So, guys, what are your thoughts before El Clasico? Despite everything, I'm backing Barca tonight. I had just realized that with our poor performance and 8th place, we are just 2 points behind Real, they also don't look perfect this season.
Bookmakers also don't have clear favorite today. My common sense says to put draw, but I can't resist from baking Barca.

I would be going with Barcelona too, even though I'm not so sure about the expected performance, and I wouldn't be placing any bet on the match either.

Real Madrid aren't perfect too, but with Benzema in his terrific form, I'd hope Koeman has a plan on how to contain him, or at least make him less effective for the team.

It's the same old shit just a different week for me in the pool, I just keep tanking it and can't seem to get anything right lol, I had Wolves to win, but Nelson Semedo absurdly ruined it late into the game, VAR ruined another 3 point for me in Crystal Palace with Benteke's second goal getting ruled out, so I'm left with just 2.5 points so far, except for whatever I'm able and to savage from Man City's win.

This Lakers vs Suns game is getting hard to watch. The Suns have started flat out disrespecting the Lakers vets and making them look like old men out there. Even the fans are getting in on the act now with a court side fan being removed for messing with Rondo. LeBron checked out of the game and doesn’t seem like he wants to be out there. The new look Lakers aren’t looking so hot thus far…

I pretty much thought watching the Celtics play was the worse thing that could happen tonight, but men this is worse... Westbrook, LeBron and Anthony Davis getting schooled like the odds weren't before the game.

I guess it's going to take a while before these three (AD, Westbrook, and LeBron) would learn to play together, and the body language of LeBron in the 2nd half so far has been a big NO for me,from complaining about almost everything to not joining his teammates up court during transitions.

They did show some promise at the end after the Suns were making them look foolish.  They cut the lead from 30 down to 12 and then pulled the stars.  A good way to end I guess, but it took them being disrespected on their home court in order to make it happen.  I need to find out more about what happened between Dwight and AD.  I'm really hoping tonight was a bit of a rock bottom moment for them and they rally from here and start kicking ass.  I don't think I'm ready to accept that so many of the greats I watched for so long can no longer compete.

I would agree that they were better in the end of the 4th Quarter but it really was just too late already, and moreover I'd also want to believe that the push they tried to make was probably because Suns were already so comfortable, that's if how they played in the first 3 quarters are to be considered. It seem as though they (Suns) were being respectful and all they needed was to make a few buckets after a few possessions thereby taking some time off the clock.

I put a multi bet: Hornets + NYK + Bulls + Boston, it's all ML so hopefully no one will derail my parlay here. Although Hornets vs Cavs are very close, this is the game that I'm watching as there could be upsets as far as my bets.

Bulls as well is behind by 10 points currently against the Raptors, but it's just the second quarter so maybe they can turn it around in the second half. NYK already build a good lead so I doubt that Magic can overcome it. Best of luck to everyone who has a bet on today's game.

Hornets, Knicks and Bulls all came through for you, but Boston Celtics ruined it... I have never watched them played this awfully before, I almost thought we were still in the preseason.

My bet for tonight was actually on the Brooklyn Nets ML vs 76ers, it really was a hard fought win for the Nets, and almost lost hope... 76ers were in the lead for the vast majority of the game, and also a double digit lead with less than 6 minutes to play, but the 15-1 rally and uncharacteristic inability to make the bucket for 76ers really made it almost an easy win the end for the Nets.

I have Arsenal both to win and also in the pool, I really don't why but then Aston Villa seemed to have dropped form a lot.

EDIT: with Arsenal been 2 goals up, there's no way back Aston Villa now, is there ? Funny enough Arsenal should have been up by even more goals if not for Saka being wasteful.
Aston Villa is really bad tonight, they never really properly entered the match. They started playing a little better at the beginning of second half but than Smith Rowe scored a 3rd goal for Arsenal and put the game far out of their reach.

That chance for Saka was a real sitter, have no idea how he managed to miss that. He will be scoring those chances with his eyes close in a couple of years with bit more of experience on his back Smiley

He missed one even before that sitter when Aubameyang tried a overhead kick and missed, I guess when you play in a team like Arsenal you can afford to keep making such errors, when you're almost certain that your place isn't at a threat.

Arsenal are improving under Arteta, they have some good young players. With good coaching & a bit of luck recruiting the right players over the next 1-2 years they could start competing at the top again.

I couldn't agree more, they are more like Chelsea right now before Tuchel took over, I believe if Arsenal are able to get a really good coach right now, he'll be able to impact a style or philosophy easily than it would have been when most of the players are already top stars with their own specific characteristics.

I was able to grab all 3 points in the Sampdoria vs Spezia, but there were a lot of users with the same score.

quite a lot of not so easy pick to make for me, Juventus vs Inter is toughest for me, I'm thinking of going with Juventus, because Inter's form is somewhat questionable but they're the home team, while Juventus seemed to be getting themselves back together 6 consecutive wins in all competitions and 8 games without defeat.

Napoli vs Roma is another hard one to make, but that likely would be a dice throw for me after confirming the lineup.

We have 2 games in Serie A tonight, some of you are still missing predictions - go put them in. Should be an interesting match between Torino and Genoa, I am thinking Torino has a slight edge but there should be goals in any scenario. I am taking my favorite both to score market here and putting it on a multi ticket with Arsenal, already know Gunners will screw me over but that is material for some other topic so....

