4101  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you like Virtual reality? on: February 04, 2020, 10:42:16 AM
I don’t remember exactly, but I read somewhere that Elon Musk is doing something related to virtual reality, in which he already sells land. It sounds crazy, but I believe that this technology has a great future, since we can experience something not in real life, but in virtual.

That'd be interesting if true (and if it's what I think it is).
Sounds like something you could combine with 3D Google map/earth and get lots of home owners/estate developers make real 3D image of their homes interiors and place them on their exact locations on the map for customers to walk through using virtual/augmented reality devices.
4102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online gambling on real gaming equipment: Testing technology on: February 04, 2020, 10:26:31 AM
You missed mentioning the token's worth. I think your readers would need this important information to decide whether it's worth testing or not.
By the way, I did not see any link on your post. Seems you forgot to add it. Or you added it already but I missed it or something.
4103  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Win a Presidential plane... on: February 04, 2020, 08:43:57 AM

This crazy idea is because the Mexican president wan to sell the plane to spend the money on other projects.

What do you think would you buy a ticket?

It's not a crazy idea at all because the money will be funded for the projects for the people of Mexico but the thing what will the president and the future president will use they will be opted for a commercial fight now that they are putting the plane in a lottery, but whoever wins it will be put in history and will also become an instant millionaire.

Perhaps, that is their plan or strategy to get more funds for their country. The government knows that not all people have big money to maintain the plane, so they thought that if someone wins the plane, they will resell it to the rich people, or they will sell it back to the government with cheap price. The important is people who win that plane can have the money which will be still bigger. They will not think about the project or the plan that the government has because if they can win and get the money, they will be happy.

The winner/winners will most likely need to sell It way below what it's claimed to be the cost... depending on the condition of the plane and its actual price in brand new condition.
Kind of looks like a crafty way to get many people to contribute for public projects(if this's really for building new projects)
4104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto gambling websites need to add self-control functionality! on: February 04, 2020, 07:56:40 AM
Some website has self exclusion features like Nitrogensports but in the end, I think this is all about the will of the players.
When we are gambling and we are in control, these things should not be a problem, but if we don't have control then probably we will face trouble in the long run.

I don't know if casinos are really into these kind of program since they are a profit oriented business, so basically if a player lose more than means the opposite for them which is profit, so why would they bother to put a limit on every gambler's account when that would limit their income as well?

A casino is a place that gamblers can play gambling games, but we need to have control for ourselves, especially limiting our money, so we know that we don't use all of the money to playing gambling. We need to understand how dangerous gambling games for us if we lose control because we will difficult to recover the money that we lose. The more people who cannot limit themselves in gambling, the more profit that the casino will get, so that is why we need to care with what we have and don't lose everything before it's too late.

There is no one who will be able to help us in controlling oneself because the only one who can truly help us is ourselves. No matter what functionality is added to gambling if you can't control yourself then it is still useless.  Gambling is a very dangerous game if you won't have self-control because it will not only ruin your sanity but it can also ruin your family.

I think gambling could be made addictive intentionally or unintentionally. The features, environments, sounds etc that encourage gambling (especially the bad gamblings) addiction should be removed in my opinion. Stopping an addicts from gambling more, can be helpful too. You never can tell what addicts are passing through internally. Wasting time and money only makes things worse.
4105  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling: process vs outcome on: February 04, 2020, 07:37:37 AM
Well, taking some of your time to learn and understand the game before "gambling" or taking risk is really important. That is part of the reasons some are successful risk takers while others are not.
The juicy reward and the amount you plan to risk is enough to get you to spend some time in learning and acquiring skills.
4106  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When bitcoin price is low, any slight movement is more profitable. Here is why. on: February 04, 2020, 07:22:46 AM
Most people dream of bitcoin to reach $100K or $1 million dollars value but according to my calculations low prices can bring more profit when the price movements are small. Let me tell you the reason.

Suppose bitcoin price is $10.000 and it increases by just $200 to reach $10.200 during a day. This is 2% profit (excluding fees). In other words, it is $2 profit with $100 investment.

Now Suppose bitcoin is $4.000 and it goes up by the same $200 and reaches $4.200. This is 5% profit! (excluding fees). In other words, it is $5 profit with $100 investment.

So, the amount of price movement was the same in both examples, but you will get 2.5x more profit in the second scenario! That's a big difference. Therefore, when bitcoin price stays low it can be more profitable for daily trading with small changes in price.

Interesting...
Price movements cannot be easily predicted by most people though.  I think only traders would benefit more from this. Holders will benefit more from big upward movements.
Trading isn't that easy by the way. Only a few would benefits from little changes in price.
4107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: UOS is coming with new standards with bringing reputation in on: February 02, 2020, 05:33:56 PM
Just checked it out on coinmarketcap. Found this interesting at the project coinmarketcap "About UOS Network" section:
Quote
Besides its native platform, the U°OS team is currently working on integration to the existing online platforms. The potential use-cases include integration with e-commerce services, social networking sites, and prospectively smart and private cities.

I wonder if it's a good idea to trust  reputations from centralized platforms, or reputation from outside a good decentralized network. A good reputation system should be able to virtually prevent abuse of its system. One of the  ways to do this in my opinion is to avoid sites or platforms that have high chances to abuse a reputation system... that is, sites where people could easily be given undeserved reputations.
4108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Money System Worked? on: February 02, 2020, 04:32:42 PM
Better not to say now in my opinion. I think when the time comes many people will rely on them. And i think such "money system" will do great when combined with decentralized technologies. They can be used in place of gold when it becomes necessary to back some cryptocoins with physical assets
4109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stable coin for Every Currency on: February 02, 2020, 02:01:43 PM
Is it possible that if cryptocurrency gets accepted all over the country, tether or any other stable coin will start creating stable coin for all the currency available in the world? I think they will go for that and create money out of thin air. What do you think? Will tether do that ever in the future once crypto goes more mainstream? Or govt themselves will create their own currency at the end?
PS- Self-moderated thread to prevent spam.

