4061  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin whales are multiplying—while also getting poorer on: July 02, 2020, 10:04:10 AM
So to be precise, the number of Bitcoin whales is increasing but the amount that they each hold per wallet is decreasing, right? The HODLERS above 1000, let's say has 1001 Bitcoins and spent the 1 Bitcoin in a different asset, causing a decrease in wallet value. Lol.

Possibly they are investing in different assets during the current global situation, don't you guys think so? Or accumulating more in the sidelines, putting it in another wallet.
4062  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The term and word (free coins) is completely wrong on: July 02, 2020, 05:39:07 AM
It’s not just in cryptocurrencies but anywhere in the world in which is something that says it’s for free there is usually an exchange for something. Most of the time it’s for your valuable personal information like name, email address, and contact number.

Everyone probably experienced this one time or another.
4063  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How reliable is crypto payment? on: July 02, 2020, 03:01:43 AM
I think it would depend on the business owners if they are willing to take risks with the volatility of the crypto market. For example, I remember that steam was excepting cryptocurrency as payments for their games and other payable content, and they didn’t like the volatility of crypto and discontinued it, IIRC.

Most of the owners are probably worried about the payment methods and the legal aspect of the crypto currency‘s right now. We’ll see.

If they are scared of the volatility, I think with stable coins, they would be at ease.

P.S. I don't know what ”poss” have to do with crypto Cheesy

... crypto volatility could poss a lot of dangers and issues when adopting crypto for payment.
4064  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to Overcome and Handle Your Mistakes in Trading? on: July 02, 2020, 12:40:44 AM
As a person, I think we cannot wholly stop making mistakes just because it’s inevitable. But from what you have posted there, it’s part of the process in which you could improve more and know what to do in a particular circumstance. That’s the challenge in trading in which where you know that you predict 100% the outcome, but you are willing to take the risk because of your technical analysis. When that is done, the best thing is the limiting of your risk by risk management.

I have continuously dealt with myself with the control to stop over-trading. I have full of emotions and feelings, so it made me risk more and lost more money with the process. I’m thankful to have a trading Tool like Gunbot but to assist me in my training needs. Maybe you guys are interested as well.

I’m concerned about the part where he is going to send the passport details and any identification thing that he has. Like if he is going to scam anyone here for a lot of money, he’s probably going to use another identity. It may be hacked or bought ID somewhere. I think it’s quite scary that participating in KYC in different places could end up being used to scam.
4066  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NEM is now connecting businesses to blockchain? on: July 01, 2020, 08:44:53 AM
When a very well known business starts to use the Blockchain Technology, then there would be a lot of "looking into" towards the technology. Almost everything is a copycat thing in which people would start to emulate what the big players are doing,. Then more adaptation would come to the cryptocurrency space, hence more buyers and hopefully rising the cryptocurrency price.

I believe that whether it's Bitcoin, Ethereum, NEM, or any kind of coin, as long as there's exposure with the cryptocurrency space and it's usability, why not?
4067  Economy / Gambling / Re: Pokertime - deposit/withdraw crypto to play poker on: July 01, 2020, 07:16:09 AM
I haven't heard anything about it, but it sounds good though. However, upon searching the keyword "Pokertime" I stumbled upon a forum where Pokertime is  being discussed. It's posted there that the website is trying to scam people by colluding. Just like what DoublerHunter and figmentofymyass. It should already be aw warning that it's quite easy to scam people by this under the table and sketchy websites on the internet.

Always do a background check on unfamiliar websites, it could save your money for sure.
4068  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Plagiarism in newbies on: June 30, 2020, 08:03:50 AM
It's a cheater way. Taking the easy road compared to producing their post and doing actual research. They might be thinking that it's an easy way to get post counts here and "possibly" get merit with the copying. They probably believe that plagiarism is an easy way to level up with the current rules. Copying somebody else's work and passing it as your own is unacceptable in any kind of discipline. It should be known to all already and common sense.  Angry
4069  Economy / Economics / Re: Roubini Warns about the Incoming Stagflation on: June 30, 2020, 02:40:00 AM
Green Energy is quite popular due to its benefits and this is why it's being used as a political tool.

