421  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open on: July 08, 2013, 07:31:43 PM
Anyone know if safe to order with CC and site didnt use encrypted?

I also have the same concern

Apologies for the non professional non-ssl screwup.  I'm in the process of getting this done right now.  Meantime, message me if you want set up a more secure way to send cc info and I'll process the payment directly.

You can order with bank transfer now to lock up your spot in queue.

Dave.. Messaged you with regards to paying through CC.
waiting for your reply.

Dave. How about the warranty.? does these miners carry any warranty.
I see that tytus mentioned that 100TH gets 4 year warranty here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=140366.0

Is it the same for us or something different.
Thanks,

I was looking at something a bit more elegant like a copy- paste ready text block with the sale/ buy details.
Will try to add a gif as well with the URL params.
I assume that this one will be static and only reflect the price and the increase/ decrease amount and quantity? If static, then why use URL params? Why not just embed the text onto am image and allow that to be linked? Simpler no?

No. It should not be static. If we want static price, then there is no need to go all the way to add an image. Just write it in text (in bold).
Usually when a seller list in the marketplace, he / she would be creating the listing in terms of btc (with rates obviously at a little higher / lower than the current market rate).
As and when the rate fluctuates, the price in the listing should be updated to accomodate the same rather than editing the post everytime the rate changes.

Something similar to localbitcoins. When creating an add, how we can quote the rates at (mtgox*1.1).

The same applies to buyers as well. I have seen a few bitcoin image pricing generator sites but none of them has this feature.

Now I get it. Will try to get a fix on it.

Great.! Thank you sir.!

Thanks for this Wink
But there's a small difference in yours and xe.com's USD/INR rate.
http://preev.com/btc/inr  it's showing correct.

I think preev uses Mt Gox. That should be an option in some time.

Key aim was to add the percentage increaser/ decreaser.

As everyone knows, am a big Coinbase fan, hence they came first.

Benson - Another feature request from my end would be for the btc traders on the forum to be able add an image with the current rate (like the auction timer) with the percent increase / decrease sent as a parameter in the URL.

That would greatly help the bitcoin exchange on the forums.

example :
1) [ img ] coinsecure.in/todayinr.gif?conv=1.1 [ / img ] <-- This would show the rates as an image with 10% increase.
2) [ img ] coinsecure.in/todayinr.gif?conv=0.9 [ / img ] <-- This would show the rates as an image with 10% decrease.

Can you gimme a live link to that auction timer gif?

Here you go. Just change the End time in the URL to change the countdown.
https://www.onnit.com/emails/_modules/timer/?end=2013-07-8+18:00:00&dark=1

P.S : Dark and light are the themes. If i remember correctly, the timer is in GMT.

Also, here is the reference article to php on how to accomplish that

For those who use Coinbase rates, here is a quick calculator for calculating in INR.

http://coinsecure.in/

It is a Work in Progress and many features will be added over the next few weeks and months to make the app more global. Other Exchange price rates will also be added to accommodate other price rate users.

  • Please enter the number of BTC and the Percentage of increase or decrease (ie, -10 or 10).
  • Please do not use the '%" symbol.
  • Results will be displayed in the pricebar at the bottom of the application.
  • The Currency prices are taken from Coinbase and may have a 5 - 10 minute delay.

Please do provide feedback and suggestions. Any other currency requests will also be looked into.

Any updates will be entered in the next thread.

Good one Benson. Much needed one for the community.
Thanks
428  Local / Marketplace (India) / Re: Selling BTC's - Regular Exchange on: July 08, 2013, 11:34:42 AM
dont buy now, it may drop again  soon, then buy

Probably but probably not because mtgox is supposed to start accepting dwolla again sometime this week or sometime soon. Arbitrators and other day traders in USA are waiting for that to happen. I know it personally as most of my friends are. Once it does, you know the story.

Secondly, ASICMINER blades are supposed to go on sale again this week and ASICMINER accepts only btc as payment. So there will be a lot more demand for btc's in the upcoming weeks to buy the hardware as well as the shares.

