4181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Pro on-chain scaling - Cheaper fees on: September 03, 2020, 05:53:44 AM
I also quote this post for future reference but you didn't mentioned anything what is your thought on that upcoming fork. My opinion is that the same story will be repeated like BSV and now it will be interesting to accumulate to maximize the profit and get more coin through that airdrop.

I followed the first Bcash Civil War quite steadfastly and I can tell you it wasn't profitable for anybody involved. At least not for a long time. The price of BCH days before the BCH/BSV fork was higher than that of BCH + BSV for a long, long time. So while in the long run it could be a profitable endeavor ("could", frankly I'm not sure it will ever be so), you'll need an awful lot of patience in order to experience it.

This time around one of the Civil War generals isn't pretending he is Satoshi, however, so, I dunno, the entire thing looks bad and I wouldn't plan on banking on the split being profitable.
4182  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When Bitcoin Maximalists are Promoting/Shilling an Altcoin on: September 03, 2020, 04:57:12 AM
that is why after 5 years and thousands of tokens we have never seen a single one that is remotely good while we have seen many cryptocurrencies that have had some potential and a handful that were at least decent.

To be fair, Binance Coin (BNB) was quite decent before it moved to its own blockchain as it had an underlying and highly utilized functionality. Thanks to their team possessing relatively decent ethics and good business practices, it became the embodiment of the Ethereum token spirit -- a rare success story of a use case scenario successfully employed.

However, you are otherwise overwhelmingly correct.

Sad really because there were some great ideas on paper and presentation but once these teams collected massive amounts of ICO cash they quickly became lazy and uninterested in seeing their idea through to fruition.

I chalk up the entire DeFi trend to being the newest wave of scams; most of which is Ethereum-based, so your statement remains intact there.
4183  Economy / Reputation / Re: What can I do to remove a neg tag? on: September 03, 2020, 04:44:14 AM
You have 6 "untrusted" negative feedbacks, I have 9.

I have 65, and suchmoon has 126!  Cheesy

Lauda has about 295, possibly more as I accidentally lost count on page 3 for a couple seconds. That is probably the biggest ratio of untrusted-to-trusted reds for a single account.

But in short, OP, if you can't come to an agreement with this person to get your tag removed, I'd say don't worry about it as it is highly unlikely they (in particular) will ever be on DT2.
4184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When Bitcoin Maximalists are Promoting/Shilling an Altcoin on: September 03, 2020, 03:45:49 AM
Reading this thread has been depressing.

Disclaimer: I'm not a maximalist per se but the longer I hang around the more maximalist tendencies I develop.

If this INX token had been any sort of attempt at emulating what Bitcoin does, then sure, it would be a slam dunk, they'd be absolute hypocrites for promoting this.  But, this doesn't appear to be emulating Bitcoin in any way.  It's a different beast entirely.  The project seems to have different goals and a different target audience.

How many of you, over the years, have discussed the potential of blockchain impacting other industries and having different tokens for things like property deeds or other assets?  I don't see any difference between that and this, except that with this, they're actually building it this time.  If you want to pigeon-hole these people and believe that they're only permitted to talk about Bitcoin for the rest of forever while you believe you're still free to discuss the application of blockchain in other places, then maybe the hypocrisy lies with you.  I'd argue it's perfectly permissible to call a shitcoin a shitcoin whilst also still being able to experiment with cryptography in other areas where Bitcoin clearly isn't appropriate to use.

The problem is that the likes of Lopp, Mow and Back have for years found delight in taking massive dumps on Ethereum. A combined hundreds of cheap shots which nobody asked for or were at all necessary. Especially Mow -- pretty much all he ever does is shit on Ethereum and Ethereum-based projects; he's made it a personality trait. By accepting ETH tokens of any sort as payment to shill a project, he's going against everything he's stood for over the last 3 years or so.

This whole debacle is probably the real reason Mow recently stopped letting non-followeds post on his tweets.

Lopp and Mow pigeon-holed themselves: they built a brand around being anti-Ethereum. They're just pretending everything is cool now that they've come out of the hole for the sake of making some quick cash.

Frankly they've lost all respect in my eyes (as well as Back to a certain extent) -- not because they are backing an Ethereum project but because they have been exposed as being utterly full of shit.

I ended up blowing my whole wad at Pornhub.

LOL. Most people do that for free you know.

Hopefully they gave you some special perks, like a free poster or beer coozy.

