4161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the way forward now. on: February 08, 2021, 08:58:33 AM
There is a saying that two heads are better than one, guys I need good advice from all of you, now that nigeria government have put ban on crypto, can't trade my bitcoin to naira and send to my bank account is there any other ways to go around this? Are there decentralized exchanges that can or could allow fiat deposits to bank? There should be a solution to this problem, pls share
Really hard to give you advise as your government seems to put a blanket ban on all crypto related.

In any case though here are two p2p exchanges,

[1] https://hodlhodl.com/
[2] https://bisq.network/

And that is the only way around, or perhaps a face to face exchange with your local but I don't know how risky it is in Nigeria.
4162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs. Avni Yildirim - February 27 on: February 07, 2021, 11:05:15 AM
But if you are aiming for the huge price and deal with risks then go bet on Avni so that your betting will be much worth it, we don't know what if Avni wins. Avni's long rest or break in boxing world will really become a huge factor in this match up, while Canelo is being consistent with his career and he is really focus in defeating his future opponents.
Canelo Alvarez fights at a different level altogether and i wont risk a penny to bet in the match against Canelo Alvarez, i am yet to watch the fights of Avni Yildirim to see how he fights and how he will counter the heavy punches to understand how long he can last so that i can predict how many rounds he can face Canelo Alvarez Cheesy.

My prediction is Canelo Alvarez and i need to do some research before placing the final bet.

Canelo Alvarez here by a knock-out, similar to Amir Khan. Probably 6-7 max rounds before Canelo hit that home run and Avni Yildirim. It will be competitive though, Alvarez will go for the body early and then unexpectedly hit that knock out punch.

It was a mismatch by all means, so Amir Khan is asking for a knock out when he fought Canelo back then, plus he has a china chin, that when someone touches, it's easily broken.

In case of Yildirim, probably Canelo will go for a knock out if he think Yildirim is shielding himself. And we don't know how Yildirim chin as well, if he is tough as nail then the fight can go to distance. But if Canelo is in a target practice the night might end early with a knockout by Alvarez.

I'm hoping and expecting the same, Canelo needs to level up and go for a KO, the last fight was a unanimous win by him, not too exciting so he needs to come back so people will be more interested on his next fight. I also hope that he will continue to be in shape, he is good, no doubt about that he should not be careless.

Canelo is now on his top and this is his peak prime years in boxing. So for sure he will be in top shape for the next 2-3 years before we see him somewhat decline. And this is the main reason why he wanted to remain at 168 lbs because he doesn't want to go up in weight anymore.

So he is not going to be careless on the contrary, will use his boxing IQ. If the knock out is not there he will not push for it.
4163  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Visa - Did you all miss this? on: February 07, 2021, 09:42:34 AM
I can't believe nobody has posted about this, Visa's head of crypto

"We see crypto assets as more like digital gold"

https://www.forbes.com/sites/billybambrough/2021/02/03/visa-reveals-bitcoin-and-crypto-banking-roadmap-amid-race-to-reach-network-of-70-million/
Seen this news few days ago, and I don't think that it was miss, perhaps not a big news for us since we all know that Visa as of late has been very positive about crypto market since Paypal enter the space. But the thing is that no one gets excited because they know that they are here because of the simply fact that they are going to make money out of us.

So why not directly go to exchanges and buy crypto and then store in our wallet?
4164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The pump and dump scheme on: February 07, 2021, 08:03:47 AM
I have created a thread about this with infographics, What is Pump and Dump Scheme?

This is very applicable right now at we have seen the likes of Doge coin being hugely pump by this signal groups. Maybe others need to revisit the thread that I have created to get a clearer picture of what this fraudulent activity is.
4165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Long, Short or Hodl for LTC? on: February 06, 2021, 12:31:57 PM
LTC price is mooning along with other altcoins.

Can you give me some of your TA for LTC?
Needs to break $200 first. Yes it's mooning and so are the rest of the altcoins, but LTC have a lot of mental barriers to overcome before we can say that it is on a bull run. As I mentioned, it needs to pass $200 because this seems to be the biggest hurdle in front of LTC. If it will have a break out run then I will say that it will continue and go to $250.
4166  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Miguel Berchelt vs Oscar Valdez WBC Super-Featherweight Title on: February 06, 2021, 11:43:46 AM
To add to that, this fight has been brewing since last year, but has to be postponed because Berchelt was tested positive of Covid-19. So take this in consideration when you are going to bet on this fight. If the fight goes to distance, maybe just maybe it can affect him physically. So I hope that is not the case for Berchelt here.
Just curious, have we seen boxers who have been infected by the virus and then comeback and fight and then lose some steam because of the effect?

But I agree, this is a battle of two champions,  Mexican blood flowing in their veins so this will be war and this will probably might not go to distance and end up with a KO. Odds are good for Oscar Valdez, (wink, wink),  Wink
That's what we love about Mexicans and that's why there are rivalries even from Mexicans themselves. But we love to see Mexicans vs Filipinos or Mexicans vs Puerto Ricans. But in this case I will go with the champion Berchelt he will be too much for Valdez. But this has the making of probably another Barerra vs Morales.
4167  Other / Meta / Gah, your tab just crashed on: February 06, 2021, 11:21:24 AM
I was quite surprised to see this error, actually if was my first time to see this kind of message from this forum. Been here for some time now so I'm wondering if others have seen this kind of error message before. I know that you can just refresh to restore the tab. But I'm just curious though.

