Most of these games that they call PvP aren't really that. A PvP game should test your skill against someone else. If you both play dice and the one who rolls higher wins it's not really a PVP but normal dice with an additional handicap that lowers your probability of winning for every player at the table, but also increases your win. It's pretty much the same as if you'd lower your odds from 50% to 25% and roll like that. You get lower chance of winning and higher reward. I'd like to see a real PvP game in a casino, like a puzzle game, or a pinball, or some kind of tug of war.
It seems you have different meaning of what is PvP game. As far as I understand, as long as you are playing against other player, it is called by PvP game as PvP stands for Player Vs. Player. No matter what kind of game which is played, it is real PvP game. Even pinball as of the PvP game you want to see is not completely skill based game especially when it comes to online casino. You make a good point that PvP means player vs player, so any game where you go up against another person counts. But I think there's a difference between games about skill and games about luck. It's not like there's an official rule for what makes something a real PvP game. Some folks might call anything you play against others PvP, even if skill isnt really involved. But in my opinion, true PvP games test your abilities. Luck comes into play of course, but ultimately it's about who plays better, not just getting good rolls. Games like chess come to mind - no randomness, just head to head competition. Meanwhile, something like poker has huge elements of chance. Sure there's strategy in bluffing and reading people. But you can make all the perfect moves and still lose because you got crap cards. So I guess it comes down to where you draw the line.

There seems to be a problem with the color scheme. The data is there, but it blends in with the black background. Try downloading the SVG graphic and converting it to PNG or JPEG format locally. Or, you can use the clipping and screenshot tool to capture the graph. At least until TryNinja fixes the problem on the site.

I was quite surprised because the bitcoin discussion board which usually had lots of comments suddenly became quiet
Total number of posts in Bitcoin Discussion board (including child boards) in the first week of the year: 2022 => Total results: 1,683 2023 => Total results: 2,287 2024 => Total results: 2,088 source: https://ninjastic.space/I'm not sure on what basis you conclude that the board "suddenly became quiet", but the numbers certainly don't show that. What am I missing?

Just because we got a big spike in Bitcoin's price doesn't automatically mean a full-blown bull run is starting. I know we all wanna believe the halving heralds a new era of prosperity, but stuff's more complicated than that. The whole market is temperamental and you never know whatll set things off. Yeah, the last couple halvings sparked epic climbs eventually. But the timings not always perfect.
So this rally might just fizzle out for all we know. I'd tell folks don't assume your bitcoins gonna make you a millionaire anytime soon. Just don't wanna see people make crazy bets then end up overexposed if things swing back down again.

This area of the forum never ceases to amaze me. You registered in 2015 and you ask for crappy $6 on a loan?
Of course, if someone lends them to you they don't have much to lose, but seeing how infrequently you post on the forum you don't give confidence that you can disappear and not come back here.
This request is really odd! The amount is so small that it doesn't make any sense. Could the OP really be that poor? But still, when you think about the reason for the loan, it's even crazier. Buying cigars isn't exactly essential. Maybe he's just trying to buy some more green trust on his profile.

Would like suggestions from co members which will be helpful for whole of the community to get tips to get few merit points
I don't think merit points are your biggest concern. Your reputation is tarnished, and your account has been tagged due to your association with the scammer and your involvement in promoting the "unnamed.exchange" scam. I doubt there are many campaign managers (if any) who would hire a member with your history.

You have not provided any evidence for my lack of education. Go away.
He doesn't have to. You have already provided more than enough evidence yourself. Your communication skills are so lacking, I'm starting to question whether you even have a high school diploma, let alone a Ph.D.

You are a nasty creep.
That's just plain wrong. Vod is OG, but he is definitely not a "nasty OG". Or vice versa. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

A skilled copywriter will easily "tweak" the text so that it looks more like it was written by a human. Honestly, that's what it looks like the most to me.
This also could be the case. But if the author is going through the trouble of doing some re-writing, that's OK with me personally, as it means they at least put some thought & time into it. If just one or two words are changed, they add the words "I personally believe" at the beginning, or they add extra punctuation or something cheesy, that's still bad. This technology's just going to keep affecting things more and more. The quality of content on forums and such is gonna change big time as these generative AIs evolve and get better, and they will. AI detection tools catching bot writing already proven unreliable by giving false positive results. Plus there's already tools rewriting bot posts so they'll trick AI detection. Not sure how we actually stop this down the road.

This could possibly have some connection to my involuntary hobby-horse.
what if i told you ayres knows CSW is not satoshi, but wants to keep the rouse alive because he had invested so much into CSW in earlier years <snip> I kind of like the sound of that... Ayre wasting his own money to indirectly make our stash a little more valuable. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

Any known incidents, where someone got banned because of changed Mixer rules?
I assume that all mixer-run accounts are already put into PM-only-mode, so they are effectively banned from creating new posts and threads on the forum. As for whether someone has already been banned for violating the new rules, I think it is too early for such a thing.

