ok finally got the rom to work, had to do a full re-install of the drivers , copy the modded driver and then boot with option 7

not sure how to get option 7 to auto load on boot.

One issue I'm seeing

dual mining seems quite neutered compared to stock ? at 30 dcri I am seeing 24.5 eth and 360ish sc when before I was getting 23.5 eth and 420 sc

now if I mine eth only I was seeing high hash rates around 31mhs

Also the cards all now detect and 4GB I know others mentioned that as well, it does seem  that the core clocks are maxing around 980 which might be the reason for the low SIA or dual mining ?

Try this one Marvell, 29Mh otb, low power usage

Greetings
Thanks Eliovp , just tried this new bios and the cards defintlay seem to run cooler and more stable, howver I still get lower than stock when I use dcri over 20 for Sia coin.

I'm seeing around 22 mhs eth and 390 sia with my normal dcri 30.

With it lowered to 20 I get 26 mhs/eth and 200 SC

Maybe its my drivers ? I'm using the latest Driver 16.8.2

funny thing is when the miner initlally starts I see the expected rates : 26.5 mhs eth and 400 SC then it immediately drops down to 21 eth hmm

Which version of the drivers are you using?

Here's what I'm seeing after flashing , unsure why no temperature are being reported - it's a stock powercolor rx 480

using the latest driver 16.8.2

not tried other drivers

1: (while everything is at stock, so stock rom, stock driver) i execute this command first (as admin)
Quote
bcdedit /set nointegritychecks on

2: I reboot to safe mode(Hold Shift while clicking reboot) and i replace that atikmdag.sys file.

3: I reboot back into windows with that replaced atikmdag file. Windows should load perfectly, same for your drivers.

after this step all my cards show the error :

This device is not loading properly becase windows cannot load drivers for this device any help ?

4186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How will this change the world of mining?? GTX 1080 / 1070 on: August 18, 2016, 06:36:34 PM
it can do 30MH at 80w or lower, so i find it strange that you need 100w just for 750MH on sia, because when you mine sia only you need 140w for 1.5 giga so for half of that 70w should suffice

therefore the wattage should be 80+70=150w...

yeah thats what im saying no way a 1070 should pull over 150 watt do dual mine SIA if it is then its not worth buying for dual miners.  If anything I would perfer 30 eth and 600 sia for 130 watt
4187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How will this change the world of mining?? GTX 1080 / 1070 on: August 18, 2016, 05:31:46 PM
For GTX 1070 I can change clock/voltage table as I need. Then by adjusting TDP slider I peek needed range that will be used. Very easy and works without bugs.
Gtx 1070 could use 80 watt and could use 180 watt, hashrates will vary accordingly, what to prefer is up to you ))

If the 1070 cannot do 27mhs eth and 700ish sia for under 150 watts its not really worth it for eth mining probbaly better for other coins

180 wats is too high for those hash rates is all i am saying
4188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How will this change the world of mining?? GTX 1080 / 1070 on: August 18, 2016, 04:23:36 PM

the 480 does 31MH on ethereum plus 750 on sia? i really doubt this is the case and at 150w...

show proof at least, anyway he pushed it too much, he can adjust the core to consume 150w while maintaining a good compromise

Elivop said his 480 can do that. But he did not show the power usage yet. Only showed the GPUZ displayed 100W. So the true power could be 175 *112% on the wall.

he showed that it can do 31Mh on etheruem only, not 31MH PLUS 750MH on sia

dual mining with 480 is 24/350.. far from 1070

no way with 2200 memory and 100 v undervolt on mem and core I get 26mhs eth and 427 SIA for 150 watts

1070 should not be using 180 watts , the problem with the NVIDIA builds is how do you lower core and memory voltage as easily as you can for AMD
and don't say setting power limit its not the same as lowering the core and memory voltages.

