4101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: #OccupyCBN Nigeria’s Central Bank Orders Banks to Close Accounts of Crypto Users on: February 06, 2021, 08:58:03 AM
Thats the current situation of crypto regulation in Nigeria, the statement was issued yesterday by the central bank of Nigeria. Nigeria currently has a high rate of unemployment amongst the youths, and the country's young population have delved into crypto trading and investment, most especially Bitcoin, it comes as a surprise that the government is trying to block that source without adequately providing for it's pupulace.

The community of crypto users in Nigeria are quite knowledgeable on the network, so they'll prolly know how to circumvent this ban, the thing now is, p2p vendors in the country could hike their conversion to naira price, making things difficult for crypto users in Nigeria.
4102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: February 04, 2021, 05:52:30 PM
I'm really looking forward to the Tottenham - Chelsea game tonight. Tottenham is still without Kane and Reguillon, while Tuchel has a full Chelsea team at his disposal.
Very important match for the both teams, they both looked like title contenders and even favorites at one point this season, but all that seem to have evaporated and now even a top four finish for Chelsea and spurs looks unlikely, this is a big game to grab momentum for them, but imo, Chelsea look like the team more fitting to get the victory tonight.
I think it will be a pretty closed game defensively, Mourinho will want to defend first and attack through Son and Bergwijn on the counterattacks and Tuchel will be satisfied with a boring draw.
I don't think Chelsea and Tuchel will be satisfied with a draw, Chelsea have been playing a somewhat less defensive football this season, both under Lampard and Tuchel, but Mou on the other hand is always satisfied to sit back, and hit on the counter, it worked at the initial stage of the season, but it no longer is, if Mou still has any plans of fighting for the title, then he needs to change the pattern his team plays.
4103  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: February 04, 2021, 04:03:44 AM
This poor result gave Manchester City the opportunity to last longer in first position. The current point gap with Liverpool has become 7 and that will make it even more difficult for Liverpool to continue their journey toward the title race.
Pretty difficult, if Liverpool lose this weekend to City, then the points gap Increases to ten, with a game in hand, if that happens I think Liverpool can kiss their title goodbye, it's been almost impossible winning Liverpool at Anfield, but after two latest loss on their home ground, this could give City confidence going into Sundays match, Manchester City always struggle to take anything away whenever they visit Anfield, but it looks like Liverpool's confidence is bottom low, and pep could lead City to a long awaited victory at the home of the current champions.

City would prefer a title race with United, than with Liverpool, cause I think it'll be easier for City; and that looks like exactly what's going to happen if Liverpool continues playing like this.
4104  Economy / Economics / Re: What if you had invested bitcoin instead of gamestonk? on: February 03, 2021, 01:40:45 PM
There are prolly quite a lot of stocks, as well as investments that I would pick Bitcoin before, not even cause such stocks or maybe Investment options like gamestonk is clearly bad, but basically cause Bitcoin is better and offers more to it's community of users. Since the influx of traditional institutions into BTC last year, the message became somewhat clearer that there's certainly more fate now in Bitcoin; people are in a frantic search for a hedge against the inflation coming for our fiat currencies, and last but not least, it's a great feeling 'banking' yourself, all that which BTC affords.
Is bitcoin much more resistance to such wild swings? Is bitcoin much resistance to naked short selling?
Bitcoin isn't a 'safe haven' to explicate it using that term, but Bitcoins resistance to certain events is waxing stronger as the network improves with the passing year, 2020 was a good test with the pandemic, one that BTC passed with a good mark, Bitcoin may not be totally resistant, but with the backing of institutional Investors now in the market, sharp and significant plunges will reduce significantly.
4105  Economy / Economics / Re: Does Bubbles add real Value to economic growth? on: February 03, 2021, 09:10:10 AM
The Bubble you're referring to is in the area of cryptocurrency I guess, and you're equating it being able to provide growth in the traditional economy, this isn't possible. Having said that, if it's simply based on cryptocurrency value/growth, imo, hype is what results in a Bubble most times, when certain individuals or sporadic appreciating price movements causes an Influx of Investors into a network, it usually causes a spike that's most times called a bubble when it actually dumps, imo, it can add value in the sense that it increases the demand (investors) for such coin, and if it does maintain it's value and doesn't plunge, then it wouldn't be referred to as a bubble.

