4141  Other / Meta / Manual Merit and Automatic Activities on: March 18, 2018, 04:10:12 PM
I have seen many threads on merit. Some posted on a wrong section and members posting right there even when they know it is on a wrong section either to make up their post count.

Merit has become a distraction to members and I'm sure to the mods too (if they would admit) because they would have had so much merit issues to deal with, from merit collaborators and related issues. Members now put up threads on merit issues, how to be merited and that... rather than throwing up bitcoin and related discussions.

Prior to the merit system, the automatic activities system upgrade never gave the forum this kind of infiltration threads on activities across the sections . And, even when they are, they were mostly on the meta section.

I think the reason for seeing such merit threads is because, it is manually given. If it were automatically merited,  the infiltration of threads won't be here with us.
4142  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the price of bitcoin rapidly going down??? on: March 18, 2018, 03:04:13 PM
Nope its because government are trying to minimize bitcoin which it can affect the prices of the market. Facebook and google are doing the ban as well and that can affect also the prices

I do not think that any of the ban story either from facebook nor google or even the bid to regulate by government is responsible for the drop of bitcoin. The price is dropping from my point of view because it is ranging. It is preparing to take a move. My advise is to hodl. Technically,  this is not a time to sell.
4143  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is the currency on: March 17, 2018, 07:31:19 PM
I suspect that bitcoin core itself might not be the one sort for in that regard. The volatility is very high and unstable. It can't give the confidence needed for sure plus the scaling and triffic .
4144  Other / Meta / Re: Merits for Constructive Opinion on: March 17, 2018, 04:44:09 PM
Well, you have just expressed how NOT interested you are in the forum and rather just rank up to earn which some sees it as a shameful reason to be here. If you really care for the forum and try to be more knowledgeable and informative in a way that you are promoting quality to this forum, you will not have much of a problem about the merit system being implemented. It was for a greater good and try not to think more about yourself only.

I'm thinking criticizing OP on the reason or not the reason opening a thread like this isn't really the point because certainly, many users here can't speak against being ranked up or gaining merit. We can advise on patients , putting more effort to learning more and working harder.
4145  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: will all the countries make cryptocurrency legal? on: March 17, 2018, 03:51:09 PM
Eventually, in my opinion, Bitcoin will be used in all countries be it legal or illegal.  Now that Bitcoin was introduced and gained many followers and members, nobody including government can  stop or control it.

There could be a very good sense in your position. That could be possible in the long run despite this early resistance. Back to memory lane when computer was newly introduced, some countries never saw anything good on it or meaningful. They also despised computer but today, the same computers are seen in every government office and almost in every private business premises whether active or dead with the vacuum tubes, transistors or integrated circult(depending on the model)running or not.

Bitcoin will get to the level of being integrated as part of to medium of payment someday.
4146  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: New to Trading on: March 17, 2018, 12:47:49 PM
With critical analysis, I believe that usage of a coin is very important and it links every other thing, from scarcity, to demand and supply. Lets look at this for instance, if the coin fulfils a very good niche and purpose, it simply means that the usage will be high which will have an effect on demand for it and that will course investors to see the coin as a source of investment. Hence, the popularity gives growing.
4147  Economy / Economics / Re: Why are people doing so many things to frustrate crytocurrency on: March 17, 2018, 08:53:40 AM
It is usually the whales who are doing things to frustrate cryptocurrencies.
The logic is easy, they dump at higher price, spread FUD, and then buy at lower price and repeat.
Since they have tons of money and Bitcoin, it is possible to play the market especially a lower cap coins.

I guess the whales are the owners of Facebook and Google or the forum as well to have caused things frustrating crypto currencies. What people don't know is that little things matter. On the forum here, go to the currency exchange section, goods, or even the scam accusations thread and you will have an idea of ridiculous things people are doing to make cents but covered with bad intention to scam another person. Would you say they are the whales. The whales might be manipulating the price but they are playing by the rules.

