4141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What small but promising project have you been following? on: January 29, 2021, 06:45:23 AM
I'm not following any project for the purpose of investment cause there are so many scam altcoin projects and those with reincarnation use cases, which makes it pretty difficult to get a project that's ready to build an ecosystem and deliver on its promises, Ethereum is one altcoin that's doing many things right, but since you're talking about small projects, I'll mention Polkadot, I haven't really done too much research into the coin, neither can I categorically give any Investment advice on it, but I've seen a considerable amount of progress on the polkodot network and I think the devs are putting in an awful amount of effort into developing the coin, I hope it is here for the long term, and not a pump and dump thing.

4143  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: January 27, 2021, 09:12:10 PM
And the game ended 0-0. It ended up different than I expected. I thought Chelsea could win this even they have some difficulty. According to the statistics of the game, it seems Chelsea tried quite hard and Wolves didn't get many chances. However, Wolves succeeded in securing one point.
Chelsea prolly had more possession of the ball, and created quite a few chances, but there was little or no change in their overall play, they still lack that creativity when they are in and around opposition box eighteen, Thomas Tuchel has his work cut out for him, if he must qualify this team for the champions league next season, cause imo, winning the league is more or less improbable looking how far behind they are now.

Having said that, Tuchel really has to bring out the best from the players at his disposal (even in the long run), after spending above 200 million on new recruits just a couple of months ago without any real impact as of yet, I don't think Chelsea will spend so much on player acquisition in the next transfer window.
4144  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] verified Twitter accounts promoting scam pages. on: January 27, 2021, 07:37:12 PM
Verified Twitter accounts do not 'verify' anything, still do not trust, most things posted on social media/pages/handles about crypto, either Investment/ how to make ROI, are mostly scams; hacking verified accounts isn't new, but I'm curious as to whether scammers have found a way get verified Twitter accounts without actually hacking them, is it possible to buy verified Twitter accounts.

Having said all that, users should take responsibility of their funds, so as not to fall for giveaway crypto scams, and tbh, users who prolly fall victims to most crypto scams (giveaway for example) are mostly people who want to get rich quick via the Bitcoin network.
4145  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Virgin on: January 27, 2021, 04:14:11 PM
I doubt that the OP asked an honest question, because if someone gave him a BTC - then it would be logical to explain to him at least some basics, and not to write him a link to some altcoins site on the same paper.
I second that as well, and lately there have been quite a lot of newbies shilling for one project/coin or the other, and this is prolly something of that nature. One wouldn't gift another bitcoin without telling them what they can do with it, how they can spend it and the ways they'll prolly lose it to scammers, the thing is this shills try to mention Bitcoin at the beginning of their shilling post, to glue your attention; before stealthily mentioning their real motive of making the post, we've seen this time and again.
4146  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don’t Panic on: January 26, 2021, 10:28:03 PM
If people got in during a lot more calmer moments, they could have walked out with a lot more money, but people like to get involved when the market is at its highest the most and that makes my head dizzy. Oh bitcoin has been around 10k (around 5-15k range at best) for 3 years? Who cares I am not going to even look at it. Oh bitcoin is at 40k?? I should get a loan and invest into it!!!!!!!
Quite a lot of people only invest when there's fomo, and that's cause they don't believe in the network, neither have they taken out time to research about Bitcoin or a history of it's price movement, they rely only on speculations and media hype, and Bitcoin gets plenty of that during a spike, and thus, those people miss out when the price is pretty low and only ignite their interest when price is at its highest. I would not call such people investors, they are just after the hype and quick profits.
4147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 26, 2021, 09:59:50 PM
This win for Inter Milan is a very decisive one, not just cause they are now the current coppa Italia champions, but this victory is going to give them extra motivation, and boost their title chase in the Italian Seria A, they are just two points behind and they just beat the only team above them, it'll damage AC Milan psychologically and they could lose concentration, whilst Inter goes past them.

The race for the seria A is pretty Interesting this year, it's looking like Juve will finally be dethroned, AC Milan started brilliantly well, but can Inter finish better, I can't wait for the conclusion, though we're still many weeks away, there'll still be quite a lot of twists and turns.
4148  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: January 26, 2021, 09:49:24 PM
Barely 2 hours later, Man city did exactly as I expected them to. It's still the first half but they're ahead of the Baggies. Three goals in the first half is a good start. Maybe we could see over 4.5 goals in this match.
City have done exactly that, as they lead five nil with over 15 minutes left to play, City have completely destroyed West brom, it must be damage limitation tactics for Big Sam's team from now till the end of the game, try and prevent City from scoring more, it's already embarrassing as things stand now, but they have to make sure it doesn't get worse, lol.

