4141  Other / Meta / Re: ACcount was banned for no reasons . on: October 21, 2017, 06:42:03 AM
I   already read  rules here in  forum . There is no law against copying and pasting valuable content.
Wrong! Completely and utterly wrong! Let me bring up the very rule from the unofficial list of official rules:

"33. Posting plagiarized content is not allowed.[e]"

Additionally: "33. This includes both copying parts or the entirety of other users' posts or threads and copying content from external sources (e.g. other websites) and passing it as your own."

src: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0

See? I added the source... Wink
Regardless of this, since when did you need rules to tell yourself that you shouldn't copy & paste? I thought this was a basic principle that most people followed.
4142  Other / Meta / Re: ACcount was banned for no reasons . on: October 21, 2017, 05:32:18 AM
I read the comment that is good so just want to contribute to the article .
So instead of writing in your own words you decided to lazily copy and paste the exact fucking words? You could have (at the very least) linked the original comment and stated that they were not your words.
"Trezor. It's worked really well for me." is a potentially false statement when coming from you.

Since when is copying and pasting elsewhere allowed in a professional environment?

4143  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Bitcoin Doubler shoud i continue ?! on: October 21, 2017, 03:20:28 AM
This belongs in investor-based games, not gambling.
You should also stop (if this story is even true). Ponzis are not a good way to make money and at the end of the day, you're literally just stealing other people's money.

You hope that you're lucky enough not to be the sucker. That's a shitty way to earn money.
4144  Other / Meta / Re: Help! My account is being used by some random foreigner and has been stolen!!! on: October 21, 2017, 01:54:43 AM
I added email notifications for some security events:

Whenever your email is changed (except by an administrator), your old email will get an email about it with a link to lock your account. The link is valid for 14 days.

Let me know if you find any bugs.
4145  Other / Meta / Re: bitcointalk.to = bitcointalk.org ? on: October 20, 2017, 10:06:23 PM
Just wondering why no admin is doing anything about that. This will harm many users and the forum really hard as it looks 1:1 the original forum with all threads and posts.
What, is theymos supposed to baby users into not clicking on suspicious bitcointalk links where the URL doesn't match the original? BCT hyperlinks are green when highlighted. https://bitcointalk.org/
Phishing PM's are dealt with when users report them but there's no way to prevent a user's stupidity from being their downfall. With the new email confirmations, at the very least, phishing will be less impactful, so you could technically state that theymos 'did something about that'.
4146  Other / Meta / Re: IMG tags show as links? on: October 20, 2017, 09:26:13 PM
Newbies cannot post images. You have to be a Jr. Member at the very least to do so. Wait up to 2 weeks and you'll become a Jr. Member given that you've posted properly (14 times in the next activity period and 2 times in the following one).

If you want more information, read the Meta stickies.
4147  Economy / Services / Re: Bitsler Signature & Avatar Campaign (Rates Changed)(up to .0375/week) on: October 20, 2017, 06:07:16 PM
I would like to be part of this signature campaign. Hope i can be accepted.
Unlikely, considering the many applications beforehand that were completely ignored and the fact that on the 6th, Baryom stated "Btw, I won't allow newcomers in this campaign."
Re-assess your reading abilities and perhaps then it'll make sense for you to apply for a signature campaign (never mind this one).

Oh, I meant 8 on 1 and c on 2 but it's fine! I can always enjoy some more silver. Wink

4149  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: what if WRONG scam alert posted here? on: October 20, 2017, 03:41:33 AM
If you voluntarily falsely accuse something of being a scam or someone of being a scammer then the repercussions will simply be reflected on your profile in terms of the negative trust you will likely be given. Then after you are ousted and complain in the reputation section over 5 butthurt threads you will claim to leave the forum only to come back a couple weeks later.

4150  Other / Meta / Re: Account farming. Allowed? on: October 20, 2017, 02:42:55 AM
But can you teach me your methods of looking for farmed accounts? They are starting to invade the signature campaigns and there might be some managers that are tricked in accepting them.
I'm sure you can look through the post history of applicants and see how their posts are mainly in Games & Rounds, Altcoin airdrops, Off-topic or some other trash farm-filled board of the forum.

rizzlarolla used to check alphabetical naming and the close proximity of uids, but there's not really much point in doing that anymore. Even now, if you just look through 2 (most likely just one) pages of a person's post history then you'll know whether the account is farmed or not. But usually in that case, the campaign managers would probably outright decline the participants (if they're any good).
4151  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bitsler.com does not allow withdraw profit from faucet (?) on: October 20, 2017, 02:33:42 AM
I see.
How about the following setting then:
One plays with the faucet and wins 0.003BTC, after that deposits an additional 0.003BTC, and places another bet for 0.006BTC.
If the last bet is successful, is the player allowed to withdraw ?
I'm not exactly sure about this one. The rules state: "Getting an edge against the casino without any risks is FORBIDDEN. (e.g [...] winning from faucet then depositing to withdraw all the balance etc.) Only for earnings from faucets, we reserve the right not to authorize withdrawals."

