421  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will you sell? on: August 09, 2014, 08:32:14 AM
Sell?

Don't you mean "spend"?

That nuance seems to be lost a lot of the time.

Yes i should have put that in OP, what i really mean is when will you start to use your coins, spend, sell or whatever you have planned. Lots of people are just hording its seems and i was interested what the fiat value of btc would have to be before they use their bitcoins.

Well, if we are talking about spending Bitcoins then I am already doing it. Not in any significant matter but I'm using it to buy some smaller stuff online.

Any of you watch Turkish teams? Beşiktaş is great this year. They passed Feyenoord in CL qualifications but they have no chance in drawings. They found the best team again, Arsenal. It's very hard to eliminate Arsenal, probably they move on to Europa League. Today in friendly they won against both Fenerbahçe and Chelsea 1-0. Matches were 45 minutes, it was for helping Soma incident.

I like Besiktas because I am Croatian and their manager is Slaven Bilic. Are you big Besiktas fan? What's your opinion on Bilic?

Anyone else thinks ronaldo di nazaraio was the best ever?

I agree with you. He was the best striker ever. Too bad he had all those problems with his knees.

I liked the fat Ronaldo. Much more likeable than the current greaseball look-at-me Ronaldo.

Remember fondly the goal past Kahn on the rebound. Showed some proper poaching instinct.

I've always enjoyed his dribbling and finishing, he was way much more joyfull to watch compared to today's players. And he would never dive in tackles, he was always trying to outrun the defenders and score, straight forward!
424  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Satoshi will ever spend his bitcoins? on: August 08, 2014, 10:08:29 PM
So, do you think Satoshi will ever spend his bitcoins?
You can only answer with Yes or No on the poll. Got it?

This is going to be very interesting to see the results.
The reason there isn't a "maybe" is so that we can get a definite answer.

Satoshi will spend his coins when he becomes world's first trillionaire with his 1M+ Bitcoins. It requires 1BTC = $1M.

I have a statistical explanation why 1BTC may equal 1M USD in future...

Value of 1BTC (around figure)

2009 => 10-2 USD
2010 => 10-1 USD
2011 => 100 USD
2012 => 101 USD
2013 => 102 USD
2014 => 103 USD
2015 => 104 USD
2016 => 105 USD
2017 => 106 USD

--- Early Adoption Ends Here and The Price Stabilizes ---

I don't think that rise will be so strong. Even the most of 2014 price hasn't been that close to 1k$

Is anybody watching Ligue 1? Did you see what has Zlatan missed? I just can't believe that he can miss penalty and empty goal in one match. Despite that he has scored two goals.

433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ARGENTINA COULD BE THE 1ST COUNTRY USING BITCOIN AS OFFICIAL CURRENCY on: August 08, 2014, 04:00:26 PM
Of course, it already did once. But let's stay positive Smiley

The effect of rumours is usually short term. So to that extent, it gets reversed when the rumours are proved false.

Sure, but people who are good at trading Bitcoins can use that rumor to earn some extra BTC on it.

Why does everybody think that BTC will reach 10k$ in next big raise?
436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many addresses do you think the average bitcoin user has? on: August 08, 2014, 12:47:19 PM
If you include all the addresses I had on various exchanges, I have probably used at least 250-300.

Well I didn't count my addresses on exchange sites because I don't consider them part of my wallet.

I suppose that's true since the address might be yours, but the wallet still belongs to the exchange. I would still technically consider them as my BTC addresses. Without them I would say I used roughly 100+ addresses.

You've got that right. It could be considered your address in exchange's wallet.

No matter how much security an exchange offers, it always makes me uneasy keeping my coins there for an extended period of time. Nothing beats having your own wallet.

I used to think that too. That is, until I entered the world of altcoin trading. Compared to setting up wallets, it is so much more convenient to just have the coins sitting there on an exchange. Especially if you are a speculator. I know it's not good security-wise, but I can understand why exchanges are such a popular place to store one's own coins.

Well sure, it is easier to  keep altcoins on exchange site instead installing wallet for each of them especially if you trade multiple altcoins but we are talking about Bitcoin storage. Let me ask you one question: when you turn profit from trading altcoins do you exchange that profit for BTC?

439  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ARGENTINA COULD BE THE 1ST COUNTRY USING BITCOIN AS OFFICIAL CURRENCY on: August 08, 2014, 02:16:59 AM
why dont they use the US dollar first right?

since adopting US dollar is easier just like in the zimbabwe

but if they really use bitcoin as their country currency, i can foresee bitcoin price shoot pass 10,000 dollar each

It is quite possible that some people in Argentina are stashing up with Bitcoins and now are trying to encourage someone in their government to make it official there because they are aware of fact that they can earn lot of fiat and they are trying to exploit situation there.

Stashing up bitcoins/dollars is what I expect everybody in Argentina is doing now. Tongue

That's what I would do. Even just rumors can make Bitcoin price jump. We will wait and see. It seems like that's whole point of Bitcoin right now Cheesy

Rumours (like China banning bitcoin) can drive prices down as well.  Cheesy

Of course, it already did once. But let's stay positive Smiley
440  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Satoshi will ever spend his bitcoins? on: August 08, 2014, 12:46:10 AM
No, because he forget where he put his wallet..

Now, wouldn't that be ironic if he lost his private keys to that wallet... Its happened many many times before..

Have you ever considered that Bitcoin was created by an advanced species of artificial intelligence who submitted the code to planet earth via long range satelite in an attempt to destabilize the ruling elite and develop a digital economy in advance of its colonization team traveling here now?

In that scenario, the coins would be spent after they acquire a value that would allow for global acquisitions and economic assimilation just slightly before landing.

Whoa, this is something totally different. I like it Cheesy
