4181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: May 14, 2021, 10:35:07 AM
The English Premier League has announced that it has reached an agreement on the sale of TV rights to broadcast matches to Sky Sports, BT Sport, Amazon Prime Video and BBC Sport worth around 5.5 billion euros for the period from 2022 to 2025. The amount corresponds to the previous three-year contract, about 1.83 billion euros per season, and was achieved through a direct contract instead of a public tender.

As a result, the Premier League still tops the list of football leagues when it comes to money from the sale of TV rights.

Mislim, vjerojatno on sve to kuži - al svejedno je baš iritantno pratiti.

Grin
4183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Satoshi set the total supply of bitcoins to 21 Million" is nonsense on: May 14, 2021, 09:53:11 AM
As I understand it, the maximum number of coins is determined by the fact that halving occurs every 210,000 blocks and that mining rewards started at 50 BTC per block. Any change in either of these values would mean a different maximum number of coins. Since both of these parameters are hardcoded into the Bitcoin client by Satoshi, your argument from the title is invalid.

In approximately 120 years when the mining reward reaches 1 satoshi per block, we will have a coin supply of 209999999.99 BTC, which means we'll never actually reach the total supply of 21 million. My guess is that exactly this is why this value isn't defined anywhere in the source code as the maximum number of coins.
4184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion & Betting] Eurovision Song Contest 2021 on: May 14, 2021, 08:13:17 AM
I watched all of them. I liked Manizha's song before and now with the performance, I think it's going to be really powerful, lift you up in a way. Malta definitely interesting, good song, nice beat to it. Serbia seemed dancy, something I personally like. Not sure about the rest, France, Bulgaria, Switzerland getting a lot of talks but they were honestly kinda boring to me. I prefer fun songs so maybe that's just me.
Yes Serbia has a pretty good song IMO but I liked their colored 80's fashion dress in their video clip, and now for their live performance they seem to be dressed all in black while dancing in front of a dark background(with 10kg more Tongue). Where are the colors and the fun of their video? They want to look like opera singers now?
France is the favorite of the bookmakers at the moment but it's highly overvalued IMO, moreover people don't like to spend money to vote for obvious favorites usually.

Yup, Serbia has such a cheerful and upbeat song, but it's rather forgettable, in my opinion. And yes, it looks like they gained at least 10kg each compared to the official music video.  Grin
I know it is not okay to comment on a woman's weight, but it's their choice to show so much skin, so...

Barbara's song "Voila" has that classic French flair (reminiscent of Edith Piaf's "Padam, Padam"). It was time for the French to send a decent song after a series (except for 2018) of bad songs and performances. After listening to all the songs, I felt she had potential (remember the Portuguese song from 2017? ), but I think that this year, considering the overall situation with the Coronavirus pandemic, we need something more optimistic, more cheerful.

4188  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How do I create and design simple website? on: May 13, 2021, 12:27:41 PM
I guess OP is lost in vain. He wants an elegant and responsive design but on wordpress and he isn't capable of doing this by himself.

we do not know this and cannot claim that he is lost in vain. Also, we do not know how much is he capable of. he showed us nothing until now. I know some web designers from the beginning and also they knew nothing, it seemed as if they had no capability. but they still reached some level. So, everyone has their own start.
It's good that he asked for a suggestion here, but he also respects them. I guess he wants to learn, so any suggestion of "hire someone" is missed point in this thread.

As I mentioned before, I am a web developer myself, so this may seem like a conflict of interest, but I support anyone who wants to do something on their own. Hiring someone is not always the correct course of action. That way nobody would ever learn anything. It's about freedom of choice.

@Iron Fist, if you're still reading, please don't hesitate to ask for help when you get stuck. I'm happy to help if I can.
4189  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BTC price VS gambling on: May 13, 2021, 11:14:24 AM
There will be no pint of continuing with bitcoin gambling when bitcoin values in million dollars and transaction fees are in hundreds of dollars.

The same argument was used a few years ago when Bitcoin reached a value of $ 20 k for the first time, and maybe even before that. Nevertheless, many people still use bitcoin for gambling.
And who's to say casinos won't implement LN payments or other sidechain transactions in the future?
4190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread on: May 13, 2021, 10:03:21 AM
It was confirmed that Clément Turpin would referee the Europa League Final between Manchester United and Villarreal on May 26.

Turpin has been an international referee since 2010, and this is the second major UEFA final he has officiated, as he served as fourth official during the 2018 Champions League Final between Real Madrid and Liverpool. Turpin will be assisted by Nicolas Danos and Cyril Gringore. The fourth judge is Slovenian Slavko Vincic, and Francois Letexier will be in the VAR room.

~snip~

Many young people spend their free time playing online games, but when they grow up they realise that they have wasted it. I would advise you to devote part of your free time to self-education, which would further help to stand more firmly on his feet and get a high-paying job that you like. In today's world, you can work online as much as you like.

Online gaming is a popular pastime among many, not just young people. For some, it's an escape from harsh reality, a way to blow off steam and relieve stress, or a way of coping with mental disorders such as anxiety or depression. In the same way that people read books, watch movies, listen to music, or participating in other hobbies for relaxation, many people use video games in the same way.
Although such recreational activities can also become addictive, I still believe that they are not as dangerous as gambling because they rarely include a financial component.

<cut>
Not making things complicated is the more comfortable thing to do.

I think that's the whole point. To deal with gambling addiction, you need to be pushed out of your comfort zone.

izvor: https://www.klix.ba/biznis/u-bih-u-pripremi-nacrt-zakona-kojim-se-zeli-regulisati-trziste-kriptovaluta/210507084

A to je vjerojatno tip of the iceberg sto se nadje

To leave a bad habit (addiction), a gambler must adopt a good habit in their life.

Nicely put. As bad habits generally provide some sort of benefit to your life, it is hard to simply eliminate them. You need to replace a bad habit with a new one that provides a similar benefit.

The worst thing would be to replace one bad habit with another, equally bad or even worse.

As we stay at home more it is inevitable that we will spend more time online, on social media, and online games. Several research studies have demonstrated that online gambling companies have benefited greatly as a consequence of this.

I recently read an article in which Lazaros Gonidis, lecturer in Psychological Methods and Statistics at University of Kent, commented about the risks that gambling addicts might face during the COVID-19 lockdown, as well as the responsibility of operators to protect vulnerable individuals.[1]

Whether you have a history of pathological gambling addiction or just considering gambling for fun, Gonidis has shared some valuable tips for all of us:

  • When you are tempted to gamble online, use that to motivate you to go for a walk or exercise instead.
  • If you decide to gamble, you should keep a record of how much money and time you spend on gambling daily. Studies show that gamblers lose track of how much time and money they spend on gambling.
  • Social distancing should not lead to social isolation, so talk to your friends and peers and discuss your gambling problem with them. Having support can make a big difference.
  • Finding other mental stimulation to keep your mind busy can be very helpful in suppressing thoughts of gambling. If you need to be online then seek out online activities that help you to overcome the urge to gamble.
  • Seek expert advice if you feel your gambling activities are getting out of hand. BeGambleAware.org is a very good place to start.

Does any of these methods work for you? How do you keep a rein on your gambling habits?
