4101  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Youtube channel - what would you like to see? on: July 28, 2021, 02:59:48 AM
I would like to see contents related to the development, challenges, expectations and usage of Bitcoin in Africa. You know, Africans love to YouTube but the continent is almost an untapped market for the crypto industry. Giving the population of that continent it will help expose this forum more.

4103  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it easier to HODL if you are already rich? on: July 27, 2021, 03:02:57 PM
It's really not about the person's total net worth that makes them want to hodl a position or not for long until they achieve their aim. It's about not allowing anxiety get in the way of one's judgment. Your friend's friends were able to block anxiety from getting to them until they achieved their target of ROI. Though they negated the principle of "Only invest money you're ready to lose." However, if they had narrowly missed their target, we would be talking about greed here. So, there's always a thin line to decisions we take between wisdom and foolishness.

If you don't believe it or don't get it, I don't have the time to try to convince you, sorry.

Satoshi Nakamoto

It's 11 years of that famous saying by the grandmaster himself here on this forum...

4107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about Citizen Finance? on: July 25, 2021, 07:58:39 PM
I followed the bounty of this project and got some coins in the spreadsheet, only it hasn't been sent yet.
Hah! If the project team or bounty manager didn't send the CIFI reward till now, just forget you will ever get it now that its price is gaining momentum. I have a sad experience with Dego Finance. Hunters were denied their rewards once price started appreciating. The manager couldn't do anything for hunters to get us our rewards. It was wasted weeks for me supporting that project. About CIFI, I believe it's a great project. It has utility and the supply is very low. Once it gets to any Centralized exchange (even if not Binance), price will hit the roof.
4108  Other / Meta / Re: If Bitcoin crashes would this forum still exist? on: July 25, 2021, 03:51:36 PM
First off I asked what oppressive country you live in that would do that.. I never said I didn’t believe it, did I? I just reconfirmed with myself as I typed that I shouldn’t doubt it, not saying I ever did. Also I agreed that the traffic would likely slow here in the event of a massive crash, can you point out where I said something to the contrary? I also am well aware it’s all hypothetical at this point. Do you just like to create arguments or  Huh
Arguments? Nah! I merely pointed you to your wrong choice and use of words. You don't think it's wrong to refer to someone else's country as sick and twisted? You don't? 🧐
4109  Other / Meta / Re: If Bitcoin crashes would this forum still exist? on: July 25, 2021, 05:59:39 AM
What sick and twisted country do you live in that would punish someone to death for using bitcoin? I guess I shouldnt doubt that there are a few countries out there that would, which makes me sad that people have to live under such bullshit oppression.
If you truly believe what you said in that part I bolded, then I think your first sentence is contradictory. Obviously, it contradicts your second view. However, remember that what we are dealing with here is a hypothetical scenario. It's that simple. We shouldn't lose sight of how traffic reduces in this forum during bear season let alone when governments begin to clamp down on those who are into Bitcoin. Do you honestly believe this forum will not be affected? Obviously not!
4110  Other / Meta / Re: If Bitcoin crashes would this forum still exist? on: July 25, 2021, 01:14:06 AM
They can't so let's say they banned all activities relating to Bitcoin like trading, mining etc globally, the forum would still exist and even become more stronger
Are you cocksure about that? I have observed how thinned out this forum gets whenever Bitcoin is eaten up by the 🐻, how a lot of people get discouraged coming and posting here, how traffic to this site reduces. Remember that FOMO creates a hell of noise while the 🐻 bestows silence on every group and communities. I think if there is a global ban on Bitcoin related activities with huge implications of imprisonment and death for defaulters, this forum will be drastically affected or shutdown.
4111  Other / Meta / Re: How does evil fee makes sense? on: July 24, 2021, 04:58:48 PM
I never really tried free VPN (I don't trust them) but I wouldn't be surprised if using free VPN get you this evil fee thing as well, as since it's free, it might be massively used by account farmers.
These friends of mine weren't people who had vast knowledge of the internet and didn't know what a VPN was. In fact, VPN became popular in Nigeria because of the Twitter ban that happened in the country by the federal government not Nigeria a few months ago. Before then not so many people knew what a VPN meant.

