4161  Other / Meta / Re: Any advice on how I can earn merit? on: April 14, 2018, 11:51:50 AM
Some one would say that high quality posts will get merit, but i think its just a joke, how many time will one user spend to make a high quality post? and how many people will give smerit to other posts? and how many merits do we need to get a rank rise? Who can tell me?

The forum stickies, and the myriad of merit threads can tell you if you read them.

That's an interesting new concept you have there Jet Cash. Reading the information in front of you might be a revolution in information processing that could change the world for the better.  Wink
4162  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: April 14, 2018, 11:48:03 AM
Nope, that is not what I meant. For last time before this redemption are they got those items for good? May be you are not the mod yet, but i do hope you can really update on this redemption and hope wetsuit will be back soon to process this thing as fast as possible to prove that their redemption is for real

I'm not really sure what you mean but the redemptions are real. We process many of them every week and if they were not real then this thread would be full of people complaining. You can see how quickly people sign up to the forum when their rewards are cut, I'm sure you can imagine how quick they would be if an iPhone didn't turn up.
4163  Other / Meta / Re: Theymos, why are you hoarding your sMerit? on: April 14, 2018, 10:16:56 AM
Hmm, I tested my account but the calculations are not correct,
http://dev.martinlawrence.ca/bpip/profile.aspx?p=iasenko

It says that I have at least 36 smerit but I actually have only 21.

I'll upload a screenshot for proof when I get to my PC Smiley

It looks like your numbers might be a bit out of date.

4164  Other / Meta / Re: Theymos, why are you hoarding your sMerit? on: April 14, 2018, 09:14:44 AM
Is he really hoarding it? I don't think so or maybe got no time for giving that much of sMerit to those who deserve it, after all he's still a forum member(admin) that's capable of receiving merits and we can't do anything about it  Embarrassed.

I agree.  I have to struggle to spend more merit than I take in.   It's not that there is no worthy content, it's just I am busy, and being fair in rewarding merit takes time and resources.  :/

I am going to have to increase my merit amount per submission.  Inflation I guess.  Smiley

I've read a number of Merit sources saying they can't find enough good posts to Merit. I think a combination of the existing Merit sources giving more Merit per post and increasing the number of Merit sources with less to give out each would be a good approach to take.
4165  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: April 14, 2018, 05:46:09 AM
i thinking about producing and releasing at some point ......how they can cheat even using provably fair system

Also coming soon, how black is actually white.

if you look carefully the bets/results patterns (no matter the strategy), it becomes quite obvious to a analytical mind what is happening behind the cenes.

It is a very common phenomenon for people to delude themselves that they see patterns in random things. It is part of human psychology to find repeating patterns to understand things and when no pattern exists the human brain invents one. It is very similar to gambler's fallacy.

for now, if you are not doing this just for fun/rush, i strongly recommend anyone to stay away from multiply.
and based on the general picture i got, i even doubt that lottery works, in other words, if you care, don't waste on them either...

Most people are capable of gambling responsibly for fun. They enjoy it when they win and can deal with it when they lose. A small number of people are problem gamblers, they bet too much and cannot deal with it emotionally when they lose. Often these people also cannot take responsibility for their own actions and have to find someone else to blame. Making unfounded slanderous scam accusations against the gambling site is often a get out used to avoid dealing with the real problem they have.

I strongly recommend you stay away from gambling and don't project your deficiencies on everyone else.
4166  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: April 14, 2018, 05:31:02 AM
The new change to the weekly withdrawal fee is a good one. I don't think 40 satoshis is much out of 30,000, so imo that solves the problem of what goes up, not coming back down, as was the case earlier.

But I think you guys have had long enough to fix whatever the bot problem was that led to half rewards. It's bad enough trying to get up to the minimum withdrawal amount (which has NOT gone down as the BTC has gone up) with the standard reward, which at the current price is around 25 satoshi.

We fixed the bot problem by halving rewards for accounts that don't meet minimum gambling and/or balance requirements. Now it is no longer profitable to run a botnet.

The reward levels are all fixed against the USD from the $200 top reward down.

Game on! Some of my previous 20 posts are in local boards (Philippines) and maybe 2-3 in bounties. You can disregard those if you want
If you're Filipino, you apparently speak English very well.  I give you props for that, though I currently have no merit to give.  Maybe actmyname will find something interesting in your post history to merit.  Almost makes me not give up hope for the Philippines.  Tell me you're not an ex-pat living there.

Also:  actmyname, with this post I am done cocking up your thread here.  Sorry about that.

Actually, he's posting on the Indonesian board and the English posts like that one are copy-pastes from earlier in the thread.

I already hit report to moderator on that one.

I just want to know if the good deliver it well or not since last time someone already claimed it but no updates on him. And now second person claimed it now so I hope they can get the goods well. And I wouls think to get the items of course. I am waiting to get that iphone but still long way to go. Btw are you going to change the redeem prize or it will just stay that way?

Wetsuit is away travelling at the moment and he expects to catch up with processing the redemptions in a couple of days time.

I'm not sure how the prices work on that, I'll ask next time I hear from him.
4169  Other / Meta / Re: Stake your Bitcoin address here on: April 13, 2018, 01:04:31 PM
Here is the correct formatting

Adding an extra line between the address an the signature does not make the formatting incorrect. Adding newlines and spaces to the message does however cause problems.

