what gain are these faucet sites getting from giving out coins?

Judging by the number which shut down or run empty...  not much.

Can you add www.clansofalluna.tk to the list op?
It´s a free browser game where you can buy extra gold for bitcoin.
Also everyone can donate in BTC Smiley

In what way are you giving out free bitcoins?
4184  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Free Bitcoins Listing on: September 13, 2012, 09:03:38 PM
Thanks for making this listing and for keeping it updated!  As a newbie (obviously) it's really helped me get a few bit pennies and motivated me to learn more about Bitcoin.  The hourly Daily Bitcoins site is really impressive but all of the sites are appreciated and I've learned a lot!  Thanks!

Just wondering, did you bunny come in first, second, or third/fourth?

My pick has been in last place every time I have tried it.

It's not a 1 in 4 chance to win is it?  I mean it is probably determined whether one will get the higher prize or the basic payout even before they pick a bunny, right?
No matter... as long as the site payouts at least that 0.00005 BTC for everyone that plays is what is important I suppose.    Undecided

The chance is actually 1 in 4 to get in first and get 0.0003 BTC
and 1 in 4 to get in second and get 0.0001 BTC
which leaves 2 in 4 to come 3rd/4th and get the lowest price.

Stats so far:
1st, 25.0%
2nd, 28.1%
3rd/4th, 46,9%

You will probably be able to extract the same data if you check the blockexplorer.  Wink
I pasted the txid here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=108834.msg1188679#msg1188679

Thanks for the explanation. I will add this to the OP when I get a little more time later.

Coinad seems to have reduced their base payout from 0.0003 to 0.0001.

Good number Jermainé. Did you know that people think in certain ranges when they really have to go random? Everyone has a reason behind their thinking, do you?  Roll Eyes

What I would like to know is why are people allowed to revive the usernames of members who have been banned, like the name "Atlas" ?

I see the potential for not only confusion but abuse.     Huh
Atlas was let back in by the admins.

And Immanuel Go as well?     Undecided

I agree that Armory and OT should be on the list.

OT may not be limited to Bitcoin transactions but I see it as becoming very important for the Bitcoin economy.

/edit  Namecoin may have that potential as well as OT but I haven't seen much happening with it lately.

Nice... We have a winner ladies and gentlemen.

Congrats fooBaer
Post an address to claim your price.

You can edit your the post title, if you want, to say that there is a winner so people don't keep coming here and submitting guesses.

Gratz to FooBaer and good work Jermainé and paraipan.

If you, and some others, had any self-respect you would withdraw your guess is what I am talking about.   Tongue

I don't get you very well, meh.

It isn't a big deal... it is just kinda like watching older teenagers going out trick-or-treating on Halloween... just kind of a pathetic display.
Only in this case it isn't an age thing but an experience-with-Bitcoin kinda thing.

I double the prize offered by OP (0.2btc) and withdraw my guess. Curious about the number here

That's more like it.  Thanks.

Read the OP again.  All you non-newbs should be ashamed in taking part in this.   Tongue

DailyBtc free scratch-off added to the OP.

You can do the scratch-off for free without needing to enter the lottery.

Just enter your BTC address and then press 'Get Ticket' and then click and drag your mouse over the scratch-off box.
If three of the amounts displayed there are the same then that amount will be sent to your address without you needing to do anything more.
