4102  Economy / Exchanges / An idea of non-custodial P2P Exchange on: November 04, 2020, 07:26:29 PM
Traditionally there was no way for P2P exchanges like LocalBitcoins to allow p2p exchange without user making prior deposit on the site. But with the recent innovation of DeFi, it is now possible to trade bitcoin on ethereum blockchain as Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC). Similar to Tether, WBTC is also an ethereum token which represents value of bitcoin in 1:1 ratio and the adequate reserve is held by BitGo on publicly verifiable addresses.

WBTC opens the gates of Smart Contracts integration. So exchanges can now develop a solution where users don't have to deposit their bitcoins on the site first. Rather they will send bitcoin to the smart contract. After that buyer will send the fiat money to the bank account of seller. In order to release WBTC to the ethereum address of buyer, both buyer and seller have to confirm that fiat money has been received by the seller. In the case, buyer confirmed 'yes' but seller confirmed 'no', a dispute will open and exchange will come into the picture. Exchange will verify the fiat transaction and cast 'yes' or 'no' accordingly. If there will be 2 'yes' and 1 'no', WBTC will be released to the buyer's address after deducting marginal fees of exchange, while on the contrary if there are 2 'no', it will be returned to the seller's address.

What is your thought on this guys? Is this solution better than the current P2P model?

4105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Harvest Finance loses 34 million due to bug/hack on: October 30, 2020, 05:03:20 PM
‘Engineering Error’ Led to $34 Million DeFi Hack, Harvest Finance Says

So apparently there was some clever hacker who stole a lot of money using a instant loan bug and swapped out a lot of money from the curve pool

Harvest Finance has announced 1 million bounty to anyone who helps track the hacker .

Are more Defi and staking projects suspectible to these kind of hacks ? How to be more safe ?

Full article here

https://decrypt.co/46445/engineering-error-34-million-defi-hack-harvest-finance
This is another case of hacking where huge amount is stolen from the vaults of harvest finance. The attacker issued themselves a flash loan that allowed them to temporarily manipulate the value of Harvest Finance’s reserves held in Curve, another DeFi protocol. The attack caused the price of harvest's token FARM to plummet. It fell from $242 to $100 According to reports which allow the hackers to buy the coins relatively at very low price than it's worth and sold them at huge profit. The company has issued some forward guidelines like limiting the amount of deposit, withdrawal on single transaction amd and moreover they had announced a bounty reward of $100000 to the person who helps them to indetify the anonymous hackers and get their funds back. But still it provides another great difficulty for defi related projects to grow in the market with such errors which can cause red zones in the market creating volatility in the prices.

If bitcoin reach $20k fee will be huge?
is it going to get worse and worse the more the price up? or it fixed itself
The price of fees mainly depends upon the number of transactions pending on blockchain newtwork waiting to be confirmed. The btc hasrate dropped significantly in last 4 days from high of 161 EH/s to 90 EHs.The overall SHA256 hasrate lost more than 40% between high and low point. At present there are more than 121k transactions pending to be confirmed. This is all time high after 2017 and it has conicided with rise in prices and everyone is paying high fees for transactions to be cleared fast. The present median rate is $5.18 which is likely to rise to $8 approximately so it's about btc network.

4109  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is bitcoin cross $15k in end of 2020 on: October 28, 2020, 04:28:28 PM
I think yes because of recent news of bitcoin that paypal except bitcoin...
What's your opinion
The prices tend to move upwards and it reached $13500 this week after the announcement of giant PayPal involvement in cryptocurrency and Soutasia' s largest bank DBL accept crypto payments.Despite the major price climb this month, bitcoin and ethereum markets are expected to be volatile at the end of the week, as a great number of options are set to expire on October 30. The professional data and analytics firm Skew.com discussed the situation on Twitter on October 25.61k bitcoin options are set to expire this month which amounts to $750 million which is huge amount so we can see downward movement in prices and that's why I am not sure prices can reach $15k by this year's end but hope for the best and stay positive being optimistic about it.
4110  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin will replace oil and Gold on: October 28, 2020, 04:17:02 PM
Governments all around the World Secretly start using together with banks the bitcoins.
Oil is done so They replace bitcoin instead of oil.

The btc volatility might go like daily 50k-100k price Changes.

Bitcoin will be instutionalized permanently.
The Global market prices Liqutation postion will be fluctuated by Bitcoin price.

I said this before but nobody didnt listen but now its here!!

We can compare btc with other commodities on price basis but if we talk about replacing them it's impossible because btc is digital assest which acts store of value whereas oil is essential commodity in today's world as it is fuel for running all the transport services, machineries and making other mediacal supplies from it which bitcoin can never do.Can your run your car by filling notes in tank or make medicine with bitcoin.Seems possible to you?The prices can be compared like Bitcoin has fixed supply of 21 million coin and 18 million have been mined till date and it's scarce currency so prices will be high when demand will be more with less supply in market whereas oil and gold mines are available at huge level and still many are to be found under the ground which makes it prices cheaper as supply is not limited so comparison is possible in that manner but not in the way you are talking.
4111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First Terror Attack Related With Bitcoin - INDIA on: October 28, 2020, 04:06:40 PM
For the first time a IS terror attack planned for execution is related to bitcoin. Couple have been arrested in Delhi, and on investigation the funding process happening through bitcoin is found. On further back tracking it was from a women from UK sending funds to the respective wallet. The attack has been planned to be executed in fourteen places at once. Already the government has been opposing the usage of cryptocurrency. Now this will be an added opportunity to stop usage of cryptocurrencies.