But most often than not, it crashes/dumps, then people make assertions that 'the bubble has burst', that way it fails to add real value to the growth of the particular network, Bitcoin was once touted to be a bubble initially when the price started to appreciate, but after a period of sustained development, it's now overperformed to be called that anymore, that would have been the case of most coins that have been called bubbles if they didn't 'burst'/dump.
4106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 03, 2021, 08:50:46 AM
I am happy for him on this deal. I think he is quite talented. He is also only 23 years old. I really liked him in some games when he was at Arsenal. Therefore, I think West Brom did a nice thing by signing him on loan. I believe he will make a good contribution to the team.
It's only good for Maitland-Niles cause it's a loan deal and there's still possibly of him returning to the Emirates if Arsenal have that at the back of their mind, most times loan deals helps the players to get more playing time especially when the move is to a smaller club like in the case of Niles here, I hope big Sam gives the lad a chance to show himself, and increase the possibilities of Arsenal wanting him back, it'll turn out to be a terrible deal if West Brom gets relegated and he has to go down to the championship with them, that'll be a big dent to his career.
4107  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2020/2021 on: February 03, 2021, 08:43:01 AM
I think Man City will secure 3 points against Burnley in the next match. They have no problems with Burnley and all players of Man City now have good motivation to win every single match. Moreover, next, they will against Liverpool, it will be a difficult game, especially playing in Liverpool home. So, I am sure Man City will maintain to lead the table with 3 points in the next match.
Manchester City should have little or no problems whatsoever putting Burnley away, they are used to defeating the clarets with over five goals, and today's game may prolly not end with that scoreline, but a win for pep and his boys is certain imo, and that will take them three points ahead of Manchester United, in addition to a game in hand, City still clearly have the advantage.

Having said that, the more important game is against Liverpool at the weekend, nobody remembers the last time City won at Anfield, though this time around, my heart tells me it's about to change, the game will be decided by the smallest of margins, City looks like the team that will get the edge at the end, I predict something of a tight 2:1 victory in favor of Manchester City, to end their winless run at the home of Liverpool.
4108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: February 02, 2021, 02:46:28 PM
Pep with his team still leading the way. with 11 consecutive win on january on now they are in top of the table with 1 more games between other big six teams. such an easy season i guest
This season is anything but easy, if you have forgotten so quickly, City had a very poor and slow start to the season and as you can see from the league table, despite their consistent form of late, they aren't too far from the teams in second and third positions, and as we know, anything is still possible.

But having said that, atm, City look like they are the title favorites, and if they can win against Liverpool this weekend, then that will give them an added boost and motivation in this title race, City have fixed their defensive woes and are the team to have conceded the least in the league this season, and to add to that, they are a deadly force when going forward. With an impregnable defense and players that can score 3 goals or more in a blink of an eye, I think City will be champions of the EPL this season.
4109  Economy / Economics / Re: Indian Economy to grow at 11.5% in 2021 say IMF on: February 02, 2021, 05:49:56 AM
I wonder how they managed to develop their economy in pandemic year. Maybe their government was clever enough not to introduce quarantine limitations and total lockdown like many other countries (USA, UK, Germany, Ukraine, Italy, Spain, etc.).
Of course, lockdowns and quarantining protocols were implemented in India, as is expected, especially in a country like India that has recorded more than ten million covid-19 positive cases. They haven't developed their economy per se, they prolly have taken a little step forward, which every country's economy will see now and then, but economic recovery is still pretty far. The vaccine is in one way or another the panacea to all of this economic plunge, if the vaccines stops the spread, then the workforce can become effective again, though it'll take a pretty long time before country's start to experience economic normalcy again.
4110  Economy / Economics / Re: Trading Bitcoin in Africa Is a Way for Some to Escape Poverty on: February 02, 2021, 05:31:15 AM
Bitcoin having humanitarian qualities and helping the poor, is one of its most neglected and underappreciated aspects.
It is prolly underappreciated cause it's not one of Bitcoins core qualities and also because there is no guarantee of success for people who want to trade or speculate with Bitcoin to escape poverty, they could still prolly lose their funds, most likely loans or borrowed money, since the thread is about the 'poor'.

