4121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Teofimo Lopez vs Pedro Campa - Aug 13 on: August 08, 2022, 01:26:06 PM
So far we have 9 votes total, 7 for Teofimo Lopez to win by KO/TKO. I guess it make sense for our boxing community to see Lopez as winning this fight against Pedro Campa.

Stake has it Lopez at 1.04 and Campa at 11.00. However, there is no odds for the KO and the over and under rounds. It could be 7.5 rounds, I reckon. But we will have to wait, can't bet on the ML for Lopez as there is no value. But if you love to bet on the underdog and pull an upset then Campa's odd is great.
4122  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bullish VS Bearish on: August 08, 2022, 11:06:42 AM
I think for one to truly understand the market they need to be aware of both the bullish and bearish cases for Bitcoin. There are many of each. I personally think that Bitcoin has broken the barrier of acceptance and as a result of Wall Street wanting to offer it as a new financial asset class to be managed will perform quite well. However, I also recognize that hodling has no value and Bitcoin could easily be surpassed by another more useful form of cryptocurrency. I guess as an investor you have to weigh each side and decide which will be right and which will not.
Not just understand, but at least experienced both bearish and bullish cycle. And then they can decide what will be the best strategy on both cycles. Personally, I already experience it, but still a lot of learning curve. I guess the Wall Street entering the picture was a big thing for us. Specially at the end of the bullish cycle in 2017, where CME and CBoE enters the picture. Anyhow, we've seen that governments are also getting into the market so we all know that in fact bitcoin or some crypto will be useful and going to stay for so long because of that kind of adoption.
I think that's the one that he mean, to experience the real thing because reading to understand is the same as being aware. Both are just lite but the real thing will be to experience the real thing. The best strategy once we are in a bear is to buy and hold, or if there are small fluctuations, small short trades can also works wonder while if we are in a bull run, it's obvious that the best strategy is only to sell.

I wouldn't advise to get a little greedy and hodl or buy some more as it's pretty risky. Wall street and other big names in the financial industry are good thing. Government getting into the market however are not always positive because sometimes they can order rules which are against to crypto.

It's just government though, It won't hav a big effect on the crypto market, there are even world financial body that has somewhat trying to impose regulations. They may have some successes as crypto exchange will have to follow like KYC and others.

And still though, we wanted to see the price to go and touch $25k, so far its not going to happen, the psychological barrier is to big to break right now although we have remain above $23k for quite sometime. Maybe we will see break out run later.
4123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: RUIZ VS ORTIZ SUN, SEP 04, 2022 10PM ET EASTERN TIME/ on: August 08, 2022, 10:48:26 AM
Here is the full kick off press conference, you can see the Andy Ruiz has really trimmed down in weight, you can barely recognized him right now. Luis Ortiz though, his age is really showing, but I think he can still fight and he still one of the biggest puncher in the heavyweight division.

And I agree that Ortiz problem will be his stamina, and he knows it, but he has a good head movement and has a quick feet to step in and out. Also not just stamina, but the question on his chin, Ruiz is a big puncher and so once he landed one solid punch, his chin might not cope with the power.

Nakita nyo ba ung ginawa ni Dejounte Murray kay number 1 Paolo Banchero?

Mukang mainit tong 2 na to, hehehe, parang may personalan na nangyari.

Quote
Murray embarrassed the Magic rookie, going up-and-under on Banchero, throwing an alley-oop to himself off the backboard, and then dunking on the 2022 top pick. Murray then landed on his feet and made sure to tell Banchero all about what he just did to him.

https://www.si.com/extra-mustard/2022/08/08/dejounte-murray-completes-poster-dunk-over-paolo-banchero-at-summer-pro-am-game

4125  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: August 08, 2022, 09:59:02 AM
I agree, it was a bold prediction by one of the legends, Bernard Hopkins. Although Canelo is no longer with them (Golden Boy), he is still ion the bandwagon,  Grin. So we respect that.

But then again, boxers, boxing 'experts' and fans have its own speculation. Even in our community, and for us we wanted to see GGG winning the fight, it will be good if this is going to be by stoppage or knock out. But we wanted to see at the end, his hands being raised as the winner.
I respect Hopkins he has done a lot for boxing as a boxer and as a promoter, he could have made a prediction that Canelo will win against GGG by the decision but for Canelo knocking out GGG easily I just don't know where this coming from, that's to much confidence on Canelo and a big disrespect for GGG, he should back it up if he is confident on his prediction by daring anyone for 1 million bets, he might eat his own words I am on the community that GGG still has what it takes to beat him after GGG has never been dominantly beaten or even knocked out.
He might be thinking that GGG is already old and Canelo who came from a dissapointing lose will try to redeem himself. I know he will be wrong because GGG is not an easy opponent, although Canelo won the last fight but the last two fights was very controversial, which means no clear winner in the eyes of the fans.