Manchester City are really making a strong claim to the title, they are on a run of many straight victories in the EPL now, this should be their sixth straight win, whenever peps on a run, it's usually impossible to stop them, Liverpool have to pick up or fall far behind, for now United looks to be chasing toe to toe, but I don't trust United, they can capitulate at any time.
4149  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what have you learn? what do you need to learn? on: January 26, 2021, 09:14:29 PM
What better thing to learn about cryptocurrency than how to take responsibility of your funds via 'being your own bank' and that I learned on bitcointalk, before this forum or Bitcoin, I've only handled centralized forms of money, but when I started using Bitcoin, I fell for decentralized currencies cause of control, freedom, no form of censoring or manipulations and other whatnots perpetrated by governments, but then there are scams, and that I was able to handle effectively cause I'm a member of this community.

Having said that, in my heart of hearts, I feel somewhat lucky to be a part of this community, i don't personally know how it feels, but I think it'll be incomplete to use Bitcoin without being part of a Bitcoin community, not just any, and definitely not cryptotalk, but btt.
4150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: See why I think etheruem will be bullish on: January 26, 2021, 08:57:00 PM
Ethereum has looked 'bullish' since last year up to this year when it reached it's previous atm, so this info in the op is an extra to the eth network, ethereum is garnering more Investors as the network continues to expand, gas price is definitely an issue that needs to be resolved, but that aside, I don't think there's too much cons in the network; this year (2021) will prolly be a very pivotal one for eth, and if their devs keep working on improving the eth ecosystem, then the price would prolly appreciate above $2000 by the end of the year.
4151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CAN RIPPLE SURVIVE? on: January 26, 2021, 07:18:38 PM
Ripple was doing pretty well before the lawsuit was filed against them, but since then it's been the other way round, Ripple wouldn't prolly bounce back to its previous levels, but I also don't think it'll plunge to zero, but having said all that, what will happen will depend on the verdict of the lawsuit, if it eventually goes in favor of XRP, then I think there's hope for the coin.

Ripple lost quite a lot of Investors, so it's going to take a while before they are able to build that sort of community again, but it is what it is and if the developers are still determined then anything is achievable.
4152  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin security and safety on: January 24, 2021, 09:20:19 PM
There is quite an eays way being able to remember long and complex passwords: Form a very unusual sentence, put  capital letters where they belong and use special characters like ".,!? ...
There is a thread that explicates that properly: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5132378.0, it's somewhat easy to remember a difficult password if you follow the guidelines in this thread.

Having said that, as a crypto user, you're going to have quite a lot of profiles, from emails, to wallets, exchange, btt account, etc, no matter the pattern used in creating the strong password it's going to be almost impossible to remember them all, so it's better to write them down and that's exactly what I do, just as you write down your seed phrase and all, you can do same with passwords of all your accounts and for the accounts you use more often, you could still have their passwords off-hand even after jotting them down, so you could still access them even on the go.
4153  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: January 24, 2021, 07:37:27 PM
Certainly, it is a cup match, no more, no less, but the loss of Liverpool puts additional criticism on Klopp, while the victory of United gives Solskjaer the required confidence, especially since he leads the league so far.
That's the more reason why I expected Liverpool to treat this game more than just a cup match, get out there and get the victory that'll by extension boost their confidence in other competitions, now the run of winless games continues, they are out of the Fa cup, carabao cup and are struggling in the EPL, that's not good for their confidence and it puts pressure on the manager and the team in general.