Until that is easy to DO Rx 480 will be still a better build for new miners
4189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX480 (Reference) 31+Mh, Custom Rom on: August 18, 2016, 04:18:56 PM
Dual mining is only producing 23 & 350ish MH. However, solo is producing 31. Claymore is only reading the card as a 4gb. Am I doing something wrong to get such low dual mining?

that does not sound right you should be getting at least 27-28 eth and 400 sia, the whole point of dual mining is to keep close to max ETH hash rate and mine SIA as a bonus
4190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v6.1 (Windows/Linux) on: August 18, 2016, 03:34:39 PM
Clock control with rx480 is working great in 6.x, but i miss voltage control. Sometimes my miners lose power due to a external problem with some kind of spike of some factory in the neighborhood (when it happens, its always the same hour in the morning). Miners restart and launch claymore miner, but Wattman returns to default settings. This is 21mh/s instead of 27mh/s per card (rx480 4gb). I need to set memory to 2200mhz with 900mV and also underclock gpu in all steps.
Its possible to implement voltage control with claymore miner with the new ADL version?

yeah this would be huge for me as well

that's what I'm using for my 470s

the 8GB card arrived today and it gets 23mhs stock vs the 20 mhs stock on the 4 gig cards

I also installed the hotfix 16.8.2 over 7.3 and it fixed the issue with upping mem freq over 1700 , all 470s can get to 2050 mem now

Right now I upped the mem to 1750 for all cards and the 8 gig card gets to 24 mhs eth and 467 sia , all the 4 GB cards arfe 21.2 and 427 sia.

I think I could get these cards way higer with a custom bios though all in all they are decent cards with no 480s in stock

@Marvell1

how do you apply hot fix over 7.3? I first install 16.7.3-it is OK, then i try to install hotfix, it installs, but then throws Q5core.dll error if i keep 16.7.3. If i remove 16.7.3 first, then 'hotfix' installs fine.
By "over", do you mean install "hotfix" in the same folder as 16.7.3, or let it choose whatever folder it chooses?
Thanks

The hotfix is standalone, you need to remove 16.7.3 first.

Not true I just did the upgrade option

180 watt for 29 eth and 780 sia is bad
rx 480 does around 26 eth and 470 sia for half the price , that is if you can find any rx 480 lol
Yes, it is not so spectaculars as in lbry or lyra2v2 but it is 30+780 against 26+470 with the same power usage.
Now I stop with (31.6eth+630sia)@2050/2400@0.975v. Doubt that rx480 can come near even with bios mods.

actually the 480 does that at a max of 150 watts, 180 watts is just too much for my PSU's

MSI GTX 1070 getting 27MH/s with DaggerHashimoto and    0.38 GH/s with Decreed  dual mining

is this good?

whats the power usage, it seems 480s are a lot more power efficient dual mining than 1070s which is  shame becase you can barely find any 480s for sale

4GB is better for mining as it has less memory, so the power consumption is low. Most algorithms do not use 8GB.

Reselling value will be higher for 8GB version, gamers prefer more VRAM.

8GB cards mine at 24 mhs vs 21 for 4GB

tdp 170(180??) + 14%

dcri 50: 32 eth + 530 sia
dcri 50: 32.2 eth + 430 sia
dcri 40: 32.4 eth + 324 sia

performance is TDP limited!
ETH only 33mhs, with voltage add

If there is a good tdp unlocked bios then it will be possible to have 33mhs+330 sia

180 watt for 29 eth and 780 sia is bad
rx 480 does around 26 eth and 470 sia for half the price , that is if you can find any rx 480 lol

Here is what I have the 470s up too (impressive little cards). This is completely custom bios, and had to hack the shit out of the amdgpu pro drivers on linux to get it to work properly.

wow

Ubuntu 16?

Very impressive I think a lot of us would love to know how to do that!

On another note, the price on the RX 470's has climbed through the roof for the 8gb cards.  I see them selling for more than RX 480's... That's just insane!  I want some more RX 470's, but at these prices I am ordering RX 480's.  I will just have to keep my eyes open for some rx 470 8gb cards.  I see the MSI 470 8gb cards are out, but the memory is the slower memory so you won't get the hash rate from those cards you will from a card like the Nitro.

Looks like everything is sold out all over the place.  I was looking for some more parts for another rig and had to search all over the place or pay a premium just to find what I needed.  So it is getting kinda NUTS out here! LOL

how do you know the MSI 8GB is slower memory ? they seem fast to me I have some running at 23.5 dual mining sia at nearly 500mhs, compared with the 4gig cards that only do 21.5 mhs

New 372.54 Nvidia drivers released today.  No fix for maxwell win 10 poor eth performance unfortunately......

