4101  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: can you reccommend a machine with Ubuntu 18 loaded on it on: September 17, 2021, 04:29:17 PM
If you don't have experience in using Linux I would suggest you switch to Windows instead it's much easier to install.

I have both bitcoin core and armory wallet on Windows OS without any issue yet.
4102  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: is crypto trading different from forex trading. on: September 17, 2021, 04:02:07 PM
i have account with binance and i have 85 usdt i dont know if it is too small for trading but that is what i can afford. anyone can help me with the link of how to learn from beginning and what type of thing to learn.

All guides trading on Binance are already on their academy subdomain you can learn a lot from their academy site about trading on their platform.
Here's the link https://academy.binance.com/en/articles?page=1&tags=trading

All posts above are the same and it doesn't provide you what actually you need. However, forex and crypto trading is the same why? because you should do the basic thing "Buy low and sell high" and they are both trading. Take note you can also trade BTC, ETH on forex and other altcoins.

If you want to learn more about trading crypto this link below is the right place to start.

4103  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S9 help on: September 17, 2021, 03:05:57 PM
~snip~

Actually doesn't help anything you just quoted your kernel logs above with code tag
Copy the whole kernel logs, not the partial if these are the only kernel logs that you can copy from your miner I would suggest flashing your miner first with SD card.

Follow the guide from here S9 series (S9, S9i, S9j, S9 Hydro) Control Board Program Recovery
And then flash it with the latest firmware from Bitmain then setup the miner and run it again wait for 30 minutes to run the miner then copy the kernel logs again and paste it here.

Also, make a screenshot of your "Miner's status" then upload it to imgur.com then paste the link here so that we can see if your miner still detecting the hashboard or if there is abnormal fan speed under miner status.

You can also read this "Antminer Problem and solution" and maybe the solution of your problem is already there just apply the solution suggested under that page.
4104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: bitcoin core wallet backup and wallet.dat file question. how to confirm? on: September 17, 2021, 01:54:59 PM
so if i want to from scratch i get a separate laptop, load btc core on there from a flashdrive (no internet) and then restore the wallet to that new instance of btc core? if the wallet name shows up in btc core, there the backup worked? is that correct?

No, not the wallet name it should be the address on that backup wallet.
So you need to check the addresses under window>receiving addresses new tab will pop up with the list of Bitcoin address.

Sample this one

Under that tab you can see the address on the right side it should be the same after you import the backup file to another laptop.
4105  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: what asic miners did you choose? on: September 16, 2021, 11:59:27 PM
Thank you. I didn’t know exists one section for altcoins mine. I do a new post in this place

My idea is buy 6 miners of 100th/unit aprox. if i decide mine BTC. Problem is lot of people says mine BTC is useless now if you are not a professional business of mining. What do you think? I wish install one asic at my home and other 5 in my business

Due to Bitcoin price increase, the miners you want to buy any unit with 100th+ is also increase in value because of the price massive price increase of bitcoin. It's not the actual price compared before.

That is why they say it's useless to mine BTC because the ROI takes too long to reach if you bought a sample Antminer s19 pro the price is around $10k which is overpriced actually compared last year.

So those who bought that gear early already get the ROI after the massive price increase. Bitcoin price is too volatile we don't know what could be the price in the future.
Those sellers and distributors of new gear only rely on the price of Bitcoin and profitability that is why the price of that gear always changes.

I wouldn't suggest you buy this new gear if you don't know what you doing it would be better to start reading this

And I agree on what stompix suggestion try to start buying with 2nd hand or used miner. You can get fast ROI on that machines compared on new ASIC miner.
4106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Having trouble verifying SHA256SUMS.asc on: September 16, 2021, 11:31:18 PM
Can you add more space before SHA256SUMS.asc

Sample
Code:
shasum -c  SHA256SUMS.asc

Add space between -c and SHA256SUMS.asc so it should be two spaces and test if it will work.

I just got the idea from this link below

4107  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Old accounts still able to withdraw more on binance or just error of display? on: September 16, 2021, 10:57:06 PM
It seems there is an update on Binance about non-KYC accounts. According to them, the only thing that you can do for old non-KYC accounts is to withdraw but you can't trade or deposit or use any services except withdraw option.

Here's the new update posted September 15, 2021

And it seems that the limits for non-KYC accounts is not implemented yet according to that link.
4108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: bitcoin core wallet backup and wallet.dat file question. how to confirm? on: September 16, 2021, 10:25:45 PM
how often is it recommended to make a new back up copy of the wallet.dat file?

2 to 3 times to make sure that you created a backup copy and make sure to put them in a separate folder if you have extra USB/HDD put it there and make sure to don't connect it to any device connected to the internet and test it 2 to 3 times to confirm that you have your original wallet.

I recently test to make a backup on the GUI using file>backup wallet it pops up and asks to give a wallet name after generated a wallet file it has a .dat file at the end so it means that on the Linux it doesn't show .dat at the end of the wallet file generated without using ls -a command it won't show the file extension.
4109  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S9 HashBoard Repair on: September 16, 2021, 10:14:47 PM
Sometimes s9 don't mine if you set the pool with spaces you should make sure it does not have spaces at the end or at the beginning of the pool.
Also, make sure it has stratum+tcp:// before the pool domain and port misconfiguration could lead the miner not hashing.

Like the above said Kernel logs will give us more insight if you don't know how to find it you can find it under system>kernel log
Copy all text under that page then paste it to https://pastebin.com/ copy the link and paste it here
4110  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: T17/S17 Firmware on: September 15, 2021, 11:58:17 PM
Why not use the firmware provided by Bitmain it doesn't have any dev fee compared to looking for non-dev fee firmware here on the forum.

Most of the devs here with mod firmware have a dev fee it's rare that someone could give a non-dev fee firmware.

