4162  Economy / Services / Re: Bitcoin Camming Site on: May 15, 2012, 08:36:02 PM
A man's praise in his own mouth stinks. Wink

Yes, it was interesting to know how he does it. He streamed snippets of video of a barely moving sleepy girl and had some snippets available to switch to (smile, nod, ...) at a click. He has trouble with sound as that would be harder to loop and he's a he so dubbing his own videos would not be easy.

Taken it's a lot of preparation and requires the guy sitting by makes me believe him when he says it's just for fun.

Only thing that annoys me about this is that I tipped him (I tipped all girls to get their interest although my video is totally broken and I was more fascinated by the site than the girl but I want to see this project take off)

It's not hard to do.  I used to do that shit on ChatRoulette a while back... Here's how:

Check his post history.  It's all Marketplace->Goods and Lending... Lots of prepaid cards and codes.  You should have done your research before just giving your coins out willy nilly.

Wait... we're supposed to use thermal compound?!?
4165  Economy / Lending / Re: Bitcoin Savings and Trust is probably a Ponzi Scheme: A Petition on: May 15, 2012, 03:22:39 AM
When you think about it, bitcoins are the perfect instrument for ponzi schemes in a way... with sufficient anonymity, the perpetrator can actually enjoy their winnings on a beach in Jamaica when it all falls apart.

Not in this case.  He's far from anonymous.  But then again, neither was Madoff.
4166  Economy / Goods / Re: WTS anything on NEWEGG for BTC on: May 14, 2012, 04:51:38 AM
@starsoccer9: Gonna be a hard sell since the last wave of scammers using stolen CC#s and offering to buy anything for BTC (not on this forum).  Your best bet is to get the items delivered to your door first, then ship them yourself to the buyer.
4167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When do the block rewards half for i0coin and Ixcoin? on: May 13, 2012, 08:19:18 PM
Need I remind you they are dead?

669GH/s? Far from dead if you ask me.

I was kind of shocked when I looked at the current Ix/I0 prices and saw they're getting really close to the going LTC price.
4168  Economy / Trading Discussion / Is Vircurex down? on: May 13, 2012, 06:44:39 PM
The site keeps timing out for me.  Dammit, I wanted to pick up a few thousand IXC/I0C before they got retardedly expensive.

lol I saw this one coming since last week.  I was about to post in his other thread "ib100btcloanrequest"  Cheesy
4171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Did anybody ever figure out who MrMoon was? on: May 11, 2012, 10:57:48 PM
Did anybody ever figure out who was behind Mooncoin (I think that was the name of the site)?  It was a pretty slick betting site/exchange but he ended up swindling a lot of people IIRC.
4172  Economy / Lending / Re: [FULFILLED!] 10,000 BTC loan - LONG TERM on: May 11, 2012, 10:31:56 PM
Just wanted to drop a line to everyone following this loan with curiosity.

The first payment was made last week.  We actually changed the terms to monthly payments, at the request of the lender.

Also, the principal amount was bumped to 11,000 BTC.

Just FYI.  I am absolutely stoked by the implications of large BTC lending like this.

4174  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [208 Gh] MtRed (PPS, LP+, API **0 FEEs**) Merged Mining Temporarily Disabled on: May 10, 2012, 06:21:26 PM
I couldn't find it at first.  Cheesy

Some news: I'm looking at a new new host. Already looking better than the last, will put up a mining node and let ppl start mining on it soon.

I've also been working on MM over the 24 hours. I'm running some tests, and I't appears to be sending and receiving work properly, but will let my miner churn on it all night to maybe catch a seg.

That's it for now,
RR

That's about the only thing holding me back from mining with MtRed 24/7.
4175  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Undervolting 5xxx's below 0,95v on: May 10, 2012, 06:16:01 PM
What if BTC exchange rate doubled when the block reward drops? Nothing happened?

That would be sweet, but I try not to make mining assumptions based on wishful thinking. Tbh my pessimistic projection for next year is an average difficulty of 1560000 (10% lower than current) and an average exchnage rate of 6$. The only function of these numbers to me is that I need every single piece of hardware I mine to be profitable at those conditions, or it gets unplugged and sold at some point.

It's not wishful thinking.  Just look what happened to the exchange rates for Solidcoin and Ixcoin when the block reward diminished.  Turns out alt chains are actually useful in this case since they give us a glimpse of what could happen when Bitcoin block reward halves.
4176  Economy / Lending / Re: Bitcoin Savings and Trust is probably a Ponzi Scheme: A Petition on: May 10, 2012, 05:30:29 PM
Well, I'm sure we've all made mistakes in the past.  I'm the first one to call someone out for being a scammer (check the Lending section if you don't believe me lol), but Pirateat40 seems to be legit IMHO.
4177  Economy / Lending / Re: Bitcoin Savings and Trust is probably a Ponzi Scheme: A Petition on: May 10, 2012, 04:57:37 PM
Takes about 5 mins to get his real name. It isn't Don Shrents, which does looks like an anagram.

edit:

wtf is this though. you need to know the name to look up

What does O/20 U/500 mean?
4178  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MtGox Collapsing (and taking bitcoin down with them?) on: May 10, 2012, 04:23:27 PM
WAT? MtGox collapse and forces people to use Bitcoin as an actual currency?!?  PERISH THE THOUGHT!
4179  Economy / Lending / Re: Bitcoin Savings and Trust is probably a Ponzi Scheme: A Petition on: May 10, 2012, 04:17:12 PM
I just spent two hours searching the internet trying to figure out his identity.    The best thing I came up with is an IP address from an old bitcoin-otc chat log, and a picture which I don't know if it is real (do a google img search if you want to see it).  People say it is easy to find out his identity, but don't share or tell us how.  What is his identity?

His info listed on his domain registration has been confirmed to be correct.
It took you 2 hours to type "whois gpumax.com" ?

I'm not using whois.  But "Don Shrents" is a sort of anagram (I think that's the word anyway) for his actual name.  The point is, it's not like he's making a huge effort to hide his identity or anything.
