4061  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Always take profit on: August 05, 2021, 08:38:14 PM
It's easy to enter with good entry point but the challanging thing is taking profit before a retracement and most of the times this retracement could be a beginning of a new trend changing a winning trade to loss.
If you're trading on Futures, don't ever allow a winning trade turn into loss because of your high expectations of it to give you an exaggerated ROI. Take your profit and run. Watch and wait for a better entry to make a come back. Most times it's greed that makes traders allow such a situation to hit them, and not because they don't have the knowledge of TA. You risk your capital doing that as margin call can happen at any time.

Have you considered taking profits of $1-3$ repeatedly throughout a trading session it might sound small for professional traders but it would go along way in growing an account most especially for beginners
It's better to allow profit run than cut it short because of fear. Picking small winnings repeatedly can be wiped off with a single loss. Fear of losing isn't supposed to be something to consider for traders who want to cash out successfully. Professional and successful traders don't trade with fear in mind.
4062  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is margin trading good for beginners ? on: August 05, 2021, 04:40:58 PM
Hello Everyone.

I want to know your opinion on margin trading is it good for beginners or not?
If the trader is a beginner it will be to their best interest to steer clear of margin trading. Spot trading on its own isn't even easy let alone margin trading. Don't let greed overcome you, thinking of how much you stand to rake in at any trade engagement isn't the right way to go in trading. Remember, there's no holy grail in trading and no setup is perfect. That's if the beginner trader even know what a setup is and how to plot it via a vis TA.

is there any high chance of losing the money?
Of course, there will be losses. Even professional veteran traders do suffer losses from time to time let alone noob traders.

but i'm sure even up to this day there is a child within me wanting to play all the time. i just couldn't show it to anyone because they'd think i can't get my shit together.
Learn to free that child in you! You can't lead your life to please anyone. Even when you act too responsible and mature there are people who will slide you for that. No one has the ability to please the world.

i think the people who learns to play online games like AXIE game are lucky to be once a man, forever a child.
Funny you 😅. But playing is also a fertile exercise for the brain. It's good food for the soul, provided it doesn't leave an old folk panting.
4064  Other / Serious discussion / Once a man, twice a child on: August 05, 2021, 01:13:37 PM
My avatar text bears that expression in the title post. Cry

I didn't know that Once a man, twice a child was even a theory the first time I heard that expression on radio a few years ago. The theory is called Retrogenesis. I was listening to one of my favourite OAPs that fateful day during his 5am belt when he voiced that expression. That presenter was someone I have learnt a lot of stuff from but that expression on that day was the icing on the cake for me. It felt like a paradox at first and I couldn't make anything out of it. Later, same day, I pondered over it for a while before it finally sank in.

The meaning became an everyday experience for me in such a manner that it has now tremendously shaped the way I relate with old folks and kids. I tend to be more patient when it comes to dealing with old peeps as I always harbour that thought they may not be fast grappling with what I'm saying. It's more of empathy for me this day with them. There are lots of challenges and impairment when it comes to growing old and I don't think it's wise adding inconsideration to people of that grade in question. Can you imagine growing old and then realizing that you're losing some of your cognitive abilities and strength. Sad, right?

Exactly!

It feels like one is dying while that plays out in one's head, and no one likes to harbour that thought that they're dying. It's a sad reality.

I googled the expression and found more on it. According to research, the expression is an American idiom about retrogenesis which is the theory or observation that a person is born as a child, grows to adulthood, and reverts to a childish or child-like state in old age.

Now you know that old folks get slowed down in ability and reasoning and sometimes tend to act and behave like kids. I have noticed that a lot with relatives and other old folks around me. They tend to slow down in understanding things while one is in a conversation with them. The agility of the mind and brain are gradually slowing down. It's a natural process of diminishing returns. I ain't talking of senie dementia here. I'm talking of healthy old folks. No matter how smart they want to play, there's always that stuff you can catch them on, slipping.

As an old folk, you aren't even agile anymore. You can't take the jumps you were used to taking. You can't even scale over a small fence or jump down from a bench.

A few kilometers of walk and jog knock the breath out of you. Lifting stuff as light as 5kg weighs you down.

As infants, we learn to walk. And as old folks we also learn how to walk by supporting ourselves with a cane. Learn to hold old folks by heart like you would hold them by hand.

How life treats mortals like us makes me wonder why someone will still want to be arrogant about material or positional possessions. We are only pencils in the hand of God and as such should position ourselves to reflect positively on every endeavour we embark on for each passing day draws us closer to the grave.

Even if I don't understand simple maths, I should be able to work that out to know that its current value with 1 BNB @ CMP of $334 is $3.3 weekly for Snr Member? Obviously, that's funny. Perhaps, it's a mistake.

Meaning: Some one that has passed you in whatever level of life endeavor has past you. Your best chance is to learn from him or her in order to be like him or her.
Another proverb wey resemble that one be – no matta how pikin get cloths reach, im nor fit get rags pass im papa.

