4121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Will Not Devalue To Zero on: August 14, 2022, 11:10:17 PM
bitcoin and Ethereum are the basic of cryptocurrency coins and I don't see them going to zero as much as I believe that bitcoin will not plummet to zero I also does with ethereum also. Those two coins have been there since inception and they are the most safest coin that I can advise anyone to invest in in my opinion, most of the altcoins that are now having their own blockchain started from ethereum before they migrate to their own personal blockchain, ethereum is really a strong project it can't go to zero

I support this position. It seems to me that something very catastrophic must happen for ETH to collapse to zero.

The most likely scenario is that it turns into a centralized currency and thus loses its decentralization and thus its users will gradually abandon it. I know that the applications that are developed on the network using smart contracts are numerous and supported by powerful projects but this is not enough to support the network.
What happened with the Luna network provides a clear example, and applications have been able to migrate to other networks to avoid collapsing as well as developers abandon network support and update.

Yeah, but when Ethereum shift to PoS, they might, at a certain level loses that decentralization? So it's a argument of PoW being not environment friendly against PoS which they might lost decentralization.

But in any case, it is done already, they are moving to PoS, there merger has been successful in testnet. And I'm also in the majority that  Ethereum will not be devalue to Zero. It's too big already, maybe have invested a lot of money, like 32 Ethereum to become a validator.
4122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Expect The Bear Season. on: August 14, 2022, 10:55:26 PM
Yea yea, let's scare people with gox coins once again.

I can find numerous past articles that tried the same thing. In November of last year which was like 10 months ago the articles were pointing to the distribution starting in a few months.
https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/currencies/mt-gox-bitcoin-settlement-payouts-9-billion-dollars-early-2022-2021-11
Maybe it will happen by the end of the year, maybe not.

AFAIK they will be sending people fiat money not bitcoins so they will sell these, but I doubt they will just dump it all on one exchange. That would be foolish and would mean losses for the people who are supposed to be paid back.

Here is the official document so that everyone can see,

https://www.mtgox.com/img/pdf/20220706_announcement_en.pdf

So it's either the recipient has choice of lump sum repayment, cash, bitcoin and or bitcoin cash.

Chances are there will be will availing of the lump sump here, and maybe few on crypto as they have suffered enough of waiting for years. And with that said, cash will be the better options, unless they still want to go to and hold their bitcoin and or bitcoin cash in this bear market.

And there is also an assignment, meaning not all claimants will get everything at the same time (cash or crypto). Going to be a slow process for August up to the end of the year or when all payments have been made.

And thanks to this kind of FUD, members are now well aware as to what will go down to this Mt. Gox repayment program if it has an effect on the market to put it below the last lowest low of $17,500.
4123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino can play a role in changing fortune? on: August 14, 2022, 10:36:13 PM
Smith has been smart and invested gambling profit in business instead of going for more profit on the same day.  Usually gamblers leave casino after losing every single $ and don't want to take profit due to being in illusion of unlimited chances to win money.  As counter argument to encouraged story,  many gamblers sold their business to win the amount they lost on the casino.  It depends on luck anyways.

I guess it's more of self control on his side, he brought an amount of money and perhaps in the beginning he has a target returns. And if he get to the point, exit, with the money go back to his company and then reinvest what he had just to make the company afloat for the meantime. And he is a business savvy because he was able to let his company survived that time and still now standing as one of the biggest company in the world. Feel good story, but for sure majority of us who tried to gamble have lost every dollar.
4124  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: August 14, 2022, 10:19:21 PM
Dan Rafael is a good source, as he is a legendary boxing writer, and let's hope that what he leaks in true though. I mean we all have been speculating this fight for months now and hope that it will happen in October, the first date that circulated. And then there is news blackout from both camps although we have seen Showtime Stephen Espinoza and even Crawford himself going into the public and giving some updates, but still it's not that clear. So again, good to hear that there is progress, but we will have to wait for the final announcement.
4125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance want the best for crypto space on: August 14, 2022, 12:05:59 PM
The hacker acted like an idiot by not using the mixer, but Binance and CZ did their job like a successful cop. That's why Binance and CZ deserve congratulations. As cryptocurrency users, we should thank them. They have done a beneficial job for our ecosystem.