Certainly not about spending/investment to improve something that is not urgent. Like the icebergs won't melt anytime soon (hopefully Grin).
Hopefully not but we will never know unless it happens Shocked

I believe the lockdown policy has failed; therefore, the policy should be about pushing everyone to get back to work asap to solve the output problem. When we imagine going out to work is just like going to the battlefield, then:
- increase hospital bed (temporary);
- more place for washing hands;
- more schedule for trains and buses since the capacity has been cut in half;
- incentivizing the business to open.
I believe that the reason for the lockdown policy is to make sure that the health-care systems could handle the current situation with the health policy. All of the things that you listed should be done for sure and currently being done in some places. I'm not sure about incentivizing businesses though unless it's an essential type of business or something.

Next, they should be dealing with the inflation problem. The easiest way is to reduce the money supply to pull the economy into recession. But it should only be done if the inflation is intolerable.
That's the problem, there is still the "lack" of money that's why there's an increase in money supply to catch up to that "lack" of funds thing. I doubt they would stop printing or something.

It can be done anytime, as long as there are economic justifications behind it. Yes, it happened everywhere in the world (including in my country) because green energy in the right area will be cheaper or more less the same as fossil energy. That's why Bitcoin miners concentrated in rich hydro energy areas in China.
It's always going to be the right time when it's for the environment. It's definitely good to rely on renewable energy resources instead of traditional energy sources that are depleting.
4070  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTCpay Server: A Real e-Commerce Game Changer? on: June 29, 2020, 06:22:36 AM
I agree that BitPay is not going to die anytime soon because as said above, most merchants wants a convenient and easy way to instantly convert BTC to USD and BitPay happens to be one of the first services to provide that. However, I don't see them dominating the payment processors scene... not with the way they're currently operating anyway (enforcing KYC for buyers, trying hard to push B-cash, implementing BIP71,  banning countries etc.).
Thank you for clarifying it. It's kind of a hassle to register an account to buy an item or a service of some sort. I remember when using CoinPayments, it would easily be sent you just have to put some details like email. I steered away from CoinPayments as well when they required the KYC as well for members. It's become quite a hassle as well.

@crwth, LTU_btc It's true that it will likely dominate for a long time to come, but when it actually has good competitors who now have funding, like btcpay does, it will be forced to innovate to remain competitive. So if it chooses to do so, then it's still a win.
It's a healthy competition then. I'm hopeful that there would be a payment processor that would overtake anyone. Could there be a decentralized one too? No regulations to follow or something? It would be harder and lots of consequences with that, I guess.
4071  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-06-25] Jim Rogers Warns Governments Will Have To ‘Eliminate' Bitcoin on: June 29, 2020, 05:18:30 AM
It's the government's uncertainty is the reason why they are not willing to embrace the idea of decentralization. Not being in control means not going to be accepted. Classic move right? If they can't control it then just rule it out. Maybe if they started ruling out that people need this kind of decentralization and the mindset in which it's impossible to print money out of thin air just because you need it, it would change their mindset or something. I doubt this could happen though.
4072  Economy / Economics / Re: Roubini Warns about the Incoming Stagflation on: June 28, 2020, 11:49:12 PM
Yea, but we shouldn't just take what the scholar said without fair criticism. IMO it's more like a political statement than about economics. When the stagflation is imminent, the solution presented here is too far ahead of the problem and too general. It seems like "everything" can be solved with green energy, better infrastructure, education, and the healthcare system.
It's fair to criticize what the scholar said but it's the ideal route for the economy. How is it political? Isn't it just common sense with what could happen? You agree that stagflation is imminent but what do you think should be done in replacement to that? I'm no expert but I can't suggest anything because it's not in my domain though.

Green energy, especially, switching now will only add costs with no tangible benefit in the economic sense.
When should you think it should be done? When there's no pandemic anymore? Even before the pandemic, there were a lot of opportunities to convert or "add" the green energy system for use, but did it happen? I guess some but like what I said in the previous post, it's better to focus on the healthcare system first.
4073  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTCpay Server: A Real e-Commerce Game Changer? on: June 28, 2020, 02:19:57 PM
When I got my first website up and running, I was accepting payments using Coinpayments. I'm not entirely knowledgeable in creating your own node and using electronic wallet addressing and change addresses, etc. So I would just opt for Coinpayments. It's quite easy just because you would only put the generated button and put it on the website.

I guess in BTCpay, the setup would be a little bit hassle, but once you have made it, it's worth it. Just because of the node you are going to make to support the Bitcoin network, but the hassle of paying monthly wouldn't be ideal for startups right now.

