4061  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US Presidential Election 2020 on: May 14, 2020, 04:07:02 PM
Since the start of the crisis, Trump has been behaving very irresponsibly and has not taken the necessary measures to protect the population.
He talks a lot more about opening up the economy than it does about the health of the population and saving lives.
Former President Obama commented a few days ago that there was no organization or plan to manage this crisis and that crisis management is chaotic.
Obama made the remarks during a half-hour phone call with former associates of his cabinet, a recording of which was obtained by Yahoo News.
But it seems that Trump still has a large number of people who support him no matter what he does.

The US is having a two-party system, unlike most of the European nations. So most of the population identifies with one of the two main political ideologies. All of those who votes for Trump doesn't necessarily support his views on most of the subjects. They have their own reasons for voting for Trump. For example, the Evangelicals vote for him, in order to create a conservative majority in the SCOTUS.
4062  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin do you trust, BNB or ETH? on: May 14, 2020, 03:55:59 PM
ETH will still be a priority for investment because ethereum is the king of altcoins, so to spend a lot of money to buy ETH is the right idea because the most important thing in investing itself is about how confident we are to hold a coin and then, when there is no doubt in it, ethereum is indeed worthy of being the most important investment for anyone.

Once upon a time, Litecoin was regarded as the king of altcoins. But when the ICOs started rolling, Ethereum captured that position. So this is not something that is constant. After a few years, there is a good chance that some of the newer coins may topple Ethereum from the top position. And once that happen, we can expect the Ethereum exchange rates to decline.

Knowledgeable on what subject?? Weather?

Well Sri Lankan board did submit the proposal of hosting IPL and they were the first country to do that so chances are weather might not be a big party pooper here.

I just heard that the situation will worsen more within a few months.
70k + cases and counting so yeah tough time.

Yes. I was talking about the weather. As far as I know, the monsoon season in Sri Lanka runs parallel with the same in India, with the same duration. And also, the island is prone to very heavy rainfall during the Monsoons. That should automatically increase the chances of either Australia or the UAE hosting the tournament (given the fact that both these countries are mostly rain-free during this period).

Took a quick look around the website and it looked like a scam to me. But at the same time, I searched the net for quite sometime, and couldn't find any negative reviews about this project. And also, the domain seems to be registered in the United States (which reduces, but not completely removes the risk). That said, I could notice at least one red flag. They claim that they are operating for more than 5 years. This is definitely a lie, because the website was created in 2018 (Creation Date: 2018-10-23T18:15:00.00Z).

As far as i know India A do visit in SENA regularly. I remember England-New Zealand tour of India A, not sure about U-23 though. Guess its not big news so we don't get to read much about it via print media.

I didn't follow MRF Pace Foundation updates for quite some time now, so no comment.

~snip~
Indeed..

If this is true, then it is definitely good news. I would like to see one more thing. I have seen domestic teams from England, Australia.etc touring foreign nations. For example, Hampshire and Kent from England used to participate in the Regional Super50 competition in West Indies. I would like to see Ranji Trophy teams from India touring some of the SENA nations and playing against the domestic teams there. Another excellent idea would be to allow these teams to tour associate nations such as Netherlands and Kenya.

MRF Pace Foundation is really great aspect for Indian cricket as they have some legendary bowlers from here now they need to give some time again and bring some good bowler now they have some very good names as well like Zaheer Khan and Chaminda Vaas these both can bring some good quality and talent.

I mentioned about the Foundation, because it produced many of the legendary Indian pace bowlers. Starting from Javagal Srinath and Venkatesh Prasad, to Zaheer Khan/Irfan Pathan/Shanthakumaran Sreesanth. But recently, we are not getting quality pace bowlers from this academy. Recent graduates, such as Khaleel Ahmed lack the quality that used to define the earlier bowlers.
I understand but recently board not giving priority as they was giving in past and have Dennis Lillee for very long time with full time duty but now its not in priority as this was so they still can do with some good and quality bowler which give full dedication and bring hungry youngsters for team and country.