Note: this coincides with bitcoin hits $40k again so probably there are a lot of online users right now causing this kind of error
4168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Elon Musk Again & Again Tweet for Doge? on: February 05, 2021, 01:19:15 PM
even before he showed favour to Dogecoin. I see it just as he is rich and bored. he must have a good time when he sees such a strong echo of his tweets.
I don't think they using it to make his own profit on Doge trade, it just for fun like Dogecoin it is.
Yeah, and probably he is measuring his tweets how powerful tool it can bee, and probably his ego is telling him that the has such influence on everything, not just in his projects, his company, but in crypto verse as well.

And it makes more people happy, specially pump and dump groups, WSB who are also riding the waves of Doge right now. Seems to be he is the next McAfee, but he is not charging anyone for his tweet, unlike John who uses his tweeter to make at least $100k per tweet during the hype of crypto craze in 2017.
4169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold Could be Next Bitcoin on: February 05, 2021, 12:38:21 PM
I'm sorry all your arguments has flawed in the beginning, Bitcoin Gold is an altcoin, it doesn't have the consensus support of the community. The people behind? not really sure if they have what it takes to be Satoshi.

There could only be one bitcoin though, the first of it's kind the first and no one can duplicate it's success in crypto sphere, sorry to burst the bubble for you.
4170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Cardano (ADA) coin hit $10 During 2021? on: February 05, 2021, 12:06:45 PM
Actually, it's going to hit more than $10 if the rate of growth continues. This week alone it amounted up to 38.96% increase, it's more than that last week also. If every week it goes that high, it won't end the year when the price hits more than $10.

So you guys are thinking that this bull market will continue till the end of 2021? Actually, I hope so but it seems unlikely. I think we are now in the third phase of the bull market when small market cap projects increase parabolically. So we just have a month, then bear market will start. BTW I really hope  I am wrong because if the bull market end up at the end of this year I will be a millionaire lol.
We will have to see, we haven't seen altcoin market really goes into a bull run so we can't say that it will end till 2021, maybe this is just the beginning for all we know. But ADA at $10? I'm not really sure about it. Probably $3.00-$5.00 the most.

Of course we all know it to grow exponentially so that everyone of us will become millionaires in this bull run. But it will take a lot of money to pour into ADA to make it $10.00 and we don't know where that huge influx of money will come from.
4171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Yearn Finance exploited $2.8 millon stolen on: February 05, 2021, 11:40:13 AM
So there's another Defi hack, and it was reported to have been at the tune of #2.8 million as per this tweet,
DeFi tokens are risky to invest as their prices are very high than their intrinsic value. I don't know the exact intrinsic value of DeFi tokens but look at the hype trend on DeFi, I don't take risk with them.

Lock your tokens to their vaults and accept risks of exploits, hacks, price drops, oh no, I don't take it. DeFi projects are not the same in quality for their products and their security, I know, but generally, I see them very risky investment.
I agree, everything about Defi today is just pure hype and despite we have seen them being hack and millions being taken from them, investors are not going to stop though, and that is sad. Instead of making money, the opposite is happening, and the real winner here is the criminals who are going to see loopholes and exploit it.

So it's very risky for everyone, and I do hope that they know what they are doing once they got into the Defi hype.
4172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Elon Musk's Tweets... on: February 04, 2021, 12:12:48 PM
"No highs, no lows, only Doge"

"Dogecoin is the people’s crypto"

This guy is only playing with you and the markets. It's all fun for him, he's just trolling.
I agree, he is a complete troll, but the thing is that he has the reputation and the influence so for him this is just a game and probably doing this for giggles, Lol. So people are going to be fooled, pushing Doge again, and then a huge dump. For those who are early then they can make a lot of money, but for those who FOMO and bought at the top, then this could be a wake up call for them as they might lose their hard earn money.
4173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The Doge Observer : DOGE / BTC :: DOGE / USDT on: February 04, 2021, 11:24:10 AM
Dogecoin is a hidden gem in the crypto market. Besides old coins that still have a huge fan in the market, dogecoin can increase anytime without we can expect the time. But I do not know if dogecoin can go up higher than the last ATH or it will be back to the lower price. We will shock with what dogecoin can do, especially for the last time the price increase. Buying dogecoin now will not recommend because the price already increases, but if you want to gamble with your money, that will not be a problem.
LOL, how can you say it is a hidden gem when it has been in the market for many years and yet it remain a meme coin. What we just witnessed as of late is some WSB pumping it as long as they can and make money out of it.