434  Local / Marketplace (India) / ## Buy /Sell BTC, LTC, ETH and Ripple for ICICI / NEFT - Now Buying ## on: July 08, 2013, 01:16:57 AM
Hey All,

bitcoin seems to be in the upward trend again. Why not make some quick cash out of it.?
I have funds readily available in few exchanges. Am willing to buy btc / ltc and sell them to you.

Or if you have BTC / LTC that you want to sell, i can buy them from you through ICICI Fund transfer / NEFT / IMPS.

Payment Method :

New Customers : ICICI Cash Deposit, NEFT upon receipt of verification documents / PAN Card.

Old / Regular Customers : Cash Deposit / NEFT.

Pricing :

Below rates are provided (if any) are merely an indicative price only. PM me or email me at americandesi4btc @ gmail.com for exact pricing before initiating the transaction.
Special pricing available for return / verified customers.

All prices provided in this thread or through PM during transaction will be valid for up to 4 hours after which the quote will be null and void. So to be safe, please contact me for exact pricing just before initiating the transaction.
435  Local / India / Problems that we foresee when using NEFT / RTGS / IMPS on: July 05, 2013, 04:47:26 PM
Hello All,

I wanted to start a thread to discuss the views on whether NEFT / RTGS or any other RBI approved fund transfer method is safe to use during bitcoin trade.

Some of the issues that come to my mind are outlined below. Please feel free to discuss and give your thoughts. If i have left out any issues that you or someone whom you know has faced in the past, then throw it out here for discussion.

1) NEFT / RTGS transaction can be reversed by the originating person.

I did some research and skimmed through the RBI guidelines and found that before the amount is debited back from the beneficiary's account, the beneficiary's bank will have to take an authorization from the beneficiary. As per the RBI Guidelines, it is against the law to debit his account without his / her authorization eventhough the originating bank has made a request.

This is one of the reason, RBI advice banks to do a maker-taker check which includes parameter match like Name, Account Number, IFSC Code and the Branch before processing the transfer. This has been put in place as reversing the transaction is difficult if the amount is credited to a wrong account.

If this is the process, then doesn't this make NEFT and RTGS safe against reversing of transfers.?

2) NEFT / RTGS can be sent from a Hacked or a compromised account.
This is again a completely different story, though some of the banks have 2FA, there is some possibility that a transfer is made through a hacked account.
Again, this risk is implied when using any payment gateway.

So any thoughts / expert advise on why we cannot rely on NEFT / RTGS fund transfer for BTC trade.?

437  Local / India / Re: Bitcoin Speculation will it reach $50/- on: July 05, 2013, 04:14:31 AM
well i cashed out my BTC at around 98 or so and bought it back when it reached 73 or so on BTC e.. i think the low this bubble would be around 60 USD so i bought AM shares with my BTC when the flash crash happened.. even if BTC goes to less than 60 i wont be loosing out much coz price per AM share is usually increasin.. What do you guys think about this strategy??

I would not expect 60. With Gox's withdrawal problem being fixed and maybe even improved, am sure it will pick up quite soon.

I second this thought..! People who use other exchanges like campbx etc through Dwolla were waiting for mtgox to get themselves msb registered.
Now that they are done with it. Feds will have to release the funds of mtgox held in dwolla and un-freeze their accounts.

So probably they should be done with those procedures in the next couple of weeks after which people trading btc's start their arbitrage...
I feel it will be back in 100's by aug.!

Congrats mate.! All the best.!
Also, a word of caution. Don't give out your address / facebook profile / linkedprofile / Full name / or any other detail from which anybody can find you.
I have heard quite a few incident wherein the house of the ASIC owner was broken into to steal the ASIC.!

hello, I am currently looking at a pool to mine with. will my lowly 5gh/s mean that I would be better off in a smaller pool? the mining pool list post rates you highly, I kinda dived into slush's pool for the sake of getting it going, what is better for me as a miner that justifies the extra 1% in fees??

This is a PPS pool. It doesnot matter what your hashrate is.
You get paid for the submitted shares.