I'm curious now, are they still members of this forum?
Sadly, both left after a while. They said they couldn't understand much of the discussions that went on here because of the terminologies used in most posts. My pleas for them to continue and persevere didn't yield any results so I let them be. I don't think they even made it to Jnr rank. I count their temporary departure as loss to them because they don't recognize what they missed.
4112  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: trading needs consistent attention and full concentration on: July 24, 2021, 02:58:11 PM
considering the fact that trading is highly profitable and responds majorly to knowledge and skills, this means its needs full attention and concentration consistently. i have  noticed alot of new and upcoming trader gets carried away easily with little profits or loss. this makes many to quit or feel complascent. becoming a good trader is like going to a school, you do all necessary things consistently without any distraction untill you succeed. this is one of the things that i feel is needed to incorporate into trading learning process and lifestyle.
Well, beyond distraction and all that (they must surely come), the major thing needed to succeed in trading is "skill set". Why a lot of momentary winning traders fail is because they become over confident in their winnings and then neglect their trading plans. Trading is a profession and should be treated with utmost discipline and respect, with constant training and retraining the way doctors and engineers do. Twerking and realignment are vital aspects of winning when it comes to trading. Without which it will be almost like making a gambling on trades.
4113  Other / Meta / Re: If Bitcoin crashes would this forum still exist? on: July 24, 2021, 02:11:36 AM
I think the responses would've been more thought provoking if OP had phrased his question this way — Would this forum still exists if Bitcoin were banned globally? The issue of Bitcoin crashing (correction) means little or nothing compared to if it were banned by all nation's (though I know this is impossible).
4114  Economy / Reputation / Re: Do you miss VOD poll? on: July 22, 2021, 05:47:38 PM
Though I haven't had any private chitchat with Vod, his comments used to thrill me a lot with that funny avatar of his too 😏. I didn't know he left the forum until today. Are we losing our icons already...?

That reminds me, I also miss TMAN. Does anyone know his whereabouts?
4115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Convince me that bounties paying in anything other than Bitcoin are worth it on: July 22, 2021, 05:04:23 PM
I want to know how much you guys are earning with these bounties that offer "stakes" for doing certain tasks because I am not convinced that they are legitimate.
Well, I can tell you for free that earning in bounties is a thing of luck because most of the projects at the time of the bounties may not even have the tokens ready. Some at the end of the bounty will still not even have them. Again, it's a huge risk most hunters take because there are often projects which don't fulfill their promises of paying hunters at the end. On a few occasions, one might stumble unto a gem and then make a lot of money from the tokens. Cartesi is one of such gems for me. I was among the hunters two years ago or so and it's proving to be a nice token for keeps. At its ATH, my earning was well over $6,500 from it.

However as soon as it is worth something all the other participants in that signature campaign will be thinking the same thing. Withdraw. That then causes a dump effect on the token and you are back to it being worthless again.
It's not true to say hunters activity of selling that causes tokens to dump. Hunters reward percentage is very small compared to what shares the companies and their investors keep to themselves. Most times, investors get to dump on the projects before hunters are given their rewards.
4116  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Small capital and Big capital on: July 22, 2021, 10:27:13 AM
Starting with big fund will always be the best provided the user is able to manage it.
Big fund allows traders flexibility and relaxibility, knowing they don't have to be longer in the market to meet a target. For instance a trader with a bare minimum to acquire just one BNB @ 300 will stay longer in trade to make enough that could be satisfying for them. The trader makes $40 if BNB price moves to $340. That could be 2 or 3 days to achieve. Whereas, it will take a trader who has around 10 BNB to make that same profit once BNB goes to $304 and that can be achieved within 30mins, and the trader exits the market with rest of mind a few hours of being in the trade.

While when you use big capital you will be careful and panic if the market doesn't goes as your expectation.
Actually, the reverse is the case.
4117  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Remove Proxyban (evil fees) - email to get whitelisted for free on: July 22, 2021, 07:22:11 AM
I like the way this is turning out that some reputable members are seriously finding a way to help out on this evil fee. In the past I had had to pay for two friends because they didn't know jack about Bitcoin and never had any at the time. Right now, I'm vouching for another friend who's very interested to grow and advance his knowledge of cryptocurrencies. I'm happy to be doing this for them.
4118  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Leadership in Africa on: July 22, 2021, 06:17:43 AM
Africa politians do not understand what leadership mean. They think being a leader is only just to occupy the sit of a governor and president.
They do not understand that being a leader is more than a political status.
In fact, for them it's a time to lord it over the citizens they seem to govern and steal their collective wealth. That's the mindset of an African leader, from the lowest to the highest echelon. I know of people who already pledged to plunder the country once elected to any political post. It's really appalling and I don't know if Africans will ever get themselves rid of that mentality. Even those who are badly led have a way of justifying the actions of those who misgovern them by taking sides with them. Just look at what even happened in South Africa a few days ago once Jacob Zuma was found guilty by a competent court of law. Those from his tribe and who took sides with him went on rampage, destroying and looting.
4119  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 21, 2021, 06:57:59 PM
Correct me if I'm wrong but... this is not news?
I'm guessing he bought the dip again and he's trying to FOMO on it and get noobs to chase price so he can cash out safely. It's Elon's new stock in trade and I believe the veterans don't take such as news anymore 🤷
4120  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 21, 2021, 06:51:24 PM

Ahem! The noise is about to start again 🤷