But on behalf of the rest of us... thanks for supporting the arts.
4186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [EXCHANGE] KuCoin Exchange on: September 02, 2020, 11:25:40 PM

KuCoin has never prevented users from conducting legal transactions. It has always been one of KuCoin's core values to ensure that users are able to conduct safe and stable transactions on the platform.

Well, that's exactly what happened in the instance of the member who wrote the post linked above. You are preventing a team member of the coin deposited on your exchange from withdrawing said coin.

https://wax.bloks.io/account/kaefersproxy#votes
https://twitter.com/kaefergeneral/status/1300016250358300672?s=20

However, KuCoin adopts a zero-tolerance attitude towards illegal and criminal activities including money laundering, fraud, and terrorist financing. We strictly implement anti-money laundering measures and constantly screen and review all suspicious transactions in accordance with the requirements of the laws, regulations and international norms where the platform is located. KuCoin hopes to create a safe and fair trading environment for users while fulfilling its legal obligations.

That's fine but your exchange should be sophisticated enough to recognize that not everybody who deposits coins then immediately wants to withdraw them is a criminal or attempting to engage in money laundering. KuCoin should attempt to be a bit more selective with whom they spring KYC requests on, and for what reasons.

In no case should KYC be used as an excuse to keep customer funds unless those funds have been explicitly linked to a hacking event or theft. You should allow the customer to withdraw the funds to the address which they sent them from, at the very least. Otherwise, it just comes across like you are using KYC as an excuse to steal customer funds.
4187  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING!] kucoin claiming kyc now mandatory demanding ID documents to withdraw on: September 02, 2020, 08:52:23 PM

Depositing and withdrawing funds, without making trades, is a huge AML red flag. Exchanges are basically huge mixers. If you deposit funds into an exchange and withdraw those funds there is no way to trace where the funds are going.

Not a valid excuse to hold somebody's funds without any sort of way to get them back. Exchanges are only decent mixers if they are completely anonymous, like a DEX, and even then there's ways to see who got what, where its been, and where its going. Exchanges that ask for KYC are the exact opposite of mixers.

And of course there's a way to trace where the funds are going, its called blockchain analytics.

It is a valid excuse to hold the funds (according to AML/CFT policies). Chain analysis can't link deposits and withdrawals on exchanges without contacting the exchanges and having them provide the information. This is why similar actions (depositing and withdrawing without making trades) are flagged and will result in having to provide KYC information, as it is a money laundering indication. Exchanges have no other option than to follow the AML/CFT regimes.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not giving my personal opinion here but this is how these policies work. Regulations will only get worse from here. I wouldn't be surprised if they already reported OP's transaction(s) to local authorities (if they know what country he's from).

A "money laundering indication" is not the same thing as money laundering. You do understand that right? What would they report him for what exactly?

Read please, it's not Defi.Trade team.
thanks

Uhh... why would you use fake pictures of these people? Do these people even exist? It seems highly doubtful, but at least you got semi-creative with the Zoe Sutherland name. The other ones have highly generic names so its difficult to assess where you pulled them from, but I'm gonna go ahead and assume your ass.

I mean... you don't even have a team. You don't have a white paper and your "documentation" link just goes to the home page.

How is it a "decentralized exchange"? You offer BTC, BCH, DASH, XMR and ZEC trades... that's all being done in a decentralized manner? Not to mention your forex section... LOL. I'd like to read more about how that is decentralized as well. Tell us all about it here, please, since you don't have a white paper.

KuCoin Weekly Report

Can you please take a moment to respond to accusations regarding with-holding coins from members who have submitted KYC? Thank you.

4190  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING!] kucoin claiming kyc now mandatory demanding ID documents to withdraw on: September 02, 2020, 12:50:28 AM
I did what was suggested by "nutlidah" as shown here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5163269.msg55090441#msg55090441 you can see they ignored it completely and continued on with another advertisement, no PM either, not that I am surprised because they blocked me from livechat I believe due to their inability to communicate properly.

You could be right about their inability to communicate properly, but you kind of started off on the wrong foot with them. You were immediately accusatory and didn't ask for help, only pointed to this accusation.

I know it feels like they have you bent over a barrel but your only option currently is to submit the KYC documents. If I ran an exchange, I wouldn't hold funds over surprise KYC issues, I would let the user withdraw them back to their original address (I know with XMR that's a bit more difficult to prove). But, I'm not an exchange, so you kind of have to do what they say.

If you get to the stage of kaefergeneral where they took your KYC and your coins, then let me know here and I will help you to open a flag against them. That will put up a warning message that is visible to everyone who can see their thread. If company/project cares enough about their reputation on the forum, they will find your accusations worth responding to, potentially helping you to resolve the issue.