Source : Bitcoin to Fund Terror
It's just another attempt to defame the position of cryptocurrency in indian market as the government has already setup committees to form rules and regulations regarding Bitcoin and other alts and they do not appreciate its usage and this will move them in favour of stopping usage of such coins. The criminals opt different possible ways to fund the terror attack and they might find btc as more anonymous and safer way to transfer money over blockchain but we need to understand that money is money whether it's fiat or these cryptos and its not the currency which is harmful but the persons who use it in a manner that is unfair and against humanity like these terror attacks. But who cares they just need useless reasons to defame and stop usage of things which government fear can take their place and they might loose their control over them.
4112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Gambling could be used to pay for covid problems on: October 27, 2020, 06:20:54 PM
The pandemic has hit every nation very hard and economies are struggling to survive and that's why governments are left with no other option to gather funds or income from various sources. The main source for government is tax receipts from all the businesses and that is what European federal state is planning to do so but there is one problem that government involvation will pose certain restrictions on gambling sites like use of fair means,KYC,crypto restrictions and such things can lead to lack of interest among users. Moreover the house edge will be reduced or they will charge more commission from the users as they have to pay the taxes to the government. So we can say it has both pros and cons.
4113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal might issue its own cryptocurrency soon, says CoinShares exec on: October 27, 2020, 04:15:10 PM
Global digital payment giant PayPal might be moving into issuing its own cryptocurrency after officially entering the crypto industry, according to a major industry exec.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/paypal-might-issue-its-own-cryptocurrency-soon-says-coinshares-exec
They might be willing to issue their own crypto coins on their blockchain network and its main usage will be that 340 million active user of this giant payment processor will be able send coins to each other as mode of payment which can be again converted to fiat or any other coin backed by it.But there will be no such effective use of this centralised network crypto other than making huge profits by the PayPal only. They see crypto as fast growing market with high returns in short time and blockchain being the future technology of making payments so they are just upgrading themselves with market trend so as to keep the interest of the customers and achieving their own goal.
4114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: British Fintech firm to start physical crypto bank branches in India on: October 27, 2020, 04:00:41 PM
The news is a bit of a surprise to me but if it happens, it wil be great!

Cashaa, a British Fintech company has announced on 26 October  that they are going to start 34 physical bank branches by partnering with "United Multistate Credit Cooperative Society" to build a crypto friendly banking service called UNICAS. Indians can safely operate a savings account to buy, sell and store crypto assets there!

While the parliamentary members are planning to ban cryptocurrencies in India, this news is indeed a surprise to me! Do you think it will become a reality?

News ref: https://cointelegraph.com/news/british-fintech-firm-opening-physical-crypto-bank-branches-in-india
This news has come in the time of festivals in India and it is great surprise for all the crypto enthusiast residing there. Inspite of indian government attitude towards cryptocurrency market it is shocking that Fintech is partening with United Multistate Credit Cooperative Society to open crypto friendly bank In india named as Unicas. This venture will have 32 branches across India spreading over metro cities and they plan to expand its business.Cassha india CEO stated that many indians are not aware about mainstream of cryptocurrency and they are not adopting it.These banks will help them to buy crypto like Bitcoin,ETH and their native tokens CAS so we can accept this a major role playing of changing attitudes of indian people towards crypto world and become active part of it.
4115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin do you think will become next Ethereum? on: October 24, 2020, 03:35:24 PM
Which coin do you think will become next Ethereum?

Which coin do you think will become next Ethereum? by comparing all the factors including the community support, trading volume, use in daily life or business or anything which matters to make any coin on top of all the coins?
Many cryptocurrencies have potential to be great digital assests despite current scenario of cryptocurrencies devaluation. Some coins have potential to make quick and long term ROI.If the competition is ETH then I would suggest there is no other better option than EOS.The EOS system is free of Ethereum problems with scalability and it is ready to replace other competitive blockchains. If big giants like Amazon,Twitter would like to step in blockchain  they would definitely use EOS core.It provide great services to the users and is best alternative for investment at current price of $395 as in coming years it will rise with great surge with investments being made and large projects using its core network. So be smart and invest in what is best rather than wasting money on shitcoins available in the market.
4116  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin price now and something interesting on: October 24, 2020, 02:55:25 PM
it look like that  13k price range  there is some  accumalation   action.

like every sell order getting eated. Roll Eyes
so all the profit takers sellings have immmediately buyer
simple words we have big accumalation in 13k price

i think no comments need what will be happend soon !! Grin
This recent price hike is mainly because of PayPal announcement of buying and selling of btc over its platform. The btc is trading all time high in 2020 above $12500 after being bearish in the market for almost 7 months. The price was high $20k in past year but it rose 5% by $1000 this Wednesday after this news. The reports suggest investors want to invest in decentralised, non sovereign and secure currencies like Bitcoin by shifting from traditional market approach and this will boost the prices of Bitcoin with great surge so just be patient and avoid any negativity or any kind of FUD's spread in the market by whales to profit themseleves.
4117  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UK Company adopts Bitcoin as treasury reserve assets on: October 23, 2020, 05:18:35 PM
Another company put bitcoin in their radar and make it a treasury reserve asset.

