4101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks hope to issue their own "bitcoins" to fight BTC on: March 07, 2021, 09:35:34 AM
Most person's have already lost confidence in the banking systems controlled by the government, in an age like this, most people are seeking control over their personal issues especially things like finance.
4102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Younger Generation and Revolut on: March 07, 2021, 09:32:20 AM
Today my daughter put her first bonus pay into Bitcoin.

She is well aware that I have Bitcoin for a few years and today out of the blue
decided to make the move

.
Firstly the fact that your daughter who i presume is very young has an interest in crypto is something i find very commendable. With such a mindset of investment at a yiung age, She will turn out tobe a millionaire at a very early age.
4103  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Sleep Mathematics. on: March 06, 2021, 08:48:07 AM
It's not how long you are awake, but what you do with the time you are awake. Let's put aside that researchers like Mathew Walker suggest that a minimum of 7 hours of sleep is needed, the thing is that more waking hours do not equate to more positive output or output in general. So when calculating the time spent sleeping through your lifetime, you need to compare your waking hours to something it can be measured to, something that has value. So maybe try to broaden your equation to add a median of quality waking hours so that we have an idea of what to measure the sleep against.

In concordance with you, i'd like to add that being awake and unproductive is equivalent to sleeping all day.  So instead of staying all day awake being unproductive, it is best you increase your sleep time, lol.

After reading your comment, a new light of thinking is that - it is possible for one to be more productive in sleep as well.
4104  Economy / Economics / Re: 'Cryptocurrency is not legitimate money,' says Nigeria's central bank governor on: March 05, 2021, 06:12:29 AM
Godwin Emefiele, governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, has defended the apex bank’s decision to ban banks from servicing cryptocurrency exchanges in the country. Appearing before a joint Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and Other Financial Institutions; ICT and Cybercrime; and Capital Market, Emefiele remarked that the CBN ban was in the best interest of Nigerians.

According to a report by media outlet Punch, while addressing the Senate committee, Emefiele remarked: “Cryptocurrency is not legitimate money. Cryptocurrency has no place in our monetary system at this time and cryptocurrency transactions should not be carried out through the Nigerian banking system.”
The CBN governor also reiterated that despite the ban, the central bank was doing its due diligence to better under the emerging digital asset space.

The CBN governor also reiterated that despite the ban, the central bank was doing its due diligence to better under the emerging digital asset space.

Nigeria SEC in support of cryptocurrencies while CBN not in support, p2p has been the best though, no bank charges and no conversion charges.

The Central bank of that country Nigeria is an extension of the federal government. And from the comments online that we have both read and heard from most officials occupying top government positions in that country, it is obvious that many of them are underinformed, misinformed or still holding on to old knowledge amd refusing to regard change
4105  Economy / Economics / Re: Could science fiction based carbon coins save our planet on: March 05, 2021, 05:48:43 AM
CO2 emissions is on the rise and our planet is in danger. Carbon coins could just be the answer. The entire concept to issue out carbon coin incentives to industries and individuals to cut down their carbon emission is really nice, it will really encourage mainstream effort to curb the damges already been caused by carbon.

Innovations like this willl drive and force industries and individuals at large to seek and adopt clean and renewable energy. We really need this, the effects of a depleted ozone layer due to emissions is already visible to all in one way or the other and if not nipped in the bud, will be futuristically detrimental.
4106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin could one day be a preferred currency for conducting international trade on: March 05, 2021, 05:00:19 AM
According to analysts at Citibank, Bitcoin could one day be a preferred currency for conducting international trade.

