Eliovp is Heliox.
Heliox is Eliovp. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) I think he uses Eliovp at his work PC. Hmm... Eliovp is ldw-com. ldw-com is Heliox. Heliox is Eliovp.![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fi0.kym-cdn.com%2Fphotos%2Fimages%2Fnewsfeed%2F000%2F531%2F557%2Fa88.jpg&t=663&c=AgQ6-EylJxAg0w) Haha Let me help I originally signed up here as Eliovp (basically my real name.. yeah.. now you all know..) back when i was 1 or 2 months active in this "scene". As Eliovp wasn't available on IRC, i thought, mm let's choose a "nickname", Heliox sounds ok, (Is a term used in the diving world, it's a mixture of Helium and Oxygen "i really don't dive..") So after that i registered on other forums as Heliox and on IRC it's also Heliox. I created a new bitcointalk account "Ldw-Com" for when i'm at my office, it's only being used on my system that's next to my miners. ldwcom is the name of my business. I hope i cleared that up for everyone ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Greetings!

let me guess: 1500-timings to 2000MHz-strap? ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Not really no ;-) Completely changed the memory block. I'll show a screenshot later :-) Well Eliovp, you've got the best result of RX 480 so far which I've seen. It'd be great if you could tell us about the version of that RX 480, your OS, the driver you're using and the ROM you're using at the moment. If you could share your other hardware configuration, then it'd be even better. ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) Sure. Here's a screenshot of the rom opened in PolarisEditor so you'll have an idea what i've done with the memory block. http://oi64.tinypic.com/24onigy.jpgIt's just a Reference Sapphire 480, Samsung 8GB memory (like almost all of them). OS = Windows 10 Pro Driver = 16.8.2 Rom = a new one ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Here you go ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Still running, took the screenshot pretty quickly because i was kind of happy haha.. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fi65.tinypic.com%2F25f7jpl.png&t=663&c=UTWE8QSTISqAAw) Let's see if i can break 34+ Mh :p you need to also put your PC environment, CPU, mobo, etc see if it throttles down like the previous lowenergy rom.... i am suspecting temps to be the culprit... you got to list down a checklist for the device signing thing because many members have some issues and cannot use the rom. I measured ATW, 0.58A, so 130watt. Did you see the temp? not going over 60 degrees mate ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) It's stable as a rock ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Eliovp.
You going to put out a new Win 7 guide on how to do ROMS? I have tried 5 or 6 times now and each time it f*cks up.
It may be my GPUs or Mobo tho. I kept having issues with gpu 1, and last night I switched gpu 1 and gpu 0 around for their PCI slots and now when I turn off AMD Crossfire I get a blank screen.
How to flash roms? Or how to mod roms? Sounds like a driver issue to me.. I assume this doesn't occur when running on a stock rom?

Finally found some time to play around some more. At this moment i'm around 31Mh while the gpu alone is consuming around 85watt (gpu-z), also measured ATW and got 0.59A, so here that's around 130watt. I have modded (480LowEnergyOK) my XFX rx480 8gb cards now and it works almost perfect. The first 1-2hours the cards stay at a stable 29mhash, then they will wobble between 24-27 mhash. I think it has something to do with the temp, but i can't see anything in gpu-z? (my onboard graphics control my screen) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fs16.postimg.io%2Fzfvryqecl%2Fno_temp_speed.jpg&t=663&c=uE1BmMlIuTEmaA) What is there to do? - Reinstalled the drivers, nothing - Did the Mod again, nothing Card is probably throttling because it gets to hot. Either you can increase the fan speed because it's only at 27%... You can lower the core clock/voltage, won't be needed though because it's most likely the fanspeed.. You can also open the rom in PolarisBiosEditor and change max temp to 85 or so. Further, that isn't normal. You should see your clocks and temp. Do you have onboard vga turned on and a monitor attached to that? Otherwise, yes, reinstall drivers. Greetings

Is traffic organic? why dont you park it at sedo or somewhere to earn revenue with this traffic? you said you dont have time to maintain it.what maintenance is required and how often
Traffic is organic yes, purely people searching for hardware comparison. I have no interest in parking the domain. I don't have time no, maintenance is not so heavy, but to have a valuable website, you should once in a while change some things, update, renew, etc.. The only thing that needs to be done right now is accepting submissions by users. So when a user submits hardware, you need to aprove it. Greetings!

