Yes, investing for the long term in altcoins is a very good idea, but you need firstly to choose carefully this altcoins, because there are few number of stable and promising coins among a big list of shitcoins. I even believe that people will invest more nowadays in altcoins because BTC price is very high.

Then Facebook is also a good tool but advertising there is harder because you need to post in the related groups and so on.

Mining nowadays is very expensive and its almost worthless, especially if you re looking to mine Bitcoin, unless you have very cheap electricity. My suggestion is buying BTC and ETH and some other valuable coins and tokens with this amount, despite its considered small.
