the sky. It might be solely speculation or it might be money laundering, who knows... Anyway, don't delude yourself with these things. Search for more palpable and tangible earning methods.
4056  Economy / Economics / Re: What can an average JOE do to face the global food crisis? on: May 23, 2022, 12:48:32 AM
It's not easy to run an animals or crops farm. It requires a lot of spare time, effort and care from the farmer. You need to work all day long to earn too little in return, because it's not only about planting the seeds, watering them or feeding the chickens once in a day. You need to check everyday (probably more than once) the crops to see if there are any diseases or parasites attacking it, you need to clean the chickens' spots, water and food trough, because it becomes dirty really fast, you need a very strict routine to not miss any daily task.

For most people it's not practicable, especially for those used to the life in the cities.

What people can do is to invest in a countryside property and rent it for now to local farmers or something like that. And if someday a chaotic crisis starts and food supplies become low and expensive, their jobs stop being profitable, they have already a plan B in mind, that is to live in the countryside full-time, producing their own basic goods to survive. It looks romanticized, but in fact it's a harsh life or better saying, a survival experiment.
4057  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What altcoins would you invest $ 1,000,000 in? on: May 22, 2022, 11:58:28 PM
The best cryptocurrencies in my opinion are only Bitcoin, Ethereum and Binance. and if i have $1,000,000 then i will buy those three coins for long term investment. because these altcoins have strong and good fundamentals. and this has been proven to be profitable in the long run. so only Bitcoin, Ethereum and Binance are my choices.
That is a good idea. With 1,000,000$ in funds it's not necessary or recommended to invest in doubtful, suspicious altcoins. Better to stick with the currencies ruling crypto market, which at same time have a solid base, demand and reputation. Since OP asked for altcoins to be invested, I would probably would split 60-70% in ETH and 30-40% in BNB. Maybe for fun, I would select one more altcoin to invest up to 5% of the portfolio. Investing this way there is a lot of profit return potential for the next bull run, while not taking the high risks of investing in altcoins that only have a value because of hype and speculation.
4058  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Limitations of Bitcoin Utilization in Africa on: May 22, 2022, 09:26:18 PM
Will you consider High/ Low transaction fees as a limitation also ?
The issue with high transaction fees isn't an exclusivity of african continent. And it wouldn't be a limitation if financial standards in Africa weren't too low... That is the root of the issue. If you have money to invest in bitcoin or to work with bitcoin and earn an income from it, you will have money to pay for transactions fees.

I think the main limitations right now are the financial one, as mentioned, the lack of educational background/understanding on bitcoin usage and lack of access to technological gadgets and devices, which proportionate a much better comprehension and learnship not only on crypto subject, but in every aspects covering technological matters.

If every african had access to internet, a desktop or smartphone, they would easily understand bitcoin can be bought in fractions, while learning how to use an exchange by seeing how it works on practice.
4059  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there a place in the world you could live like a king via sig campaigns? on: May 22, 2022, 07:57:20 PM
Also to mind off that signature campaigns arent permanent therefore its just dumb that you would really be that relying your living into that.
Yeah, I get the realities of my scenario as they'd probably play out in real life, including the fact that nobody's sure how long sig campaigns are going to exist.  I'm not sure which one has been the longest-running, but Chipmixer has been doing theirs for well over a year now, right?  And campaigns aren't what they used to be in terms of how much one could earn from them.  It used to be that if you made 50 posts in a week for Chipmixer, you'd earn 0.0375BTC, and they kept that rate right up to the point when that amount of bitcoin was way more than $300.

I don't even know what other campaigns pay.  Do they come close to Chipmixer?

As far as im aware, there are some long term campaigns like Crypto.games,Betcoin.ag which is mostly on gambling field or industry.Pay might not be the same compared to Chipmixer

but they had been running for for a while but just like as i have said earlier that it isnt really good on putting your life dependent on it because campaigns doesnt last forever

but it would be lucky of you if you had able to join for possible long time running which would really be helpful in some way.It might be big for some or small.
That is an important point to take note: we don't know how long campaigns are going to last, therefore they don't offer financial stability like a formal job we could have access in our countries. Taking this into consideration, I would suggest people to not live as a king (even if they could), because this way they will be "wasting" money that is useful for investing in the present moment, in order to prepare themselves financially for the future, for times when signature campaigns might not be disponible anymore. Adding this to the potential appreciation in BTC price that must happen anytime soon, people can build a very decent income in some years.
4060  Economy / Gambling / Re: The most rewarding referral system on: May 22, 2022, 07:43:28 PM

But in reality, there are gamblers that also take part in the referral system because it's a passive income.
People refer in two ways 1. to whom ask for a good site then the sender send a referral link sothat s/he can get referral commision or ask friend to open account by his/her referral link. And another way is to post referral link on social  media to get referral commission. Only few gamblers might be interested on second option but maximum avoid this second option and they do no want to earn referral commission professionally.
Yes - referral system works well. But the referral works well if the business are promising as well.
What would be the repute of a person after referring to the business which is a scam. Nowadays people dont trust links they trust reviews and real feedback.
Or the referral will also sign up and work through the affiliate link if the referrer is promising as well.
It all depends on what benefits the referrer is offering for people becoming his referrals. It might be a cashback percentage over their wagered funds, prize draws from times to times, or crypto rewards for completing achievements stated by the referrer inside the platform. Referrals need to be incentivized somehow to have their productivity raised and the affiliate program must be benefical for both sides.