No disrespect to Hopkins and others like Roy Jones, however, let me pointed out Bernard predictions on Canelo vs Bivol,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjPMaiYHu9c

Quote
“He smashes him. Mashed potatoes all over the place. Another smash event, smashes him."

Fast forward to 0:24 and you will hear what his thoughts on the fight and according to him Canelo will "smashed" Bivol. But the complete opposite happens in the fight, and Canelo lost the fight. So he got completely wrong with his prediction, just saying.
4126  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 08, 2022, 09:31:40 AM
There is a fight this weekend, it Vergil Ortiz Jr. vs Michael McKinson at welterweight division.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTu7fndVXHU

Probably this is a cherry pick fight for the comebacking Ortiz Jr. Almost a year lay-off so he needs some tune up fight so that can maybe go for the belt in his next fight.

He is rated on all sanctioning bodies, and is in the top 5.

This is also be an eliminator fight for the WBA Welterweight in addition for Ortiz's WBO International Welterweight Title.

So now that Ortiz won, he should be next in line for the WBA belt, held by Spence.
4127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Japanese Animation Slot Machines on: August 08, 2022, 09:06:59 AM
It's just like any other hollywood or sport inspired slot machines. I used to play "Sex in the City" way back, and then lately "Iron Man", theme casinos lately.

So for the fans of this anime,"Madoka Magica", (I'm not familiar with it), this could be huge though. But then again, still based on the RTP%. So if you are a smart slot machine player, you will have to check what is this game RTP before deciding if it is worth or not.
4128  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC Ever Reach $100k? on: August 08, 2022, 05:39:39 AM
Well prediction is a hit or miss, we really don't know what is going to happen until we reaches that point.  One famous speculation is that the price of bitcoin is projected to hit $100k in December last year, unfortunately, after hitting the $69k mark, everyone thought that we can still go up. But there is a huge sell-off and then we enter the dreaded bear market. So maybe in the next bull run we will try and attempt to hit $100k, and chances are we might do it this time.
Judging from the current bitcoin price movement which is experiencing a bit of pressure to move up after experiencing a very deep correction then I would not say that the bitcoin price could reach $100k in a short time, although I believe bitcoin can reach that high but in the current state I think it will take a bit longer for bitcoin and hopefully after the halving day happens it can have an impact on bitcoin price going up and touching $100k.

I'm talking about the next bull run that we are going to see in 2024-25. For now I don't see it as their are still selling pressures from all front, specially coming from speculators and day trader and perhaps some whales as well.

But if you are talking about the halving in May 2024 and then it will be followed by the rise, very close and then it will catch up and see the bull run that year, then I would say that $100k can be breached and that will be the new all time high.
4129  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 08, 2022, 04:23:37 AM
^^ It could be the last straw that finally nail the coffin for Durant to request a trade, specially if Irving was ship to other team as well. Will continue the drama for Durant and he doesn't like Ben, the way I read it. Nevertheless he has a meeting with the owner a few days ago if I'm not mistaken and maybe this is one point that they have may discussed, how to deal with the continuing Ben Simmons drama that spill over from Sixers to their Nets.
4130  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC Ever Reach $100k? on: August 06, 2022, 11:59:13 PM
I have never been pessimistic about the price of bitcoin, if there is a prediction that maybe now we say impossible but it has often happened, when the 2018 price was below $5k from the 2017 ATH position of $19k many were pessimistic but many were optimistic that the price would skyrocketed again, and I don't think $100k is a hard thing to achieve.

Well prediction is a hit or miss, we really don't know what is going to happen until we reaches that point.  One famous speculation is that the price of bitcoin is projected to hit $100k in December last year, unfortunately, after hitting the $69k mark, everyone thought that we can still go up. 4131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Teofimo Lopez vs Pedro Campa - Aug 13 on: August 06, 2022, 11:37:25 PM
The odds though doesn't change, Campa is still almost 9:1 underdog, just thinking it will not hurt if we throw some money on the underdog?
It's up to you, $2-$5 is still make sense.

Yup why not. But it's better if we are not going to lose money here.

Honestly I don't think Campa might pull an upset because he only fought an amateur boxers and this fight is the first for Campa on US as he only fought on his home e.g. Mexico. If the crowd will make him insecure and can't show all of his performance, he will be in trouble to face Lopez. Lopez is a skillful boxer and he's already cherry pick his opponent, he must win this fight.