So i added google analytics a few days ago. I only had google webmaster tools, so the information was not so perfect. Here are the details after a few days. Looking good if you ask me! thanks for the pointers Eliovp and jmumich -- will put this in the checklist.
Btw, Eliovp, your rom zip links seems bad, is there a folder in yoru website to download ROM files?
Link edited, should work now.

afaik the rated voltage for eg. samsung memory at 2000mhz is 1.35 volt.
Older gddr5 chips were normally 1.5 or even 1.6 volt.
So setting it to 800mv without crashing is a sure sign it doesn't work.
Which is a pitty because most performance could probably be squeezed by upping mvdd. (not vddci)
Yeah, I tested myself and I do believe you're correct. It does seem to work on Fiji, IIRC, but probably because HBM. Mentioned this a few times already, but i'll do it again ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Fiji and Those Lightning cards are the only ones capable of directly modifying the memory voltage (MVDDC or how it has been referred here "MVDD"). For every other card out there (i could have missed one or two) you can only raise or reduce the voltage given to the controller (VDDCI/AUX). This isn't even stock, to be able to do this, you'll need to add the needed offsets in the rom, therefor also needing to remove extra whitespace in the rom to get the exact same size again. Not only that, the tables in the rom have to be modified as well. i2cdump ... So basically, at this point, by opening polariseditor or wattman or whatever, and changing the voltage value next to the memory is not going to apply directly to the memory, but to the controller, so basically, giving that controller extra voltage does not affect your memory directly as that memory isn't getting extra voltage. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Hi Guys need your help.
I finally got some time to get this mod on my Sapphire RX480s 8GB.
Reading this thread from the beginning and looking for that stuff that I would need to put on a thumbdrive is really challenging because there are so many variations of the mod type, scenarios...
I am not being lazy to go dig the necessary files but need to do the new mods fast because the power bill is killing me.
Can help me with links to the following?
1. LOW POWER MOD - I think Heliox final mod got this to about 29 MHs. 2. Latest "atiflash" - I believe Heliox mentioned that he used this latest util 3. Bypassing the windows 10 signature checks. My RX480s are on Win 7 and Win10. 4. Did I miss any other file or steps?
Thanks guys - appreciate it.
Citronick, 1. Here2. Atiflash Polaris3. I believe i posted it somewhere, a step by step that works perfectly, i however am at this moment to lazy to go and find it :p 4. Nope, that should do it ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Greetings!

For Windows 10 users, you can do this: i) Press Windows Key + X to open Power User Menu. Select Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu. ii) Once the Command Prompt open, enter bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS and press Enter. Then enter bcdedit.exe -set TESTSIGNING ON and press Enter. iii) Close Command Prompt and restart your PC. If this fails for some reason, you can reboot with Signature checks disabled by rebooting into advanced options (Hold left shift key while hitting reboot button) and hit F7. You need to copy the modified atikmdag.sys file into your drivers folder as well (C:/Windows/System32/Drivers) File can be found here: HereI have just bought one reference RX480, flashed mod bios, with stock driver I get Error 43 in device manager. If I replace atikmdag.sys with the modified one, I get Error 31 in device manager. "bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS" and "bcdedit.exe -set TESTSIGNING" are done, both windows installations are in testing mode. Tried both Win7 and Win10, original drivers 16.7.3 and 16.8.2, result is the same. Boot windows Install driver go to device manager, right click on your gpu, disable it. reboot to safe mode replace atikmdag.sys open the signing tool " http://www.ngohq.com/?page=dseo" and sign that file. open admin cmd window and type "bcded /set TESTSIGNING on" reboot Device manager, enable GPU again. Done. Does it apply to Windows 10 as well? Should we enter the test mode? I only have Windows 8.1. So I might have to wait for the 8.1 drivers. Applies to 10 as well.
