4123  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When would you call bitcoin stable? on: November 15, 2013, 06:25:00 AM
$500k?!  Does the k mean 1000?  If so I can only hope so.  If this happens I will sell my 1 bitcoin and retire for the rest of my life.
4124  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: $500 Bounty - Keyhotee Splash Screen & Icon on: November 15, 2013, 06:17:24 AM
Well it's kinda funny (to me) that you're offering your bounty in USD on a site dedicated to bitcoin enthusiasts.  Why not use the cryptocurrency we all know and love?
4125  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Cards on: November 15, 2013, 06:14:07 AM
Yes, I think this is certain a very cute product idea but it's a little bit bothersome that once you've scratched off the cover of the private key, you can't hide it again.  I imagine that I might want to carry the card around (because it's beautiful) and use it to show off my address so that someone could send me bitcoins, but then I'd be afraid of that person taking an image of the back of the card and getting my private key.
4126  Economy / Gambling / Re: seals with clubs desktop client (debian support, software license) on: November 15, 2013, 06:05:04 AM
While I'm certainly not the tech guy (or the legal guy) I can tell you we released 32 and 64 bit versions, and because it's pre-beta it's more like that's what we got, glglglglgl

Micon, thanks for the reply, it's nice to hear from someone even if you don't have the answer.

To try to clarify: I'm not having a problem with 32 vs 64 bit versions.  For personal reasons, I'm mainly wondering why you guys haven't set this up so that it runs easy on the main distro in the debian family (erm, that is, debian).  Given (a) the issues with spyware on ubuntu and (b) the ease of releasing code that runs on any debian-like distro, I'm just trying to figure out what gives.

The legal issue is also important but I don't actually have any beef with you guys (I love your site), I'm just trying to use the desktop client on my computer.

If there's really a compelling reason to release software that only runs on Ubuntu, it might be kind to advertise it as such.  That is, instead of calling your desktop client "PC/Mac/Linux", you should probably say "PC/Mac/Ubuntu".

Last question then, if you're not the technical guy, who is?  And how can I get a hold of him/her?

Yup, just another 10 bitcoin face-shot to our players

I'm thankful, but imnot sure what you mean by 'face shot'?

as in we pull 10 coins out of the 'ole canister, load it into the variance machine, and blast the 10 coins in partial amounts all over your virtual face, more traditionally into the lucky MTT winners' wallets.  A private key transfer if you will.

well said.

BTW, can someone from the seals team please reply to my thread about the ubuntu client you released?

While we are talking about krill, can I get a clarification on how it's calculated?

The info on the page says it gives this forumula:

"√(rake) multiplied by (5 / players dealt) rounded to the nearest tenth of a krill"

Ok, so is this symbol "√" square root?

Second, what's the order of operations here (the formula is given in english, so it's not clear how to translate it into symbolic math.

Third, an example (my best guess):

Say the rake is 0.1.

Square root of 0.1 is approx 0.3.

Say you've got 3 players, then 5/3 is approx 1.6

So we do 0.3*1.6 and get 0.5

And since I guess the units here are equal to krill units then I suppose that since we're already rounded to a tenth we're done.  This hand yields 0.5 krill to the 3 players.  Is this right?

4130  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do You Think The Price of Bitcoins Will Go Down To $5.00? on: November 15, 2013, 04:07:36 AM
Gawd I hope not, at least not until I sell mine off.
4131  Economy / Gambling / Re: seals with clubs desktop client (debian support, software license) on: November 15, 2013, 04:06:42 AM
What is this all about ?

Uh, not sure how to rephrase the OP for you.  Can you be just a little more specific about the part you didn't understand?
4132  Economy / Gambling / Re: seals with clubs desktop client (debian support, software license) on: November 15, 2013, 04:05:58 AM

Seeing as this is quite a public place and seeing how many people use GNU/Linux and might be interested in this topic, I thought it would be helpful to put the concerns out in this forum.  But maybe your right, I suppose e-mail is my only remaining option.

I'm shocked no replies to this thread.  How do I get someone's attention on this?  The chat on seals is just spam and trolls.  There's no irc room for seals, either.

Note: Due to the recent spike in btc price, payouts have changed, and can change at anytime depending on BTC/USD rate.

You have lowered to half Sad

I can see why. But, when Bitconlowers in price I'm hoping it will be put up again.

It was lowered by a lot more than half.  Last month I got .19 btc at the 100-250 level.  This month I'm looking at .03 for the same amount of posts.  That is lowering by half, then half again, then half again, and then some.   This is lowering by approx 0.15.
4140  Economy / Service Discussion / bitvisitor.com status and info on: November 13, 2013, 06:09:52 AM
Hey, I'm wondering why when I click on bitvistor.com's stats page it shows me that there are ads at 50ubtcs down to 8 or so ubtcs yet when I run bitvisitor I'm getting offers in the 1 and 2ubtc range.  What gives?

Also, I'm wondering how to tell how much reward is associated with an address on the site.  That is, if I don't remember how much they owe me (before they pay), how can I look it up?

Finally, I'm wondering what's up with this: I ran bitvisitor when I was near the canadian border the other day and all of a sudden my rewards jumped up by orders of magnitude (slight exaggeration).  What gives?

Maybe the answers to these questions are unknown, but I thought I'd ask at the forum where I feel mostly likely to find the answer (if anywhere).
