4061  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Escrow list on: May 17, 2015, 12:39:19 PM
Does these reputation threads make a difference for an escrow? I see they are all in a subforum where normally nobody will look into. So im wondering how much worth there is in these threads?
4062  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Help! dmugetsu want to or has scammed. Please help Me on: May 15, 2015, 12:19:42 PM
Your education is at risk... i wish you would have educated before sending money to someone so easy. You could have easily found out that you never should do this so easily. And you would have found that its practically impossible to promise you a 500% return per month. That would be 6000% profit per year. Did you really think someone can give you that? For free? Otherwise you would have to assume that he would be able to make much more than that to make it worth it for him.

Next thing is... you never should play with the money you need. When its gone you are in trouble. If it wasnt needed then its not such a problem.

Anyway... you learned something. Be smarter next time. Practically everyone made one or another stupid error in here.
4063  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Anti-Bitcoin bill -- Please tell N.C. to vote no! (x-post: Bitcoin Discussion) on: May 15, 2015, 12:08:46 PM
Quote
property, not money, as defined by the IRS. For federal tax purposes, Bitcoin transactions are taxed like property transactions. If Bitcoin processors are regulated as money transmitters through this act, then gold dealers and stockbrokers should be as well.

Now that argument doesn't make sense to me. People are using Bitcoin for payments while payments with gold or stocks are virtually non-existent.
But if Bitcoin is to be treated like Gold or Stocks, then the rules regarding the trade of Bitcoins has to be the same as those regarding Gold and Stocks!
Otherwise it makes a mockery of the regaulations to say that on the one hand it isn't money, but if you try to trade it is money!

I would just treat Bitcoin like a commodity if I were a government.  Make it the same as Gold, then all of the regulatory measures are already in place.

Though that should be able to kill bitcoins. Because then, as long as you are a business, you would need to charge vat when selling bitcoins. And a currency cant live with such a tax being applied.

Or is gold vat exempt in the US?

Nice. It really looks like Bitcoins gets more and more adapted by the old system. They want to safe money and thats fine. I wonder where this all will lead to.
4065  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitfinex OHLC 5 min data on: May 15, 2015, 10:28:01 AM
Is this what you are looking for?
https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/bitfinex/btcusd

The chart has many time interval settings and you can select 5 mins too. Hope it helps.

any way to export that?

Go to the charts, chose your exchange, timeframe and resolution and then on the bottom there is a link to show the raw data. You might copy that into an excel spreadsheet. At least thats what i do all the time when i need such past data.
4066  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should Satoshi's coins be deleted? on: May 15, 2015, 10:14:50 AM
I honestly think Satoshi considers doing all sorts of things with his coins, but doing nothing with them is the best option he can come up with. I bet he often considers distributing most of his coins amongst the community, but after 3 seconds looking at the main page here at bitcointalk, he thinks to himself "Why would I give my coins to these retards?" honestly, he sits there looking at his baby, watching it roll around in its own filth, and thinks "....nope..."

now, those coins can not be deleted by an external force, only the holder of the private keys can do that. If you or I or the bitcoin foundation, or Gavin, or anybody other than satoshi had the power to delete someone else's coins, bitcoin would be finished instantly and could never be saved.

I think he might wait until its a world dominating currency. Then he will take over the world.  Cheesy

No, really. I think he has an enourmous power. Bitcoin might really become a big part of the world wide financial system. He could do very much things with it. Depending on his character. He could create a form of organization to get every result he want with it. The possibilities are endless.

I hope he is a nice guy. His coins could destroy so much but they could change much to the better too.
4067  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: Was ist bitcoin-forums.net (SCAM!) on: May 13, 2015, 09:21:36 PM

4068  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: International shipping forwarder list on: May 13, 2015, 09:18:53 PM
Im searching a forwarder out of USA too at the moment. For occassional letters at the moment. I searched for normal forwarders but the one i found needs some notarized form, so i have to skip that since the cost make this senseless.

Sounds like https://about.usps.com/forms/ps1583.pdf - some membership services like AAA offer free notary as a benefit. Some credit unions do it for free for members too.

Yes, that form. The forwarder claims its needed by USPS. Though when i read that form then its nowhere mentioned that its needed for non US residents too.

Anyway... i dont think that there is a free way for me to let this sign. Public notary cant be stretched too far i think. Otherwise i could let some random person sign.

Way too much hassle for a simple letter forwarding i think. I hope some offers come in.

When will we receive are payment for this week?
still didnt receive anything.

Counting has been concluded just after midnight server time and devthedev was informed to pay all participants accordingly.

Thanks!

Looks like he was online some hours ago. Did he miss that appointment?