I think stablecoin for every country is a good idea. They all need to be decentralized stablecoin though, so we don't have the problem of abuse like we have on centralized/fiat currencies today.
Current government controlled stable currencies are less transparent and prone to abuses. The public don't know how these currencies are run. While their decentralized versions are more transparent and less prone to abuse. The public knows exactly how they are run
4110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How is it possible there are altcoins costing more than BTC? on: February 02, 2020, 01:45:00 PM
Wrapped Bitcoin should be worth thesame as Bitcoin,as it is backed by the price of Bitcoin. It's basically what stablecoin is to fiat currency.

This is actually my first time of seeing 42-coin.. . I'm a bit surprised.    It has one of the lowest supply and circulating supply in Crypto market. It had an even more surprising All Time high: $992,883 USD (Jan 14, 2014).
Those are probably why the price is this high-end
4111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Gave Away Bitcoin Private Keys! - Experiment. on: February 02, 2020, 10:44:02 AM
Interesting.

I guess it'll even be more unattractive to crack if large amount of bitcoin is split into smaller amounts (also offers better decentralization).
Coin decentralization or splitting of large amount into small amounts is indeed a good thing. Fees has to be considered though.
I think people who attempt to crack cheap private keys, will eventually understand it's a waste of money, energy, resources and time.
4112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pretty sneaky fundraising strategy on: February 02, 2020, 10:12:15 AM
I guess this is IEO funding, right? I don't really know how IEO funding works... so I will try to explain what I think happened.

Probably, many real investors, some "whales"(so called private investors?) or a whale  dumped the tokens.
If the dump was caused by many investors, something probably made them dump them at almost thesame time.
If dump was caused by whales or a whale then the team or people connected to the team are the whales.. . This is just a guess. So you need to do a proper investigation before jumping into conclusion

They're probably using the bot to create activities and attract traders/investors. I wouldn't be surprised if the developers are buying the token just to create that activities.

Looks like a deceptive method of raising funds, unless genuine buyers are  aware of this and know what it will result to in the end (a dump).
Besides, people should only invest in projects they have properly researched and sure are viable, solid, sustainable etc.
Your friend was probably hoping on unattainable ponzi-like earning.
4113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why not we donate some Bitcoin for corona virus? on: February 02, 2020, 08:50:36 AM
Many will likely help if they can see solid proofs that their donations are used for people in need and not used for something else. Wish there are ways I could track my donations, For example: from when I send my donate> To when it gets to your organization> To Hospital> To doctor> Patients needs.

But if this turns out to be safe I will give the little I have
4114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Degens.com - The Ethereum Sportsbetting Exchange on: February 02, 2020, 08:18:42 AM
Why the name "degenerates"if I may ask? Probably casino thing? https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Degen
I would not use or visit a site with that name to be honest. Guess casinos that use the name are not interested in how their customers will feel when they know what the word means. Interesting features, but bad name unfortunately.
4115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Recommended games for lottery players? (Something with a jackpot?) on: February 02, 2020, 07:36:27 AM
Some new "(lottery?) platforms" to play on? The Ethex.bet someone above recommended sounds interesting. I checked the site and it has mobile app. The site's language is not in English on my end though. The is probably the their twitter page: https://mobile.twitter.com/ethex_bet
4116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto gambling websites need to add self-control functionality! on: February 02, 2020, 07:06:16 AM
Or probably just keep warning accounts that are in loses or unprofitable for a long time? Such accounts are likely owned by addicted gamblers... If they continue to play without being profitable, the account could then be closed... Not sure if this is the right thing to do.

I think closing of account could work best in society where people are tracked. Too risky to do if it's a "centralized" society.
4117  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you mean by the word "God"? on: February 02, 2020, 06:45:06 AM
The true CREATOR of Heavens, earth, living things and everything that exists.
HE Lives forever, HE's invisible and have rules. There are serious consequences for breaking the rules. HE shows mercy on those who ask for mercy. And HE is very very loving and patient.
He is currently watching you, and knows every thought in your mind.

His spirit also dwells in "clean" heart. If your heart is dirty, unseen beings or being who are opposite of GOD is likely dwelling in it, controlling you like a puppet

4118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2020-01-31] ERC-20 USDT exchange supply decreased by nearly 50% since September on: January 31, 2020, 05:14:06 PM
I think USDT will be more meaningful when the condition of Bitcoin is deteriorating, because crypto users prefer to hold USDT. But when Bitcoin has started to increase, then this stable coin will be abandoned, and switch to Bitcoin. I think it's a risk of a stable coin. When crypto users switch to Bitcoin, that's when the trading volume will decline.

This is probably the reason if the USDT supply decrease tallies with the increase in price of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
Another possible reason is the availability of more useful and easy to use stablecoins. I guess USDT should develop more useful features to attract more users.
4119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is digital gold good? on: January 31, 2020, 04:56:14 PM
Having the physical gold is better in my opinion... else we run the risk of having "gold Central Banks" printing out of thin air, billions of dollars worth of "digital gold" that has no intrisic value, thereby repeating the fiat mistakes with gold. There should be fool-proof ways of verifying that  what is printed actually represents what's in reserve.
There are few other disadvantages of having only "digital gold".
4120  Other / Off-topic / Re: Which Would You Use? on: January 31, 2020, 01:44:18 PM
Depends on what you want. Use the former If you are not bothered about centralization, your privacy, keeping your money in the bank, etc
Use Bitcoin/real cryptocurrency if you want some privacy, transparency, to control your money, etc.
