4081  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Surf-profit.com is a scam or legit? on: July 10, 2014, 03:46:44 PM
Those websites operate as ponzi schemes, very similar to HYIPs, but with surf sites you need to surf a bunch of websites daily to get credit, and your "investment" is buying packs of "advertisement."

4083  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Dr. Michael Moriarty Legit? 24 Hours Will Tell on: July 09, 2014, 11:19:56 PM
This community always knew that user was running doubtful sites like bitplastic, with all his websites about bitcoin, i cant believe how indeed someone deposited 80 k on there.

All I've heard today is this kind of stuff

"We knew he was a scammer"

"We knew his sites were fake"

We always knew never to do business with...."

Then, "I can't believe how indeed someone deposited 80k on there."

Wow, the bitcoin community has really impressed me zero today.  Protect yourselves at all cost but just let Moriarty sit there and scam people. Craziness. Whatever happened to people coming together?  I actually for the first time since I started with bitcoin back in late 2012 now think bitcoin will not make it.  And it will be the fault of the community for sitting around and doing nothing. Me included. I did the interview, and no one messaged me and said, "Hey, Michael may not be who he says" or something.  Nope, sit back and wait till a customer loses 80k then says,

"We always knew he was a scam"

Thanks Michael for destroying my belief in bitcoin.  Clown

You know what they say, hindsight is 20/20. Smiley

As we are constantly monitoring the evolution and changes happening in the Bitcoin eco-system and accordingly need to adapt to these changes to maximize unit holders revenue we like to propose the following changes:

· Convert the outstanding loan of 342.9 BTC to 4,650 PetaMine units (or 0.0735 BTC/unit) which brings the total outstanding units to 82,142.
· Change the dividend payout to 100%. This gives the opportunity for everyone to choose their own reïnvestment level by purchasing additional units with their dividend.
· Do a reverse split were each unit will be replaced by 14 shares, so 1 unit represents 1 GH/s of hashing power.
· Pay dividends every day at 12:00 GMT.

We are issuing a vote whether or not to switch to implement these changes. The vote will only be valid for current unit holders and held until Thursday, July 9 - 12:00 GMT. Votes will be weighted based on the amount of units of each individual unit holder. Based on outcome, we will make the changes to the PetaMine.

Fuck I must have been tired when I read this

Bank clerk warned several times to keep her religious views to herself and to stop bringing religion up to customers

Yeah, that doesn't sit well, she clearly was being evangelical about it, that's a bit like if I sat at a bank and kept on recommending customers use Bitcoin, in fact it would probably worse because it would be helping their competition Cheesy

it's not the same

since you're advertising for your own profit

while she's not

and it's somehow automatical, like when someone sneezes, you say bless you!

Apparently you didn't watch the video, she was proselytizing to customers and, certainly, also to coworkers, she had to go...

People think they can get way with anything if they claim it's their religious beliefs, well, they cannot!

Interesting how much language and how it is used is coming into play lately.  I'd have to give it some thought as to how this will be ruled on, and it would be a guess anyway.   I will say this; whenever some clerk says "Have a blessed day" to me, it irritates me.  While understanding the benign intent, I don't need a stranger's "blessing" on my day.

Maybe we should ask our Christians if they would appreciate "Go with Allah" from the convenience store clerk.
I wonder if the Christian bashing Muslim kiss ass liberals would be outraged if the convenience store clerk (nice stereotyping) got fired for saying "Go with Allah"? I think we all know the liberal double standard answer to that.

BTW, I'm no theologian but how is saying have a blessed day pertain only to Christians? I mean that sounds pretty generic to me.

For instance here is some of the definitions for blessed in the dictionary.
protect somebody or something: to watch over somebody or something protectively.
wish somebody or something well: to declare approval and support for somebody or something.
:  to confer prosperity or happiness upon.
to speak well of.
used in the phrase bless you to wish good health especially to one who has just sneezed .

I don't get what liberalism has to do with this...

But if a muslin was proselytizing to customers the business would get so much complaints he would get fired in the same day, that's for sure.

And tell me nobody is buying she was fired for just saying "have a blessed day."

This could be a beneficial program in any country except the United States, with school and health-care system privatized and enough data people can be denied health-care insurance and school access from the day they are born, very dangerous stuff...

What happened with piratemyfilm.com, none of the projects got funded?

What's this? Never heard of it.

Edit: Ah, I see. "Crowdfunding for pirates." I'll poke at this with my peg leg and get back to you.

Crowd-funding platform for movies, bitcoin only.

4094  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Havelock Investments - Exchange feedback/comments on: July 08, 2014, 11:38:53 PM
Why do some stocks have huge yield (over 500%) while others have the conservative ~4%? Does it factor down to risk vs. payoff?

The formula is:

Annual Yield = (Annual Dividends/Share Price)x100

Annual dividends assumes last dividend.

So for a share that pays weekly:

Annual Yield = ((last dividendx52)/Share Price)x100

Can bank just fire anyone they don't like?

Well, proselytize to customers is more than enough reason to get fired...
4096  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Have a "fired" day? on: July 08, 2014, 03:57:15 PM
Fuckin' proselytizers, they're everywhere...
4097  Economy / Economics / Re: Spain confiscates 0.03% of all bank deposits. on: July 07, 2014, 01:14:20 AM
0.03% is such a small amount for all the bad publicity that comes. Didn't Cyprus take 10% or more?

True, that's 0.03 cents on the Euro, so in a 1000 euros deposit the tax is 30 cents.

Actually this law is mostly for cutting bank's profits, as banks will also pay this tax, and they loan a lot of money to each other without any interest, now they'll pay at least 0.03% on that.
4098  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: blockhain against corruption on: July 07, 2014, 12:57:26 AM
Transparency doesn't end corruption or waste of money.

In my country there's a public database with every deal maybe by the government, it doesn't change anything.
Which country is that?

Portugal.

And it also comes in English: http://www.base.gov.pt/base2/en/
4099  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do you feel about fluoride? on: July 07, 2014, 12:52:06 AM
People say its good for you. They also say cow milk is good for you. They also said smoking cigarettes was good for you. Whats the difference in the 3 of those? Don't force me to drink it by putting it in my water, I could care less what everyone else does. Enjoy drinking your cow puss, smoking your cancer and filling your passive brains with fluoride. And I'll enjoy not having to do any of those things.

what water do you drink? Smiley

My water comes from a spring, that turns into a small creek, that goes into a collection box, that goes into a 4 inch pvc pipe, that goes into a water tank, that passively pressurizes mine and my neighbors houses. The water has not only tested out to be extremely high quality but several of the neighbors have made it to 100 and the kids who grew up there have really good teeth. There is not fluoride in the water.

Of course there is!

Plus it also limits how much banks can charge businesses for accepting debit and credit card payments.
