4161  Economy / Economics / Re: Net worths if Bitcoin reaches $100,000 on: May 03, 2020, 02:39:18 PM
I don't know how accurate this data is. Recently there were rumors that Roger Ver had sold some of his coins. The same was said about the Winklevii sometime back. We don't know accurate information regarding the holding for any of them. Even Satoshi Nakamoto may be holding more coins than given here. Or there is even a chance that he is holding none (in case the private keys are lost).
4162  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency can not replace fiat currency. on: May 03, 2020, 02:33:45 PM
Sorry, but it was not as I've looked into the market. The situation may reveal that people are now conserving more on fiat rather than adopting cryptocurrency. People have their options, we are supposed to think that during these hard times people will go for crypto but it happens that they are converting it into fiat. Then it was clear to think that crypto isn't the first option but instead, they will consider this purely as an investment.

That is not how it works. In difficult times, people will be more interested in assets that can act as store of value. So they will go after bullion, United States Treasury bonds.etc. Cryptocurrencies are being regarded as a high-risk asset, and therefore the interest in them will be rather muted during hard times. But as the market matures, this situation may change.
4163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which one is the best to earn more? airdrop or bounty? on: May 03, 2020, 02:16:26 PM
This question needs to be rephrased. If you ask which one is more rewarding, then obviously bounties will be the answer. But then, the amount of effort that you needs to put in these bounties may be much higher when compared to that in airdrops. Anyway, it is up to you. Whether you want to spend 1 minutes for $1 worth of tokens, or you are going for $10 worth of tokens by spending a few hours of your time.
4164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to survive if you lose more than 80% of your Capital? on: May 03, 2020, 01:32:13 PM
First of all, nothing can be done if you've invested in shitcoins. If your token has lost 80% of its value, then the most intelligent thing to do would be to make an exit after booking losses. The ICO boom of 2017 was a short lived bubble. It is not going to repeat ever again. If you book the losses now, then you may recuperate some of your investment. But I agree that it can be a very difficult thing to do.
4165  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: May 03, 2020, 01:26:02 PM
Remember that this is a country, which can't even start it's own franchise T20 league. They have a population of just around 4 million, and they don't have superstars such as Steve Smith, Virat Kohli, Joe Root and Quinton de Kock. It is amazing that they could achieve this much with a limited player pool, and even more limited budget.
You have the answer why they never started their own T20 franchise league, it is because of the low population they have compared to the other countries who started their own league and these leagues get their money if they have a huge fan following and they clearly know that they will not meet the expense if they launch one, population does not mean anything in sports, India with a billion population cannot pick a world class football team and we all know how many Olympic medals India wins when compare to how many Jamaica wins with a population less than 3 million.

Perhaps you are right. A franchise T20 league would have been a loss making proposition with such a low population. But there can be exceptions. Look at the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). The total population of West Indies is only slightly higher than that in NZ, but they have managed a highly competitive and profitable franchise T20 league (thanks to the large fanbase in India and the US).

I don't want to comment on the second part of your post. It is really embarrassing that India lags behind nations such as Jamaica as far as Olympic Sports are concerned.
4166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best coin in 2020 for long term buy ? on: May 03, 2020, 01:19:34 PM
Do not be fooled, many new altcoins nowadays are unreliable, they will end up hurting you, the best coins are already available, there is no need looking for fresh coins, better choose from top coins
Don't waste time on new projects, they need a lot of time to prove their worth so we don't need to invest too much in them. The best option is to join and invest in the top altcoins in this market, their prices are too cheap compared to ATH and they have proven that they are the best altcoins in this market.

I have the same opinion regarding the new projects. Looking for a good one to invest among them is like searching for a needle in the haystack. We have far better options among the existing projects. If you want to invest in new projects, then it is up to you. But as far as I am concerned, the risk is not worth taking. There are a few good ones... but the market situation is not conductive for the new projects.
4167  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 03, 2020, 01:13:05 PM
1- Its resolved, BCCI already bend the knee for the right reasons and working with the NADA
2- BCCI-ECB-CA-PCB-CSA /ICC all are against it.
3- ICC and cricket boards has 3-4 year window to reschedule any Bilateral or ICC tournament. Olympics only need 12-20 days.