Yes. Dennis Lillee was there for a very long time, since the very beginning (1987). He was there for 25 years and played a huge part in training promising pace bowlers. Javagal Srinath was one of the first trainees, and perhaps he was the first Indian bowler who could bowl at 90 mph plus speed on a consistent basis. During the 1990s, he was the backbone of Indian pace bowling attack. But then, Srinath was always overshadowed by the spin bowlers such as Anil Kumble. He never had a large fan following or media backing.
4067  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is the main purpose in gambling, always to make more money? on: May 13, 2020, 05:23:20 PM
At least for me, this argument doesn't sound right. Because there are a lot of people like me, who are recreational gamblers. I gamble, for entertainment purposes and I involve myself in sports gambling, most of the times to support my favorite teams. Given the house advantage, someone who gambles regularly is more likely to lose money than gain anything (unless he rigs the game).
4068  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 90% Of Project Bounties Are Scams on: May 13, 2020, 05:17:35 PM
A bounty manager must be able to filter bounties or projects that will be managed by him and therefore I always follow bounties with famous managers because I am sure they will know everything about quality projects.

How practical is this? There are dozens of bounty managers here, and there is a lot of competition in this field. The top bounty managers such as yahoo62278, Wapinter and Arteezy may be selective about the bounties that they are going to manage, but the lesser known bounty managers don't have this freedom. Unless they have prior information that the particular project is a scam, they are going to accept them.
4069  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Las Vegas Mayor Wants to Re-open Casinos. Thoughts? on: May 13, 2020, 05:11:10 PM
The powerful casino owners do not want to stop the pandemic, however hehehehe. They only want the mayor to declare a reopening of their casinos and risk the people to get sick of the corona virus hehe

Well.. my question is why blame just the casino owners? We also expect the public to behave responsibly, right? Even if the casinos are open, the gamblers should take stock of the situation in their respective areas and control their urges until it becomes safe to participate in such activities. And until then, there is always the option of gambling online, with the numerous digital casinos.
4070  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can I 'delete' useless tokens from my wallet? on: May 13, 2020, 05:05:45 PM
Convert all the tokens to BTC or another cryptocurrency so that no useless tokens remain in your wallet. No way to delete them. Only withdraw or convert.

I don't think that you understood the question. In an ERC-20 wallet, there is no option to convert your tokens. For that, you need to move the tokens to an exchange account and trade with them. But moving out these tokens will incur a certain fee. And that is the reason why the OP is getting frustrated. He doesn't want to spend his hard earned money on getting rid of these worthless tokens.

only if it is solid and famous exchange like binance. on binance every ieo make for it's participants profits. few times i read it is x3-5 in the start of trading. only those who have money can participate.

There is no guarantee that you will get returns all the time with IEOs in Binance. It is true that exchanges such as Binance and Huobi screen the IEOs very carefully before listing them. But then, market dynamics can also have a big impact on the future. So when you go for the investment, you need to craefully analyze all the factors about that particular project.
Since Binance launched IEO, I have never seen them fail. All cashew projects are successful and profitable at least 2-3 times the IEO price. It is clear that Binance is the best exchange and has the best IEOs, which has attracted a lot of investors to participate in their exchange.

I have analyzed almost all the IEOs that got listed in Binance during the last 12 months or so. Some of them have given spectacular gains. One example is that of the BitTorent Token (BTT). The IEO price was $0.00012, and now it is trading at $0.00027. However, there was a time when it went up by 1500%. Another one is the Matic Network. It's IEO price was $$0.00263, and now it's trading at $0.0186.

But then what about projects such as Perlin? IEO price was $ 0.077, and now it's being traded at $0.013. And what about WINk? Got listed at $ 0.00012, and is trading at $0.00007 now.

IPL is profitable for BCCI but not much for CA. they might get some percentage of revenue cut from the BCCI, that's it ... bigger share belongs to BCCI. Plus there is some romanticize factor with the World Cup.

If BCCI thinking about shifting IPL then Sri Lanka seems better candidate to me as its close to India so not much fuss about logistics and SriLanka has lower cases of Covid-19 in comparison of UAE.

I am not much knowledgeable in this subject, so someone can educate me. In Sri Lanka, the Monsoon season is going to last until end of October. So I don't know how it is possible to stage the tournament there, unless they are playing the matches either in indoor stadiums, or grounds with retractable roof. UAE and Australia are viable, because they are mostly free from rains during this period.
4074  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Bad Exchanges on: May 13, 2020, 04:37:18 PM
Yep those are bad crypto exchanges using fake volume just to be no.1 highest volume of all exchanges but still many devs are like to list there coins because of low listing fee I guess.
I totally agree with this, many project developers sort for lower listing fees hence go to exchanges like this even without minding their low reputation. Sometimes they reach an agreement to give a percentage of their tokens to such exchanges, without paying listing fees in BTC, ETH or USDT. I will appreciate developers who build a strong community and go for vote listing on reputable exchanges if they can't afford the very high listing fees, rather than listing on exchanges with low reputation, shitty/fake volume and scam activities.

