4181  Other / Archival / Re: Referral URL Service on: October 13, 2017, 08:48:00 PM
IIRC, this is allowed and you can post your thread in the Services section. I've seen quite a few threads similar to your idea come up before so I assume they are allowed.

To anyone: Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
4182  Other / Meta / Re: Signature formatting checker on: October 13, 2017, 08:45:14 PM
( I assume some sig. creators wrote their own scrip for checking the code ... but why would they share it right?).
That's quite improbable. It's far simpler to just create and edit a signature design within a reply and to preview it. That way once you're in the design space all you have to do to check on the updates is just a quick ALT + P.
4183  Other / Meta / Re: Hacked my account on: October 12, 2017, 12:11:05 PM
Coinbase doesn't send bitcoins from the address i have with them, only i can receive bitcoins.
You're right. My mistake. Then simply insert (somewhere) on your github the fact that your main account has been hacked and at the very least DT members can give a warranted red tag to the account while you try to recover it.
Both threads are archived.

4184  Other / Meta / Re: What are Max character signature limits per rank? Help! on: October 12, 2017, 11:53:18 AM
The max is capped at 4K for all members, hence why even though it says unlimited on the old system it's just the highest you can have. Be smart about your BBCode. Limitation breeds creativity.  Cool
I tried to search for the original reason for the restriction but couldn't find anything (maybe didn't look hard enough, but went through entire search history of signature + character in meta). The presumable reason most had was to keep the signature short AFAICT.
4185  Other / Meta / Re: Hacked my account on: October 12, 2017, 11:47:35 AM
https://archive.is/j7CHF
Archived.

You can send some amount of bitcoin to a new address and then sign a message from there. That's probably the easiest verifiable way to check that you're the real owner. Make sure you declare the amount of BTC before you send it on this thread though, just in case.
IIRC Coinbase used to allow message signing up until some time this year (no idea why).

4187  Other / Meta / Re: hilariousandco is contradicting himself ? on: October 10, 2017, 08:15:42 PM
Does it also affect the potential activity of a member like if someone has a single post in an activity period and the thread got trashcan by mods?
If your post is gone then your activity is gone. I've already commented about this in my post above (#19). That's why deleting posts would be a good deterrent to preventing people from lifting the spam megathreads up, so that you can punish spammers for making generic shitty replies.
4188  Other / Meta / Re: hilariousandco is contradicting himself ? on: October 10, 2017, 08:04:54 PM
I'm also not in favor of trashcan if the topic already has more than 100 replies. It can be moved to Archival if a moderator thinks that the topic is spam and it should be stopped.
Archival does not reduce post count, thus spammers will continue posting their bullshit as usual. Therefore, your suggestion is horrible.
Right. There should be consequences if you're to spam: any posts in insubstantial threads should be considered null and any activity associated with that should be much of the same. That way, you'll be able to curb a lot of spam because then farmers will find that they'll have to make genuine replies on real threads that don't have scores of pages of replies.
4189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO][BKB] BetKing Bankroll Token - Tokens distributed to your account on: October 10, 2017, 11:18:10 AM
So how does the 10% buy-back work if we want to do that?
You have to deposit 10x what you want to sell to BetKing to your BetKing.io account before December 4th. Then, you'll have the option to sell 10% of your deposit. You can pick the currency you want to receive from the BKB sale.
4190  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is it possible to withdraw negative feedback once matter has been resolved? on: October 10, 2017, 01:02:08 AM
I'm genuinely worried that now I'll be withdrawn from various bounty campaigns, serious financial consequences.
If your financial life is reliant on bounty campaigns, then you're an idiot and should not have access to those to begin with. As always, the rating is a consequence of your own actions.
Especially considering that OP is in the UK, this is surprising. Is it that difficult to get a minimum-wage job at a McDonalds, which would earn you more money than if you were to drivel away in signature campaigns? Have some dignity. You're in a first-world country, not Madagascar.
4191  Economy / Reputation / Re: why i'm still in negative trust on: October 10, 2017, 12:55:51 AM
It looks like, asking from member who gave negative trust is only soultion in this situation.
Yeah. We didn't need to see another comment about it.

I cant understand why trust is out of mod's control till today.
To avoid centralization and allow it so that mods don't have complete and utter control. Single point of failure.

If there is no regulation on forum, how is that possible  dark trust member can give negative trust to other forum member for the reason like untrustworthy behaviour?
I can't comprehend what you're trying to say here. There is regulation on the forum and DT[1,2] members can give out impactful trust because it would (generally) prevent ignorant newbies from being scammed.
4192  Economy / Gambling / Re: BetKing.io Relaunched! 25% rakeback. BTC, ETH, LTC DICE on: October 10, 2017, 12:36:51 AM
Hi dev, I wanted to ask you about the old bounties, do we get the reward from it in near future?
If you're referring to the twitter, bug and other bounties then they will be paid soon. Dean is planning on getting that done in the future as you can see from this quote:

We will be listed on an exchange next week Smiley

You can withdraw BKB to your OWN ethereum wallets (don't send to an exchange).