Tested here too, same hashrate still.
Claymore, can you please work this out?
Would be nice if besides our AMD rig, we could use your miner on our Nvidia one too.

The problem is not in the miner. The problem is in nvidia drivers. You have to use old drivers on Win10, new drivers don't work as they must do. But old drivers don't support cuda 7.5 which is used by the miner. So I have to release at least two versions of miner - for cuda 7.5 and for cuda 6.5. It's annoying, especially because I see less hashrate on cuda 6.5.

@claymore.  Still locks up with rx470. This round made it 10hr 42 min.  Always locks up on the Dev fee switch at random times of course. Opencl hang.  Have to shut computer down with power switch anytime this miner hangs which I feel is odd. The graphics card I am using for monitor isn't the rx470.  Not sure what can be done but looks like I'll go back to genoil. That miner doesn't have any loss in hash rate over 24hr and it just works.  Claymore can you do something like genoil where you can throw the opencl.dll into same directory as miner and it use that instead.  Seems to do the trick.

If you think that the problem is in drivers you can place driver files to the folder with miner. But it seems you mine not ETH and not EXP, so miner has to rebuild DAG every time and I don't see any ways to fix it if it hangs on your system. Perhaps you really need different miner for your coin.

I have mutiple versions of 470 cards , MSI, XFX, and a few Saphire OC cards all 4GB and they all work flawlessley with Calymore not the latest version the last one.

Could be that its due to being a mix in my system of old and new.. So uhm, yeah, i managed to get my custom rom running on Windows 10 by bypassing that aweful signature check :p
(Kudo's to Gupsterg and Lordkag for that)
Decided to create a new thread because my other threads are becoming a serious mess..

Reason why using claymore's,  couldn't directly get Genoil's to detect my card  Roll Eyes My apologies for that..

Results.

First run (no mod): 24Mh+ : Core clock 1275, Mem Clock 2000

Larger image: Here

Second run (modded): 28Mh : Same clocks, so: 1275, 2000

Larger image: Here

Next run (still modded): 30.5 - 31Mh : Lowered core to 1192 and raised memory to the (for now) max of 2250.

Larger image: Here

Then, for my final(for now) run: 31.5-32Mh : Raised core to 1220 and raised memory to 2275  Tongue

Larger image: Here

Will be doing more tests later, i'm sure i'll be able to go over 32Mh.
Great thing about this, when i ran the first testrun with stock clocks, card was at around 60 degrees and no abnormal fan speed.

Overall, awesome card Smiley

Power usage tests will follow later when i'm done tweaking my rom to the sweet spot Smiley

Greetings!

yeah i think its better to wait until a mod with lower memory and core voltage is reduced which should improve stability
keep us posted and thanks !

Could be that its due to being a mix in my system of old and new.. I got a new msi mobo today with 7 pcie so i will start that build off with the rx470 by itself to eliminate any issue my home pc may have  Thanks for letting me know that at least someone is having a good exp with the miner and the new amd cards. gives me hope. Now i just have to figure out why genoil works and this one dont.  I let genoil run for 4 days and it never glitched.  hmmmm

Best Regards

I'm at work so i cant send my entire string I am using nanpool's stratup ports for SIA and ETH

I did not apply the hotfix version of the driver , I'm using the 16.7.3 driver on my two 470 only rigs ( one is 5 cards , one is six cards)

I think there is a problem with that driver though since I cant get the memory over 1700 speed on that driver and even when I max out the memory the hash rate is fixed at around 23mhs.

What i did find is you can get the 470s to close to 24 mhs if you increase the power limit to +30% but the power usage jumps from 110 watts dual to over 150 watts so i still run the 470s at stock mem (since rasinng the mem seems to do nothing unlike the 480 cards) at around 20 mhs eth and 380 sia.

I have some 8gig 470s delivered today or tomorrow and hopefully the memory speed can be increased on those and actually makes a difference.

When i get home in a few hours i'll post my full claymore string and maybe that helps.

*** I just default eth intensity and 30 dcri  **
