4121  Economy / Speculation / Re: Russia central bank bans Bitcoin on: January 27, 2014, 06:58:34 PM
In Russia any warnings from government are permanently treated as law. Nobody wants to play games with mr. Putin here.

Well, "there's no fucking entry point in years" anyway, as you explicitly said around first China news in early December, so why would you care? Tongue

Maybe because you wouldn't give lot of fuck about Putin if it could be bought cheaper?  Grin

Granted I have only been around for around 8 months, but I've never seen such a concerted effort by bears to try to spread FUD.

I guess this forum is no longer any different than the btc-e trollbox. What a shame.

The most ridiculous part is that so many of the bears try to act like they are trying to save the bulls. Like they actually give 2 shits about the rest of us. smh

It comes with price and their hope they'll become rich with BTC.

Nobody would give a shit about it if it is at 5$ still. So, it's good Smiley
4123  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 27, 2014, 06:53:08 PM
But it's really interesting to see how Western countries basically said - Bitcoin, you're free to make seleme rich Tongue but eastern play quite different.

What a gap in mentality, it's visible in everything.

Be ready for the burst !

I'm always ready, open mind to all options makes miracles Tongue

Russians don't give a shit about laws anyway so we're fine Tongue
4126  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bearish week, take care!! on: January 27, 2014, 06:39:51 PM
A Bitcoin forum filled with people exciting about Bitcoin.

You don't say?

Speculation forum should be filled with people who trade wisely and make money and not 95% bulltards who only hodl all the time.

Quite opposite. Since November and big Bitcoin price rise, there's more beartards feeling bitter for missing the train (understandable that, though, I felt same back in March) that spread their FUD and act as smart ases trying to learn people with 4-5 years of BTC experience what to do.
4127  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bearish week, take care!! on: January 27, 2014, 06:35:03 PM
Well, Pera, each week is bearish for you since start of December. Though you weren't around too much after your ultra bearish calls got vaporized with heroic Bitcoin buyer orders Cheesy

Saying that, yeah, we might see more moderate dips in next few days.

While everyone is busy talking about Charlie Shrem's arrest, no one seems to notice the REAL reason for the market plunge. That is, 3 hours ago Bitcoin was officially banned in Russia. No English language news source yet, but Russian newssites are all abuzz about it: http://bitnovosti.com/2014/01/27/bank-rossii-ozvuchil-poziciyu/

Use Google translate, everything is quite clear. Everything is banned, including mining, exchanges, transfers and payment processing. Each company accepting Bitcoin will be automatically charged with "supporting terrorism".

Russia wins the dubious distinction of the first country in the world to officially ban Bitcoin (unlike earlier Thailand myth).

They have not banned BTC nor cryptocurrency, their rule is even softer than China's.

They did word it though to make mining illegal there, as the strongest words were that it is illegal to emmision currency on their soil. Everything else is softer than Chinas.

Miners will barely give a fuck about it though selling mining equipment probably won't happen in Russia anymore.

I noticed one lovely pattern. Last 3 crashes and "crashes" happened on a day when I made nice profit trading other crypto stuff so watching the crash or "crash" after making nice gain hours before feels much better and make me much calmer Tongue
4130  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 27, 2014, 06:25:12 PM
the ones that sold looked more like whales than sheeps.....and they are still selling....

Whales sold at top, that's how they became whales  Grin

it's not easy being the worst trader since the beginning of time.. panic sold at 761 and panic bought back at 775  Cheesy

If that would make you feel slightly better, I don't consider myself worst trader ever but I still do such stuff pretty regularly Cheesy

haha I have an amazing track record though.. almost every time I sell in the dips I manage to do it at the lowest point. Should just sit on them but not as fun and expensive. Everyone knows it costs money to have a good time

Try not selling all your coins at once, that's most common mistake.

If you sell small part only and price continue to go down you can sell more on the way down. If it goes up, you won't have too much to buy and lose.

Selling and buying all at once is never good thing.

So it looks like I was wrong about the stabilization after all.

We're currently 3% below where we were before the news. Hardly destabilization so far.
I was being sarcastic. Yesterday the bulls were saying CCMF and I said we'd probably stabilize at 810 instead.

Mah, it's more a joke. CCMF after each 10$ up, and crash after each 10$ down. Bears are more serious though as they can't function without FUD spreading.

This is actually really good news. Charlie was not an asset to the bitcoin community. It was a shame that the winklevoss ever got involved with him but I'm glad they shut down bitinstant when they found out.

While I'm not going to sell bitcoins just because of this, I do think this is terrible news. A person has just been put in jail, on bogus "trading with some people, who might have been trading with some other people, who might have been selling plants to people" charges. Seeing certain individuals in Bitcoin community dump the guy, just because he's "not an asset" or something, is making me sad and angry. I would guess you and me are sort of "not an asset" types either, even more so than Charlie. So what, does it mean we deserve to be locked up?

We don't know that. If they don't have explicit proofs of him being part of organized crime group then it's certainly stupid arrest and his lawyers would deal with it pretty easily.

But maybe they have that proof and are not stupid to do it without it. I don't know guy, so I certainly won't take his corner just like that.

It's always fun to see all those alts burn on bear days.

It's always a time to buy alts in moments like this Wink

Last time we visited 780 (few days ago) I made 30% on PPC in less than 24 hours. Alts stayed much stronger this time though so far.

Bitcoin lobbying was done long time ago, when that Senate Chairman from November got few thousands coins Cheesy

If you seriously think that Bitcoin might have legal problems after what was said on November hearing and after that, than you live in your little XRP cuckoo land.

XRP is the next step for crypto you'll discover that in few months.

I have 400k XRP and will surely buy more if it drops a bit. That doesn't mean I think Bitcoin is going back to 50$ like you do since you sold yours for Ripple and fiat Wink

Not saying bitcoin is gonna drop to 50$ tomorrow. But maybe the day after tomorrow; when the time of regulation is passed and when better competitor will appear bringing REAL UTILITY we'll see if bitcoin don't burst ...

Well, keep waiting for that. What else I can say.
4138  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 27, 2014, 06:06:08 PM
Bitcoin had much bigger shit happening and haven't give a flying one for more time Tongue
Sure, other shady exchanges got busted, and their operators were arrested or on the run.

But so far the discourse was "those are peripheral incidents by outsiders, the core of the bitcoin movement is a bunch of honest people who are working within the law for the good of mankind."

It will be rather difficult to say that after this arrest, no?  Who is the core of the Bitcoin movement, if it is not the Foundation?

There may be substantial tolerance for drug use in the US, but I don't think that it extends to drug  traffickers -- that is how the FBI is describing Shrem.

Shrem will get his medicine, and we move on. I hope you really don't think that politics is done on that way. It's based around interests, mostly private ones, and if there was no interest to keep Bitcoin going, it would be shut down long time ago. Sinve there obviously is, and since this investigation was ongoing for months, Senate committee in November said - you're free to go guys, we'll deal with bad boys from your group and you just keep making us rich Cheesy

As usual, price drops as a result of something that has nothing to do with bitcoin.

"Some kid eats a dollar bill and chokes to death, dollar plummets against Euro."

Vice chairman of Bitcoin Foundation. For sure this is a GREAT NEWS for the next US regulation hearings !!

Yes, because they started investigating him yesterday and never knew about his business when last hearing happened. Investigations usually last 1 or two days, lol. Hehe.

Yeah it's improving bitcoin lobbying credibility
