4081  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction causing victim to scam his family on: May 18, 2022, 07:37:54 PM
Was the man playing online or at land based casino? If he was going at a physical casino, does it make sense he had to have an account in order to be able to play?

How was the approach of Boyle Sports when offering and tempting him with 50$ free bet promotions? Was it done presentially, through phone calls or email messages? Well, he could have recorded the casino employee tempting him and denounce the gambling house to the responsible authority or just block the email of the casino to stop receiving messages from them. It's shocking it happened during 2 whole years and this gambler didn't have any conscious moment to take action against the issue and to stop abusing the victim.

I think the article lacks further evidences and details needed to help us reach a more accurate conclusion regards this case. Anyway, I don't see this gambler with good eyes, because he caused prejudice to his acquaintance, what means he has no consideration for other people besides himself. For me he looks a dangerous person for this reason. Moreover, once he got caught he just tried to get rid of the consequences by blaming someone else for his actions (the casino in this case).
4082  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what is the best investment for the next halving? on: May 18, 2022, 06:30:12 PM
I would suggest you to accumulate maximum satoshis of bitcoin as possible while the price is still cheap. There is a decent amount of time until next halving, which gives you perfect conditions to build your portfolio by there. It can be difficult for teenagers to grow their crypto holdings, because they lack income and rely on parents and relatives to have access to basic goods and services, but make some sacrifice if you worry about your future. Save money you receive, invest in bitcoin and also look for earnings opportunities on the internet, even though the payrates aren't good. Every pennies invested in satoshis worth in preparation for the next bull run.

Take the example of the hard-working ants which don't waste a single leaf when gathering supplies for the winter.

4083  Economy / Gambling / Re: Themed Provably Fair Casinos on: May 18, 2022, 05:10:24 PM
Do you prefer Themed provably fair casinos or not. By themed I mean like Tower bet or bitkong style. What are some of the best themed platforms? Any new ones?
I'm not aware about any other exclusive unique game, like bitkong, in crypto gambling sites right now. Gambling sites have really gone into the same path during the last years and offer very similar features and games options. Moreover, sports betting has gained too much influence and popularity in crypto space to the extent that smaller gambling sites lost their participation on the competition for gamblers on this market.
4084  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kwik Trip To Install 800 New Bitcoin ATM on: May 18, 2022, 07:17:35 AM
We have commented on this in the Spanish section. The shitcoins.club ATM network has gone from not having KYC for transactions under 1,000 euros to having it for any amount jusf few days ago. If we think about it, someone with 30,000 euros undeclared could go once a day for a month to convert them for 999 euros without paying taxes to the Treasury.
Now I see why someone would pay 11% in fees to use this, while they could completely make every btc transactions and conversions through the smartphone by using an exchange app, paying much less from anywhere in the city. Cheesy

It seems the measure taken by the regulators was needed then, because it was too easy to move dirty money with the help of these machines, lack of personal devices involved on the transactions and disposable addresses. It's still possible to transact up to 1000€ daily, but imagine how fishy it would be to deal with large sums of money in small portions of 1000€ each day... It's not an efficient method for criminals. I suppose this situation would eventually call the attention of the patrols or cameras around at some point.
4085  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Hunt for new NFT project on: May 18, 2022, 06:09:59 AM
During this bearish market it's hard to find something useful. Everything is dropping. Personally I'm waiting for a good opportunity related to NFT games to appear futurely, for now there is nothing to do, unless you want to throw your money on the garbage can... I see projects being advertised like Up Land, Gods Unchained, Age of Gods... Although none of them have real entertaining gameplay.

Once a 3D, exciting, open world NFT game appears and start being developed seriously in real time, pay attention to it closely, because there is a higher probability to be a gem.
4086  Economy / Gambling / Re: I miss the old OnChain gambling on: May 18, 2022, 03:49:00 AM
The world is changing and you have to change to, if don`t want to be the last. I join crypto world in 2016, but even for this time it was a huge quantity of changes in this world. New cryptocurrencies, new rules, masternodes, DeFi, NFT. There were just several places that need KYC. But everything changes and a businessman has to change his projects to match the current time. This gives us new opportunities, so i willn`t try to remember how it was 5-10 years ago.
Changes and innovation is something inevitable and for an industry like Gambling then it is really that understandable that they would really be needing out adjustments or making something new

which hadnt been existed on the market on where they would really be the first on giving out into the community or offering its service because once its been recognized then it would