I know I would have left!
I would've left too. I don't like unnecessary stress.

Just post here:
2. Get someone to vouch for you
If an established member knows you personally, they can post your username in this topic for whitelisting.
I actually did in that post (though I didn't include my friend's username) 👇 below as soon as my friend started corresponding with the veteran member whose name I didn't know even then until after I had to send him a pm when he asked for that evidence. I felt posting there would be a cue for veteran to know I was vouching for the newbie. Except if they didn't take me to be a reputable member of the forum 🤷

I like the way this is turning out that some reputable members are seriously finding a way to help out on this evil fee. In the past I had had to pay for two friends because they didn't know jack about Bitcoin and never had any at the time. Right now, I'm vouching for another friend who's very interested to grow and advance his knowledge of cryptocurrencies. I'm happy to be doing this for them.
4069  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Remove Proxyban (evil fees) - email to get whitelisted for free on: August 04, 2021, 09:23:37 AM
    Users whitelisted by me

You see? The above user is one of those the forum would've lost if you, LoyceV, hadn't whitelisted them. I actually checked all the profiles of those listed there (though many haven't made a single post after getting cleared) and got the surprise of my life when I got to the quoted user and noticed the magnificent experience they have in tech. With just three posts within a day after registration, the user already garned 53 merits. Well deserved merits at that, owing to the calibre of users who merited there. I'm thinking – would jreesun had moved on (out from this forum) if no one whitelisted them against the evil fee?

I must say they make it very easy to reject them, if they can't follow simple instructions.
Does that include asking a new user to do a video of their IP? I referred someone to the forum and wanted them to be whitelisted, not as if it was any big deal for me paying the evil fee for them. I had done that for two others in the past, actually. My new friend who was in correspondence with one of the handlers of the listed email addresses here was asked to do a video of their IP to prove a point that it wasn't a farmed account of mine. That really got me pissed and I told them to forget about that, that I would rather pay the evil fee for my mentee than make them pass through stress and expose their privacy for something as little as that.

My question is this – does asking someone to do a video of their IP not violate a user's privacy? I'm sure there are genuine newbies who may be facing this same issue. Kindly clear this up.

Very sad news, there are a lot of cases too this happened recently on our country,
I think you may have to read through my post again as it seems your perspective doesn't align with the news I shared. It should be good news for Bitcoin if a court of competent jurisdiction outlaws the action of a government owned bank which is reputable for its anti-bitcoin actions. It simply means a lot of other bitcoiners and crypto fans can go on with their trading activities. That will boost confidence for the Russian Bitcoin community.
4072  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Ranking-up pipeline- Those close to their next rank (lacking Merits) on: August 03, 2021, 01:30:46 PM
DdmrDdmr, I know using code is the unique style you want for this thread but can you make it easier for those of us wanting to merit users here by making the profile or usernames clickable? It's enough trouble checking through users by copying and pasting their usernames just to get their profiles to check out their post history only to end up seeing that they already received the merits needed for ranking up. Can you make it any easier with clickable links?
4073  Economy / Trading Discussion / Russian court asks bank to unfreeze Bitcoiner's account on: August 03, 2021, 12:53:05 PM
A regional court in Russia has ordered Sberbank, now known as Sber, to unfreeze an account belonging to a Bitcoin trader in a dramatic turn despite the strict regulations going on in that country. The court maintained that Sber, a state-owned Russian bank and the largest banking institution in the country known for supporting a negative stance on Bitcoin, had no reason to keep the account service blocked after the client provided detailed information about his Bitcoin trades.

This is a welcome development at a time there are lots of negative media struggling to drag Bitcoin down with FUD. Will this action and support from the court propel Bitcoin to achieving another bull rally? What is your take on this?

It doesn't look animated. It's ANIMATED! Except if you're imagining it isn't 🙄

I think this should be developed into a poll question.
I do think so too. At least, it will show us how.the.divide.is.structured.
    4076  Other / Meta / Re: Animated Avatar on: August 02, 2021, 05:04:57 PM
Animated avatar like the one is worn by Vod is not annoying. It is slow and friendly enough. You even don't realize it is an animated avatar if you don't look at it for a few seconds.
Yeah, cool and salient representing the avatar text of that user. One would miss it if one didn't pay a three seconds attention to it. It's a pity that the user exited the forum. Whereas OP's avatar is annoyingly distracting to say the least. If they were to bring back animated avatar I think it should be limited to just the legendary rank and it should be avatar type that won't have more than two switches or give us the Vod type - slow one.

    Edited:
Imagine having an avatar like that below 👇

Except it's probably the opposite, hodlers are likely driving cheap clunkers.
Lol... Of course, I know you know that the start of a race doesn't become the verdict for the finished line. Every hodler knows Bitcoin is a phoenix. Corrections are momentary and not the end result.

Every dip is an opportunity to buy more, and not sell. Sales are done at top, not bottom.
