430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: ***Pixelcoin Buy/Sell (PXL)*** Buy or sell a piece of internet history!! on: January 18, 2014, 07:51:05 PM
How much is this coin going for per 100?  I am seeing anywhere from .04 - .1 per 100, but i would like to know what people have been actually paying for it.

It appears to be quite difficult to mine out.

I sold shortly after I posted this thread @ .01btc/50pxl. Difficulty has continued to increase. Interest in the coin has continued to increase. I'm not locked in on a current valuation, but I'd say it certainly has gone up from .02/100. I'm not selling any more of my stock for less than .04/100.

Users: 838901608 and raistlinthewiz  -  Obviously the situation you're in right now really sucks. No one likes to hear about people getting scammed. I feel bad for you. However, I think everyone would appreciate if you guys could make the discussion private until additional information surfaces. If there's anything we can do as a community to help, please ask.

Oh snap. Block 15000 on noblepool.zapto.org!

9XUzqEKRg7Qq5oULDmxpKsmyzxAvrd3dR2

I'd like to make a 10k donation to the pool op out of my bonus - if that's possible.

Pool op here,
that would be great!

I'm loving that we are finally finding some of these rewards
-icecube45

P.M. Me and we can work out details, or I can just talk to rofo

Either is fine with me icecube - if they send it to me, I'll get an address from you to send the 10k. Otherwise rofo can send it straight to you. I have no problem with that.

How do I look up which blocks I have found?

If you're on an MPOS pool (most pools nowadays, it's the interface), you can check the "Blocks" section, and it will generally list the last 20 blocks found and who found it. Beyond those 20 blocks, I'm not really sure.
435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: ***Pixelcoin Buy/Sell (PXL)*** Buy or sell a piece of internet history!! on: January 17, 2014, 11:47:28 PM
WARNING!!!

Be vigilant when trade with user "raistlinthewiz",possibly scummer!

he made a offer of 4000pxl for 0.4btc and I agreed and sent 0.4btc to his address first. Then my PM to him has been BLOCKED by him. Now the btc transaction has more than 12 confirms...I get nothing.

Wow, really sorry to hear that - that's a big loss.

Please, please, please guys, use an escrow service or trade in increments if your counterparty does not have documented positive reputation!

I'll put it out there again. If anyone is looking for escrow service, I'm happy to help out for FREE if I'm around. Send me a PM. I know I haven't been on these forums for a long time, but you can check my rep thread for all positive feedback.

Whats wrong with the recaptcha? It is a safe addition to protect your accounts and coins on the pool so that the server doesn't get brute force to guess your account passwords.

I appreciate the added layer of protection, but it took me at least 4 attempts to decipher that captcha. Go go Gadget decoder ring!
439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: ***Pixelcoin Buy/Sell (PXL)*** Buy or sell a piece of internet history!! on: January 17, 2014, 03:58:41 AM
why does everyone jump to sell these coins so quick. If you hold of your sell orders you will build demand for the coin raising the price. If you fill the sheet with your sells as quick as possible you flood the market with the coin and the price goes down.

People have different time constraints, required returns, and expectations of how any given coin or market will react. Also, it's not presently possible to control the actions of everyone else and restrict economic free-flow of goods (maybe some coin will do this in the future?). With that said, these various constraints will cause users to monetize their positions from mining by selling the product they mined as quickly as possible. I think this is a GREAT coin and truly unique concept, but I still need to generate revenue from my mining activity, and can't speculate on the future value of this or any coin at the moment. I assume many other "miners" take a similar approach.

Can someone explain the current market rate? (0.01BTC = 25PX = 40,000 satoshi/PXL)

Let's say PXL has a market cap of $500K USD in the near future with total 2,073,000 PXL coin cap.

Each PXL would then be worth $0.24 USD or 28,750 satoshi (0.00028750 BTC/PXL). Now, this is based on an extremely optimistic outcome, good recognition by media, community, internet, etc. Most on CMC average $500K...

People are already trying to sell the coin 40,000 satoshi and the coin is 1 day old. There's a reason why no one is willing to accept your stupid sell offers

How'd you come up with a 500k USD market cap? I could just as easily assume it will be a 100MM USD market cap and have outrageous assumptions on valuation.

I think most people are basing their valuation on the goals set forth in the announcement of a concept comparable to the $1,000,000 dollar website of 2005. Marketing is a pretty big industry. Companies are willing to pay a lot of money each year through various advertising avenues. Owning PXL is effectively owning a piece of internet real-estate. You could even lease your pixel space out to companies if you wanted to (theoretically). I personally think PXL is worth far more than .4btc / 1000pxl, but that's the nature of the business we're in. You're free to buy pixel if you feel it is appropriately priced. Otherwise, you can pass. Up to you.