really be in resulting for having that attention that they might able to pull it off which would really be good for the business.
Sometimes it not only good for business, in some situations "My dear, here we must run as fast as we can, just to stay in place. And if you wish to go anywhere you must run twice as fast as that."(c) Lewis Carroll.
If you don`t want to lose gamblers you have to involve new decisions that will make gambling easier and more attractive for gamblers. In other ways they will just change casino.
Changes in crypto universe are happening all the time and that is an undeniable fact, however people should be careful to not change too much in a point they are going to reach the same place they were trying to avoid and run far away from a long time ago... If crypto changes too much, it won't have a reason to exist anymore, because it will be the same or part of the traditional financial system which forbids people from freely transacting online, especially at the gambling scene. The fact is that the old good days of crypto universe are gone. They are just memories and nostalgia on the minds of few who were lucky or blessed to be in the right place at the right time.
4087  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambling Brand Name Vs Site Functionality? Or Both? on: May 18, 2022, 02:05:50 AM
Indeed not only brand name, but also design and colors matter, since the first impression is what sticks and will eventually lead the gambler to click a banner or link to access the website, especially if there are many casinos' options displayed at a reviews' site where all brands are shown side by side. If the brand doesn't wake gamblers' attention, functionalities will stay in second plan, as the person won't access the platform to see them all.

Someone might say functionality is what will bring the gambler to the casino, because that is the characteristic which allows casinos to be best rated. However, there are plenty of crypto casinos with very similar rates at the top of review lists. So what defines the casino the person is going to sign up? Of course the one they are more visually sympathetic for... Wink
4088  Economy / Economics / Re: A decision to make on: May 18, 2022, 01:00:37 AM
Would you rather buy a house to live in or rent an apartment to invest in bitcoin  Since bitcoin is experiencing bear what decision will you take make use of the season or let it pass.
To rent a house/apartment for a living is waste of money. The priority should be always own a place for yourself or to live with parents and relatives without paying for the place. Once you acquire your house, you can start investing in bitcoin every month in low amounts of money, so you can enjoy the cheap prices, even though you won't be able to buy large sums of satoshis.

But on long run you will be saving a wage or so every month, since you won't be renting, while increasing the value of your patrimony, because the house you may buy will become more valuable along the years. Moreover, we don't know how long it will take until bitcoin enters a new bull run, so you shouldn't put all your hopes, life savings and tickets on this particular event.
4089  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you knew the founder of Bitcoin, would you still use it? on: May 18, 2022, 12:26:06 AM
What if it was created by one of the worst person ever? What if he wants to make us dependent on bitcoin as much as possible and one day he comes, sells all his coins and causes financial catastrophe.
What if it was created by persons like Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, etc. These are the people who don't respect their customers' privacy.
That would be really worrying for me as an investor and adopter. In that case, I would probably sell my coins and wait until another crypto took bitcoin's place, what should be inevitable on that case, since the market's confidence in bitcoin would instantly drop to very low levels. Actually, the issue isn't to know the person behind bitcoin, but to know it's someone who is used to be an obstacle on the way of independent and autonomous citizens towards freedom, opportunities and better life quality standards. Thankfully, I'm pretty sure it has less than 0,01% of being real, otherwise bitcoin wouldn't have been created in a concept format to help many people to go in the exact opposite way those well known personalities would like people did.
4090  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will LUNA's downfall scare away investors from the crypto market? on: May 17, 2022, 06:24:25 PM
I don't think so, it was an isolated case without any effects on other top cryptocurrencies. As long as investors stay away from shitcoins and altcoins which features similar ecosystems of TERRA (LUNA) they will be fine. The LUNA crash was a learnship for many altcoins' enthusiasts to be more careful in the future regards the conceptions and innovations this market offers. Stablecoins look simple, but that is a sensible matter demanding valuation reserve in non-volatile assets or currencies, such as gold or dollar, instead of cryptocurrencies, like TERRA's CEO tried to do.
4091  Economy / Gambling / Re: How do you advertise your casino? on: May 16, 2022, 10:22:22 PM

Facebook is too restrictive regards crypto content that they have become an unreliable platform to advertise. Instagram is more picture related platform and Tik-Tok video related, and although I'm not familiar with their policies, I think it's pretty possible to advertise gambling content there when adapting the ads to each platform style. On Instagram banners explaining promos could be displayed in abundance and at Tik-Tok short promotional videos could be made. About Bitcointalk specifically, it's more gambling oriented advertisement, because it's a crypto niche which also embraces a significant portion of gamblers' community. So we could say the traffic here is more valuable than the traffic at social medias and that might be the reason why casinos invest so much time and money at the forum.
I think twitter is more wider in adaptivity, when it comes to hashtags and sharing images and videos. The best thing being a photogrpaher I discovered was NFT photographers community, but very bold images which insta would ban due to policy are there on twitter. I think they can try twitter as well.
Yes, twitter is an useful tool for casinos to advertise their promotions, giveaways and special offers and it is really popular among adult users from 25 to 34 years old (38.5%), which fit the target public of casinos. But unfortunatelly, when ranking every social medias of the internet, twitter hits only the 15º position, in number of accounts. Most people are interested in short-videos content these days and casinos need to adapt their marketing to this reality in order to attract attention to their services with maximum efficiency. Even youtube had to adapt themselves to this by creating the "shorts" feature.
4092  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFTs aren't just there yet on: May 16, 2022, 09:51:58 PM
Ape got hacked and many NFTs we're stolen, yet we saw many spending hundreds of dollars for gas fee to buy yacht club NFT the other day, are people dense or what? This shows how unsecured NFTs are isn't it? Other than playing all those play to earn NFT games I have no reason to be this serious with NFTs, I just feel like NFTs aren't there yet, maybe they will some day.

