That chart is great.  I don't want to quote it for obvious reasons Tongue

Does anyone know of a site that keeps a chart like that updated with the most recent bitcoin news?  I would be very interested in seeing that.  Sometimes news seems to have a large effect, sometimes no effect at all.
425  Economy / Marketplace / Re: I am lucky guy! Bitcoin made me rich! {bitcoin roulette experience} on: May 26, 2015, 06:54:03 PM
OMG!  I have to go gamble right away and win money too!

Ok in all seriousness I strongly urge people to be careful when gambling.  It can be fun but make sure you limit your losses.  I look at it as entertainment, not investment.  So if I want to gamble I would give myself a reasonable budget like $10, and when that is gone I am done.  Numbers don't lie and most people will lose money in the long run.  Be careful guys!

About offline storage, the trezor is excellent but also expensive.  Ledger is cheaper and makes two models that are basically the exact same thing, but one is snazzier looking.  The less snazzy one is much cheaper, but personally I would get the more expensive one.  I tend to break things and the expensive one looks much more robust.

The ledger is supposed to be less secure than the trezor, but from what I understand the only downside is that it can be vulnerable to malware during installation.  So make sure your machine is clean.  But to be honest I didn't do much research, so if you have questions then ask the company.  I believe they are active on these boards.  Here is a link to Ledger and Trezor for convenience:

https://www.ledgerwallet.com/

https://www.bitcointrezor.com/

I believe both are available from third party retailers like amazon and ebay.
426  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many friends did you recommend bitcoin to? Did they accept it? on: May 26, 2015, 06:39:16 PM
I stopped trying to introduce it to friends.  Most of the time they are concerned that I am getting scammed.  I tell them what it is but they won't listen!  SOme of my tech savvy friends have heard of it, those ones usually just shrug and say something like "so you got some bitcoins?  Cool."

And two of them already have bitcoins, that is when I seriously get my nerd on.
427  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Why are there no legitimate HYIPs? on: May 26, 2015, 04:08:00 AM
I must admit the title of this thread made me do a double take.  The problem is that in order to make the kinds of returns promised by hyip, you have to work hard.  Its perhaps possible to earn these returns sometimes, but your average person will not have the skills needed.  Most of the good investments such as hedge funds require a lot of money to join.

So I guess it depends on your capital and your risk tolerance.  Generally speaking the higher the return, the more risk you will face.
428  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Casualty List on: May 26, 2015, 03:23:08 AM
This list is not alarming for me at all.  Any business sector will have its share of winners and losers.  It is inevitable.

BTW, isn't butterfly labs still open for business?  After what they did I will never buy anything from them, but I thought they were still around.
429  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Safe investment to get 6%/year (10-20k, possible long term. Important - safety) on: May 26, 2015, 03:17:17 AM
Hey guys,  how are you?
What is in your opinion best place put bitcoin/cash in order to get stable >6%/year interest?  Requirements :
1) safe,  though a little risk is acceptable  (no gambling,  shady  sites,  risky loans,  mining etc. )
2) stable 6%/year interest (for 1-10years)

ATM thinking of lending to marginal traders buy bitcoin value fluctuates and that's kind of spoky for a long term investment.  Me not a trader so have to look for ideas Smiley any help?  Thanks guys!

Thanks eric I will check out your site for sure.

To the OP, so far I like hasnest best.  I feel that because they make the equipment themselves (bitmain) they are perhaps a little safer.  But I don't know of any risk free investments.  Its HARD to get a % nowadays, you are better off with trying for capital gains.  However the fed will be lowering interest soon, so stocks should go down when that happens.  We live in interesting times.