I missed out on making a pick on Torino vs Genoa, I thought the game was scheduled for later tonight (8pm), I guess it doesn't matter anyways because I probably would have gone for a draw.

I hope the default pick would work out this time around..
4091  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread on: October 21, 2021, 08:11:35 PM

Betting on Napoli would be a no go area for due to the terrible odds at around ~1.20, Not as if Legia Warsaw aren't capable of pulling an upset too.

Even if I'm expecting an easy win for Napoli, that'dsure a bet to avoid for me.
I second you on this one, and according to my experience this turns out to trap when most of us take such small odds to be bankers but game turns out to be a tough one and high chances of the favourite been beaten too.

My bet is actually on Lyon vs Sparta Prague BTTS and then Franfurt vs Olympiakos Over 2.5 goals.

Sparta Prague for me isn't any convincing for me and lyon playing from home will want to impress its fans and not forgetting the away goal was removed so not much motivation for these guys either as far as I can tell.

As for the Olympiakos match am expecting goals in this one as europa games are known for goals.

My bet has been won already just within the first half, I couldn't back on Lyon to win because I know they're not going to have it easy against Sparta Prague, Olympiakos  are also trailing by 2 goals to 1.

Napoli still are yet to find a way past the Legia's keeper,  although they've been very dominant in all aspects of the match.

i am already curious about the game ssc napoli vs. legia warsaw.
legia is in the polish ekstraklasa very far behind expectations but in the el they rank first in a strong group Roll Eyes
napoli must actually win the game today, otherwise it will be very difficult to successfully get out of the group

I think that this should be an easy game for Napoli. Napoli has been on an insane form lately. Although they haven't been that good in the CL, but they are unstoppable in the league. I hope they can bring the same confidence and form into CL as well. Legia is a smaller team compared to what Napoli is, both strength and experience-wise. So I hope Napoli will win this one.

I didn't get up early to catch any of the matches tonight, but I was able get Phoenix vs Denver Nuggets at the final 3 minutes or thereabout, I go a live bet for Under 211.5 @ 1.95

Celtics ML would have been my pick, If I had been able place my bet earlier.

~snip

Atalanta to win tonight, by the way. This is the surest thing tonight.

congrats on a tip
even with Ronaldo on the pitch, United cannot make something meaningful, and Atalanta has 0:2 in Manchester
surprised by this result, that is for sure, and with Villareal up at the moment, they are looking on fourth place in the group

Barcelona took points against Dynamo, and make life easier before second part of group stage, while Bayern is still 0:0 in Lisbon

That was quite a come back from Man Utd, I didn't really see that coming.. I saw that as an already lost match, funny how the only reason why I can't bet against in these sort of games is because of the presence of Ronaldo and that literally paid off.

My Main Bang of the night was the 2.0+ Odds for Juventus against Zenit and the high flying Bayern Munich at 1.5 against Benfica, what could have been more generous from the bookie ??!

If we decide to start fresh, no need for Snapshot, we will just make a new pool which starts from next game week and allow only current participants to join. One minute to set up and Superbru does all the work as usual.
I don't think it makes sense to make fresh start in the middle of group stage.

I think it makes sense, but that's because I have low points now. I admit if we don't start fresh, then I won't continue to play, since I won't have any chance at all Smiley

So I agree with Trofo, if buwaytress wants to sponsor and seems is the only one willing, he should do what he wants.

I can suggest the top 5 in the current group have additional points to start though.

1-1.5
2-1
3-1
4-0.5
5.0.5

To entice them to start fresh Wink

I'm fine with either starting afresh, or to continue... but I must say that the intention of almost everyone who joined already was to pay a small fee to begin with, so starting afresh wouldn't be fair, but I might not be objective enough since I'm currently topping the chart, but if reverse where the case my opinion would've remained the same.

@Buwaytress thanks for always sponsoring...

I think it's quite clear over the past seasons that there are less participant in the UCL Pool, but I think an earlier announcement and collection of fee (on or at least before the competition kickoffs) would be a bit advantageous.

11 goals in the first two games... Shocked
the football evening can go on quietly like this Cheesy

If only, but I guess the set of fixtures we've got later on wouldn't provide as much goals as we've witnessed.

in madrid the scoring continues... 0-2 1-2 after 13 20 minutes already (Griezmann & Milner, Keita) Grin

What a crazy game that was, It felt as if it was going to be a routine win for Liverpool, but then after Griezmann equalized the whole narrative has change, and Griezmann who seemed to have saved the got sent off not too long into the 2nd half.

it's 2-2 still but Liverpool have just been awarded a penalty, and this could it.

Many gamblers expected Besiktas to win against Sporting CP today. But my guess was that Sporting would win today. And I bet Sporting wins. My idea was that Sporting would win 2-1. But my guess proved wrong when Sporting went ahead 3-1 in the first half. Still, it is not clear whether Sporting will win. Because, Besiktas is a good team. I wouldn't be surprised if they scored two goals in the second half. However, if Sporting plays defensively in the second half, they will win

I had bet on Over 2.5 goals and that literally didn't take long to happen, but the game was breathtaking. In the prediction pool I went Sporting to win, and they indeed were clearly the better team. Besiktas were really terrible in defense, and conceded two (almost 3) goals from the same set piece.

EDIT: Sporting have just retaken the lead. It's 1 - 2