Yeah, NFT have a great future, especially if we talk about NFT Gaming. I am involved in some NFT projects and I am sure they will succeed in nearly future. I heard about blockchain-based NFT Game a few days ago. The devs are making a really good p2e game that will be similar to Terraria.
There are many NFT games being developed nowadays, all of them claiming it's going to be a huge success, but most of them doesn't offer original, innovative gameplay and are just copies of Axie Infinity RPG style. Consequently, they don't make success and become useless quite fast or are discontinued by developers before the launchment.

About this game similar to Terraria you mentioned, what is its name? Is there any gameplay already? Open alpha or beta phase? Or is the team only asking for investments while making promises?
4093  Economy / Speculation / Re: Between $24K and $27K on: May 16, 2022, 06:35:52 PM
Three things stuck in my mind this week:

1. It might take a few more months before BTC's price finally exits the bear market. That is if we have a similar situation to the 2018 bear market where fear and greed levels plateaued for a whole year.
It might take a year or two... Be prepared for every possible scenarios.

2. BTC's price free-fall will slow down between $24K and $27K unless more macroeconomic and geopolitical risks emerge.
Hopefully +27,000$ is the bottom. There is a lot of effort to keep bitcoin above 29,000$ at this moment and that is really nice to see. The longer the price is kept on this range the better for raising morale and confidence among investors. On the other hand, macroeconomical effects are inevitable: in few months bitcoin is probably going to face another crash due to US FED hiking interest rates once again.

3. Short-term holders are responsible for most of the capitulation (day trading and scalping don't fall in this category, right?).
I think it's more about whales and institutional investors. Short term holders don't have too much influence on the market volume... They are small fishes.

But one thing has a high certainty---the bear market is temporary.

The bull is not a matter of if but when.
Totally right! Cool
4094  Economy / Economics / Re: Standard of living on: May 16, 2022, 05:52:34 PM
So i would like to know what the standard of living is like in your country now compared to five years ago. Was there any sharp difference in the standard of living pre pandemic and now. If there is a great fall in the standard of living in your country, have there been any move by the government and employers of labor to alleviate the sufferings of people. People who live in Ukraine, if you don't mind, i think a lot of people would want to know what it is like there too since the war began.
The war isn't an excuse to justify the low living standards of my country. The social and financial situations have always been a mess here. It's a corrupt country where people aren't to be trusted, because they always want to take advantage of each other, from the lowest classes to the highest ones. I live in a rich country from the natural resources and territory size points of view, but all the wealthy given by the nature isn't enough to maintain a greedy wicked system where authorities from the 3 powers (executive, legislative and judiciary) are constantly uniting themselves in order to put their personal interests above the interests of the country and development of its people. On the practice it means authorities are constantly raising their wages, practicing and hiding the corruption schemes of their pairs, creating laws which benefit them and their friends, while also partnering with big businessmen for obtaining advantages and giving advantages at same time. In the end we have a country ruled by greedy corrupt authorities plus oligopolies generated and propitiated by the hands of the first mentioned group.

Of course there aren't perfect countries, but I have the perception mine is a free sample of the hell,... But for degenerated, selfish individuals who think the end justifies the means at all costs, it can be considered the paradise.

Funny thing there is no war here and people are considered pacific, although you can be stabbed in the back at any moment. So at time it's a pro, it's also a con, because in a war, at least the enemies are declared, but in a country like mine you never know who they are or when you are going to encounter them.
4095  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Such News pisses me off! on: May 16, 2022, 04:25:07 AM
It's happening all the time and no one can totally avoid clicking such news. At some point everyone will fall for it. It only gets worse when you access some bitcoin content through smartphone and the google app starts tracking any bitcoin content online and notifying you all day long. This is the most annoying way to get notified about the worse clickbait crypto news disponible on the internet.

I think these kinds of news only lose for those claiming bitcoin is dead a new altcoin is going to take its place.
4096  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Luna Crashed! on: May 16, 2022, 01:57:33 AM

Real or Fake?

The fake news story about Luna Coin crashing and causing suicides is completely unrealistic. There are no statistical data to back up this claim, which means it can’t be true – even though some people believe otherwise!