I'm sure it should be sent soon. Payments are made on Wednesday or Tuesday sometimes if counting goes faster than expected, but I'm in the US, so its probably getting ready to be Thursday in certain parts of the world. This would be a "breach of contract" would it not if the payments are not sent by whenever Thursday comes first in the world? I know its hard to explain, but if its already turned "Thursday" in a part of the world, would it not be a error on the escrows part since they was not sent out as agreed in the escrow? I'm fairly positive that he's probably got RL stuff he's dealing with and just hasn't had time to do it yet.

I dont say something bad. He seems to be a nice guy so im sure youre right and something came in between or he simply missed it.

So you wait ONE day until you open up a scam accusation thread? You realize that this sounds like you are a risky business partner? Someone trading with you can fear you opening a scam accusation thread only because he isnt fast enough. On top they paid already once so its unlikely that they changed in the meanwhile.

Anyway... only my thoughts when i read someone opening a scam accusation thread that fast. Maybe overthink that. Wink

To be honest, you are over-thinking it.

Why would it take extra day when they already have a time frame of 1 - 3 days.

Don't you think 3 days are more than enough PLUS the transaction value isn't that big ?!

Thank you.

Let me know whats the status a week later.

Regardless of that... taking days for a bitcoin withdraw sounds interesting at least when its the standard. That timeframe is not enough to protect against chargebacks or similar things. So i wonder what they need it for.

4074  Economy / Economics / Re: Just found a person selling about 44,000 Bitcoins in localbitcoins on: May 13, 2015, 01:24:54 PM
That can be true, but I'm wondering why a person would sell 13.5 Million USD worth Bitcoins as per his trade when he can wait for few more months or years and have the price go up and make ton of profit like say double or triple, make 50 million USD or something.

uhh simply because he don't have them. He had just acc on some exchange, some BTC on stock and in case of needs, he will transfer fiat to exchange and sell it again.

you know what? at 310$ I can sell you unlimited amount of bitcoins..Smiley)

Thats it. He simply will buy those bitcoins cheap when someone will buy for that price. And he only has to fund the escrow once the trade starts. Its not that he have those coins yet.

If he would own them at the moment, and he thinks he has to sell them, then i would assume he will sell fast in order to lower its risk that the price will drop.
4075  Economy / Services / Re: Amazon - discounted items - up to 90% discount on: May 13, 2015, 01:17:24 PM
Any item on Amazon that you want or ordered within the past month I am able to obtain at a highly discounted price. PM me to discuss.

can you give some more details?

hes going to use social engineering to say you never got it or something along those lines.

Either that, or carded/fraudulent payments.

"If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is"

With a name like "homeless hacker" its practically sure he is using carded CCs. One might be lucky, because for some reason the victim doesnt charge back, but normally you would get problems. Like the seller contacting you and if youre really unlucky police visiting because they believe you hacked the CC.

Edit: Try purse.io instead.

So the chips will use energy additional to a normal device or are they designed to work within the "energy footprint" of existing devices i.e. no net energy increase?

The latter doesn't seem likely.

It probably wouldnt make it worth creating the asics and the pcb needed for it.

Or will a really massive production be able to bring production costs down so far?
4078  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Stay away from ASICSPACE on: May 13, 2015, 12:25:02 PM
What hate? you dont like others to tell you the facts? Read your own posts in this thread again, no contributing just smear BS.

As far as i see, you owe the OP an apology. You got nothing to contribute, only assumptions and bs.

If you only could see the irony in your statement on so many levels then you would laugh. But i think i wont waste more time with you. If you still want to keep me as part of your crusade then you might want to do it elsewhere since youre offtopic in here. And dont forget my previous post since i wont watch that too long of course.
4079  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's Happening .... The secrets of 21 inc revealed, and its what we hoped for. on: May 13, 2015, 12:09:39 PM

How? I dont get it yet. Is there a business model that could be worth it for bitcoin? If you mean those stations being miners then i think that specialized miners still will have an advantage in price. So i dont see why this might be related.

We know that Qualcomm invested in 21 Inc. We also know that they are interested in and are developing millions of micro-stations to boost their network coverage and bandwidth.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2p2suMVsKow&feature=youtu.be

The question is who is going to buy their micro stations or pay the electricity and why would they? It would be ridiculous for them to require one for their devices.

Thus one can speculate that they may be interested in having 21 deploy millions of ASIC appliances for free where 2 extra chips are embedded one for mining BTC thus affording 21 to give away the appliances and the other own being a microstation for qualcomm where qualcomm subsidizes the price in exchange for cheaper bandwidth.

Interesting since WLAN and co are normally enabled all the time. But still economically probably not viable.

I really would like to know their idea. Either they have a really good idea we did not think about, they lied about the investment funds they received or they dealt with persons that dont know bitcoin.