Bitcoin as a currency is used by quite a lot of people for one distinct reason or the other, but what one can categorically state assuredly that users of the network are bound to be privileged with control of their funds, freedom from third parties and manipulation, the responsibility of being their own bank etc, this are some of the guarantees (core qualities) on the network, getting rich is also quite a big possibility, though if that quality is mentioned to newcomers, it's often misunderstood as a get rich quick scheme, which prolly causes them to make mistakes, that could be why that aspect/quality of the network is somewhat 'neglected'.
4111  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 31, 2021, 04:08:04 PM
According to some rumours, Manchester Utd are eager to sign 22-year-old Sevilla defender Jules Kounde in this summer. They are willing to pay the transfer fee that is needed. His market value is €50m now.
I'd be surprised if Manchester United signs Kounde for this amount, I didn't even expect United to go in search of a defender this January, as they've spent quite a lot on defenders in the last couple of seasons, neither is their defense plagued with injuries, as that will be the only excuse to go for a new center back, though they could be looking to strengthen up their team to push for the title.

Quite a lot of transfer business is yet to happen till now, though deadline days are usually bound to be the busiest of days in the transfer window, so I'm pretty sure there'll be some significant signings before the day runs out.
4112  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Rules for profitable investments (crypto) on: January 31, 2021, 02:42:40 PM
No coin is a waste, time will tell
Imo, this is not true. There are quite a lot of altcoins that are a waste and one should not put a 'dollar' into them, if you think "no coin is a waste" or in a different term, you try "diversification", then you're definitely going to lose quite a lot of money to scam projects, pump and dump coins, projects with reincarnated use cases etc, there are more coins that are a waste, than even the legitimate ones.
4113  Economy / Economics / Re: Would another war in the middle east affect crypto on: January 31, 2021, 02:32:46 PM
The level of the war will also determine the impact it will have on crypto and other Investments, if it's a war between just two countries, then there'll definitely be a plunge, but it's highly improbable that there could be a war between just two countries, as allies of both parties are always bound to join in that battle and make it a full blown war.

Having said that, a war is really marked with destruction, and in the event it happens in major world power nations, then crypto would plunge massively, as well as other investments, it's people who pump money into these things that makes it grow and continues to appreciate, in a war, only one thing comes to mind, and that's survival. An economic plunge, printing more money etc, can affect crypto positively, but I think a war is too extreme, and could severely harm the currency. I wouldn't even try to put my money into anything in an event of a war, I'd be worried only about staying alive.
4114  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Advantage of cryptocurrency above other currency and stock market investment on: January 31, 2021, 01:52:21 PM
Other than the mistake of referring to crypto as a business, you haven't mentioned the true pros of decentralized cryptocurrencies, or rather Bitcoin, cause the generalization using cryptocurrencies, will as well include altcoins, of which most are scam projects, pump and dump ones, or aren't sustainable for the long term, and can only generate short term ROI.