If you then go outside the forum, the trust has fallen so bad that personally, any ICO or project that I see as a result of Google ad, I will have to triple check before even considering to put some money would you blame the whales for that too. Until there is a change in orientation that playing according to the rules would generate decent income,  there would always be attacks from outside forces against crypto currencies because they will continue to have something to rely upon as reasons for their actions.

If the whales in bitcoin are actually the owners of these giant social media networks, then I could also be thinking they could have a hand in trying to push price down to acquire more bitcoin and target altcoins.

However, for people being defrauded, it has been in the habit of man to cheat the other person. Some people are born that way. They always circumvent the rules to make a living. So for every financial platform or means of making money, we should expect every class of human being.
4148  Economy / Economics / Re: after Facebook on: March 17, 2018, 05:53:15 AM
Ever news affects the crypto users especially the holders, I don't know why we get too affected on banning when in reality it is just the ICO that needs to be alarmed not the market, before I gets too panicked when price drops but after I see how those coins I sell before increase now, I don't fear now as long as the project of that coin is still moving.

People don't panic because of the news but because the price gets affected with the news. That is,  if it won't affect the price, people won't have business with the fud.

One thing I think about the reason for news on icos affecting bitcoin is that hodlers of bitcoin don't really understand the difference between bitcoin and ico.
4149  Economy / Economics / Re: Investment amount on: March 16, 2018, 10:43:18 PM
It seems to me that it is optimal to start investing with 3000 thousand dollars. But I started with $ 200))

The amount of money in this market is not so important but it is important that you have enough knowledge to be successful in this market or not. Many people have been very successful in this market with very small investments. I also advise new investors to enter this market should not invest too much at the beginning because you need a lot of experience to be able to succeed in this financial market.

Investing huge amount of money is not the most important thing but understanding the falling and rising of the market is very important. So gathering experience gradually with small amount is supported and advised. $200 is a good start if invested in a worthy coin will grow rapidly.
4150  Economy / Economics / Re: The stock market is a bubble now on: March 16, 2018, 07:33:19 PM
Like bitcoin they are scarce, unlike bitcoin there is guaranteed to always be an increasing demand and for that reason the price is only going to inflate. Then couple that with the fact people know this and are able to exploit it by buying and holding real estate and we have your so called 'bubble'

About the increasing demand for houses, I think bitcoin is also in demand but I don't know about the guarantee for the demand though.

People who have the bitcoin dream also buy and hodl. Some bitcoin investors sell in between for cool profit .
4151  Economy / Economics / Re: Will Bitcoin become a long-term trusted store of value? on: March 16, 2018, 05:36:05 PM
Bitcoin can not be considered as storage of value because its price os too volatile so chance of losing your investment is more if we invest on bitcoin. If that is only possible if the bitcoin has a stable value but I think it will never happen if more people starts using bitcoin its volatility will get increase.

I have the same view that it won't happen with its volatility. For anything to come as a store of value, it must not be changing in value constantly without notice for investors to decide whether to remain in-there, or to ulter their position. For this reason, bitcoin will hardly become a store of value because it never gives notice  Grin before its high fluctuating movement except it is regulated.
4152  Economy / Economics / Re: transition FIAT to DIGITAL? on: March 16, 2018, 03:13:41 PM
Can it really take place?  That we would start having money based on the internet as digital currency....this will be 8 wonders of the world.

The traditional means which is physical financial transactions will always be there because money is a very sensitive aspect of humanity. For digital currency,  any mistake made in terms of codes or other errors as we know it, huge some of money is gone  Roll Eyes and this is not so with fiat.  For fiat, you can even revisit a neighbor to complain of shortage of payment, refund and etc about previous financial transactions.
4153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why things are in this way? on: March 16, 2018, 01:52:28 PM
well sometimes newcomers see something or hear something on the news and that creates these questions in their heads. there are quite a lot of people out there spreading FUD about bitcoin calling it dead, bubble, ... so it is understandable to see topics like that.

but also these topics are sometimes created by spammers as a place where they can spam and get paid by their respective signature campaigns.

if you see one of these overly repeated topics, simply report them as low quality and if they really are, these topics will be removed.

Thank you for your reply. You are right, those people maybe are really newbies that are confused or just spammers.
It looks like I will just have to get used to it.