It used to be common practice in this thread to use code boxes to separate the items and make the boundaries clearer and keep messages to a simple one line.

Example

Message :
Code:
Today is the 13th of April 2018 and I am MyName (u=xxxxxx) staking my address on bitcointalk

Address :
Code:
12345xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Signature :
Code:

I would like to see an update to this chart: https://www.tradingview.com/x/PjYa65fU/

It's not obvious to me (because another three weeks have passed since he posted that) whether we failed the mid-line or not. But I take Masterluc's words (and the strong bounce off the 1-week 50MA) to mean that we are bullish for the foreseeable future.

I had a go at drawing the same lines on the same weekly log scale chart.

Disclaimer: I'm not entirely sure it means anything.

I tried using the mining link with my own user ID but it doesn't seen to be working.  Are there plans to put the link back into the site?  Or is it there but I'm not seeing it?  Thanks.

I just tried it my user and it works fine.

mining.freebitco.in/mining.html?userid=

What happens when you try it?

There are no plans to put it back as it isn't something we're actively promoting anymore, but we left it available for everyone that is already using it.

Sorry - theQuin, because I'm a new user of this forum, it wouldn't allow me to post back straightaway and for some reason, when it did allow me, my post isn't appearing.  It is working now (just needed refreshing) and you've just answered my other question - thanks.

No problem. As your activity number increases the wait times reduce dramatically.

Thank you,
will try to find the issue and fix it, anyway I'm using blockchain.info v.2. If you have any suggestion, pls help let me know.

I would always recommend running your own wallet and Electrum as being the most convenient to use.

Always use the genuine site:
https://electrum.org/#download

Available for Linux, Windows, OSX and Android.

Seriously? Dude. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178336.msg34534874#msg34534874  This is quality post that cost couple of merites? That's what i am talking about, we have totally different understanding of what does it mean "quality post".

That's excellent. It would be a very dull world if we all liked the same things. That wall observer thread has its own little community happily talking away about which way they think the price of Bitcoin is going. I'm happy if they share merits for posts they like because they're using the forum to discuss things rather than just posting something nobody is ever going to read to meet their signature campaign's required posts (that thread has signatures disabled).
4176  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: April 12, 2018, 02:07:24 PM
Those accounts are literary high knowledge in crypto currencies, aside on that maybe they growth in digitalization why they have high understanding  regarding bitcoin and other crypto currencies. Sometimes when I see nullius accounts i was thinking that it is real that he is a newly participants or it was a sub account of one higher rank in bitcointalk. Maybe they born with high intelligence gift that's why they can easily go with the flow in this sites

It's a Bitcoin forum so it is natural that people with knowledge will write more informative posts and get more merit. Isn't that how it should be?
4177  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: April 12, 2018, 01:52:37 PM
And you have one more merit from me for getting into all this trouble to find people who had success with this system! lol
The second guy though is registered from a year ago and the last one is registered since 2013, so ofcourse they had free merits and that's why they stand high on points. Nevertheless, you beat my argument that there's probably not even one member who's close to the speed at which members used to obtain ranks before.

For the record, I still believe it's an unfair system and it could become better if the thresholds were lowered, but that's my opinion so call me spoiled and ignore me (Not addressing a specific member)! Grin

Thanks. Yeah, I know nullius is a bit special but the last guy must have started with no more than 100.

There's a full list compiled by LoyceV weekly (last one 2 days ago).

Have a look at that list as you'll be surprised how many people are getting Merit faster than 1 day. That's roughly what they need to rank up at the same pace as before.

I think the balance is right and most importantly fits with what was written in the OP of this thread.

I'm hoping that this system will increase post quality by:
 - Forcing people to post high-quality stuff in order to rank up. If you just post garbage, you will never get even 1 merit point, and you will therefore never be able to put links in your signature, etc.
 - Highlighting good posts with the "Merited by" line.

It's doing what it was meant to.

4178  Economy / Speculation / Re: Quote me on that - It has started. on: April 12, 2018, 01:24:44 PM
That looks like some big money suddenly bought. It takes quite a few million to move the price up that sharply.

Now that is analysis of something important. The volume on that move is significant and also the fact they didn't bide their time and just slowly accumulate a position. That would have been easy to do as the market has been going sideways for days on end, but they didn't want to wait were happy to spike the price.

If we fall back to 6k, this will prove the double bottom theory is completely useless.

TA is useless.

4179  Economy / Speculation / Re: Quote me on that - It has started. on: April 12, 2018, 12:54:54 PM
Its not a full candle. We need to stay there at least for one day.

If you hadn't guessed I don't take that sort of TA seriously. What matters is if the shorts start panicking and buying to cover. That's about human emotion not what time you arbitrarily cut off a candle.

Here are 2 full candles above 8k for you.

4180  Economy / Speculation / Re: Quote me on that - It has started. on: April 12, 2018, 12:47:09 PM
We need to reach 8k first to confirm the double bottom.

Last time it didnt reach 8k and we had a bull trap.

I don't think 8k has any significance but if it makes you happy we did briefly go through it.
