421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] SexCoin pool started | STRATUM only | 2% fee on: December 10, 2013, 09:13:37 PM
Can someone help a newbie out?

This will be the first coin I've mined, and I'd like to join this pool.

I've registered with the cryptominer.net/ site, and have my worker setup
I've created a Batch file with the following info in:

cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://sxc.cryptominer.net:3353 -u xxxxxxx -p workerpw -I xxxxxx AND -I 20 -g 1 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 35960
(xxxx's are my worker details)

But, once I run it, it flashes up, and instantly disappears.

Can someone tell me what I'm missing please, as I'd like to get my R9 290 Card working in this pool.

Cheers

I'm interested in putting 100 Euro into NXT, however I'm literally only in the early stages of alt-coins (building my first rig this week for Litecoins! et al.)

Consequently I've no Bitcoins (or others) yet to trade until my mining starts.

I would be willing to trade NXT for Paypal (using Masspay to avoid chargebacks), on small batches of 20 Euro per transaction (less if you prefer)....
I know I'm new to the forum, but I've been doing a lot of reading on various altcoins, and would like to start here with my actual investing, so, if anyone's interested in doing business, please let me know your offers.

Thanks Smiley

I'm personally just getting into mining (got my G9 290 setup arriving next week!)
However I've done a bit of reading on NXT these last few hours and it's certainly something I'd like to invest in once I get some coin under my belt (you can't mine these puppies!)
The only major issue I see, is that your "wallet" cab be brute force hacked - with no way of changing the password. So, if like me, you made your account with a limited digit password it's easily hackable, and the fact that you can't change the account password afterwards, to me, seems an obvious design oversight.
Yes, there's nothing to stop you opening a 2nd account, using a much better password and transferring the balance from the weak account to the strong account, but I would have thought this was an unnecessary extra step?
