Cool...another 1 day old account looking to sell a huge chunk of a miner he bought that may or may not even ship in the next 10 weeks from a Company openly telling it's customers that they have been hacked and lost people's BTC.

4187  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'll go out on a limb - I have more coins in Gox than I care to admit ;) on: February 11, 2014, 01:10:44 PM

i pulled out a significant amount of btc after they denied my verification.

all of my docs were in order, and have been accepted everywhere else.

i knew it was because they wanted to delay having another person who wanted to cash out.

meanwhile - they still have my private information.

Same here.
I gave up on them a long time ago.

4189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What kind of an effect will Bing adding BTC converter have on Bitcoin? on: February 11, 2014, 12:52:11 PM
This is actually much bigger news than people understand. We are setting up for a classic battle of ideologies that goes far beyond the scope of just cryptocurrency. Take this however you like, but, this is a world stage event now.

US Senate and Bernanke say bitcoin looks promising
THEN...
China clamps down on exchanges and processors

US-based companies and entrepreneurs start accepting bitcoin
THEN...
Russia outlaws it completely

Apple bans most popular bitcoin apps
THEN...
Microsoft accepts first bitcoin app

You would have to be legally blind to not see this train's headlight coming down the dark tunnel. This is going to be an epic Commies Vs. Patriots or Apple Vs. Microsoft level battle, and it has only just begun. I need to buy some popcorn. In the end, I hope Apple pays for their ignorance, and China and Russia do as well.

I hate Microsoft so much since the release of the original Xbox for an almost limitless number of reasons, the most of which being Halo paraded around in front of PC gamers at E3 2001 only to be ripped from our dreams the next month. However, I can easily say that I hate Apple way more since, well, since they have never been friendly at all to gamers or actual hardware enthusiasts after the release of the Apple IIe.

My overall opinion is let China and Russia and Apple lose a ton of money. They deserve it.

How is China going to lose money?
They are making tons of money by selling miners.

4190  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin really decentralized? Confused by the Mtgox incident on: February 11, 2014, 12:38:54 PM
as we all know that bitcoin was designed to be a decentralized currency. Yet people have pointed out that 50%+ computing power is owned by only few mining pools. It really hits me hard when people still claim bitcoin as a decentralized currency, especially after yesterday's unfortunate Mtgox incident. Yes, Mtgox surely did a bad coding job. But please really think about who were the attackers?

In order for such faked transactions getting included in the blockchain fast enough and "lucky" enough, I assume it must have something to do with those "centralized" groups of people, at least.

Bitcoin is so decentralized that if every human being on earth were suddenly vaporized in a nuclear holocaust except for the guy in the photo above, who currently has .003 bitcoins on his computer, the entire bitcoin ledger would be safe.

Did anyone notice the "outdoor toilet" next to the wooden steps.
There's also toilet paper on the second step  Grin

Now that's getting in touch with nature, don't you think?

4191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Massive 41,700 BTC transaction just happened on: February 11, 2014, 12:27:32 PM
all my savings of my life amount to 4000 dollars and I putthem on bitcoin. Guess there is someone richer Than me in this world.

There will always be someone richer than you unless your name is Rockefeller or Rothschild. Wink

4192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Massive 41,700 BTC transaction just happened on: February 11, 2014, 12:26:40 PM
Somebody's getting ready for a huge dump and I think I know who.

4193  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 open for sale again] The last round before the Chinese New Year on: February 11, 2014, 11:23:24 AM
hmmm..

my new rigs arrived today - shipped on the 8th but not actually shipped until the 10th.

clean, but the boards are dated 2013/12/16

both are mining but lots of hangtime and now i cant ssh into the 1st one (3rd ant) to OC or even just check the murrfurrkurr
Bitmain offers no Pre-order, but pre-mined miners  Wink

I don't mind. At least you get what you paid for within 3-5 days.

4194  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 1THS,1000W, Bitcoin miner coming. on: February 11, 2014, 10:42:15 AM
You can buy 1TH of antminers right now for 7.25 btc.  Granted,  this thing sucks less power,  but not enough for me to order this over the ants.  If this was at 7.25 btc or even slightly higher,  then I would buy this!
this is true, but consider:
- here is included a >1kW PSU, you would need these 2x for Ants
- you get it in a closed, stackable case and need only one LAN
if you add the psus you need, switch, cables you will be at 8 BTC
and you might want to build some sort of case and get a shelf

but i stil will go with Bitmain atm, until this here has prooven real

It is real,
It's also too expensive, and after talking with the seller he told me that there are no discounts at the moment not even for 50+ units.