"It looks like I will just have to get used to it"

You mean getting used to also spamming? Because if you conclude to get use to something, you virtually means you want to start doing what they are doing or you want to keep doing same. Getting use to such is not the right mentality.

Meanwhile, with your activities standing at 112, I believe you should have known about the reason members post in mega thread by now.

Do quality post and don't spam the thread. That will help your account.
4154  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What to buy? on: March 16, 2018, 07:26:08 AM
Lately, I'm beginning to monitor waves. By speculation , I think it is waves time to fly too. It is running some partnership recently. It was on $4 yesterday after market got green, it came to $5 and now trading at $4.96 . Being at 29 spot on cmc is not doing badly. I'm suggesting waves after Btc and etheruem.
4155  Economy / Economics / Re: Alternative investments on: March 15, 2018, 04:36:14 PM
Probably the best investment right now is not to make any investment.

Not to make any investment huh... Thats ludicrous because living your life itself is risk. I mean being alive and not wanting to take any risk, one can die from a collapse building while just deciding to be laying in the house.

Again, if we don't make attempt to grow our money and maybe depend on the stipend from our jobs, we might lose the job someday and won't have anything to relay on. It is always nice to try and grow our finance. It is only an insane human that doesn't do that which is the reason such person that doesn't invest is usually compared to having insanity.
4156  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has the era of speculation gone? on: March 15, 2018, 02:28:56 PM
OP has stated the obvious about the future of blockchain but I'm a bit skeptical about the rationality angle of it. For instance, at the present time, we can not marry rationality and speculation. Speculation itself is subject. The market always proves that when it does a surprise that is contrary to speculation.
4157  Economy / Economics / Re: Why I am quitting ICO's on: March 14, 2018, 07:02:14 PM
What I will definitely avoid is sending my bitcoin to the account. Most times you can't just predict these icos, they make it difficult to buy, either intentionally crashing their sites and never leasing your money in peace.
4158  Economy / Economics / Re: The Bank of Nigeria has a great sense of humor on: March 14, 2018, 03:14:33 PM
Many governments and their banks act like this. They don't give any example to be followed, they don't give any incentive to their citizens, they aren't transparent, but the real danger here is Bitcoin and AltCoins. They are already feeling threatened by Bitcoin and the changes it can promote... That is why they spread these notes.

This is exactly true of most country's Central Bank or financial institutions. It is a protective role they play to wade off financial fraud against their citizens but then, it keeps the fish hearted citizens away from taking up internet business as a serious business where money can be made if one is careful enough not to fall in the hands of the real fraudsters . Such business also includes forex trading on the internet.
4159  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Stay away from lawyers of ICObox! on: March 14, 2018, 02:39:45 PM
They could be lawyers that exist and giving legal advise only through the media and the internet. They only understand the laws of their jurisdictions and won't want to turn down other jobs that come their way. They don't have first hand knowledge of the legal requirements for establishing a company in most countries because jurisdictional requirements are quite different from each other with different agencies involved in the registration procedures.
4160  Other / Meta / Re: Feeling sad on: March 14, 2018, 11:41:51 AM
I just rank up today at 70 activity but still I'm a Junior member because my merits are not enough, so I feel so sad..because honestly I'm having hard time earning it. I don't have much knowledge in bitcoin though I research but not all sink in my mind so its really hard for me to earn merit.. Is there any other way to earn merit except for quality posts? Please excuse my grammar.

Without mincing words, I see we are beginning to see more of spamming this forum with more of merit and no merit discussion. The merit system was for a purpose. It was to especially ensure that some useless, incoherent and destined for the trash bin post don't get anywhere. You only need 5 more to rank up and you are complaining. What about users who have none or need like 100plus and are no doubt making very good and meritable post ? And , yet they don't get to be awarded such.

Please, there are other threads already opened on merit system, kindly use those existing thread to make your contribution next time. Virtually every member rank is feeling what you are complaining about except legendary members that are smiling for now.

My point therefore is, we just do our legitimate due (quality post ) to the forum and allow the mods be the referees.
