4101  Other / Off-topic / Re: Consensus on Colors on: March 14, 2021, 11:54:17 AM
Hey everyone,
This is fairly random, but I just thought of this fairly complex psychological question and wanted to get other people's opinions on it. Essentially, how do people universally know that a particular color looks the same? A color is initially learned, and later communicated, by association. If I see a stop sign that to somebody else may look blue, for example, the person seeing blue would still consider the color to be red because somebody else had taught that person the association between objects and color. Is there any way to recognize if a group of people can see color differently? Obviously color-blindness exists, but I'm thinking more in the realm of seeing a different color altogether. The only thing I can think of at the moment is if two different, otherwise contrasting colors, do not mix together, then that could indicate different color perception.

I read an article about someone explaining colors to a blind person. He said for example green, is the fresh color. The gras is green and when it is freshly cut the air smells especially fresh. Or the ocean and sky is blue, so a fresh breeze in the summer morning is refreshing. So even though a person can't see a color we have the same feeling as humans. Giving names to these feelings a just a way to communicate. When not looking at the color blind people, I think the awareness of humans is pretty similar across the board.

Exactly. That is why red is associated with hot (or warm) and blue for cold. Because the fire is red-orange in color and cold objects are usually darker in color (especially at night because due to lack of light everything turns to darkened shades of gray). And blue is at the opposite end of the color spectrum.
4102  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin back to $ 10,000? on: March 14, 2021, 11:27:55 AM

My prediction is that BTC will keep the lowest value somewhere between 10k and 50k. That's the best I can do right now.  Cheesy

If it goes below 10K, my wallet is ready. Healthy correction, here we come Grin

Yeah! Yeah! With that prediction, I'm actually going to be able to afford a whole bitcoin. Just bring it on!
4103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It is not easy to make money in cryptocurrency on: March 14, 2021, 11:24:26 AM
Making money is not easy anywhere. Do you know ways to make money quickly? Without understanding the matter, you will not be able to get anything but disappointment.

For beginners, it is better to start with cheap coins that have potential, and only then move on to big trades. Examine all the possible risks!

For beginners, it is better to start reading on the coins you are about to invest. It doesn't matter what kind of coin it is, what matter is that you, yourself, see what the coin does and how you can see it grow.

This can make you grow as a trader as you see where did you go wrong, or how you did it right.

I agree. The quality of a coin is the most important thing for a cryptocurrency investor. You must buy a coin that has the high adoption rate, wide public support, global reach, as well as a technology that provides the coins with new properties.

Also, a good starting point for a beginner is to read the news related to the coins, the developers' blogs, and the traders' blogs. If you read one or two things about the coin and the community, it will help you know if this is a coin you can be investing in or not.
4104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ethereum wallet, choosing one on: March 14, 2021, 11:18:14 AM
looking for a software wallet for eth, not hard, just for cold storage, not a browser plugin. running on pc and android possibly

If you're looking for a wallet just for cold storage, then I don't understand the need for an android version. You don't need a wallet if you just want to keep track of your portfolio on your smartphone.

As for the wallet suggestions, I believe other users before me have already listed everything.
4105  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: March 14, 2021, 11:09:45 AM
Actually, there is still hope this season that FC Koln will escape relegation.

However, the hope of survival is quite slim. A relegation can be called a relief to FC Koln in one way because it will save them a lot of money. The club has been operating at a deficit for some time, and this is going to add to the financial burden that they will carry on into the next season.
4106  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin back to $ 10,000? on: March 14, 2021, 10:56:54 AM
What threshold will bitcoin go down this year?

Traders and investors should be prepared for the sky to come crashing down and then recover, as it inevitably has in the past. But the value of bitcoin will have to keep rising at a significant pace to meet the expectations set by this year's extraordinary rally.

My prediction is that BTC will keep the lowest value somewhere between 10k and 50k. That's the best I can do right now.  Cheesy
4107  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Play to earn btc. on: March 14, 2021, 10:48:14 AM
I've never come across a game that pays BTC that's interesting and worth playing. If anyone has an example, feel free to suggest here.
Most of those that can be found at play store, pay less than average faucets and the others are just plain scam.

4108  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Brute Force And Seed Phrase Security Questions on: March 14, 2021, 09:49:39 AM
I got to assume someone who brute force has to eventually hit just one address with coins right?  I just find this really damn hard to believe.  Surely someone has hit one bitcoin or crypto address right and not said anything about this?

No, that's incorrect. It is impossible for anyone to generate a private key to a Bitcoin address and find the corresponding public key that has some bitcoin in it. There are simply too many combinations. 2^160 is such a ridiculously large number that it's hard to even imagine it.
4109  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you think about these Domains on: March 14, 2021, 09:07:32 AM

betbitcoin.live

bitcoinbets.live

thanks for comments.
Since you are going to sell the domains , I think only these 2 are the attractive and will gain support and easy buyer .

Because they both stands easy to remember and attractive for crypto bettors.

I agree. These two are the only domain on the list that are attractive to me.
But personally I would not buy such domains second hand. There are many unused brandable domains that can be found with little effort. Especially with these new extensions, like .live and many others.

Nice work guys, btw.  This is one of the most blatant attempts by a crypto casino to exploit the community in hopes to help their image and damage their competitors I've ever seen.  I can't believe they're still even trying after past few months. Gonna do some more digging.

I think it's pretty obvious that's not going to work, I wonder what their next plan will be as I'm sure they won't stop so easily.

