4161  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Recommend me a Bitcoin Miner. on: January 14, 2017, 02:27:36 PM
Without an exact amount it's still difficult to recommend a miner. A6 and S7 could work well for you, not too expensive and doesn't break as much as S9s.
4162  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Can I find 1 BTC? on: January 14, 2017, 12:35:03 PM
Can I find 1 BTC? Which device I need to buy for this. And how long can I find 1 BTC out.
I know we need to invest a lot in mining. But I want to know what to do for 1 BTC.
You can get 1BTC with virtually any bitcoin mining ASIC, but 1BTC in profit is another thing. first we need to know your electrical rate, if it's above .1$/kwh bitcoin mining will be very difficult to accomplish. On the other hand, if it's near 0.02 or something lower then you can make a lot more profit; as of now, if your electrical cost is between those two rates, try considering the A721 from Avalon or the Bitmain Antminer S9.
4163  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitminter bitcoin mining pool - Pays TxFees, Merged Mining, Fair PPLNS rewards on: January 13, 2017, 11:37:25 PM
I just wish there were a few more of them but the hashrate just isn't big enough. Still I hold out hope that they are at least in the green or black these days.
The fact that they're even finding blocks is pretty encouraging; these kinds of pools haven't died yet and probably won't die for quite some time. I still support them with a bit of hashrate every now and then as they're one of the original and clean pools. I still have memories of using U1 and U2 miners on the pool and getting some nice btc from em as the GUI was very easy to use.
4164  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: metrobitcoinminer.com selling Antminer U3, is it legit? on: January 12, 2017, 07:25:45 PM
Five for one is pretty fishy... you probably just got scammed. People just don't sell new miners for that cheap. I wouldn't even consider buying anything from them.

Are you saying that I should not trust Paypal's buyer protections?

Maybe the hardest part now is to wait for six weeks and then file a case.
Still, you could be waiting a few weeks just for nothing. There's a reason people aren't buying hundreds of these miners for cheap. Even if you get anything it'll probably just be one poorly packed U3. I don't even see used U3s going for 50$ each these days.
4165  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: metrobitcoinminer.com selling Antminer U3, is it legit? on: January 12, 2017, 02:06:06 PM
I bought the minimum amount of U3, which is 10 pieces. Five bucks for one, for a total of fifty will not crash the bank, but it's not a negligible amount either.

I thought I created an account onto the site while checking out, but it doesn't recognize my login details, and the only email I have received is from Paypal. I'll see what happens. But since I went through Paypal checkout, I think I am somehow under their protection.

I took the free shipping, which will take from 4 to 5 weeks.

Will keep everyone updated.

4166  Economy / Goods / Re: Black Friday Deals - Shopawl.com on: January 11, 2017, 10:52:59 PM
My order from then arrive but not complet!
Still missing a lot of items and i have not receive an answer from your support on site.

What is wrong,i need an answer. Angry
Probably the seller's fault and not theirs. Chinese companies use shit shipping methods, and it can take up to two months for some things to arrive. Have patience and you'll get your items- there's a reason not too many people buy direct. Just be glad there's a service like this at all- not very many like it are available today, and the ones that exist are shit, i.e all4btc.

Some packages are also lost in customs and shipping, try tracking them and if they aren't there then contact shopawl and ask them to start a dispute.
4167  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB] Rockminer/BFL USB miners, no blck erupter on: January 11, 2017, 09:59:23 PM
Not looking for anything too big, just the classic USB miners that don't use over 100w of power, something like a BFL Jalapeno or even a Rockminer 32-37GH/S miner. I haven't seen any big stick miner sales besides Sidehack's recently so I made this thread.
Just note I am not looking for Bitfury, Block Erupter, or Gekko sticks for now, with the exception of the bi-fury miner (twin fury, whatever you call it) that I don't think I'll find elsewhere, or the hex-fury. I'm looking for these miners over anything; I can't seem to find any, especially the hex fury. I'll buy Antminer U2 sticks but no U1.

Feel free to PM me your offers. I'll pay for shipping and escrow. If topic is locked then I am no longer looking for these miners.
4168  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Spondoolies SP20 PSU Help!!! on: January 11, 2017, 09:44:55 PM
If sound is not an issue get a server breakout board and a server psu. At such a high wattage consumer psus aren't viable because of their price anymore and you'll have to look at real expensive psus for full power. I'd personally go with a DPS800 or 1200 breakout and an HP power supply as the Sp20 doesn't run near rated speed 3/4 of the time- that'll cut costs down below 100 and you'll just need 6pin connectors and you're good to go. Just make sure you get 14AWG cables and not anything above 18AWG.
4169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can I use solar pannels as electricity source for mining? on: January 11, 2017, 12:50:22 AM
You sure can, just be aware you will need a big initial investment and there is is a chance you won't make your money back; solar panels often only perform as they are rated under very intense sunlight and this can vary based on your location. Honestly I'd just skip the hassle and mine from the grid, and if you can't do that because of cost, mining probably isn't for you.
4170  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is it safe to join hashflare.io ? on: January 10, 2017, 09:50:22 PM
I've been with em for about a year now and nothing too serious has happened, so far they're like eobot where they haven't shown any signs of taking our money and running yet but this could happen at any time. Their support is up and running and they're actively answering questions so there is at least a little bit of dedication to the site as of now. Of course this could change at any point in time; if you value your money, do not invest too much into cloud mining schemes.
4171  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Selling SHA-256 on: January 10, 2017, 09:37:16 PM
If it helps with pricing, I recently bought 0.88TH from another bitcointalk user for 30USD. I think it's a little high personally but good luck with sales Smiley even if price doesn't change I'm sure it'll sell soon.
4172  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Wow Mining Bitcoin whit a Isolinear chip !! on: January 10, 2017, 09:12:39 PM
Not sure whether this belongs in off-topic or mining discussion; memory doesn't hash anything at all, so unless you're referring to an HDD-coin, nothing even close to 1kh/s.
4173  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: metrobitcoinminer.com selling Antminer U3, is it legit? on: January 10, 2017, 01:06:34 AM
Rule of thumb: if it's new and below retail price on other sites, chances are it's a scam. The site even sells Prospero and other miners for almost 50% off what others sell used, chances are it is a scam.