It would be getting used to it. I'm sure it's a game-changer for different websites.

It's come a long way. Bitpay's days are numbered, wouldn't you agree?
Why is it numbered? I bet it's going to continue long and could dominate the payment processors scene.
4074  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Whats A Good Telegram To Join? on: June 28, 2020, 09:46:53 AM
Did you just create your account to hype your Website or something? Generating 219 ETH for 48 hrs seems too good to be true  It’s quite sketchy.

It depends on what kind of groups you want to be in if you are interested in trading they’re all out of focus groups that could accommodate your queries or something like that. If you are the type of person who just wants signals for trading, there are paid and free channels you could join.

It’s up to you.
4075  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: "Poker Tournaments" are reopening little by little. on: June 28, 2020, 04:43:47 AM
My newsfeed is mostly composed of previous poker games and some with celebrity poker game tournaments for A cause or something. I must say that I miss watching live poker competitions for educational and entertainment purposes, of course.

I like what Ryker1 posted, and I saw that as about that facemask as well. It's quite expensive for a facemask, but it should be required if playing in poker to see the expressions or something.
4076  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fortnite Betting? on: June 27, 2020, 10:27:01 AM
With what’s happening around us, online games and other non-contact physical activities are preferred. More and more people are getting engaged and thinking about this kind of idea, just like what you posted here OP. I’m going to be interested in getting an Account to the website in which you could bet In those Types of games.

We all know that the Olympics is a showcase in which you could show off your skills in front of the whole world. It’s a sign of development in every kind of aspect, specifically in sports and electronics sports.
4077  Economy / Economics / Re: Telegram to Return $1.2 Billion to Investors and Pay $18.5 Million Penalty to Se on: June 27, 2020, 08:44:23 AM
I have read the news regards to Telegram not being allowed by the SEC in 2019. With everything that has happened during the past few months, it's understandable that the update is just recent. Sadly, there are a lot of people who had hopes up for this, but I guess it's not the right time, and it wasn't registered of some sort. It's a way to protect the investors as well.

There could still be a chance for them in the near future to offer as long as they notify. I think there's something that could happen there, but who knows?
4078  Economy / Economics / Re: Roubini Warns about the Incoming Stagflation on: June 26, 2020, 03:04:41 PM
These hard times, it's hard to get focused on the infrastructures and school systems. Focusing on one aspect would be good enough right now, the health-care system.
I don't understand what these have to do with stagflation when you have output problems and inflation problems at the same time.
It's in the article though.

Quote
Stiglitz said countries where there’s bigger trust in government have done better getting out of the pandemic. The U.S. should focus on a green transition, fix its infrastructure, health-care and school systems, and make sure and making sure everyone who “wants a job, has a job.”

The possible solution and what the U.S. could've done. It's said there that there are other countries that have done better during the pandemic in which focusing on those three parts of the system. Since it's not the case, high unemployment and stagnant demand in the economy has happened, hence stagflation.
4079  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Geotagging on: June 26, 2020, 08:42:24 AM
Yes sort of. The only thing is that the Bitcoin will not be present physically at the location marked on the map. Instead, users will receive a private key once they arrive at the predetermined location by the issuer. It could greatly motivate anyone to get into cryptocurrency right away. Smiley
What if it was a trap or something? It's quite scary to think about that but at the same time, you could get to know people who are in the same space as you. You just have to trust that "drop" or something related to that. Is it going to be like Pokemon Go? Lol
4080  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: COVID-19 a reason for Bitcoin adoption? on: June 26, 2020, 05:33:22 AM
Well said, it is also good to avoid some contacts on other people. If there are things that can be done through online transactions, let us choose it so we don't need to go outside and do the transactions.
That's definitely the purpose of the contactless payment systems. The situation now made it sound a lot better and it's the actual time to do it, IMO. You will never know what the other person has been with or something. It's best to stay safe.

You can't eliminate the use of physical money easily, especially that not all of the people can afford smartphones, computers, and etc., to access digital currencies. There are a lot of people who are still unable to use digital money due to ignorance about the use of technology. I voted YES, because this is a big opportunity to use bitcoin in many transactions.
The best goal is to eliminate it but it's not realistic, I know. I hope it's going to be a preferred way of payment or something like that. I know that even basic cellphones now can transact through texts, IIRC.