Or if you want to pay for non-dev fee then try to contact this man thierry4wd
4111  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Issue: Failed to execute script pyi_rth_pkgres on: September 15, 2021, 11:35:51 PM
I would like to add this incase all suggestion above doesn't work I have backup files of all vcredist this is what I installed when I have experienced some errors on using Electrum on Windows 7.

Here's the virus scan link
- https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/219667c9bd7549f453144ef66441500de232ffd7534d9b9fa33e5f7ea83dd991

And this is the download link just uploaded recently.
Then use the install_all.bat to install them all. It should fix your issue

If you don't trust my link you can download it directly on Microsoft one by one and use that as your reference.
4112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: bitcoin core wallet backup and wallet.dat file question. how to confirm? on: September 15, 2021, 11:09:29 PM
All question seems a bit the same they are all talks about the backup file.

What do I want to know is if what folder did you get the backup file?

The wallet file should have extension .dat  unless if your Windows Computer hide all extension that is why it doesn't show .dat file.
To find the bitcoin core wallet.dat file you can find the right folder under this path below

Code:
~/.bitcoin/

You should use this command below to see the file extension

Code:
ls -a
Then look for wallet.dat the name it was created by default

If you want to verify your backup you must have another device offline and install bitcoin core then import it there so that you can check if the addresses there are the same as what you see on the original wallet.
And I think it would be better if you could also dump the private keys of all addresses since you run it offline then it is safe to dump the private keys of each wallet you created.
4113  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Need help with the blockclock ! on: September 15, 2021, 06:07:05 PM
There are a few blockclock that I found on Github I don't know if this is what you looking for but you can modify and fork the source code.

Here's the list

- https://github.com/engenegr/python-blockclock
- https://github.com/lukasender/elixir-blockclock
- https://github.com/tomwhite/blockclock

Some of them are built on python.
4114  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you already noticed about the changing of identity verification of Binance ? on: September 15, 2021, 05:57:13 PM
Yes i have already seen about this notification.
They too notify me that do the verification and get 10 USDT instantly after verifying.

Are you sure it has free 10USDT?
I haven't received 10USDT after intermediate verified or this is only for those who do not yet KYC verified?

I haven't received any notification about this actually but I'm intermediate verified a few months ago.

What will happen if we don’t verify the identity? I have currently 2500$ worth of BTC there at Binance.
Should I withdraw those before 19th ?
Or it should be fine? I haven’t done any KYC (except the email and phone number thing).
Waiting for some answers from someone trusted.

If you don't I believe they will hold your funds just like other exchanges do until your verified. So before it happens better withdraw them before the 19th.
Why not, just accept and verify your account? Are you doing money laundering? I'm actually happy to become one of the verified users I haven't experienced any issue yet. I just don't trust other exchanges than Binance. I only submitted my documents only on Binance and one of the BTC pool.
4115  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: what asic miners did you choose? on: September 15, 2021, 05:31:53 PM
i´m looking that since time and i don´t know what to choose. I think mine bitcoin can be worst decision. Maybe ethereum is the easiest way

and i can´t find any powerful whatsminer to buy. I visit the websites where is announced to sell but all is selled.

They have MicroBT Whatsminer M30S++ with 110T hashrate only this and the s19 pro from bitmain are miners with the highest hash rate?

What powerful miner exactly do you looking for?

Are you looking for ASIC miner that mines altcoin? Then this is not the right place to ask this you must go to altcoin mining section.
4116  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Understand trading on: September 15, 2021, 04:22:50 PM
I think you are looking for some guide to avoid losses in your future trading plan?

There are many people who already ask the same thing here on the forum or related to this topic but overall, they are all the same.
If you want to learn about trading and understand how it works there are some links that I know could help you start to learn about trading including free and paid tools.

Here's the link "Awesome trading guides and tools"
Don't forget to use the trading simulator under that link and use the skill that you learn from guides there and apply you don't need to spend money to practice just make sure to think like real trading.
4117  Economy / Speculation / Re: More Investment to Bitcoin? on: September 15, 2021, 04:07:08 PM
No one knows even they implement and accept bitcoin we don't know if it will attract more investors that could pump the bitcoin price.

If you are a believer in the technology of Bitcoin you must invest right away don't rely on the news or other people. Look at the chart and history of bitcoin what is the price before compared today. Haven't you notice yet?

Bitcoin is too volatile it would always depend on the demand and supply since the block reward every cycle split into half the supply would decrease and I'm sure the demand will be the same or could be high demand. So the price of Bitcoin will still increase in value without the el Salvador bitcoin implementation.
4118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which Algorithm will still be Surviving, Used & Secure in 25 Years time? on: September 14, 2021, 11:33:55 PM
So basically everything in that list comes under 2 categories which are PoS & PoW?

Yes it should be a list like this

Pow:
- CryptoNight
- Equihash
- NeoScrypt
- Quark
- Scrypt
- SHA-256
- X11
- X13

POS
- DPoS
- Hybrid - PoW & PoS

Okay which ones from the list most shitcoins use and what reasons shitcoins choose a particular algorithm?
Why not check them here

4119  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: List all received and sent transactions by address on: September 14, 2021, 11:20:38 PM
It seems that you need to use the command "listtransactions" if you want to list all transactions (Both receive and sent transactions).

Read it here https://bitcoincore.org/en/doc/0.21.0/rpc/wallet/listtransactions/

Get more RPC commands here https://chainquery.com/bitcoin-cli#
4120  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: what asic miners did you choose? on: September 14, 2021, 10:48:07 PM
It should depend on the profitability, if you are going to invest in ASIC then it would be better to research first which miner will give you profit

Here are some tools that you can check

In terms of durability then check MicroBT whatsminer.
