421  Economy / Speculation / Re: Ethereum KILLING BITCOIN! on: August 15, 2014, 10:39:08 PM

Yeah this was funny as fuck when I originally read it, btw it's not a photoshop. I remember reading it in the official webpage. At least they were honest tho.
How do you guys know this is due Vitalika and friends dumping tho? Do you have any conclusive proof or just speculation?
422  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bought my first 0.1 BTC on: August 15, 2014, 10:27:12 PM
I remember I made my first 0.1 BTC off Dogecoins. I tried to buy more BTC with fiat, then used VirWox because it was a pain in the ass to get yourself verified in exchanges. I also wanted to avoid having to scan my ID or ridiculous shit along the lines. I have forgotten about exchanges as of now and im trying to hustle BTC with different ways. More difficult but less risky.
423  Economy / Speculation / Re: The final bear trap on: August 15, 2014, 10:25:01 PM
Going to position myself to catch coin at 350-400.

Correction will go steeper than most traders expect.

If I had spare FIAT this is the price range I would be thinking about to get some coins. Unfortunately I have to pay the bills.

425  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nothing to see here... on: August 15, 2014, 10:23:44 PM
Is it impossible to trace the movements of the IPO invested BTCs in ethereum to deduce if the price drop has anything to do? wasn't the address public for donations and IPO? you could see if they got sent to an exchang address or something, but of course these are generated randomly so we cant know ...
426  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Calling the Bottom on: August 15, 2014, 10:22:12 PM
Rpietila, wouldnt you agree that we need ebay in the game to reach 10k+ tier prices? Without it, most people will remain ignorant about Bitcoin. Once we see "pay with bitcoin" in ebay, then that's it, shit gets real the next day.
427  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is more Likely to happen the next couple of months ? on: August 15, 2014, 10:05:37 PM
All it takes is ebay to get in the game for once, everyone will be aware of the "pay with bitcoin" option and it will explode. This is personally for me the idea of how bitcoin will really take off, all kind of tv news ill ensue.
428  Economy / Speculation / Re: I am finished trying to to talk sense into some of you. on: August 15, 2014, 10:03:20 PM
Why would you leave now? Times like these are when I love reading this board.

Butter pecan please.

Kind of offtopic: But why you guys have different colours in the Legendary last half of a coin? you can choose the color?

PS: I want a vanilla icecream.
429  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin can go to a dollar for all I care! on: August 15, 2014, 10:01:24 PM
bitcoin will very likely drop to $1 in few months after the final capitulation

i hope you really "don't care" otherwise you might lose everything

i suggest you sell and cut loose

LOL. Strong nickname to post content correlation detected. Enjoy the FUD'ing guys.
430  Economy / Speculation / Re: I am done with Bitcoin! on: August 15, 2014, 10:00:23 PM
What we needs is merchants and ease of use, we need to make people stop seeing bitcoin as a speculation tool, otherwise it will never a currency, but more a sort of gold 2.0, which im ok with too, but its not as cool as calling it a digital currency and shopping with it.
431  Economy / Economics / Re: Does BTC.com Really Worth $1 Million? AND What Would You Do With it? on: August 15, 2014, 09:56:19 PM
They could do plenty of things with it, a exchange, news site, tutorials, faucets, whatever. Tons of content. BTC.com will easily be on top of the search engines.
432  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you really believe that Bitcoin will hit 1,000,000 on: August 15, 2014, 09:53:41 PM
I think the maximum might be 50k $.

Maximum? The Winklevoss twins' conservative estimate is that much...  Grin
http://www.coindesk.com/cameron-winklevoss-bitcoin-price-40k/

When does the Winklevii expect these prices and based on what? I want to hear all the details. I don't have the knowledge to analyze these claims, but 40k seems tons to be reached anytime soon or ever?
433  Economy / Economics / Re: [Flash Report] Bitcoin Challenges and What It Needs on: August 15, 2014, 09:47:48 PM
This is like the phone game, "professional trader X" tells "audience X" to SELL, then it keeps spreading, then "professional trader Y" tells "audience Y" that things are getting bullish because "professional trader Y" just bough a lot of cheap BTC and wants it to go up.

Then "superwhale Z" or unexpected news can fuck up "professional trader X" and their audience and "professional trader Y" and their audience by going both ways.

In other words: HODL
434  Economy / Economics / Re: Global Financial Crisis scenarios on: August 15, 2014, 09:43:57 PM
If I had to choose a potential result because of such scenareo, I wouldn't know, im divided between bitcoin crashing hard, as people would panic too much to even bother with it, and I also predict it going sky rocket mode, because maybe people on that panic scenareo get that "do what it takes" trigger activated and they all find about Bitcoin and put their assets there hoping they will survive.
435  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: August 15, 2014, 09:41:26 PM
Bitcoin has a lot more potential and you can make legitimate big gains if you know how to play the ups and downs. We are now in a down, play your cards and you may be victorious 6 month for now, or not.
436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wife is pregnant, how to incorporate bitcoin into the process? on: August 15, 2014, 09:39:26 PM
Learned that my wife is pregnant yesterday. This will be our first child. So how do I incorporate bitcoin into the process? I have bitcoins to spend.

Anyone got any clever ideas? This has potential.

I bought my son a Casascius coin. I keep it in a safe and I will give it to him when he turns 18. I also made him a wallet. I put something on it every now and then.

Very nice. Your son will be able to buy a mansion and a Ferrari by his 18th birthday, what a better present than that?  Cool

I'm sure he was referring to Satoshi logging into his old account at some foundation (I forget the name), to say he was not Dorian Nakamoto. I'm sure you can google it easily enough if interested. Of course some will say the account was hacked, but Occam's Razor says Satoshi was alive and well at that point, and had enough good will to want to get the jerk media off Dorian's back.

You may be talking about this:

What if that random japanese teacher guy was the true Nakamoto? I think he was the perfect character and how I imagine Nakamoto to be in person. Maybe the did this in purpose so when they forget about it they keep looking for him forever.
439  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The $100->$1200 BTC bubble! on: August 15, 2014, 09:35:22 PM
Bitcoin isn't an investment, it's a currency.
The most of people who are hoarding  BTC think it's an investment and are dreaming becoming millionaire one day!

Right, they are converting from one currency to another hoping that they will be able to convert back to the original currency at a much better exchange rate.  That's not investing, that's speculating.

If those people understood how the fiat scam works, and believed in Bitcoin, they wouldn't be interested in trying to accumulate fiat currencies.  They would be trying to escape from fiat currencies.

Most people are getting into BTC to make fiat and spend it on shit. What we need is merchants and ease of use of BTC. What we saw in the Tested video with the ATM is not a good advertisement. That needs to be fixed.
440  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you spending or hodling? (a poll to summarize previous threads) on: August 15, 2014, 09:26:05 PM
Im holding. How am I supossed to spend when I don't even own 0.5 yet :S
Once I have legit worth-holding-long-term stack I will start spending. Spending BTC and using it as a currency is basic if we want this to work, so if you have a lot of BTC, spend it.