When they make agreement to forfeit a certain share of the tokens to the exchanges, they are just ringing the death bell for that particular project. I know a lot many cases, where the exchanges dumped all of these tokens in one go, crashing the prices. This is very unfair to the investors, as well as to the bounty hunters. Irrespective of the cost, they should go for the good exchanges.

But need extra push if BCCI wants to improve their record in SENA countries. I hope Ganguly pass some law or something " Go bananas with 25% Indian pitches and turn into heaven for Seam, Fast bowlers __Nightmare for batsmen" make it mandatory for every state.

If they want to improve their performance in the SENA nations, then having green pitches is definitely one of the top priorities. Along with that, there should be a few other steps. About two decades back, the India A and India U-23 teams used to tour countries such as Australia and England regularly. The tours still happen, but they have become very infrequent. Another aspect where I want the BCCI to focus is on the MRF Pace Foundation. Until Dennis Lillee was there (till 2012), it was producing a huge number of quality pace bowlers. But now, the quality seems to have gone down. On paper, Glenn McGrath is the Director. But he has other priorities.

4077  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How would you view an ICO project if it was launched by an accredited lawyer? on: May 12, 2020, 02:16:35 PM
How is this going to make any difference? If the project is not good, it is going to fail at the market. Anyone who invested in it will lose their money. Whether the promoter is an advocate or not is not going to make any impact on the future of the ICO. On the other hand, there are some additional risk factors. He may use legal loopholes, to escape from owning up the responsibilities.
4078  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CORONAVIRUS IMPACT ON SPORTS GAMBLING on: May 12, 2020, 02:08:52 PM
How can there be any sports gambling, when there is no sports events around?
There will be because the sports organizers are already planning to adopt their sporting events based on the current situation.
The proposal that I read online is they will play without fans, and that I think is the best strategy for now, and with that we can again gamble on sports.

Though major sports are not yet live, I still believe soon they'll be able to come back again.

In many of the countries, they are planning to do exactly that. The matches will be played on empty stadiums, without fans. I am in favor of this idea. If the crowd is not there, the chances of the infection spreading is near zero. And at the same time, the government as well as the public will benefit out of it. The authorities will be happy if they get the tax revenue and the public will be overjoyed to watch live action on TV.
4079  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 12, 2020, 01:59:56 PM
Here in Tripura, the state government is saying that their tax revenue has fallen to 1/10th of the normal level. I am sure that the situation is the same with the other states as well. The government can't go on with this lockdown forever, and IMO it won't be extended after May 17th. But regarding the IPL, now it may be too late. In a couple of weeks, the monsoon season will start. The only possibility of staging the IPL is if they move the tournament to Australia. (With COVID pandemic peaking in the GCC, I don't think that the UAE is a viable option to host the tournament).

Already majority (95%) of people don't pay taxes in India and now this... Every country facing financial challenges due to lock down and whole India is in same bracket as well. I would be very surprise if Australia say yes to this proposal, 99.99% they are going to reject this idea even in hypothetical scenario. They might opt for T-20 World cup any day over IPL as WC is more lucrative for them.

I am not sure whether the T20WC is more lucrative when compared to the IPL. IPL is a multi-billion USD event, but then if they stage it in Australia the revenues may be lower. I agree with your post. Australia may prefer the World Cup over the IPL. That said, there is a proposal from the UAE to stage the tournament there:

The United Arab Emirates, which had hosted the the first leg of Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2014, has emerged as one of the options if the Indian cricket board eventually decides to shift the 2020 edition out of the country.
4080  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: May 12, 2020, 01:52:03 PM
Everyone is going down the drain for them but they have very much to gain if they take things seriously (Every crisis brings new opportunists as well). Coming back to India, I would say BCCI need to do something about pitches. India is big country and have many international grounds so they can diversify pitch behavior according to SENA countries, it can benefit Indian cricket in a long run IMO.

Actually this is an area where there have been some slight improvements recently. Some of the new grounds, such as Dharamshala have pitches that give adequate support for the pace bowlers. But in the end, the decision is up to the state boards and not with the BCCI. They will prepare pitches, which will suit their domestic teams. That said, domestic teams such as Punjab have prepared pace-friendly pitches in the past.