** Last 2 points has some merits.

Thanks for this. My information was not up to date. If BCCI is working with NADA, it is great news. Cricket should be free from performance enhancing drugs, and I hope that we are moving in that direction. Yes.. none of the cricket boards will favor qualifying tournaments. I should have said all the 11 test boards plus ICC, rather than saying BCCI/ICC.

Regarding your last point: If cricket is included in the 2028 Olympic games, then I guess it will be similar to football. Only 2-3 regular players will be allowed and the remainder will be U-23 players. So I am not sure whether the ICC tournaments needs to be rescheduled or not. It may affect only a few players.
4168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto is not in healthy state yet on: May 03, 2020, 01:06:13 PM
Cryptocurrency market is still in a suppressed state. People are not realizing it, because the prices are moving upward for the last few weeks. They are not looking in to the bigger picture. We need to remember that only a few days remain for the next block reward halving. And we are nowhere near the ATH that was reached in 2017. On the other hand, we are more than 50% down, when compared to the ATH levels.
4169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino workers, asking for salary during the shutdown on: May 03, 2020, 01:00:24 PM
Lockdown is being lifted in a staggered manner across the globe, and I hope that most of the casinos will be back in action very soon. If that doesn't happen, then a compromise needs to be reached between the two sides. Casinos can't operate online, as we already have online gambling sites for this purpose. Regular visitors may not be comfortable with the online casino games. Either wait until the lockdown is lifted, or try to reach a deal. There is no other option available.
4170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to offload an Altcoin on: May 03, 2020, 12:54:14 PM
If you have $400,000 worth of an Altcoin, that has a daily trading volume of $100,000, how do you offload it? Because it seems like a coin with a medium amount of trading volume only has maybe $500 trades at the most. So I don't get how someone could offload a large amount?

Daily trade volume in most cases is inflated. So you can't go by the numbers based on the exchange data. If the exchanges are not inflating it, then there is a good chance that the bots are responsible for most of the volume. Anyway, I have never dealt with such huge volumes before. However, my suggestion would be to go for peer to peer deals outside the exchange. But then, you need to offer steep discounts (40% or 50%), and I would recommend it only in case you are facing extreme cash crunch.
4171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcointalk PSL T20 Pool and discussion. on: May 03, 2020, 12:48:37 PM
@ pakhitheboss already mentioned about Political interference and favoritism and its true, favoritism can get you chance but if you failed to capitalize then no one can save you at any cost.

In other sports situation is worse but in cricket India got lucky because BCCI always had strong management and mature leadership over the long period of time and top of that BCCI can't compromise on quality due to their marketing strategy.

The management of BCCI has improved a lot over the years. Things are getting more transparent, especially after people such as N Srinivasan and Sharad Pawar were kicked out. Now Ganguly seems to be having the power, and its a good thing. BCCI needs to be controlled by the players, and not by some businessmen and politicians who in reality have no interest in the sport.
4172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stay in waves or convert them to ethereum? on: May 03, 2020, 12:42:03 PM
IMO, Waves is a failed project. It was being touted as an alternative to Ethereum, and now it is clear that this objective was not achieved. The exchange rate, as well as the trade volumes have been going down for more than two years now. And in the world of altcoins, when a coin goes down continuously for that long, it can mean only one thing.
4173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 03, 2020, 12:34:11 PM
BCCI will never add cricket into olympics even other cricket boards wanted to BCCI can influence them to stop them getting added because if cricket become a part of Olympics then BCCI is one of the big profits loser from their major tournaments this is the only reason they don't want to be a part of Olympics.

Loss of profits may be just one of the many concerns. There are other factors in play as well. Some of them are:

1. Olympic athletes are subjected to drug tests. BCCI has not given approval to this.

2. There will be no automatic qualification for all the 11 test nations. BCCI/ICC is against this.

3. A global tournament such as Olympics can have a negative impact on other ICC tournaments.

4. Only citizens of a particular country can represent it in the Olympic games. This means that UAE, USA.etc can't field teams.

