What speeds can one expect with this, check my last reply to see where I sit with everything right now.

256.25 = 512gh

250 = 500gh

243.75 = 487gh

237.5 = 475gh

231.25 = 462gh

225 = 450gh

218.75 = 440gh

or close enough.

Well, I finally did it...

Three of my four B5 S3's are all steady at 477+ Gh/s with freq 237.5 with the fourth never seeming to go over 460, did find one x on that one but that's after a week of 237.5 so I just reset it without worry.

Anyway, as for what I finally did. I put one of the three "good" S3's on freq 250 and were now 15 mins in with no X's and ~500Gh/s.

If it runs well or at least an hr I will try 250 on the other two "good" ones doing ~477Gh/s

In philipma case he had one running 24hr OK on 250, then had to be restarted and was NEVER able to run at 237.5 again. For me it means that you will be better off keeping most miners either on 237.5 or 243.75 instead of swinging for 250 or 256.25

that was batch 4. they are both stable at 231.25

the batch 6 did all the way up to 256.25

but really bad hw

they like 237.5

these s-3 units are picky.

they even get different numbers pool to pool

i suspect it may be how far you are from the pool's server's.
I am getting this psu on fri will see if it runs 4 s-3's

 i know it is far more  $ then the 1300 watt model but it will be fun to test.

I'm also interested how do we have our miners shipped?

I don't see any option to do so  Undecided

I will check on this as I may want one or two sent to me one day.

What miners are you looking to have shipped?

Please feel free to email me at amber@gawminers.com or visit me at hashtalk.org

Sincerely,
Amber
GAWMiners Community Relations Manager

I will contact you around august 28th or 29th.  I may want an s-3 shipped to me.

Okay sounds good! You can request shipping on your S-3 after your month of hosting is up Cheesy

I will keep an eye out for your email!

Sincerely,
Amber

i wouldn't do it philipma1957....the horror stories on them shipping units is stacked up so high you could write a book on it...

wow nice...almost made a full coin Smiley also a placement to watch thread Smiley

basically I think this can make money if btc moves to around 600 by sept 1st, then takes off in oct.

time will tell.

notice  about a 50-50 split with btc vs scrypt

also notice very little in hashlet.----- I am less secure with what hashlet is worth if this all crashes.

so I think i will keep that low on purpose.  no need to go nuts here I have enough in for now.

if it all crashes, your scrypt and btc will be caught in it too...but you have chargeback for now...they could just wait til that time is over n then spring the trap...who knows

true but with 60 days protecting on the chargebacks I will have almost all my roi in.  as of today I am about 500usd towards 1800 usd.

this is the biggest problem with btc/alt coins defending against the crooked people in the game.

As of today I can't make my mind up about  gawminer's honesty  so I go at it defensively and hope for the best.

as I get back more of the invested money I will feel a bit better about them.

Hi!
I would love to clear up any questions you have! Lie to you cause that is what i get paid to do! Please email me at amber@gawminers.com

I hope you have a great day!
Sincerely,
Amber

FTFY Amber Grin no way i'd get a straight answer out of them...they can't prove where all these units are magically hashing at...Oh and the BS answer from the CEO says "We hash on all pools, all the time" ya right cause none of those pools have even had 1 single msg from anyone at GAW/ZEN...every day goes by, they sound more n more like a ponzi scheme then an actually honest company...just spewing out more lies on top of the other lies...i just hope someday soon they fudge up their lies and everyone sees them for what they truly are...god and i got units with them Sad so either i sit and hope maybe this is all just a misunderstanding or try and ship my units here but it would take months for the units to actually show up here and then be even more worthless so i think i'm screwed either way Sad

and another thing about the pools, if they were let say just mining on zenpool this whole entire time...but now they sell what like 2mil in hashlets...but no new hash hitting the graphs for all that? come on GAW, you think we wouldn't notice that? well i did...most of the the other fools just handed ya over all their money, which your more then happy to take and run for the hills Tongue sorry for the long post just sick of gaw jerking everyone around

Well you might be correct. Back  last year DzCoop was talking the talk did some nice deals they ended up a big bust out.  I am not sure what I have going here but I will play it a day at a time.
41767  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Lies And Over reactions on: August 19, 2014, 02:31:05 AM
The OP doesnt even understand what ROI means.... what a dumbfck.