Nice find, btw.
4111  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Weirdest bitcoin/altcoin project? on: March 14, 2021, 08:42:40 AM
One of the weirdest (dumbest) crypto tokens I've seen in the past is certainly UET.
Useless Ethereum Token is exactly what it seems - the first token that transparently offers investors absolutely nothing.

Even their website said: "You're going to give some random person on the internet money, and they're going to take it and go buy stuff with it. Probably electronics, to be honest. Maybe even a big-screen television. Seriously, don't buy these tokens."  Cheesy

1) BTC - the only future - digital gold. that's it (until quantum computers don't crack it in minutes)

The technology that is called "quantum computing" has gone through a lot of hype recently, as a huge number of computer scientists, academics, and quantum physicists are very optimistic about it. However, the topic of quantum computers is shrouded in mystery, as there are still a lot of unsolved problems with them. It may come as a surprise to hear, but there are a lot of things that quantum computers cannot do, and the full extent of that is starting to become clear to even the most hardcore of quantum computing researchers. They've discovered that classical computers are actually quite good at some things that quantum computers will never be able to do. Despite the early promises of a quantum computer that will one day break all of the existing algorithmic and computational rules that govern today's technology, we are still at least a decade away from making such a machine a reality.

...only focusing on attacking Adkinsbet without being objective.

Without being objective? It's funny to hear that.
What part of my question in the Adkinsbet topic do you think was not objective? However, it was deleted within a few minutes. So legitimate questions are not allowed there?

And you're talking about objectivity ...

So this is the new official thread for Adkinsbet? And who is the representative of the company on this forum now?
I see member adkinsbet_official to post here, but that user was registered only a few days ago. Why a new account?

But that would mean you have to disassemble the device to install it in a new case? I'm not sure this is a viable option for the average user.

Yeah sure I guess it is more viable for them to pay €506, €844 or €1,688 for Corazon Trezor that has 100% identical inside, than to spend few minutes to open, destroy old plastic case and print your own metallic case.

Uh, with such a hefty price tag, I guess they're made more like a luxury status symbol than out of sheer usefulness.
It's strange that no one on the market offers models with metal case for a more acceptable price.

AZ is just the commercial factory not the designers

hmmmm.....
so designed by Oxford.. and um.. given to the queen..
given to oxford and cambridge and eton university lecturers (the elites who teach the elites)
dang.. if its good for the queen and the elites ..
...then its good for the poor too. ..and everyone inbetween

This is what we get when serious discussions like this is lead in local pubs and online forums instead of in scientific circles among experts in the field.

1. Cloud mining

The bitter truth is none of these so called cloud mining are real, they have no proof that they own any mining farm or whatsoever and later they will exit scam on you while you least expected, what 99% of them do is running ponzi schemes, paying B with A invested money or coins

This one is the hardest to spot as a scam especially when you are a newbie to the crypto industry, you will think that this might be the safest and nicest investment you will have in your life. Most of the Cloud mining sites or companies took some years or two to show their real colors. When they first introduce themselves in the first few months they won't delay their payment as if they are pretty good. Most of the time, when their clients witnessed such good behavior from them, they will make countless positive reviews that you might think they really are legit like those people said. You just don't know that they are one of the victims too that will take a few months later before they knew it. To make it short, after they've gathered enough funds from their investors, they just simply disappear without a trace with their investor's funds. You can read more of their evil strategy here: https://news.bitcoin.com/hashocean-cloud-mining-scam/

You can never find one honest cloud mining of anywhere, it's full of scam and ponzi sell out.

Be careful and don't use this kind of things, this is not something related to cloud mining that I had experienced so far but I still feel that some of them are are running such illegal operations.
4118  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: POLL: Have You Ever Used the Lightning Network? on: March 09, 2021, 09:56:19 AM
Is Electrum not so good for Lightning payments or are the other wallets too good for them ?
I haven't tried LN on Electrum. It requires you to manually open a channel, and after trying that on several wallets, I came to the conclusion that it's much easier to use a wallet that does everything for me.

So by the term "does everything for me" you mean it automatically opens a channel for you right ?
Even if it does it automatically, you would still have to pay the fees for opening the channel right ?

BlueWallet doesn't require opening an LN channel. As LoyceV replied, this custodial part of the wallet where the channel is already open on their side. You just need to transfer part of the funds from the main chain to top-up the LN wallet.
4119  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: hardware wallet on: March 09, 2021, 09:37:35 AM
Most hardware wallets are much more durable then USB drives

No their are not.
Most hardware wallets have warranty for just one or two years, and they have many extra parts like screens and buttons that can often malfunction.

USB drivers on other other hand have no extra parts and they can last for years without any issue, and they have five, ten years and some even have limited lifetime warranties.

I do not know. I thought their housings were made of stronger materials rather than cheap plastic, like most USB drives. At least that's what the Trezor looks like to me. But I understand your point, more extra parts probably means a higher risk of failure.

And I would not pay anything for fancy metallic case for Trezor/Corazon, because I can make my own custom metallic case locally for just few dollars Smiley

But that would mean you have to disassemble the device to install it in a new case? I'm not sure this is a viable option for the average user.
4120  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: hardware wallet on: March 07, 2021, 11:35:03 AM
Most hardware wallets are much more durable then USB drives, but this is not always the case. If you are someone who likes to travel a lot with your wallet, having a good quality one is an absolute must. The only solution is to use a high quality materials for the case.
This is likely to have a huge impact on the overall price of the unit, which is the main complaint.