Yes, he hasn't fought that much in the States so he might not be comfortable going outside and fighting in the US. But he knows that this is a perfect opportunity for him. And for sure, Lopez will give the most money in this fight and Campa just enough for him to be in the main card against Lopez. It's a must win for him, and maybe score a big knockout.
4132  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Error Analysis in Bitcointalk Forum on: August 06, 2022, 11:06:53 PM
How about "translation error", we've seen cases wherein someone translated something into a different language (and they supposed to be a native speaker). But when the translation is done, it missing some context, and sometimes to the point that it looks like the person uses a machine to translate it word for word. Like this cases:

4133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 06, 2022, 10:14:09 PM
Regarding the much anticipated fight between Davis and Ryan Garcia, Tank said or at least his promotion, Floyd Mayweather that he is not going to fight Ryan at 135 lbs. So Ryan needs to go down to 135 lbs since his last 2 fights where in the limit of 140 lbs. For sure he can still make this weight and schedule the fight this December or early next year so that we will see who is the best in the 135 lbs and then Garcia can move on to 140 lbs if he wanted to.

Going down in weight is very much easy for Garcia, I think he can make it.

The problem is with the network, both are in the two opposing, DAZN and Showtime, and according to Oscar they could make the fight happen if both of this two network are willing. But it seems that for now Showtime doesn't like the idea or maybe even DAZN. So we will see how Oscar and Floyd are going to work this one out for the fans.

Well there is no doubt that it is evident that the business model is above the sport and this is somewhat painful in my opinion, because both should know that the fans are the ones who make all the money possible, and allow the big punters or the whales have freedom on this, but it is completely necessary, at least I think, that this fight can take place this year, the fact that he has to lose weight I do not see as difficult for the boxer, it is only enough that he dedicates himself to do aerobic exercises and you will have results quickly, this is something that every boxer should do not only for the weight but to have enough resistance.

I hope that the sponsors manage to do something positive and the fight takes place, and that this time the sport is the one that stands out.

Yes, but it is also competition for them out there, that model is built not just in boxing but in other sports as well. And it's painful because the fans are not rewarded with good fights that we are supposed to see like Garcia vs Davis. But believed me, if the money is there, this networks will have no choice but to discussed the possibility, and then could make the fight happen fr us. There is pride behind this all network executive, but they can't deny that in order for their company to stay, they have to make this kind of fight for us.
4134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 06, 2022, 03:01:49 PM
I think they have the experience, but the injuries though, it really derail everything from them, DeRozan, Ball, Lavine and even Caruso get injured last season. At least they were able to salvage their season, goes into the playoff but eventually lost. And this is a good lessons drawn for them. So now they have added a experience player in Dragic, I wouldn't be surprised if this time, they are going to be in the top 4. And Lavine and DeRozan could be the best duo. I find one article saying that they are in the top 5 last season. Although some in the list is questionable and now out dated.

https://fadeawayworld.net/nba/top-10-best-nba-duos-for-the-2021-22-season
Pippen and Jordan? Nah?  Cheesy
Thumbs up to Zach LaVine, for accepting DeRozan into their roster. It's not easy for a star to accept a new star that will be able to lift their team.
It's egos all over the wall of the locker room for some players.
That's why I think the Bulls will have a good future if they keep these two guys.
Now, regarding the roleplayers to be added, there's a bunch of players that knew about playoffs experience and I posted it days ago. Cousins, IT, Schroder, and more. These players don't really need good pay, it's the opportunity they are looking for to be on the front again.
Bulls management should look unto that.

I think it's more on the side of Lavine, maybe he understand that he alone can't win ring for the Bulls. So he is willing to share the limelight with DeRozan and we could say that they click instantly. No ego nor drama but either one of them. It's not they are bothered by injuries.

But as far as those players that doesn't have a team yet, the Bulls has a decent center already in Vucevic and recently acquire Drummond as back up. And then they get Dragic as point guard so IT and Dennis Schroder is out of the picture as well.
4135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul v Hasim Rahman Jr / Amanda Serrano V Brenda Carabaja co-main event Aug on: August 06, 2022, 02:28:32 PM
@Baofeng. He almost made the weight? This fight would have been a very clear knockout win for Jake Paul, I reckon hehehe. Jake Paul was very wise to demand 205 because he does not want to risk reducing the odds of his victory versus a real professional boxer.

Yep, almost 205 lbs, not sure what Rahman is trying to get here, but maybe he was trying to emphasize that maybe if we went over 205 lbs (the agreed weight), the excess weight could be subtracted to his purse, but I don't know.

In any case, to save Jake's reputation as a promoter, the next he should do is to have the fight against Tommy Fury organized this year because a victory versus Tyson Fury's brother would certainly increase Jake's popularity as a boxer, a promoter and a showman. I think as a showman, he is a genius following the footsteps of other genius showmen like Vince McMahon and Andy Kaufman.

