It doesnt make sense. What do you mean by parts? The red candles? these just represent periods of time depending on how your broker is set (5 min, 10, 1 day... etc)
4182  Economy / Speculation / Re: +$240.. on: January 26, 2015, 10:04:20 PM
Chasers gonna chase.  And if btc has a deadcat bounce... well, just imagine it's not the ordinary cat.  It's highly volatile and very subject to emotions and China and who knows what.   I don't think that any one assignment of blame for the price of btc has ever been entirely accurate... well maybe obvious ones like mtgox but for the most part it's volatile just because.

It is volatile because it is new, uncertain and speculative.

As time goes on, it will be less volatile and used more.

We need insane amounts of users using it daily to get a price that resembles the apparent stability of fiat money. Bitcoin is not rigged as well so its harder to artificially make it more stable which is what fiat govs do.

probably not until all bitcoin are mined or around that time, adoption is a very slow thing, don't expect it even within 3-5 years

It must be before all bitcoins are mined... we cant wait 140 years for bitcoin to be usable, thats insane.
4183  Economy / Economics / Re: Gold and Bitcoin: Both (prices) are up, but what's next? on: January 26, 2015, 09:59:01 PM
Some of the alts should crash a bit as Bitcoin goes up, then the alts will follow up up as well after a while.
4184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is dead! RIP 1/25/15 on: January 26, 2015, 09:56:31 PM
The blockchain will exist as long as internet and electricity (humanity) exists so stop mentally masturbating about it, Bitcoin will survive and shape itself into whatever its needed to survive.
4185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Winkelvosse Twins were just on CNBC on: January 26, 2015, 09:54:14 PM
Can anyone reup to youtube?
I know the blockchain cant be hacked ,but what did they say about the actual security of the exchange?
4186  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can I hold a short position for months or years ? on: January 26, 2015, 02:45:20 AM
Dunno if this has been asked but what are you holding against? if you hold against an altcoin, the altcoin has big % of crashing and dissapearing from the exchange, unless you are putting in in the couple ones that are worth long time , and still a big risk.
4187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2015 The Year of The Litecoin on: January 26, 2015, 02:41:45 AM
LTC = Silver

Last time I checked silver is still around.

I hope this is how most people are viewing it. it has potential, but who knows what will happen. the only people that are spooked right now are the day traders who were looking to make a quick buck and got burned in the short term.
4188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2015 NOT The Year of The Litecoin on: January 26, 2015, 02:33:59 AM
Not really. Why? Because I don't "invest" more money than I can afford to lose. If it crashes, I lost some money, but no big deal. I'm not broken, it doesn't hurt. And if it goes to the moon, I'm not rich, because I didn't "invest" enough in the past, but I'd still get a nice amount of money. I think LiteCoin has potential as "the silver" of crypto once cryptos go mainstream, that's why I started at first place.
4189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: McDonald's accepting Bitcoins (not really) on: January 26, 2015, 02:20:27 AM
I ALMOST got excited. This coupled with the NYSE and Winklevoss and Gates news would do for an epic rally.
4190  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is "Variety Jones"? on: January 26, 2015, 02:16:25 AM
Lmao, gotta give it to the man, "Variety Jones" sounds so smooth, cool nickname, would be a good character in a tarantino movie.
4191  Economy / Speculation / Re: MAJOR Bitcoin rally on: January 26, 2015, 02:07:33 AM
We'll, NYSE, Gemini, Bill Gates saying BTC is better than currency... the stars are aligning, so we might as well see a nice little rally going on. Maybe 154 was bottom time?
4192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: briefcase full of cash on: January 26, 2015, 02:05:13 AM
Localbitcoins buying smaller amounts since I doubt anyone would do that much at once. Depending on your location you might have to contend with their laws on money transmitting. An attorney might help there.

Beware of advice on here of course because the law varies and I dobt anyone knows them all.  I'd also make clear this might be hypothetical.

 Smiley
Well apparently you can get your ass wooped in LocalBitcoins.
What I would do is buy small amounts of Bitcoins in a long period of time to not raise any eyebrows.
4193  Other / Politics & Society / Re: New police radars can 'see' inside homes on: January 25, 2015, 03:29:57 PM
Well apparently there are raids happening within localbitcoins, and some guy commented on how he was carrying his trezor on his car and the police took his trezor full of bitcoins. We are heading towards an orwelian state.
4194  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to reach $260 by the end of the day ! on: January 25, 2015, 03:19:42 PM
#tothemoon  Grin

4195  Economy / Economics / Re: Who control our bitcoins? WE do!! ☆ BANK RUN ☆ on: January 25, 2015, 02:41:39 PM
Keep your bitcoins on exchanges for short durations only. The probability that the exchange would go belly up in that short duration is much lower.
Choose safety over convenience.  Smiley
I keep hearing this, but how in the f*k are you supossed to do daytrading if you can't keep your bitcoin in exchanges for long periods of time?
4196  Economy / Economics / Re: How can I make my BTC work instead of HODLing them? on: January 25, 2015, 02:37:37 PM
The only way I know to make exponential gains is in altcoins. But you need inside information and you probably just end up dumping on someone else's head. The only honest way is gambling. My vote is HODL for now

You don't make more bitcoin holding, you make more dollars, and I dont want more dollars, I want more bitcoins, so I need ideas Smiley
4197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm fucking out. bitcoin will be over soon..confirmed. on: January 25, 2015, 02:36:41 PM

Now back to my original problem with bitcoin volatility.

I Love Bitcoin’s Volatility

http://nakamotoinstitute.org/mempool/i-love-bitcoins-volatility/
Bitcoin is supposed to be a currency not a stock.

It could be a stock or a store of value.

The beauty of bitcoin is, it can be a stock, a currency of value or a currency. 3 in one baby.
4198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BurtW arrested on: January 25, 2015, 02:35:32 PM
So wait, not even LocalBitcoins is safe anymore? well fuck, I guess we need p2p exchanges more than ever.
4199  Economy / Speculation / Re: Let's talk about the price! - Official Whaleclub teamspeak topic. on: January 24, 2015, 04:23:51 PM
The name is misleading, it sounds like a private club of whales only to plan market moving strategies lol
4200  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think Ponzi affect the price of bitcoin ? on: January 24, 2015, 04:22:28 PM
We need to kickstart a time machine with Bitcoin to find Carlo Pietro Giovanni Guglielmo Tebaldo Ponzi, bring him back to the future and ask him what does he think of Bitcoin. Then and only then, we will be able to find out if Bitcoin is a Ponzi scheme or not.