Well he is so brilliant that he was able to stole that $500,000++ from Curve. Nevertheless as all eyes are watching with his address and he thinks that he is invincible and depositing it to Binance without mixing it, then that is his donwfall.

So almost all the money has been gotten back already and maybe the rest will definitely be retrieved as there is no way that the hackers can't move it without anyone noticing about the remaining stolen funds. And it will be complete if he will be caught and send to jail.

Result of the fight for

Teofimo Lopez VS Pedro Campa ROUND 7 KO/TKO - Teofimo Lopez win,

I don't really want to say that this fight is fixed but after seeing that fight pretty much it was a one-sided match, Tiofimo Lopez Speed was really creating that volume of punches, and he is really moving and punching at the same time, it was really meant for Teofimo Lopez to get this win, it was like Pedro Campa was set up for this fight, cherry picking him to be eaten by Teofimo Lopez, and on round 7 because Campa is taken so much punch to the face from Lopez the referee had stopped the fight and Lopez have won this fight via KO/TKO,

It's far from being fixed Lopez is just being the take-over guy he's fast powerful and too talented for Campa, Campa is doing his best but he's not in Lopez's league let's give Teofimo the praise that he deserves, we have just seen the old Lopez form and style I think he can beat Josh Taylor or anyone in that division and he can give Tank Davis a run for his money the way Lopez fight, Lopez has matured as a boxer with this fight.

It's more of a cherry-pick fight for Teo Lopez, so that he will look great and bring back his confidence after his defeat to Kambosos. And you can see in Campa's record that all of his opponent is not even close to what Teo have been beaten. So this is like a mismatch, a A-level class fighter against lower tier. For Campa's side, this might be his biggest paycheck in US dollar so even if he losses this fight, still a big privilege for him to fight in US soil.
4127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 14, 2022, 11:23:29 AM
I'm not sure the warriors owner or GM cares about the salary cap. They were over the cap this year and paid the luxury tax I believe. It's really just a matter of do they value Draymond and I think they do.

Maybe the Warriors value Green, but I doubt they will ever be ready to offer him a max contract. Honestly, I don't know exactly how much the Warriors paid the luxury tax this time. However, if the Warriors' owner and management hadn't really cared about the salary cap, they would've tried to keep the entire championship roster by satisfying the requests of some of the players who already left the team during this offseason.

I think the bottom line on the Green situation is that Curry wants them to offer Green the max, so they probably will.  Does he deserve it?  Probably not.  Maybe for what he's already done for them, but going forward he is most definitely not a max player.

Green also made news today by saying that Carmelo Anthony is a better scorer than Kevin Durant.  I doubt even he believes that, but maybe he's trying to sweet talk Anthony into signing a 1-year deal with the Warriors.

Even time Green open his mouth since he had that podcast, he always like try to make controversial statement or something. And it is obvious to hype his podcast so I will take everything with a grain of salt moving forward on everything he will say in the public.

And I think we all agree that Green is not a max contract player, specially that his plays are built around the Warrior system and that he perfected that. So it will be interesting to see him with other teams, make new adjustment and see if he can still perform like what he is doing as a Warrior.
4128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Teofimo Lopez vs Pedro Campa - Aug 13 on: August 14, 2022, 10:31:11 AM

This has got to be to most lifeless fixed fight I have seen. He knows Campa is no match against him but he wants to make it look like Campa is pressuring him in the corner. Teo makes it look like he had fought someone from a top class when in reality Campa is a 4th class fighter. Did any of you ever bet?

Agreed. Everyone has already known many months before what the purpose was for Teofimo Lopez's father when he agreed for Campa to be Teo's opponent for his return in the ring after he lost the championship to Kambosos. This is another ICO pump and dump scam from the promoters of boxing hehehehe.

Hehehe, as we all expected, Teo will win by either TKO/KO and that's what happen in this fight. And Campa is really not on the same league as Lopez as it was very evident from the first round, the contrasting style, stance, you can its vey different.

Let's wait for him and fight good boxers in this division to see if he can stand with the big punchers in this division. He mentioned a name after the fight, Prograis, that will be a good match and real test for Teo if he can fit in this 140 lbs division. The good thing is that he brings hype already, so maybe there will be fans going to watch now the Jr. Welterweight division.
4129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many ancient anonymous whales are there? on: August 14, 2022, 10:11:06 AM
Like people who explicitly bought or mined bitcoin with literally zero KYC back in the day when it was easy to do that. And are now moving the markets buying and selling. Is that still a thing or not?