5. It may cause complexities to some of the existing teams. For example, England, Wales, Scotland and N.Ireland will be forced to field a single team (which needs to include other teams such as Bermuda, Anguilla.etc as well). Ireland team will only consist of Republic of Ireland. Northern Ireland players can't play for Ireland.
4174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good time to buy some alt? on: May 03, 2020, 12:28:11 PM
There are more than 10,000 different coins and tokens in existence right now and you can't really generalize all of them. Among these huge number of cryptocurrencies, there are very promising ones and those which can be considered as "shitcoins". You need to take a decision regarding investment on a case to case basis. It is not possible to have a single policy regarding all the alts.
4175  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: May 03, 2020, 12:22:40 PM
I don't think that was the best team of Pakistan which played the 1992 world cup. For me , 1999 World cup team Pakistan had Wasim Akram, Waqar
Younis and Sohaib Aktar and that was the best fast bowling attack Pakistan team ever had.

It is very difficult to compare the 1992 and 1999 squads. Wasim Akram was there in both the squads. By the time of the 1999 World Cup, he had lost some of his venom. The swing was still there, but he was no longer bowling the 90 mph deliveries on a consistent basis. The same can be said about Waqar Younis as well. Shoaib Akhtar was the difference. He was at his peak during the 1999 World Cup.
4176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: High rewards still possible in bounties? on: May 03, 2020, 12:16:15 PM
We need to remember that the bounties will be rewarding, only if the project is a success. And here is the problem. There is a limited scope for new projects right now. The market sentiment is that there are too many projects active right now and the available space is quite limited. When the market is moving towards consolidation, it will be too much to expect the new projects to succeed and give good rewards.
4177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US Presidential Election 2020 on: May 03, 2020, 12:10:37 PM
Democrats preferred another 5 Trump years instead of a communist president candidate, Sanders. Trump won the moment Sanders decided to step down. It is not like Sanders had any chance against him but it was far greater than what Biden had.

Sanders had a good chance of defeating Trump (I would say around 90%), but I would rather say that Biden is having a higher chance. Sanders is too far to the left, and the moderate voters in swing states may not like him. Biden is regarded as one of the center-left candidates, and he may be able to gain votes in swing states such as Pennsylvania, Michigan, Virginia.etc. Sanders is very popular among the youth and the Hispanic voters. But he trails among the black voters real bad.
4178  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: May 01, 2020, 06:19:41 PM
LOL.. more than Australia becoming the no.1 team, I am surprised at the rise of New Zealand. Last year, they almost won the ODI world cup. And now, they are just one point behind the top ranked Australia in the ICC test rankings.
4179  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US Presidential Election 2020 on: May 01, 2020, 06:13:58 PM
LOL... So they are planning to replace Biden with Hillary? I don't know why they are doing this over and over again. Trump would have never won the 2016 elections, if the Democrats had fielded someone other than Hillary. They could have even nominated Kim Kardashian or Ron Jeremy, and still Trump would be tasting defeat. But then they had other ideas. They rigged the primaries and antagonized those who supported Sanders. The Bernie supporters stayed at home and Trump won because of that. Do they want a repeat of this, all over again?

IMO, Trump has zero chances of winning this year's elections. There is only one organization which can help him at this point. And the name of that organization is the Democratic National Committee.
4180  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 01, 2020, 06:06:57 PM
When you talk about cricket, the  term boring refers to the small teams or players which are unknown or did not belong to the Top 8 teams.
For example, If there are two T20 matches being played simultaneously between Aus Vs India and  USA Vs Canada , you will find everyone will be watching the first match even though it is a one sided one and the 2nd might be a thriller in terms of balls/run required.

This argument is flawed. For example, lets assume that two matches are taking place at the same time. Both of them involve test playing nations and no associate sides. The first one is between India and Australia, and the second one is between Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. Do you really think that the TRP for the second match will be any higher than a USA vs Canada match?

And when talking about associates, I don't want to include teams such as USA, Canada, Hong Kong, UAE.etc. Because these teams don't have a single citizen playing for them. They are like India B or Pakistan B teams. The real associates are Scotland, Netherlands, Nepal, PNG, Namibia, Kenya.etc. And trust me, the associate nations can produce players who can become crowd favorites. During the 1999 World Cup, it was the turn of Gavin Hamilton and Steve Tikolo. In 2003, it was Collins Obuya and John Davison. Then again in 2007, it was Boyd Rankin.