As of right now, however, there is more evidence in kaefergeneral's case to warrant a flag or a red tag as they actually underwent the KYC and still haven't received their coins. I will tag the KuCoin Exchange account and point them to this thread to see if they will respond. Gonna give them a couple days to respond to my comment in their thread before tagging them.

4.) But even after I did go through full KYC they are not releasing my funds.

That's not right at all... You should be allowed to withdraw your funds to the address you sent them from, at the very minimum. What I recommend is to post a comment describing your situation in their main thread and see if the KuCoin Exchange account replies to you. They may be able to help you out quite a bit as they were just online today. If that doesn't work, reply back here and I will help you to open a formal scam accusation against them, which might stimulate them into action.

r/btc

This is the worst part of the whole thing... the subreddit is literally named "r/btc" but here you have Ver specifically directing someone to buy BCH... If anybody else did this, they would also be labeled a scammer.

shilling it harder than a Saigon whore.

I had to depart with one merit for this reference as it indicates a Vietnam War era whore as opposed to a modern whore. Because if it were such it would be referred to as a Ho Chi Minh City whore.
4195  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] Tweebaa on: August 31, 2020, 05:31:55 AM
In addition to what OP posted, there is some other plagiarism in the white paper. For instance, most of the Blockchain definition segment is taken from the Wikipedia entry for Blockchain. I think its a bit premature to tag this project at the moment but will definitely be keeping my eye on it as its price action is indeed particularly bizarre (as pointed out by logfiles). As a rule of thumb I assume all new projects are scams but am waiting for just a bit more evidence before taking any action.

My Ignore list is empty. And always will be.
...
I prefer to be exposed to everything and filter it out on-the-fly, on the basis of what is being said, not on the basis of who says it.

That's pretty open-minded of you. I occasionally like to read posts from the Gambling section while in search of knowledge and there's often too much spam that impedes my ability to find the juicy info for which I am looking. This makes maintaining an ignore list a must as sometimes you just know that 99 times out 100 a certain account is going to write something not worth reading. I may miss out on some mildly interesting info from time to time, but that's the price to be paid for expediency.

About a year ago, I copy/pasted a huge Ignore list of mostly sig spammers, tweaking it to my specifications over the months, and it has grown in size to the point where I can no longer open the Ignore List settings in my Profile, LOL. The only way I'll be able to access it again is by manually unignoring at least 50 to 100 users as I come across them, and I don't think that's happening any time soon.

I have only a handful of WO posters on Ignore, and for the most part they stopped posting here, so it works out.
4197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Looking for big lists of leaked bitcoin private keys & addresses on: August 30, 2020, 11:28:18 PM
Ultimately all of the projects above do pretty much the same thing but I recently found this one and it has a nice UI https://privatekeys.space/

keys.lol does the same thing but is more navigable and user friendly.

I hope nobody is stupid enough to enter their private key into this website. If you didn't know, you should never do that.
4198  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] xHumanity: plagiarized whitepaper content on: August 30, 2020, 09:03:15 PM
@nutildah - Anything we have taken from any other source, it is given reference in the Whitepaper. It looks highly scammy in which term? On basis of a randomly opened thread, which seems done by a foolish person having no clue about things and when clearly shown the mirror is saying I would be more careful?

I'm saying much of your website content is plagiarized from other sources, none of which are credited.

For example, this part under Token Distribution has been copy/pasted by a dozen projects, including yours:

Quote
It’s compatibility of the token with third-party services wallets, exchanges etc, and provides easy-to-use integration.

Then pretty much everything under your FAQ has been copy/pasted from other sources. Granted that it is standard language, but I certainly wouldn't invest in a project that can't be bothered to write its own website material. By not generating original content, you're basically saying you don't care about your own project... that it's a short-term thing and you have no long-term vision.

Craig Wright stories are irrelevant here.

Of course they are relevant. Most of the major price movement during BSV's history is due to news-driven items: Craig filing for the copyright to the white paper, a Chinese tweet about bogus evidence confirming Craig is satoshi, the judge reversing the default judgment against Craig -- this is what moves BSV. As it is based on lies, it will all be removed from BSV's market cap value in due time.

A wild shitpost appears. But I mean, it is almost art.

I love president Donald Trump's actions towards achieving Biafra and I pray God should help us to get the freedom without killings and much violence. Those group of people fighting government of Donald Trump will never succeed because that man stand for the side of truth.

There's only one Biafra worth achieving, and he's made out of Jello.