I guess when bitcoin becomes an asset, store of value or even currency, the narrative has change. And then there are world financial bodies that want to control it, imposing KYC's. So yeah, that thing is gone already.

Or have pretty much all of the ancient whales touched an exchange or cashed out?

Maybe some of them haven't touch their bitcoin or cash it out. Others may have done it in succession every bull run, like in 2017 or 2021. Or some may have totally lost their access already, like this guy:

4130  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: August 14, 2022, 09:26:22 AM

4131  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bullish VS Bearish on: August 13, 2022, 11:59:18 PM
I entered this forum because I feel that the potential for bitcoin is huge in the future and of course it will remain the king of crypto. So obviously I don't believe bitcoin will fall to $1100 for now. unless the 10 largest exchanges in the world go bankrupt. I see a bullish trend which will then become new ATH.
That was the mindset. Yeah, we are hopeful that everything went well in the future and that Bitcoin will never disappoint us. Despite of the situation whether it was bearish or bullish, we still invest and risk some money for this believing that we can make a huge profit in the future, not that we think its price will drop and gives us losses. We really think it was impossible as it was not how it looks like.

The only way for bitcoin to fall is maybe if internet is being cut-off, but that is out of the equation, internet can't be stop. Certain countries can block it no doubt and censor everything, but not the world. So yeah, bitcoin might fall in prices but it doesn't mean that it will be doom and will not recover our losses. Sooner or later a bull run with happen, it's that the way market is, there is a period of relatively bearish, but after halving, the price will go on a massive bull run and topping it up with a new ATH. And maybe we are talking about 6 digit figure in 2024-25.
4132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum (ETH) on Its Way to $2,100, Top Trader Says ! on: August 13, 2022, 11:43:48 PM
Bitcoin hype was real but not for ethereum. I guess let's wait until the release of bitcoin mtgox and see what's gonna happen with the market. If so many holders from bitcoin mtgox wanna liquidate their bitcoin to the market and be careful a significant dump may come very soon. It's going to the 2100 caused by bitcoin was increasing steadily since last week but let's see how long this will be going on. Im bearish with the release of bitcoin mtgox.

I don't see the coins of Mt. Gox having an effect on the market, if it is then it will be just short term. As far as Ethereum, it has broken that $1,900 barrier for x times already. And maybe what I'm thinking is that if bitcoin breaks $25k and maintain it, then Ethereum will reach $2,000 or higher because of the merger. So we will have to see, everything seems to be very positive for now, all coins are green and seems to be bullish in short term.
4133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your General Feeling After Playing In Casino In the last 10 session on: August 13, 2022, 11:12:13 PM
I voted for Excited To Comeback, hehehe.  Win or lose, we are always looking for the next sessions, sports betting, card games and even slots. Specially if you end your previous sessions with a good win, for sure you will want to come back for more. And then if you lose, well, at least you enjoy but at the back of your mind, you are thinking to make a comeback and recover what you have lost.
4134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 13, 2022, 10:56:22 PM

https://www.spotrac.com/nba/golden-state-warriors/cap/2021/ according to this site, the Warriors owe 170 million dollars for the luxury tax of 2021-2022 season. I'm not 100% sure if I am reading that correctly, but it looks correct.

They also are 71 million dollars over the salary cap for 2022-2023 season so far.

It's obvious they don't care a ton about money or they woulda broke off some pieces before last season started. As long as the team makes a profit on the season, the owner is gonna keep over spending IMO.

And if you look at this stats:

https://twitter.com/LevAkabas/status/1558085896750202880/

So indeed the team owners are willing to spend millions if not billions of dollars to maintain their  championship DNA.

Just sad though that Clippers is still ringless as compare to other 2 California basketball teams (Lakers and Warriors). They have multiplied their values, Steve Ballmer really need to see that results.
4135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Haney vs Kambosos II (Undisputed) on: August 13, 2022, 10:29:07 PM
So Bob Arum is being futuristic for Devin Haney and is expecting another easy win by the undisputed champion. Bob said that Haney will get a Lomachenko fight although the Ukrainian needs a tune-up fight first. Devin Haney will have a lot of options if he beats Kambosos again. Inside Top Rank, there's Vassily Lomachenko, Shakur Stevenson, Teofimo Lopez, maybe Josh Taylor too if he will stay at 140, and Jose Ramirez. Outside of Top Rank, there's Tank Davis and Ryan Garcia.

