4121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto gambling is the worst piece of shit you can imagine on: June 18, 2021, 03:58:26 PM
Well it just shows you Crypto is not idiot proof!

We use Alt coins with almost zero fees when we deposit coins into our favorite casinos... and we avoid the casinos that only accepts Bitcoin. We also have the advance that our gambling money can "grow" ..when the price goes up, so you do not play with the coins.. when the price goes down.  Wink

Use USDT or other stable coins, when you have to wait for the price to go up to play with the more volatile coins. Eazy Peazy .... Cheesy

4122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin be the biggest bubble economy in history? on: June 18, 2021, 01:26:05 PM
The macroeconomic state in which asset value surpasses the real economy and easily loses the ability for sustainable development is the bubble economy. The bubble economy is often supported by a lot of speculation, and its essence is greed. To put it simply, in a loose monetary environment, asset prices deviated from the fundamentals, and then soared and plummeted. The bubble economy has repeatedly appeared in human history, such as the tulip mania in the Netherlands. Even now, many people think that the US stock market, Chinese real estate, and Bitcoin are the three major financial and economic bubbles. What do you think, do you think Bitcoin will become the biggest bubble economy in history?

Where are all these Newbie Trolls coming from?

Strange how they only Cherry pick certain things and then build a fictional story around it. We have had some of the biggest bubbles in history in the Fiat markets.. " Real Estate and Stock Market Bubble / Dotcom Bubble / Housing Bubble "

Thing is.... when we comment on this nonsense, we effectively give them exposure to spread their nonsense.. because the thread is bumped... but just drop some "reality" and true facts and leave it there to air.  Roll Eyes

4123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ⚽Ronaldo / Coca-Cola/ Bitcoin ₿ on: June 18, 2021, 11:11:53 AM
Why would anyone worry if Ronaldo own or use Crypto currencies? The guy is a Soccer player, not an expert financial Guru..  Roll Eyes  ....Oh, oh.. Sheep follow a shepherd ...even if the shepherd lead them to a cliff.  Roll Eyes

Ok, Ronaldo did the right thing .... because Coca~Cola is toxic and unhealthy and celebrities like him have a responsibility not to promote something that might be harmful to their followers... but how long did he get millions from that sponsorship ..before he did that?

I would much rather see an expert in Payment systems, coming forward to promote Crypto currencies.  Wink
4124  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: General Motors May Start Accepting Bitcoin If There's Customer Demand on: June 18, 2021, 09:31:09 AM
Well, most people only "use" their bitcoins when the price is at a ATH... so they might have to wait for a while. Unfortunately Crypto currencies like Bitcoin lost almost 50% of it's value in the last couple of months.. so it does not make sense for people to spend it now.

If they "test" the market now, they will be disappointed, because not a lot of customers are going to use their coins now and new people will not have an incentive to convert Fiat to Crypto ..just to buy a car. (Well, if they give a discount for people who buy with Crypto.. they might get some sales)  Cheesy
4125  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Why do people say hardware wallets are unhackable? on: June 17, 2021, 03:56:46 PM
What is the Malware going to do? I have to physically "push" a button on my device to confirm the transaction, so the Malware has to intercept that input and then duplicate that to the computer? I also use the buttons on the device to enter my password.. so the Malware cannot "capture" the keyboard.. because I am not using my keyboard to login to the device.  Grin

There was someone that used specialized tools to physically hack the device (Trezor) by intercepting the signal, but they had access to the device and they did not do this over the Internet. (Long time ago..when the Trezor was just launched)  Wink
4126  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Netflix's Money, Explained: E04 Gambling on: June 17, 2021, 02:17:45 PM
I watched it too, but I was a bit disappointed that they did not go a little deeper into the tricks used by casinos to get people to gamble more and more. The people in the industry says... "The best kind of gambler for a casino is a drunk gambler." - The drunk gambler are more likely to bet higher and lose track of how much they have gambled, so some casinos offer alcoholic drinks for free to people in the casino.  Roll Eyes

You will also never see windows and clocks in a casino, because they want you to lose track of time. You also get a "Free Room" in the Hotel, because they do not want you to go home. They also introduce "Player's Club Levels" ..so the more you play the higher you move up the levels. (The best benefits are at the top levels, so all the players want to climb the ladder and they spend more money to get there)

These are just some of the tricks used.... and they did not even cover any of them.  Roll Eyes
4127  Economy / Economics / Re: USD Inflation over the last century. Bitcoin can protect you even in the US. on: June 17, 2021, 12:54:59 PM
Inflation rate is a flawed measurement ... because it is being manipulated by governments. So, what they do is this... they will never measure the inflation on the same goods and services every year. Inflation is an increase in the level of prices of the goods and services that households buy... but the governments add or remove some goods and services from that CPI basket to suit their manipulated basket.