He could, and that is the original plan in the first place, fight Tommy Fury. Anyhow, he could still be a good promoter, or shall we say he can make a lot of money by hyping all his fights in the future.
4136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Confused wallet user on: August 06, 2022, 02:01:23 PM
I am confused right now,  I did some research on the solana hack I I came to understand that slope wallet is the main issue, my question is why are wallets backing up users recovery phrases in a log file? Yeah it got compromised somehow that's how hackers get those files but why in the first place is wallet doing this? Are other wallets like this?...
If you need secure storage, then use hardware wallets. They are configured without connecting to a computer and your seed phrase is safe. Mobile wallets are not secure and are the most vulnerable to hacking. For solana, you can use a ledger or trezor, they are compatible with the defi ecosystem.

Or maybe an air-gap wallet could also be a good options for us. Regarding the question about the Slope wallet, yes they are to liable. Although they said that they are cooperating with Ottersec to collect all data so that they can make a post mortem report.

They even have an address now for the hackers if ever they decided to return and get the bounty they offered (I doubt it though). So maybe there could be people who can monitor this wallet: DyQ96GwjkHkGSzYEB4NaPk2NxsXyRTMNHKJQd3fziABf

4137  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for August on: August 06, 2022, 01:13:17 PM
I think a lower low will form before the end of 2022. We will trend mainly sideways for the first half of 2023 but start to slowly rise as the halving in April 2024 nears.

I very much agree, however, I disagree on the lower low. There will not be a lower low, I reckon. I also speculate a pump to $25,000 is very much possible for this month. But September is another month and we might witness another dump under $25,000 hehehe.

$25k might be the magic number for this month or even $30k, we still have like 4 weeks to accomplished that. Otherwise, if could be that the sideway pattern will continue. As for the lower low, I'm thinking that it is possible but maybe next year. Or at least when we are about to get to the block halving, we might see a lot of FUD again that will cause to market to crash and hit another lower low, just depend on what price it will be, perhaps it could go around $13k-$15k.
4138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 06, 2022, 12:44:49 PM
As much as we love Donaire as he is a sure fire boxing hall of famer, I think moving down to 115 lbs might is seemingly improbable. OF course we can't just say that the should be retiring after that huge knock out lost to Inoue, only him and Rachel could decide for that. However, moving down might not be a good idea, not sure why, but why not going up to 122 lbs?

Anyhow, if this fight happen, I will have him winning by knock out against Ioka, but will be a close one against Chocolatito.

He thinks he still has it, for a great boxer the mind is the last to admit it, but he will soon realize that the body cannot keep up, I just hope it's not too late his body is aging, it's not the same body he has 15 years ago he may have a good chance against Ioka or Chocolatito but time is running out for him, if he really loves boxy he can train young people or do an exhibition fight, the best time to do it is now, let's see in his next fight if this is his last fight or just want to add more title for his legacy.

I agree, again and again, top and great boxers still thinks that they still have it and is going to continue with their careers despite the obvious signs that they are way past their primes already and it the end, them keep fighting might bring more harm that good to them. Its the responslity of his father and Rachel (Nonito's wife and manager), to tell him right into his face that he should consider hanging up his gloves for real. His legacy has been cemented already, there is none to prove if he fight the 2 boxers that he mentioned he love to face.
I don't even know how Donaire can make it into the superfly limit. Seems impossible, but if he can make it then there's also the chance that he becomes champion again. He is old but his power is always his equalizer in the lower divisions. And if he becomes a champion at superfly, that would make him a 5 division champion which is very rare in boxing.

I think that's what his target, to be come a 5x division champion and only few exceptional boxers have accomplished that. But then again, just the question on how he can make the limit.

122 can take Donaire's power, this is the division where his prime started to score decisions rather than knockouts. WBA and IBF champion Akhmadaliev will KO Donaire. And WBO and WBC champion Stephen Fulton will school Donaire in 12 rounds.

I hope he retires for good. Maybe he should just start coaching if he still wants to continue his career in boxing.

122 is pretty much stack up, and he might not live into this division today.

Maybe he is going after the money, or more on his legacy, or he simply can't quit because he still feels he can win another championship belt. He can also start his own gym and yes, for sure he could be a good trainer. We have seen ex boxer becoming trainers.

Lakas sana nila noong OKC days ano? Durant, Harden, WB, at prime Ibaka.

Yes, ang laki ng offer ng Houston sa kanya talaga that time, at coming from the bench is Harden nung nasa OKC sila.

Ok maybe this is a promotional stunt by Rahman,

https://twitter.com/DonaghCorby_/status/1555657996662964224

He has a mocked up weigh-in, we all know that the fight has been cancelled already, maybe he just wanted to prove that he can make the 205 lbs. Because in the video, he weighed 206.6 lbs. He just came in 1½ lbs off the supposedly agreed weight.