The company is Mode Global Holdings, will allocated 10% of their assets to BTC. So more institutional investors are joining the bandwagon globally, the question is who's next?

https://www.investegate.co.uk/mode-global-holdings--mode-/rns/mode-adopts-bitcoin-as-treasury-reserve-asset/202010210700037078C
Many companies have started to add Bitcoin in their treasury reserve.According to bitcointreausery.org has listed the name of 23 companies which are listed on various exchanges like Nasdaq which have Bitcoin in their reserves and the total amount of btc held by them is nearly 785k btc coins which is approximately 4% of the total supply cap at this time and amount is nearly $10 billion in reserves with them and that is really a huge amount. Most of them are publicly traded companies like MicroStrategy holds nearly 38000 btc in their reserve, Square Inc holds 4700 bitcoins and private companies like block.one holds roughly 140000 bitcoins in their reserves. So we can say that most of the big companies are also indulging themseleves with cryptocurrencies so as to secure their future financial services and gain profit with time that's what investment really means and they are doing so.
4118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paypal is doing it on: October 21, 2020, 02:21:44 PM
Paypal officially announced that they are going to let their users to buy, sell and shop cryptocurrencies on their platform starting in 2021adding services such as this will become a domino effect that might trigger banks to do the same. I can feel it already, next year will be another blast for crypto!

source : https://cointelegraph.com/news/paypal-to-offer-crypto-payments-starting-in-2021

Confirmed!
Yes I also read the article about it on reuters and it's a great news for all the crypto enthusiast as it can give a boost to price of btc which will eventually lead to price rise in other alts as they follow bircoin path. The US payment giant PayPal is one of the leading company with more than 346 million active accounts and btc can be bought, sell with 26 million active merchants on the network from next year. The chief of PayPal announced it as "they want to increase the use of virtual currencies" in these financial periods and everyone wants to be part of this digitalization of payments with the help of these decentralised or virtual currencies.Although the transaction related to cryptocurrencies will be settled through the cash. Most of the big giants are approaching these payments methods as they are future currencies so just stay away from negativity or any FUD because the prices are going to soar soon in coming few years.
4119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you use to bet IPL in India? on: October 20, 2020, 05:00:30 PM
Noticed many Indians posting here on IPL betting.

If you don't mind, how are you getting on the action? Some folks I know were using Betfair but it stopped accepting India customers recently. Are you using a Betfair clone in India? (would prefer Betfair over a book honestly)

Thanks..
Sports betting has become one of the most interesting field in past few years and most of the wagering aggrements are placed on various kinds of tournaments.Indian premiere league is one of the most famous cricket tournament held in India by the BCCI.The amount of bets placed on matches is uncountable and there are varoius legal platforms based in India through which you can place you bet.One of them is Dream11 which is sponsor of this year IpL and you have to create your team on this app and place bet on it and winning is based on points scored by your team.Other varoius platforms are MPL,Sportsbet.io,betnomi and others which offers you wide range of betting options. The other side is P2P betting offline thorugh bookies on phone which have their own system of betting and it's very risky as there is no assurance of geeting money and it's illegal so you can be caught red handed by the police. But still it's very famous sport and you can also try your luck by betting on these platforms and earn some extra with your skills.
4120  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who holds the most bitcoins? on: October 17, 2020, 05:50:57 PM
I've always been interested in this question, but I found a lot of confusing information.
I recently came across this article in Quora, and I wonder how accurate and verified this information is: https://www.quora.com/Who-holds-the-most-bitcoins
According to this article, it seems that Satoshi holds the most bitcoins, between 600,000 and 1,600,000 BTC.
The following are the Winklevoss brothers, with 91,666 bitcoin.
Next is Barry Silbert with 48,000 BTC.
Next in order are Tim Draper with $250,000 worth of BTC and Michael Novogratz with his crypto net worth to be around $700 million – $1 billion.
Do you agree with this assessment from the article or do you have more credible and accurate information?

There is probably a small group of people around the globe who holds most of the supply of Bitcoin which is currently mined often termed as whales in the market. You can check address with most btc but as far as I am concerned Sathoshi the invisible founder of btc holds most of btc around 1.1 million coins with him which makes him 157th richest person on the earth according to the list with a net worth of approximately $12.5billion at this time and with increase in btc prices it will keep on rising but it will take time for him also to be richest person on earth if he wish to do so because the prices need to cross $160k if he want to beat Jeff Bezos at $175 billion. But still he is on the list with unknown indentity for this time.