Besides, there's not much development in the background, so it can be in the crypto space but I wouldn't say it's a hidden gem, just another pump and dump coin. The only saving grace for Dogecoin is that it is being used by gamblers as deposit or withdrawal option because it is cheap and fast.
4174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are privacy coins still a thing? on: February 04, 2021, 10:53:44 AM
Is there still some love for privacy coins cos no one seem to be taking about them anymore, how many of you guys are really using privacy coins for their real use case (anonymous) ? Do you invest in privacy coins for their use case or to make money out of them?
I think privacy coins still has audience here in the forum and overall crypto community. I haven't used them though, probably except Monero in 2017-2018. However, some notable exchanges have been de-listing them so I stop to "invest" on them.

Till date I have never use bitcoin mixer to hide my transactions cos I don't see any reason to do so, what about you?
Have used mixer though many times, to obfuscate and break the link on my known bitcoin addresses.
4175  Economy / Economics / Re: Risk-takers always ahead financially on: February 03, 2021, 10:20:47 PM
Life is all about taking risks and the same thing applies to getting money. You can't just fold your arms wishing you had money, the best way of being ahead is by getting started.
But in certain cases, it's better to fold and live another day.

When opportunities that can lead to money arrive, many people out of fear, laziness and curiosity always doesn't grab them and they'll be waiting for someone to try so they can see the outcome, that doesn't make you smart it'll only delay or stop you from encountering your financial breakthrough.
Still a risk though, not many people are willing to go that route because obviously, the next day they might not have the money to feed their family and bring food in the table. So it could be a calculated risk, if you go all-in and you lose, you should have at least a back up plan.

You should cultivate the habit of being well-informed about the financial opportunities circulating around the globe so when you get the chance never allow fear, laziness or being too curious to stop you. money is not for the weak so be brave.
Yes, but for me it will just make things complicated, just focus on opportunities that you are familiar with.
4176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH keep breaking record and what happened to BCH? on: February 03, 2021, 01:46:06 PM
So far, it is difficult to say when Ethereum will reach a price of 2k$, since for some reason big players do not want to pump the Ethereum price to 2k$ and as we see for a long time the Ethereum price has been standing still in the region of 1300$-1500$, but about BCH I do not expect anything good, but in general the price of BCH in 2020 has doubled and this is certainly not bad either, but for such top cryptocurrency like BCH, this is certainly small pump, but perhaps this year BCH will begin to reach new heights.
It's not that difficult though, it has broken that next mental barrier that is $1500 so $2k is very close now for Ethereum. Besides there is the Eth2.0 which could bring more money to the space. BCH? we all know that it is just a fork of the original coin and as much as they have been saying that it has big blocks and faster and cheap, still it didn't get the support of the community.
4177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: bull run is coming and just waiting for your turn on: February 03, 2021, 11:42:35 AM
Market is surely confusing but actually the trend thats happening right now is mostly the top coins or the ones that are really doing great in terms of their devs are suddenly starting to show their use case and is no longer the moment of pumps for shitcoins except maybe for DOGE I hope somebody will stop pumping that but sure bull is already here Watch out for whats trending and try to find others relative to them
Obviously, the people behind those projects are very active, that's why they got the support from this community. And those shitcoins? nah, they are going to be used by pump and dump groups to make money out of the newbies.

So if ever there is a bull run in altcoin market, it will start on the top coins, just like ETH, right now, surpassing it's all time high again, breaking barriers at $1500.
4178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: MEW is safe? on: February 03, 2021, 10:37:40 AM
One of easiest way to create and access Ethereum and erc20 token is MEW web interface. My question is , is it safe to keep big amount in MEW or better not to rely on it.
You're the only one that can answer that, MEW is one of the most targeted by cyber criminals through phishing, if you don't know how to practice safe security hygiene so you are going to lose you tokens their. So it's really up to you, MEW is generally safe, as far as personal experience. But if you really wanted to keep huge amount of money, it's better to get a hardware wallet.
4179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Dogecoin needs Electrum on: February 03, 2021, 10:00:07 AM
For fear of being "dogpiled" (excuse the pun)... why invest so much effort into developing a wallet for what is really just another "pump and dump"? Huh

Sure the price spiked to an ATH... and now it is slowly decaying back down to it's "regular" levels.
Exactly, the recent pump and pump  was just like that, several groups collude which each other and pump the meme coin for as much as it's worth, and they've probably converting it to bitcoin before depositing to their wallet.

And most Doge holders are probably holding in it an exchange anyways. If ever there was a plan to create a SPV, it should definitely happen years ago.
4180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum going up? on: February 02, 2021, 11:50:17 PM
Step by step and it is moving, it never makes investors panic, it may be slow but it surely takes everyone along. If you are looking for the next promising coin in the market, then pass not by Ethereum. It is going to walk us through bitcoin's footsteps.
Currently, the price is above $1500, so we may say that it has surpassed the all time high set in 2018 and it is very stable and slowly going up. Next resistance is $1800, and if we broke this one then $2k might be in the horizon.

Breaking $1800 though might take some time, the steady growth has been slowing down. Unless we hear new updates again regarding Eth2.0, then it might because of the hype. So we have to wait and see how it is this February. For Ethereum holders, just continue to HODL or increase our portfolio.
