A normal guy 1)probably doesn't know bitcoin 2)when he discover it, he is stopped by the fact that buying bitcoins is not easy.
DialCoin is helping people buying them, that's sure, especially if they manage to get better prices

I tought about that sometime but then i also tought, what if they decide that mining coins is better than distributed computing?

Even with connections typically staying around 8. You need to open the port 8333 8 connections mean it can only connect to the "default" ones

I don't know what tools can currently do this (if any), but the following would seem the best way: 1) have the person send the bitcoins to a new address, 2) have them print a QR code that encode the private key, 3) meet up and provide you with the printed QR code, 4) scan and sweep the funds into your wallet. A tool that makes this easy would be nice...it would make use of the casascius shortened key format if the size of the QR code is a problem. Or you could just tell the guy to send it to flexcoin id : president or whatever... It's the whole reason we built flexcoin is for mobile payments. QR code support, etc.. or you could lug around a laptop .... Or maybe not. Remember guys, do not trust anyone.

Smartphone or laptop, that's all. You give him your address and done. I suppose he has enough brain to be able to type your address in the phone... If he is so idiot, print it in a qrcode.
The wallet idea is nice but less safer. He give you the wallet with the btc inside it but unless you move that btc in another wallet, he can still move them in another wallet...

Because arresting peaceful people is easy?
If you arrest a mafia guy then you have to fear for your family and so on... while from a peaceful guy you have nothing to worry about!

If I loose my wallet and the bitcoins in it, does that mean Bitcoin has forever lost those bitcoins? If people keep loosing wallets, it's not going to be 21 million Bitcoins in 2050. or what is the inflation end date.
Yes, and? It's like gold, if somehow you lose gold (send it in the sun with a rocket) well it's lost.

I always wondered about this. The problem with those heat pumps is that they do not work when the temp is colder than I say around 45 degrees.
The question remains, is the heat thrown from a computer at the same efficiency as electrical heaters?
To also better your argument, the computer uses electric, while most people get much better heat efficiency by using gas or oil for heat.
The question remains? Damnit guys, don't you learn physics at school??? Like, that energy DO NOT disappear? If something use 1kw guess what, it will spit out 1kw of heat, be it a computer or a heater.

I can't figure why one would want to use paypal when deposits to Mt. Gox are now so easy.
Just open a verified account with Mt. Gox and make cash deposits at any Chase bank. Then you can get the best price.
Transferring purchased Bitcoins to your wallet from Mt. Cox are easy.

Buying bitcoins is the problem, it is possible but is not so easy

Download speed of the blockchain is ridicolous and make no sense.
It's a P2P network where there is a 900MB file and pretty much everyone is a seeder. On bittorrent that mean FULL STEAM AHEAD! DOWNLOAD AT FULL SPEED! It should take like 5 or 10 minutes.
Instead here it take 12+hours.......

Alright so another question, say i got a new desktop (made in 2011), would it have a GPU included, or would i have to buy one separate.
Ok time for a little suggestion: study how computers work and how they are before going to buy a new one and trying again mining. From what you write i think you don't know well how things works, so, before you end up spending money in something you don't need or is useless, do your homework and understand how things work Every computer has a GPU (gpu simply mean graphic processor unit), otherwise you would see nothing on monitor. But that doesn't mean it support OpenCL or something else. And, as others said, 0.28mhash/s is pretty useless when a common graphic card can make 300mhash/s or more... A three year old Q6600/2.4Ghz CPU gets about 6Mhash/s I have to fix you. My Q9550 make 20mhash/s. I suppose a Q6600 would make like 15mhash/s or so.

Good lord what are we living in the days of the NAZIS. THis is america people, not hard to find info on anyone, no ones using what you buy on newegg and amazon against you lol, Reading too many books and watching too many movies or something lol. Ok, I understand it can happen, but christ we have grown as a country, if you live in the USA, theres a pretty damn good chance, like 99 percent, that its not going to effect your freedom or what happens to you in your lifetime. We only live for about 60 to 70 years, something major would have to change for that to matter and at that point, bitcoin wouldnt matter or even be discussed, we would be facing much more important problems then buying something online lol.
Hi, i live in EUROPE This is NOT america Bye