Having said that, Manchester United are flying at this moment, it's not looking like a fluke any longer, and they could well and truly be in the race for the title, and how interesting it's going to be if it's an all Manchester title race, between City and United.
4154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: January 24, 2021, 06:52:01 AM
Cheltenham of League Two can be really proud of their efforts against Man City tonight. There were 15 minutes away from beating a team worth so much more money with players of much higher standing in the game. I really hope their players are not too sad, they deserve full respect for their performance.
I saw that game, and what a scare it was for City. Cheltenham's captain Ben Tozer put in an unbelievable performance yesterday against pep's men, and he and his team really deserves quite a lot of credit, ultimately the game came down to quality in the final few minutes and we all know the team who has got more of that, Guardiola and his boys match on to the fifth round, still keeping up the unprecedented hopes of a quadruple as they are still alive in all four competitions.
4155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Celebrity Rapper "Soulja Boy" tries to buy XRP on Coinbase, but guess what? on: January 24, 2021, 06:21:20 AM
If Souja Boy prolly didn't know of the lawsuit against XRP and wanted to buy XRP then stumbled upon this issue, he can find out what's wrong without posting it on the internet, that's why this looks like he was trying to promote XRP, or garner some attention to himself, but whichever it is, I don't think it's going to help XRP's case, quite a lot of their investors have dumped the coin, and some exchanges have stopped trading/buying of XRP for now. The only thing that could work in favor of XRP is a positive verdict when the lawsuit is over, but for now, any sort of promotion imo is futile.
4156  Economy / Economics / Re: Florida bank says it has closed Trump's accounts on: January 23, 2021, 08:17:41 PM
Trump is a 'typical' businessman, and he has earned his billions via Fiat, I don't think he'll just all of a sudden grow a thick Interest in cryptocurrencies, enough for him to liquidate his assets into the decentralized system, even if that looks good like a good option atm. Donald Trump's relationship with the banks and quite a lot of sectors in the U.S have definitely seen better days, but that doesn't mean there aren't others that'll still love to be patronized by him.

The news is only big for users of dex cryptocurrencies cause it somewhat pinpoints the aspect of control/freedom of funds Bitcoin guarantees it's users, unlike with the traditional system, as the case of Trump just explicates for all to see.
4157  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: January 23, 2021, 07:37:44 PM
Liverpool is in bad shape right now I think their problem is Thiago in the midfield he only knows how to make tons of worthless passes without assist. But Klopp don't flop in big matches besides Tottenham are also struggling in the attacking department
I wouldn't criticize Thiago Alcantara so soon, he just recently moved to the EPL after a stellar time with German heavyweights Bayern Munich, he'll need time to adapt to the league as well as a new team/coache's strategy and imo, he hasn't been terrible since his move to anfield. Thiago is not the kind of midfielder renowned for assists, there are other things he brings to the game, he controls the midfield beautifully, his short passes creates spaces for others to move forward; I think Liverpool will see him at his best once the whole team starts playing better.

As for their game against Spurs, 'Mou also doesn't flop in big matches', that game has a draw written all over it.
4158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel about altcoin long-term performance? on: January 23, 2021, 07:20:01 PM
but i believe top altcoins such as ethereum is a good coins to hold mate
as we see now, ethereum already break its ATH, and i'm sure other top altcoins will follow to except xrp
+1.
I am not too sure about other top altcoins, but Ethereum for me is doing great in the market, right from last year, it always looked positive to break the ath, which it did this month, Ethereum for me is the coin that makes the difference in the altcoin market, how high can it go by the end of this year? I wouldn't want to speculate, but I don't think the community of eth holders would be too surprised if it goes as high as $2000 and even higher; if you're hodling eth for the long term, I believe in my heart of hearts that you're making the right choice.

But by and large, OP is prolly correct cause majority of altcoins break down in the short term, as a result of either having reincarnated use case, pump and dump or a scam team behind them, that's why it's somewhat good to take your ROI in the short term and pull out before it crashes on you.

I'm glad that my prediction was on point. It's sucks to get no recognition for our predictions here but whatever. As long as I win my bets it's not that important I suppose.
I must admit the bet turned out to be logical afterall, I actually had the feeling Liverpool will come out firing, but I was wrong and you were right, the league is presenting surprises to us every single matchday; whoever is champion at the end of it all, will well and truly deserve it.
I wonder what will Liverpool do against Tottenham next week. Manchester teams get the lead and they have no intention to leave it.
Another must win game for Liverpool, every game for them in the EPL now looks like a must win; it's going to be a tough one, I'm pretty sure Mou will try to frustrate Liverpool by sitting back and waiting for counter attacks, that game could go anyway, but if Liverpool lose, I think they would have to start getting ready to relinquish their title.