Placing another bet at .006 most certainly has some risk associated to it but it's (almost) no different than just withdrawing the .003 BTC since the ev would still be +.00297 BTC for the player.
4152  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bitsler.com does not allow withdraw profit from faucet (?) on: October 20, 2017, 12:47:11 AM
I guess I missed point 14.4.
Let me try to understand.
Say one opens an account, deposits 0.001BTC, loses that amount, then continues to play using the faucet and wins 0.003BTC.
Is the player allowed to withdraw the 0.003BTC or not?
No. The faucet balance was independent of the deposit. Hence the terms are violated because the house edge of the deposit was not any part of the faucet-based wagering. The same happens if you wager using the faucet, win x BTC and then deposit and withdraw. You 'had an edge'.
4153  Other / Meta / Re: THE NEW BANHAMMER MODERATOR on: October 20, 2017, 12:37:53 AM
BITCOINTALK IS BEING AN ASS GREAT RIGHT NOW... WHAT THE FUCK IS UNSUBSTANTIAL POST ? DO YOU NEED 100 WORDS EVERYTIME WE POST ? KEEP DELETING POST AND BANNING PEOPLE UNTIL YOU LOSE EVERYONE THAT SPAMS.. GOODBYE

FTFY.
4154  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bitsler.com does not allow withdraw profit from faucet (?) on: October 19, 2017, 11:40:39 PM
I guess bitsler has some policy that one is not allowed to profit from the faucet ?
If so, bitsler should state clearly the rules of using the faucet.
14.4. Getting an edge against the casino without any risks is FORBIDDEN. (e.g playing with faucet, winning from faucet then depositing to withdraw all the balance etc.) Only for earnings from faucets, we reserve the right not to authorize withdrawals.

via Bitsler T&C.

Don't shoot the messenger!

4156  Other / Meta / Re: Why do these HUGE threads just remain there ? on: October 19, 2017, 04:10:31 AM
That is Why We Have Report to Moderator. If you Think that a Person is Spamming then Do it.
At any moment when you report a single post to a moderator (and undergo the horrendous loading time for it to process) then once you are finished with that one, at least three more spam posts will have appeared on the forum. How many reports have you filed out? The issue is in the fact that most don't care enough to report every single spam post they see, purely because of quantity. I can't be bothered to go to trashy threads and click "Report to moderator" on all of the 70+ replies.
4157  Other / Meta / Re: Why do these HUGE threads just remain there ? on: October 19, 2017, 02:54:27 AM
Better solution would be disabling signatures for ranks below senior member rank. If you want to earn money spend half year here first
And on that day, the account sellers bellowed and guffawed at the forum, brushing their teeth with golden toothbrushes.

Signature campaigns shouldn't have such a huge effect on the forum that it destroys signatures for members under Sr. Member status. I don't think any other forums suffer from this problem (though I'm unsure about the traffic on this vs. others) of signature campaigns.
My proposition of trashing the thread would only work if we had stiff moderation policies that were consistent on eliminating all repeat threads. In this case, subsequent threads would also be trashed and spammers will get the picture (or create Meta threads in which there's going to be one reply by a mod).
As for the stats you've brought up, then let us consider this: trashing megathreads will disincentivize people from cluttering up threads and dragging it out to eternity, where they will get a hit to their post count (and perhaps activity).

Maybe a better solution is to permanently decrease activity for every post one has in the spam megathreads.
4158  Other / Meta / Re: Why do these HUGE threads just remain there ? on: October 18, 2017, 07:30:07 PM
If not this huge threads then you will just see a lot of new threads with stupid questions.
That's a fucking stupid justification for keeping spam megathreads alive. Neither threads with repetitious/stupid questions nor threads with 20+ pages of replies should be allowed. If we were just able to eliminate the appearance of spam-based threads altogether (to encourage the use of the very important search feature) then the forum would be way cleaner.
I personally believe that it would be better for the forum to completely trash the spam megathreads so that spammers can see a post (and potentially activity) decline in their accounts.
4159  Other / Meta / Re: My account has been blocked. Lol3c on: October 18, 2017, 07:23:19 PM
Who should I contact about this issue?

PS: I am learning how to sign my message with ethereum wallet. Hope that It will work since I have joint a few ethereum campaign
If you can sign a message with the Ethereum address confirming ownership of the account as well as link the original reply of which the address was posted by your account, then you can message Cyrus or theymos with the appropriate details and hopefully they'll accept it in a timely fashion.
4160  Economy / Gambling / Re: BetKing.io - faucet - 25% rakeback. BTC, ETH, LTC DICE on: October 18, 2017, 03:00:32 AM
BetKing.io offline for anyone else? Got the CloudFlare 502: Bad gateway error showing that the host is offline. isup.me still shows that the website is online, but I think it's because it detects the cloudflare webpage?
Down for me.

Sorry if this has been asked already, but when will you be starting buybacks and how will it work?
Dean stated that buybacks would begin on December 4th and that you would need to have 10x the amount that you wanted to sell back to BetKing in your account before the date. I'm not sure about the specific time but I would do it December 2nd UTC time just as a precaution (until any specifics are posted)