Also paid latest bounty batch for translators and signature bounties. If you did not receive payment it's because you did not follow instructions.
PM me on here AND pm me on https://betking.io chat.

Remember your old bounty site login won't work on https://betking.io

Lastly, don't message about blog, bug or twitter bounties yet. I will announce claim details when it is time to pay those.

Thanks
4193  Other / Meta / Re: It sucks being a Newbie on: October 09, 2017, 05:19:39 PM
And... that doesn't really affect your forum use by more than 10% I'd hope. You can't really be reliant on all the 'wonderful features' you're missing out on.

It used to be worse, with a newbie jail. Be glad that you don't have to deal with that (though it should really be implemented to curb spam/scams to the wall).
And you're only stuck as a newbie for 4 weeks, max. Think about how activity works.

If you're on the first day of an activity period when you register, 2 weeks later you'll be in your second and another 2 weeks later you'll be in your third. Hence, Jr. Member.

If you're on the last day of an activity period when you register, 1 day later you'll be in your second and 2 weeks later you'll be in your third. Hence, Jr. Member. In 2 weeks.
4194  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: nitrogen sports is a scam on: October 09, 2017, 05:08:20 PM
i dont Know why users pay for gambling site you will waste your money .
Isn't that the point of gambling? Wagering money to potentially win more? We're all aware of the house edge (or at least the smart ones are) yet despite it can feel like we can win against the house. It's just how it is. Unless you are considering poker or other skill-based games with gambling involved in them, people simply feel lucky.

are you listen some one be rich from gambling
?
Neither of these quotes are relevant to the thread.
4195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO][BKB] BetKing Bankroll Token - Tokens distributed to your account on: October 09, 2017, 02:04:44 AM
I think there was a plan to add this to the exchanges. But what if I decided to keep the token? Would that consider me a stakeholder and should be enjoying some "privileges" as those who invested in the token? Just want to clarify.
Token-holders are not stakeholders and will not have an effect upon BetKing's development. However, you are given the opportunity to liquidate the tokens at the token price each quarter. If you deposit a given amount of BKB tokens to your BetKing.io site then Dean will allow the buyback of 10% of the deposit.
4196  Economy / Gambling / Re: Nitrogen Sports ⚾ MLB Postseason ⭐ Free Bets Available ⚾ The Future of Betting on: October 09, 2017, 02:03:12 AM
Nitrogen is holding 2.0 btc hostage. Claiming I "multi-account" to get around their betting limits and take advantage of affiliate progam.

Probably an IP conflict with tor nodes but silly because I bet no more than .02-.06 on American Football games, and am not apart of their affiliate program

Pretty absurd for an "annyomous" book.  Posting here because they ignore all support and ban in chat.

Wanted to share my experience and inconvenience.

EDIT: Appears to be resolved

Thanks for the update! Good luck!
This response confuses me. Are you sure that you and debtcoll are on the same page?
'Good luck'?
4197  Economy / Gambling / Re: BetKing.io Relaunched! 25% rakeback. BTC, ETH, LTC DICE on: October 09, 2017, 01:57:07 AM
Can I just keep tokens on Betking indefinitely?
Absolutely. You can keep them on BetKing as a store (or withdraw them to your wallet if you wish). This would also make it easier for you to sell back to BetKing during the buyback periods, since you wouldn't have to send the tokens to and fro. (Reminder that 10x your buyback amount has to be on BetKing before the buyback date)
4198  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk.org Rules on: October 09, 2017, 01:44:53 AM
Rules were imposed but they were not defined in a list. If you look around, you'll find a lot of instances where theymos had created a thread in which he posts a new regulation that is to be followed: eg. altcoin giveaways, doxxing hence why the mprep thread is named the "Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules [...]"

Rules were set in place before 2013, obviously.

The policy to not remove anything worked when the forum was small. Now that we have thousands of posts a day, we can't afford 50% of them being junk. The moderators are now instructed to be less tolerant of low-value posts.

Some guidelines:

1. Free speech - you can say anything as long as it is relevant and presented in a calm and polite manner. Swearing, SHOUTING etc. make your post more likely to be removed.
2. No zero value posts or threads, like "SELL SELL SELL"
3. No pointless or uninteresting threads.
4. No referral code spam
5. No NSFW content

All you have to do is look around. mprep details sources in his 1st post.
4199  Other / Meta / Re: How are certain rules enforced? on: October 09, 2017, 01:40:23 AM
The gap between the rule-breaking and bans are simply because of how humans work. Mods aren't machines and they can't monitor posts as they come out. For copying and pasting, users would be confused because the ban came out of nowhere with no explanation - if they're copying and pasting in the first place I wouldn't think that they would realize it was the problem. Or if they did then they wouldn't have made a thread about it: think of it like survivor bias.
In terms of insubstantial posting, that is through many reports of the same user [IIRC] and thus the ban is set out some time after the postings have been made.

Most of the threads come down to the fact that the user creating them doesn't fully comprehend the rules and isn't aware of the fact that spam is bad.