He only looks at the cashflow from mining. Which means jack.... Take the btc you SPENT to get mining rig, and do an estimate to see if you can MINE that same amount of btc back. Dumb shit are born every day.

At best you're gambling to get back of what you spent.... woohoo. Now go find a job and see what opportunity cost you paid compared to just buy and hold bitcoins.

Yes i do understand what ROI means because i realise what ive spent on my miners and what i spent on electricity ur just angry because u cant have the same experience otherwise you would agree u sit there on your computer and get angry while ive made back the amount of money i spent oon my equipment and psu and electricity so what does ROI mean to u then ? Also if u dont believed that i did ROI very well i can send u pictures of my multibit wallet ill point out all the investments ive made i have them all labeled

I have proff where is yours ? Ur calculations that are theoretical thank you too bad im sitting here on my money that i made im not rich but i do make profit also i run a bussiness mostly with trading good would know a thing or 2 about money

What you got was fiat ROI.  That's what a new miner would hope for.  Anybody with a modicum on intelligence would be looking for BTC ROI since that was the whole purpose of mining.  If you don't not comprehend this, then either read up on it and come back and ask questions or just assume we're all idiots.  Somewhere out there is the truth.

Not true as of today if you report on your USA tax return.  Fiat is king not BTC.  I get tired of pointing this out.

 But if a USA citizen reports his taxes the way you speak he would be filing  an incorrect tax return.
41768  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Miners are about to get squeezed big time unless the price of BTC jumps soon on: August 19, 2014, 02:26:00 AM
It's crazy to see that people just blindly continue to add power to the network regardless of what the price/difficulty are doing.  I think part of this is yet another negative of the pre-order disease BTC suffers from.  If you ordered from Company XYZ three+ months ago and the box shows up on your doorstep today what are you going to do, not plug it in?  But would you order that same piece of hardware for the same price today even if it would be delivered tomorrow?  Too often I think the answer to that question is a big fat NO.
Until people truly keep their hands in their pockets and stop financing the development for h/w Co's. two, three quarters away I don't think it will change.

Even Bitmain who had one of the best reps out there have really left a bad taste in people's mouths with the S3, now they want you to wait until September 20th for the next round to ship and pay .66BTC for it TODAY.

It's 0.58BTC... but I'm just nitpicking there.  I agree with your post.  Try to tell somebody they can purchase a 600GH/s miner for $4000 and they'll tell you to go pound sand.

Same stuff I have posted elsewhere. According to my calculations, even with a sub 10 cent/kwh electric rate you are not making money at these difficulties if BTC is below 650, 650 being about break even after 3-4 months. And thats assuming (big assumption) that you did not overpay for the hardware (another set of calculations).

PS Forget most online 'profit calculators'. Pie in the sky, not real world earnings by any means. But better than nothing.
You need to stop thinking in terms of fiat here.  You need to consider whether or not the miner you purchase will ever make back the BTC it cost to purchase it.  If you are going to invest fiat in the hardware, instead of BTC, you need to look at how much BTC that fiat can buy you at the same time you are going to purchase the hardware.  For example, if BTC is $100 a coin and your miner costs $3000, you can either buy 30BTC or the hardware.  If you choose the hardware, you need to determine whether or not that hardware will ever get you back the 30BTC during its useful lifespan.  Same applies if the cost of a coin is $10,000.  You can buy 0.3BTC or that miner.  If the miner will earn you back more than 0.3BTC, then pick up the miner.

Not true for any USA miner that is declaring the btc on his tax return.
41769  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Pluto, S4, or SP50 - which will be announced first? on: August 19, 2014, 02:23:57 AM
My Bet is the S4. 2TH, 1400W.
Here is how I see it...