Having said that, advantages of Bitcoin would include things such as Freedom and control from third party, the 'be your own bank' part and a host of other things, most Bitcoiners are in the network cause they control their funds themselves, and thus it cannot be manipulated, and for Investment reasons too, as a hedge against fiat Inflation/devaluation.
4115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 31, 2021, 10:01:51 AM
Manchester City have turned down the chance to re-sign Bosnia-Herzegovina striker Edin Dzeko, from Roma. Dzeko is in a quarrel with Roma, Manchester City doesn't want him back, where he will eventually go?
I never expected City to make that deal and bring Dzeko back, pep is already getting used to winning without a striker, since having Aguero and Jesus out for a considerable period of time this season, I don't think there's any reason for City to even sign another striker, Jesus is back in action and soon Kun will complete his return from covid-19 isolation, City are in good form and just as pep has said few weeks back, they aren't ready to make any additions in this January transfer window.
Spain defender Sergio Ramos, is ready to quit Real Madrid and is interested in a move to Manchester United. Will Real really give up their playing legend?
Talks of Ramos leaving Madrid for United is an odd one, I don't know how true this news is, or if it's just a rumor, I'd consider Sergio to be a player to finish his career at the Santiago Bernebeu, and that could still very well be possible.
4116  Other / Off-topic / Re: Don't let your dick go online! on: January 31, 2021, 06:51:39 AM
Companies that produce sensitive things like a 'Chastity cage' need to ensure that data breaches (hacks) are either impossible or when done, they do have a quick solution to solve the issue, or else quite a lot of users of such products will run into trouble sooner, rather than later. The thing that prolly connects us (the Bitcoin community) though, is the currency (Bitcoin), the hackers demanded the ransom be paid in, they'll prolly get into a pickle and could be traced if they demand their ransom in fiat, so they choose BTC thats renowned for freedom, lack of control and untraceability to a large extent.
4117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2020/2021 on: January 31, 2021, 02:42:01 AM
Here is the current Premier League table:
Really interesting just looking at that table and seeing how quickly things can change, teams can drop below and others take their positions immediately, the points gap is unbelievably tight, Leicester has a chance to claim second position from Manchester United having played one game less and are two points behind them, I think at the end it's still going to be a two horse race between City and Liverpool like we predicted from the beginning, I can't trust United to maintain a sustained form and compete till the end.
Do you think Leeds could shock Leicester tomorrow ?
Leeds are in a bad form, and anything is possible, but imo, it's going to be a routine win for Leicester, they have their eyes set on second position, and a win will take them there, and closer to City, I expect Brendan Rodgers' boys to get the job done.
4118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: bull run is coming and just waiting for your turn on: January 30, 2021, 06:13:06 PM
Altcoin season is here and it will probably continue if bitcoin prices don't fall on a large scale. While bitcoin continues to get a lot of support from various institutional investor making it difficult to drop in large numbers, this will help the altcoin to continue growing.
I second that too, since Bitcoin will prolly continue to appreciate in price, and ethereum for example has been known for following Bitcoin price movement, so it's an indicator that eth and few other good altcoins will see better days going forward.

Dex cryptocurrencies in general is garnering more trust; people and Investors, even institutional Investors now believe in the potentials Bitcoin has to be a currency, Investment option, a hedge against inflation and other whatnots and this trust is definitely going to shift to the altcoin network, with coins that are willing to develop their ecosystem.
4119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good news for XRP on: January 30, 2021, 05:52:45 PM
as of the moment, ripple price is making a big rally, this might be because of the news circulating that they have won the lawsuit, and there is another article or post that ripple price will rise on February 1, lots of people believe in this news, I have heard it but its really making the market go wild for ripple, and people are buying lots of ripple , in the market, what do you think about the news is it true?
Quite a lot of news making the rounds on Ripple of late, it's difficult to tell which is genuine and which is purposely generated to pump the coin, I'd personally not invest in Ripple atm, neither will I hodl on If i was an Investor, you can't really trust most of the news from the media, nor take it as a reason to Invest, anyone interested in XRP, should prolly wait till there is a legitimate info on the verdict of the lawsuit.
4120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The low latency and scalability issues plaguing Ethereum.  on: January 30, 2021, 05:34:32 PM
The coins you've mentioned that's going to compete or rather take the "shine off" ethereum also have their own cons and that's what it is about the network, Ethereum imo are doing pretty well and definitely have plans in motion to solve majority of the issues their community of Investors have complaints on. Having said that, ethereum has been on the altcoin network and in second position for quite a long time, that shows consistently in development from their devs, but some of the coins people call "ethereum killers" are pretty new on the network and could be pump and dump coins in the long run, as some have proven to be in the past.