You can barely get a used antminer u3 for 50 bucks even on the forum. New ones are selling for upwards of 100 on other sites; I'd suggest you just go with an undervolted S1.
4174  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: hardware requirement for mining on: January 10, 2017, 12:30:51 AM
For 6 GPUs You need special motherboard with 6 PCIe slots (like ASRock H81 Pro BTC), Celeron dual core processor G1840, 4GB RAM, used hard disc 100GB with Windows or Linux installed, single or double power supply min. 1000W. You need 1-6 GPUs (Radeon R9 series or RX series)... There is lot of electrical power (about 1200W for 6 GPUs) needed and heat produced.
Yep, too bad that such a big setup won't even compare to a 50-dollar Antminer S3. With Ether or XMR that'd do just fine, but computers nowadays are far worse than ASICs in SHA256 and X11-16. You don't need a hard disc at all as you can boot off of a usb- not difficult and shaves off a few dollars at the minimum. Linux is better for miners generally but it's up to you.
4175  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is a $0,032/kWh electricity good for mining ? on: January 09, 2017, 12:08:46 PM
Thank you for your answer,
$420 for all the setup is just impossible in my case Sad just the shipping price will cost me like $100...
But why would you want to break in less than 6 months? I have read that the Antiminer S7 have 5 years lifetime, is this true or just bullshit? also I wanted to know what is the importance of the batch number when buying a miner.

I must confess that i haven't mined in a long time (my electricity rate is really, really, high, so i turned off my gear a long time ago), so i don't have any S7's... But from what i've read over time, is that the S7 is a more reliable than the S9, but not as reliable as some other models/brands. That being said, i would always want to break even in 6 months because:

  • there is always a chance the gear will break, and since bitmain only offers 90 days guarantee, you'll never see your investment again
  • the price fluctuates
  • the diff fluctuates
  • your luck might fluctuate
  • the blocks will halve from BTC12.5 to BTC6.25 in 2020

All these factors, coupled with the fact that i'm not a risk takes, would result in a maximum of $420 if i would be in your case. Offcourse, if you're willing to take a risk, you could potentially go for longer break even period...

The batches are important because bitmain tends to have significant differences between batches... Speed, power consumption, lifetime might vary greatly between two batches.
The S7 is a great way to go with such cheap electricity. Generally all S7 batches work well unlike the S9's where you generally don't want auto tune, which was added in the later batches.

Of course you will also need to dust and check on the miner every once in a while and do basic maintenance, but generally the S7's are nice and durable and don't break as much as S9s.
4176  Economy / Digital goods / Re: 💳 Virtual VISA Card ✅ 0.50$ 🚀 Instant delivery 🅿️ PayPal-ready on: January 09, 2017, 12:08:31 AM
Well I got what I wanted in the end- I had just enough for some windows tablet pc on aliexpress and I saw no other quicker way I was going to get my money back so I bought it. Pretty bad site and support but I guess that's to be expected from such services.

Card does not work on eBay, Amazon, or pretty much any major retailer. Definitely won't be using this one anytime soon.
Most virtual bitcoin debit cards do not support 3-D Secure which sadly is a requirement in many of those websites. The sollution is to use the card through a payment processor like paypal and search for websites that accept card payments through it. In Aliexpress' case it's AliPay.
Yup, sadly there's really no way to buy from big sites without directly having an account. I'm sure people will be able to find uses for these kinds of cards but they aren't what I was really looking for.
4177  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: My friend and I are thinking of mining Bitcoins.... on: January 09, 2017, 12:06:23 AM
I'd like to hear peoples opinions about pool mining vs solo mining  for someone starting out with a few miners.
I'm sure someone has done the math and can post expected time to hit a block solo vs your average earnings when using a pool.
Is it even worth mining solo these days unless you have a ton of hash power?

As far as I know pool mining used to be more profitable in the past and it still it. More hash in a pool = more chances of finding a block = more cash for everyone, but I remember there were some people who found blocks with their USB miners, so you can always solo mine if you're feeling lucky.
Yeah, in the far past. I remember just a while ago someone hit a block with an S3 or S5. Mining was more or less just as profitable as it is today, nothing has really changed except for difficulty and price as new miners came out and things happened.

4179  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How was your luck in 2016.? on: January 07, 2017, 11:00:51 PM
My luck was pretty average; I won what I usually win and I didn't lose too much. Nothing to write home about. I made around 0.25 BTC gambling in different casinos and cashed it out before I could gamble more of it; I stop pretty early in terms of gambling.
4180  Economy / Digital goods / Re: NEW Bitsler.com Script Bot (10.0) 1 BTC in one day 2017 on: January 07, 2017, 10:59:21 PM
I found this one through extensive research i used it makes me 0.8 BTC it may not be 1btc but it does the job thats like $500 i think. This scripts automatically stops working after you make 0.8btc profit. It has that added feature. Try it or not up to you doesnt make a difference to me. Heres link I got straight from owner. https://satoshibox.com/icctcy4h6tmh8j5icc86spge

Be careful when you pay/download this.

Here is the original creator's post with a free download .
http://bitcoinblackhat.com/showthread.php?tid=3461

Even so, I wouldn't download this script as there could be something inside of it that might take your btc or something like that. Never install a script unless you yourself built it and you know what will happen.