Some of the goods and services that rise a lot, will be removed from the basket.. so you do not see a real picture of the price increases. (Health & medical and electricity prices and rates etc...)  Roll Eyes

You only see what the government want you to see... because they know salary negotiations are linked to Inflation. If they can keep it low... then salary increases can also be kept low.  Roll Eyes
4128  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - Casino & Sports - UFC Official Betting Partner - Play Smarter 🥊 on: June 17, 2021, 11:32:18 AM
There is again some interesting promotion to celebrate Israel Adesanya's win at UFC263, so by placing a bet on Marlon Vera to win against Davey Grant this weekend at UFC Fight Night!
He is younger fighter with small reach advantage and bookies favorite to win this fight, but I don't think it will be so easy as offs suggest.
It's going to be random draw and note that there is minimum $5 bet for this promotion, and you can win much more and share $10,000 in Dogecoin with 20 people:
https://promotions.stake.com/10k-dogecoin-drop/

Yes.. It's great, but not good for people who wants to stay private... because they introduced this " Stake reserves the right to perform additional KYC/AML checks as a condition of receiving prize. " as a new requirement to claim the prize. *sad

In any way, I will drop a few Dollars on it .. because I have seen both of them fight and it is going to be a good match up. It will be nice if I win something in the draw... but it is not going to be the reason why I bet on it.  Wink
4129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If governments block Bitcoin, does Bitcoin have no value? on: June 17, 2021, 08:45:15 AM
In Bitcoin-based transactions, about 76 billion US dollars of transactions are involved in illegal activities each year, accounting for about 46% of the total Bitcoin transactions. Almost a quarter of bitcoin users, and nearly half of bitcoin transactions, are illegal. Therefore, from a quantitative point of view, the use of Bitcoin is enough to become the target of attention of governments and international criminal police. If governments block Bitcoin, does Bitcoin have no value?

So who is making up all these statistics? I transferred 1 bitcoin to my brother the other day... what government agency tracked that transaction and then categorized it as legal or illegal? OP's thumb must be bright red from all this thumb sucking numbers and statistics.. right.  Roll Eyes

Governments does not determine Bitcoin's value, because the value is determined by Supply & Demand. So, government will target the centralized trading platforms and merchants to influence the demand. What will happen when the governments target those centralized platforms..? Well, they go decentralized and they go onto the Dark markets.... and governments do not get their taxes from those transactions.  Wink
4130  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How is gambling taxed? on: June 16, 2021, 02:14:08 PM
Most governments could care less on how much you lose... they are only interested in your winnings and how money moves through these casinos. The KYC regulations are there to identify the gambler and then to determine how much money is deposited and how much money is pushed through the different casinos. (They track money laundering through the regulated casinos)

In many countries gambling income is considered to be non-taxable if it is an occasional hobby, but once you are professional... you have to pay taxes on that income, just like your salary are being taxed.

Some countries see Lotto winnings as a capital event, so you need to declare the winnings in your tax return as a non-taxable event.  Roll Eyes
4131  Economy / Economics / Re: Is money the root of all evil as the poor to thinks? on: June 16, 2021, 10:57:42 AM
I think the difference between the "Rich" persons mindset and the "Poor" persons mindset is rooted in what they perceive "wealth" to be.

Poor people value "friendship" and "Health" and "family" a lot more than "Rich" people and you see this, when you look a bit deeper into the facade of the wealth that are being used as a shield for their happiness. A lot (not all rich people) of them will chase money so hard, that they will neglect their family and health and friends.

The root of all evil is when you have to use your wealth to buy your friends and the love of your family.  Wink

4133  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-04-27]New Cloud Technology-Based Cryptocurrency Challenging Bitcoin on: June 16, 2021, 09:07:22 AM
Another buzzword-laden shit coin. This is all you need to know:

Quote
There's nothing on consensus mechanisms in any form on the site, nor anything about the code. I've seen similar "comparison lists" on the OneCoin site. Unless they come forth with anything that actually addresses these basic and fundamental issues, they are uninteresting whatever their other claims. They seem to aim their marketing at people who have read some news about cryptos who do want to get rich, but want to do this without any risk. Crypto without cryptography makes no sense.

Next....

It really is shocking how little people research these coins before they throw all their money into them.  Same way that DASH got such a crazy pump with no real uses or explanations.

It only appeared better because no one was actually using it yet.  Send a transaction with a coin that has super low transaction volume and it'll be easy.   Just because of that these coins can get away with spouting loads of crap about instant transactions and boast about their supposed superiority to Bitcoin.

See, I have to differ with you... DASH is one of the Privacy coins and it's use case is clearly targeted at a niche market.. where people need more anonymity. One of the places where you will see it's use case, will be the DarkNet and these underground market places.

A lot of these new coins pitch some mumble jumble to create some new niche use case and then they start with the hype to tell people that it will replace Bitcoin or it will blow other coins out of the market.... but it seldom happens. (Cloud computing is the latest buzzword in the IT industry, so these developers just jumped onto that bandwagon)  Roll Eyes
4134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the Lightning Network Solve ALL Scalability Issues? on: June 16, 2021, 08:21:07 AM
Obviously other currencies have been aiming to tackle the scalability issues that Bitcoin is being presented with.