The news of “8 Confirmed Suicides due to Luna Coin Crash” went viral on Social Media. The story initially started popping up in Pakistani-based media outlets and then made its way onto major Crypto-related Twitter handles – though many have called out these accounts for reporting fake information as they were never able to confirm any such thing happening at all!

Media outlets all over the world were alerted to this controversial story when a Twitter handle claiming ownership of Luna Coin released a statement on their website that eight people had killed themselves due to its recent plunge in value. The first source for viral claims found among those who believed it was legitimate? A Pakistani user @republicdotpk with more than 10 thousand followers!
8 Confirmed Suicide Due to the $Luna Crash. Why Luna Crashed? Truth & Reason Explained

There are no confirmations anyone has suicided because of LUNA crash. So far, the only one to have died on this story is LUNA itself. News and social media profiles telling the opposite are just trying to profit income and popularity through clickbait and fake news.

About LUNA's recovery I'm not sure, because it seems the ecosystem doesn't work at all. Stablecoins must be attached to fiat currencies instead of cryptocurrencies to maintain stability in price while keeping the environment safest as possible for investors.

Anyway, Terra's CEO has come to his twitter saying there is an action plan which consists in "deploying $1.5 billion in capital – in BTC and in UST – to defend the peg".
4097  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin a safe haven??? on: May 15, 2022, 11:29:29 PM
Just compare bitcoin to fiat history since the beginning. That is, check the evolution of bitcoin purchasing power since 2009 and now compare to fiat purchasing power also since 2009.

On that time, 1 bitcoin could probably buy me a bubble gum, while 1 unit of my fiat currency was enough to buy me a 20 fl. oz water bottle.
Now, 13 years later, 1 bitcoin can buy a property, while 1 unit of my fiat currency buys less than 10 fl. oz of a low quality water bottle...

Maybe there isn't anything such as safe heaven, but among the disponible alternatives, I think the preferable one is pretty clear when we think about the potential of each of them on long run.
4098  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Japanese mentality Is dominant here! on: May 15, 2022, 07:12:59 PM
We believe the main problem is with the world monetary system , when U.S. president Richard Nixon devalued the dollar in 1971 made this system handicap. This is why we talk loudly that we need a powerful token to have a new exchange rate system based on industrial values  rather than money markets. We are trying to keep nations close in a decentralized monetary system to create a new international mechanism to stabilize rates. This is the only light at the end of this tunnel! The world economic system has slipped out of control. Some nations are crushed under debt burdens. We know how to create an up to date system for our world survival. Success depends only on the strength of our will.
That is why the japanese Satoshi Nakamoto created Bitcoin! The world should be really proud of this honorable japanese citizen! Cheesy
Without this token cryptocurrency wouldn't be on the currently level of adoption and market volume we see right now. Wink

Jokes aside, Japan is indeed a big example and inspiration for another nations with their hardworking, high quality culture and tradition! A small country that has potential to overcome the biggest ones in every aspects.

We invite you to the Aristo world ! You may enjoy the benefit of the edge of technology!
What is Aristo world, the altcoin you are developing? Why isn't there an official website, roadmap, social medias, contact info linked to this thread?
4099  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Holding or Using ? on: May 15, 2022, 02:27:05 AM
My point is, if we hold btc all the time, where is our profit if it is not used, and if it is just holding without using, how will its value increase?
Your profit is still there, intact, since you don't use it and it will remain like this until you use it or until the currency's value oscillates. Solely holding doesn't make bitcoin price increase, but it surely helps bitcoin price to increase, because this way enthusiasts are retaining supply, what means there will be less coins disponible on the market for sale. Less supply plus increasing demand makes the magic happens...

And why are we happy when we see someone buy something from btc?  This issue has been circulating in my mind for a long time, what do you think about it?
Because we see bitcoin usage is rising and bitcoin is becoming more popular. That is what every adopters want for financial or ideological reasons.
4100  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin fall below $30k on: May 15, 2022, 12:00:02 AM
Seeing the last few days trend, I can say that Bitcoin will struggle in the range of 27-29k USD.
This is just a bearish trend of Bitcoins, soon the resistance will break and again Bitcoins will rise.
...

The Federal Reserve is probably going to do another rate hike in June.
Higher interest rates are bad for crypto - and bad for all other risk assets.

Until the major central banks return to a loose monetary policy we will not see a considerable higher BTC price.
It makes me believe it's really possible for bitcoin to hit 25,000$ and deeper once this happens. On short-medium run the situation looks pretty bad for bitcoin. At same time it's a great opportunity for buying cheaper and to start accumulating some coins, especially for new adopters who were waiting for an affordable price to purchase their first holdings. It's also a good moment for enthusiasts to gift people they want to see adopting bitcoin with some satoshis. Anyway, I don't expect the inflated interest rates policy can last for a long time without harming the economy. Maybe from the next year on bitcoin begins the recovery process without corrections.