Yes, we all know that it should be Kambosos vs Loma initially, but because of the war in his native country, Loma wasn't able to do that. So it is just right that he will get a first chance against Haney after the Kambosos rematch to get that title back. For casual fans, might not be good and boring because of Haney's style, but that will be tested against the best tactician we have. So style makes fight here. It could be like Loma vs Rigo though  Grin

4136  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: August 13, 2022, 10:10:38 PM
You can't blame us, LOL.. SMB has a huge number of fans compared to the Meralco, so it's just normal that we believe SMB will win. Next to Ginebra, it should be the SMB and it will be more entertaining to watch if SMB and TNT will play in the Finals.

It's more entertaining if TNT vs Meralco will play in the Finals. Cheesy

That will be huge if we see this 2 teams in the finals,  Angry

Just for a change as SMC teams are always in the Finals regardless of the Conference.

I'm looking forward to Meralco winning the series, not as their fan, but again for a change. They always lack short against SMC teams, especially against Ginebra and if they beat SMB here in the series, they will be recognized more by the PBA followers as they were able to beat the powerhouse Ginebra and SMB in All-Filipino Conference.

Meralco Bolts are still the underdog, so it will be good to bet on them with great odds 2.x. It will be a big task for the Bolts though, they need to play perfect specially in their defense, they will have to find a way to stop the big men of SMB.

But it good to see another do or die game, must watch for us, I have a feeling that maybe we will see OT to make it more exciting, hehehhe.
4137  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Breaks Past The $40,000 Barrier Again? on: August 13, 2022, 11:48:27 AM
It's just somewhat funny to go back to this kind of thread, the last update was May and we are talking about the $30k'ish barrier. And then  we went down and hit lowest low in $17,600 and now it seems the market is somewhat on a short term bullish trend.

and now we are going to attempt to break in $30k again, this is what I'm somewhat looking to see so that at least we may be safe to say that the bottom is in and we could be in a bullish run till December and maybe $40k is on the horizon.
4138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH could take over. on: August 13, 2022, 11:02:34 AM
Perhaps by now we should now why is there a hype on ETH right? it's because of the merger, a move to POS model for their network. And then you have to ask yourself, do we think that it is enough news and hype to overtake BTC?

Yes, it's the second biggest crypto, but we can't just simply see a power shift just because they will have the biggest and important event in their history. I will admit that it should be the news of the year specially if it will become very successful, but it's not enough to dislodge BTC if that's what their proponents is trying to drive at.
4139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Fernando Martinez vs Jerwin Ancajas rematch - Oct.8 on: August 13, 2022, 10:30:13 AM
^^ We gonna support him no matter what, if he losses again, then so be it. But if by chance he avenge his defeat then he could obviously get the belt back and win it for the Philippines again.

And if they see their mistakes in the first fight and let Ancajas box the way he wants then maybe we can see him winning but it will be a tough battle for sure. As you have said, Martinez now has the confidence an wanted to show that it's no fluke taking the belt from Ancajas.

That confidence will be gone if Ancajas will bounce back and beat him. Well, we can also expect a trilogy as it's not fair if Ancajas will say not for another fight after he beats Martinez, and for me, that will make their rivalry exciting to follow.

Yeah, perhaps a trilogy will be in the horizon if Ancajas win and fans wants more of this matchup. Maybe the picture is that Martinez leads in the scorecard and then Ancajas hit his patented power and knock out Martinez for good to get his belt back.

That will be a scenario waiting for a trilogy to happen. And for Jerwin, he really need to bounce back here, we can call this a 'necessary victory' that needed and before a winner takes all 3rd fight is to happen.
4140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Teofimo Lopez vs Pedro Campa - Aug 13 on: August 13, 2022, 09:46:15 AM
Here is the final weigh-in,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ze3TGRTPP6U

Teo Lopez - 138.8 lbs
Pedro Campa - 139.4

Lopez though looks very sharp, while Campa, I'm seeing somewhat of a weight drain. But we will see tomorrow. They still have at least 24 hours to bring themselves and eat and rehydrate.

Unfortunately, I check the sports bookies (stake and sportsbet), and so far only the ML is available.