Obviously if the Lightning Network is not successfully implemented, the likes of coins like XRP will fill in the gap that banks need for fast cheap liquidity.

Will the lightning network be game over for the rest of the ALT coins that are borderline built on scalability?

Let me know what you guys think.

I think one of the drawbacks of a add-on type of technology like this.. is the complexity. People are already struggling to understand the basic concept of Bitcoin and now they have to over complicate it, by adding more things to it.  Roll Eyes

Technology should never be too complicated on the "user" side... or adoption will be hampered. People want a wallet and they want to deposit and withdraw... that's it...  Roll Eyes   (Running Lightning Network hubs and all that nonsense is for techies... not for your average public out there)  Angry

4136  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - Casino & Sports - UFC Official Betting Partner - Play Smarter 🥊 on: June 15, 2021, 12:55:02 PM
Stake came into gambling service as a key platform for casino games. Later it started its sportsbook. Right now it is completely power-packed with the availability of all form of games. The sports betting platform is being popularised than the traditional ones through large number of sports players as ambassadors which is the unique thing of Stake against other gambling platforms.

True that. Stake only had casino games initially but they moved to the sportsbook space later on and they have been doing a very good job so far so good. Aside from having some of the best partnerships in the space, Stake recently introduced live streams and has been improving it since. I believe that in the near future, Stake will be the biggest crypto sportsbook. Currently, we get the best odds, UFC partnerships and ambassadors, not to mention live streams and other interesting promos every other day.

They are building on their sportsbook and the UFC partnership combined with the promotions and highest odds makes them interesting. But if you compare them to fiat bookies than these bookies still outperform Stake. It would be nice if Stake could add more markets such as player specials (in soccer matches), team specials, ...

Stake is fairly new to the UFC (Sport betting) scene, so I do not think you can compare them to the fiat bookies at this stage. Just give them some time, because they are marketing it very aggressively and they are pumping a shitload of money into promoting (I think 5) UFC Fighters.  Roll Eyes

The Stake logo in the ring was the cherry on the cake for me this past weekend and I love the fact that you can watch the Live Stream from the site.  Wink  (The risk free bet up to $50 is a nice strategy to get people to bet on the UFC fights)  Wink
4137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin’s time is now on: June 15, 2021, 07:10:03 AM
The Store of Value is debatable, because Bitcoin has lost 50% or more of it's value on two or three occasions in the past... so if you were forced to sell your coins during the "recovery" phase.. you would have lost a lot of money.  Roll Eyes

Bitcoin still has the slightest advantage in having a massive user support and merchant network and huge trading volume, so it will take time for other "Shitcoins" to equal or better that. Bitcoin are also backed by the most hashing power, so it is pretty secure against 50% attacks and double spending, which is a huge advantage over all the other "Shitcoins"  Wink
4138  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcointalk forum mobile app on: June 14, 2021, 12:43:25 PM
I see a lot of people saying that it is a bad idea, but what device is with people 24/7? ===> Answer : Their Mobile phone...  I personally think it is a great idea, if it is well executed. I have used different browsers on my Mobile phone and it is a frustrating experience with all of them.

Also, most young people do not even use computers anymore... but they are seldom more than a few yards from their phones. Why not just hire some good developers and just create something more user-friendly that are targeted at Mobile phones.  Huh

When you are away from your home and work ....you still want a good experience visiting Bitcointalk.org... so why not have a App specifically for those instances?
4139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Musk say's he'll re-invest in BTC when +50% of ASIC miners are GREEN on: June 14, 2021, 11:18:02 AM
I get the feeling Musk is pitching this whole "Green" energy challenge to create a demand for his "Power Wall" or the batteries that are being manufactured in his factories, because Solar and Wind generators goes hand in hand with electric batteries. (small scale)

Musk never say or do something without some hidden agenda, so I too will not be surprised if he plans to develop some "Green" solution for this fabricated problem. (He might already have hired some Crypto developers to develop a MuskCoin and to link that to his "Power Wall" or something under development.)  Roll Eyes
4140  Economy / Economics / Re: Not just money but oil is most important in the World on: June 14, 2021, 07:52:33 AM
How does the USA control oil? They only produce 20% of the world production, with Saudi Arabia producing about 12% and Russia about 11% and Canada 6% ....................

You can still make war when you have some countries with oil that will come together to fight against the USA. I doubt that Russia or Saudi Arabia will fight with the USA in a World War III scenario....

A typical scenario will be that Saudi Arabia (12%) and Russia (11%) and China (5%) and Iraq (4%) and Iran (4%) and Kuwait (3%) will come together to fight against the USA .... and they will control almost 40% of the global oil production.  Shocked