  • Bitmain: S4 2TH, 1400W
  • KnC: Pluto 8TH, 4500W
  • Spondoolies: SP50 12TH, 6000W (4X PSUs)

I think we've pretty much found the ceiling with .5W/GH.  Now we only have to know about the selling price for all of these.  With Bitcoin price in big trouble, development is sure to slow.  This should favor BitMain which develops on their own money rather than pre-order.  Bitmain might be the big winner.

Will the S4 arrive before Christmas?

  No  Next year.   Jan 7th will be the day it ships. 2100gh at 1150 watts.    it will have an evga 1300 psu in it.  A true beast.
41770  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 19, 2014, 02:20:36 AM
How fast is their shipping?
China to Canada must take weeks?

they can get it to canada in 3 days if they want to.  right now they are choosing to not ship until sept 20th
41771  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 19, 2014, 12:07:57 AM
I use them on p2pool using --queue 0 --failover-only with excellent results  Wink

p2pool is great as a backup.  I would still use Nicehash as a primary for the premium they are paying atm.

p2p will pay you what the calcs say you should get. no more.  Nicehash can pay you %20 more which it is atm.  It serves me no benefit to evne post that here because if all of you start to hash there the orders go through quicker and less for me.  Worst case set nicehash as your first with a BTC payout limit and it will only give you premium work loads for much better btc.

this is a no brainer.

pick your favorite pool after that for pool 2 and 3

Fahlcor

Just stop advertising your pool. Your entire history is filled with you finding excuses to mention its name.

+1 It's everywhere...... Roll Eyes

Yes this is my pool of choice at the moment and I'm using my S3's to mine it.  I'm happy to share the info with my fellow miners.  Not sure if you noticed but I didn't even post a refer code or anything.  Just an honest tip to help out my fellow S3 miners.  I thought the title was discussion forum and support.

I'm not associated with any pool.

Sorry to those I have offended.  You're welcome to those I have helped.

I won't post about it any more.

Good Day.

Fahlcor

you can post a good pool here.  do not let angry people scare you off. many of us pool hop so a pool to try is fine.

Please pm me about this pool I put 4 s-3's on it and I am a bit confused about the settings.

never mind i will pm you

Just giving this a try.  I have some Antminer S1's that are getting nothing but rejects.  Others seem to be OK.
Any idea why this would be?

I am new to this about an hour in.    I set 3 s-3's to westhash as I am usa.  I used the same btc addy for all three.

I wonder if using 1 or 2 per btc addy is better.  do you have like 10 s-1's set to 1 btc addy?
41774  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] NiceHash.com - innovative professional cryptocurrency cloud mining service on: August 18, 2014, 08:05:53 PM
I totally agree with you...

Profit on Nicehash has been less then other multipool in the last few days

On the SHA-256 side I have never made as much as the calc have said i should except on Nicehash.  Thanks Nicehash!

this is how you set your prices as a seller.

https://www.nicehash.com/?p=faq#faqs4

Just use pool fail over and the sellers can easily control the price. If you want more and you all set the price high enough then it will move.  It would have to be a coordinated effort.

I suggest we don't sell unless the price on SHA-256 is .03/Thash

;-)

okay  you posted in the s-3 thread.  So I am in the USA and I joined west hash.

digital hashlet miners are basically a share like    https://cex.io/  or better yet like  https://scrypt.cc/

zenpoints  are like interest on the coin you earn.   i will explain  more on them later today.  1 zen point is .000001 btc

  I need to check on that.  maybe .00001 btc.

so if i want to buy something from them with the coin I earn I get to spend the zen points

so a 15.99 usd hashlet is .03351504 btc  - 117 zen points = .03339804 btc  so 117 zenpoints = .000117 btc

you earn them by mining with your zencloud account.   they have good and bad points will explain later

I would claim as fast as I could

9 hours ago he said 12 hours so 3 more hours from this post
