1070, but i like the 1060 also, it depend on your budget here..
and anyway the 1070 can mine ethereum with a very good hash also

Hello. I want to ask in this topic which GPU to use in general. I have the money so there is no problem in that department and I am willing to spend to by a GPU to start mining altcoins with a good card. Reading the topics in this forum I noticed that there are 2 cards that stand out. They are the Nvidia GTX 1070 and the AMD Radeon R9 Nano.
Are these are 2 latest popular cards? Please give me a review and the pros and cons of each in mining.
better to go with the 470 or 480 than nano, since amd is only good on etheruem, and nano is too expensive, i would choose 480 for amd and 1070 for nvidia like you said

with that limit it's pointless to even consider them for mining, unless you want to create multiple account, but the shipping would be a problem

10k value that price is very high and i think it will not happen in 2026 unless if almost all people in the world can be use bitcoin maybe the price of bitcoin will increase more.
if "almost all people" in the world will use it massively it will increase much more than a mere 10k per coin it's not so unrealistic to think about $1M per coin at that point

i think it's just a way for him to instigate a panic buy after what happened to bitcoin, he want to speed up the recovery process...
it's not my profit, i was saying that siacoin is not profitable like other option, the diff is increasing only because of the dual mining thing
not that it matter, siacoin have a bad profit right now, even lyra 2 and spreadcoin are better and eth also, basically on par with feathercoin...

Well I have done a bit of research, back 5 years ago I was pretty fluent in Bitcoin mining. They had stand alone controllers you could use to acis mine, and I used that but it got way to competitive for a hobbyist. But with the new rigs it confused me! And from my research each alt coin used a different algo, which admittedly I'm not very good with fence the question, is gpu mining flexible, or would I be stuck. You answered most of my question tho!
Next question is I've been using site like whattomine.com and cointalk.com (i think it was) then I started reading things saying these site info is not very accurate. Is this true?
they are accurate, talking about whattomine, it's pretty good to have a fast result about profitability, but some coin that are more profitable are not present on whattomine...

The ETC is the best to mine at the moment. It is actually 50% more profitable than the ETH. It changed a lot.
Not any more, the ETC price has dropped 40% in the last day. It is not more profitable to mine any more. The ETC is more profitable to mine now as the price has risen 35% in the last day. The price is so volatile. The ETC price has dropped 50% relative to the ETH price. So it is less profitable to mine now and it is volatile. still slightly more profitable than eth, and it's always better to mine the one were you can accumulate more easily more coins than the other, so i would mine etc

The problem is not the panic selling and the huge dump. The problem is there is no more buying happening anymore before the hack on Bitfinex occurred. I said before that I expected this to be under $600 and stay there until the end of the year. But I expected it to go under $600 around the end of August. So I guess we might see this go up above $600 for a while due to speculations but then go back down and stay there. Many of you will be discouraged by this and that will cause further dumping.
there are buyers, they are just undecided if it's good to buy now or wait for more dumping, i doubt all the 120k coins were already dumped

Something fishy is going on here.
GPU-Z is reporting a powerdraw at around 110w on every card. But my watt meter at the wall is reporting 1255w for the whole rig @ stock clocks.
110x6=660w My system cant pull 595w, more likely around 70w..
Maybe my watt meter is broken, it have to be ?
most likely gpu z is wrong
It should use 700-800Watts. Something is wrong or you are dual mining.
Wow, 6 480s doing 25Mh each can run on 700 Watts? ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) Amazing if true. 700 is bullshit, not true, the lowest is 120w per card so 800w minimum, and it was done with a bios hach, so standard is more like 140-150w per card
beautiful rig!!! how many watts this rig is pulling from the wall? are you using the power connector in these risers? (I read about some rigs people just don't use them) tks!
1000w, but the system is actually using 920w, the 80 watt are lost due to efficiency of the psu for the risers i'm using the standard one, this because since the gpu are drawing a very few wattage, it's pointless to use any other riser, and waste money for nothing those are not 290 amd card that darw 300watt each, also with the H81 pro btc i see no reason to use other risers, and never had any problem in this way
around 20MH 90w, probably a bit more with oc, 24 should be possible with the highest clock
other algo should be in the range of 1/3 less than the 1070
so i recieved 0.1, from the bot, what is the rate exactly, it was supposed to be 0.06 for two weeks plus the phantom bonus that will never happen i presume

just tested the new XFX RX470 4G Core/Mem: 1206/1750 ETH: 21-22M/140w bios is locked, can't overclock memory clock more than 1800 that's not good ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif) 24M+, need 2000MHz memory clock version ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif) 140w? wasn't the tdp 110w? how come it consume like the 480, something not right there

This will not be pretty.
Especially when the shakeout comes but the giga-spike doesn't. Bitcoin is probably going to $8000 - $25,000 a coin. But not quite yet. When? I'm ready I have no idea.... When the shakeout is over? So, maybe in November to February time frame. this year seems very premature for what you are calling, but i'm also waiting for that rally, because we know will happen sooner all later i'm expecting another 10x increase somewhere in the future

useless really, those algo are old and died, no matter what asic will emrge for them, new algo will always come up to kill any asic possibility
they are bound to mine old shit coin only, which are not profitable anymore

here the rig ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FHNrY6XA.jpg&t=664&c=PZX2GFRlwMejVw) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FUnqE2PB.jpg&t=664&c=i4WFMccnVt7R2g) gorgeous - is that a spotswood case? very compact and cleanly assembled. mine has way more zipties holding stuff together. do the rgb LEDs not sync up? The asus strix cards all have matched RGB timing so multiple cards strobe/cycle in perfect unison no it's my case i've built it myself, but i have a better design in mind for the next one, by building it myself i learned that there is no reason to have a very big space between gpu, it's better to put a fan between them, you will get better temp the led apparently were resetted at different time for each gpu after i installed the driver, so the clycing is not homogeneous i can reset it with extreme utility from gigabyte, but to be honest it's not a big deal

Game Over. Not too long for 2k sats.
way too long to get there still 100k sat or around that since this is very profitable it will get dumped, it's normal, still think the bottom will remain at 50k+ uh i was right, the bottom was 50k, now increasing again a little now the demand need to increase or miners need to accumulate without dumping too much because the reward will shoot to 500 slowly