A problem of  international trade has always been the difference in currency. World economist are driving at a solution which involves a single currency accepted worldwide, bitcoin could be that currency. But first, before it can achieve such, it's price valiue has to meet a stable point.
4107  Other / Off-topic / Re: Time Wasting at Funerals: Why? on: March 04, 2021, 04:26:48 AM
Lol, you sound very pained, almost like you jabe attended many funerals, and they have wasted a lot of your time. Blacks most especially believe in elaborate activities, that is why their funerals and even wedding ceremonies are filled with many unimportant activities. It is such a pity.
4108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Many people think that Bitcoin is not a currency with practical uses on: March 03, 2021, 06:38:34 PM
The fact that some people do not still consider bitcoin as a currency is because of their rigidity and refusal to accept and adapt to change. Most people from the analog age where everything was physical still have a hard time accepting this new reality of digitalisation.
4109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I was invited to speak about Bitcoin to financial management college students on: March 03, 2021, 06:33:31 PM
This is very nice. As we all continue to spread the word about the prospects of btc and Blockchain benefits, more people will rally in and in a long run the effect of this will be evident in the price value. We must all continue to educate as much people as we can both offline and online. Kudos!
4110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let satoshi talk to us. on: March 03, 2021, 06:18:03 PM
I believe Mr Satoshi has his reasons for staying incognito. Whatever his reasons may be, i believe it is best to respect it.
4111  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC/USD Bullish: $51,400 will be the First Rebounce Target in Next 2 Days on: March 02, 2021, 06:25:43 PM
As we continue to monitor the market, there is no doubt whatsoever that in a couple of days, we will be happy once again and the predicted 80k ATH by mid year is still very much achievable. I am particularly excited for all those who bought more BTC during the dip.
4112  Other / Off-topic / Re: China’s Inner Mongolia has banned cryptocurrency on: March 02, 2021, 06:12:48 PM
Judging from what I just read from the article, I am forced to ask, if they are shutting down crypto mining activities in the area in a bid to cut down electricity consumption, Is that really a solution?, should the right thing not be to find a way to improve and sustain electricity in that area considering the importance of mining operations. If they think that the electricity fee there is too cheap, why not raise the fees instead of trying to stop crypto operations.
4113  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would you consider someone who cheated to win a contest the winner? on: March 02, 2021, 06:06:26 PM
*Would you consider someone who cheated to win a contest the winner of the contest?

If someone cheated in a competition, he not tried to outsmart the rule, he also has taken the place of another person who merits the position he cheated to get.

*Can there be any kind of situation it's should be OK or acceptable to cheat to win? What kind of situation/situations?

In a situation where all the participants in a competition are cheats and are actively cheating, it will be stupid to still try to win the competition or contest with a normal approach. if you decide not to cheat in such a situation, it simply means you have decided to fail out from the contest, which sometimes is still acceptable from moral standards.
4114  Other / Serious discussion / No vaccine for HIV yet, but there's a vaccine for COVID already, how so? on: March 02, 2021, 05:24:39 AM
I find it suspicious that they already have and already issuing out a vaccine for covid virus, a virus that just started a year back, whereas for a virus like the HIV that has been around for a longer time, what we hear still years after it has killed many is that a vaccine to completely prevent and cure it is still in development.

Could there be an ulterior motive?
Can it be that the rumours we hear that the covid virus was engineered true?
4115  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Are Bill Gates comment to blame for BTC price instability these days on: March 02, 2021, 01:21:32 AM

Bill Gates showed a dislike for purchasing bitcoin based on the same arguments that Warren Buffet uses: They invest in companies that manufacture products. Which is a curious thing to say when Microsoft basically sells services, but anyway, is this enough to turn the BTC shorterm?

Everyone has a right to hold on to an opinion or choice on an investment option. What one sees as profitable to him, is to another not profitable. With Bill gates being one of the richest men in the world, and having made such wealth even before the the advent of crypto might not be moved or concerned with it. He is wealthy enough to decide to invest or not.
4116  Economy / Economics / Re: Nigeria’s vice president, Yemi Osinbajo speech at economic summit on Friday on: February 28, 2021, 10:14:50 AM
I watched the clip, and I must say that I found it very interesting. It is still nice to know that some individuals in government of a country like Nigeria are still futuristic.
4117  Other / Serious discussion / Re: New regulations in Australia affect Google, Facebook and the like on: February 28, 2021, 08:40:07 AM
Australia intends to charge news aggregators and other for showing the news from media.

With this new development, I envisage a situation where other countries of the world will follow suit, and pass new regulations as well that will see local outlets been compensated for their media work being featured on their page. This move will see that the earnings of local media personnel's will increase for the better.

4119  Other / Off-topic / Don't stop working. on: February 28, 2021, 05:32:20 AM
Some get it just after a trial, others many trials. Always remember that your case or situation might be different and you might fall into the harder category of individuals.

Don't even think of stopping if it didn't work out the first time, just like some did, it is okay to ask questions, ask for help. It is okay to get mad and angry sometimes too as to why things seem harder for you to achieve. But in whatever you do, don't quit or stop working.
4120  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs. Avni Yildirim - February 27 on: February 28, 2021, 05:12:19 AM
It was an easy win for Canelo Alvarez, judging from the impressive statistics (55-1-2, 37 KO) he had over Avni Yildirim (21-3, 12 KO).  Avni looked like a punching bag for Canelo, it was really obvious that he was outmatched, that is why they didn't send him out again after the 3rd round.