Does anybody leave a percentage of their BTC on the exchanges, or do you guys store all your BTC in your wallets, etc?
Keeping all your coins on an exchange is kinda asking for trouble. Exchanges get hacked and stuff gets stolen more often than people realize. Use exchanges to buy and sell coins when you need, but don't treat them like banks. Keep most of your holdings in a separate wallet that you control and that way your nest egg is safer if the exchange goes belly-up. Exchanges are handy tools but they aren't meant for storage. Use a secure wallet for that. Transfer just what you need to the exchange when it's time to trade. That's the smart way to go about it. Minimizes your risks. Keep the core stash safe in your own wallet that only you control. I have a Trezor still sealed in the box, but I admit I'm intimidated in learning how to use it. Is ColdCard easier, or are they equal?
Why would you even consider another hardware wallet if you haven't even tried the one you already have? What's stopping you from using your Trezor hardware that you already own right now?

That's an interesting premise you've got there, OP! Using QR codes can definitely make sharing your Bitcoin address more convenient. However, we gotta be real careful about security stuff when doing this. Some of those third-party services that generate QR codes could actually be malicious or vulnerable to malware attacks. Hackers might use malware to intercept the address and change it and then if someone scans your code, their Bitcoin could get sent to the hacker instead of you!
I'd say your best bet is to find a good open-source QR generator that works offline. Those don't connect to the internet so it's way harder for hackers to get in there and pull anything sketchy. And that way, you don't have to give your address away to some third-party server or company you don't know. But even then, you have to be careful about clipboard malware that can change your address when copying and pasting.
And a lot of crypto wallets and exchanges actually let you make QR codes right in the app. Since thats like their whole deal those built-in tools tend to be pretty secure for sharing your address. Might be easier than finding a third-party generator anyway.
So yeah, just gotta watch your back with this stuff.

is it advisable to merit the post(s) of a user(s) that have been inactive for a long interval of time considering the fact that they made Meritable posts?
I don't see why not. Users who posted helpful information in the past should still be credited for their contributions, even if they haven't been active recently. Just 'cause someone takes a break doesn't negate the fact that what they shared before was useful and people might still be getting good info from their old posts. Makes sense to me to keep showing them appreciation with merits - keeps things fair for users who gave their time to contribute good stuff here.

I get you're frustrated, OP, but let's keep some perspective here. 24 hours isn't so long in the grand scheme of things. Large withdrawals like yours often trigger extra verification to prevent fraud. Annoying yes, but casinos just watching their back.
I'd just wait and give their customer support a little more time to sort this out before getting too bent out of shape and I'm confident they'll come through within a reasonable timeframe. Getting riled up right now probably wont help move things along.

Anybody compiling any stats about how this change has already effected the community? I'm curious if the amount of posts per day is down at all. [cut]
I guess the typical number of posts per day or week won't change that much, long as stuff like Bitvest and Eloncoin campaigns keeps going. Those reward up to 60 posts per week! There might be a little drop off, but probably not significantly. All participants doing the mixer campaigns seemed active and engaged posters. So they shouldn't have trouble getting into new signature campaigns if they ain't already. As for other impacts, hard to say just yet. Too early to make any real judgements on that.

ColdLava40, this place isn't your average blog or social media platform. This is an online forum, a platform for discussions. People here view newcomers with suspicion - especially folks who write essays right out the gate. Can't say I blame them and most rookies come in guns blazing, trying to promote themselves or make a quick buck. Not saying thats you. Just explaining the mentality. Cut us some slack. Everyone has the right to an opinion, even if they are wrong sometimes. Once you prove you're here to contribute meaningfully, attitudes will thaw. Till then keep your posts short and sweet. Earn trust slowly. No need to pour your heart out day one.

Someone took a dump? I was hoping to find the reason here ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) This could be it: Matrixport's latest report suggests that the SEC will likely reject all proposed Bitcoin spot ETFs in January, with final approval potentially granted in Q2.

What new changes would you like to see on Bitcointalk in 2024 ? Or do you like the forum exactly as it is?
I would be looking out for an alternative way of supporting those creating an engaging topic on the board that might not be merited yet. Like, setting up a default system that can automatically merit a conversation that has up to an 100 replies with say 5 to 10 merit. Threads with that many replies yet lacking even a handful of merits from users might not have been worth awarding merits in the first place. Take, for example, the Bounty (Altcoins) section. Many threads there have more than 100 replies, none of which contribute anything valuable to the forum or deserve merit. Why would you advocate for a system that automatically rewards such unproductive threads?

Tablica je ažurirana. Sve mixer kampanje su prebačene u HOLD/ENDED kategoriju (s cenzuriranim nazivima). BK8 signature campaign je također pauzirana do daljnjeg. U trenutno aktivnim kampanjama imamo nekoliko slobodnih pozicija: - Shuffle.com kampanja prima tri nova Hero člana.
3 Hero Members have been removed. We have open slots now.
Feel free to apply. If you are a Legendary but want to take Hero Member slot, mention it in the application.
- LiveCasino.io kampanja je i dalje "OPEN" ali prihvat novih članova nije garantiran.
No new additions this week. Campaign is still open for another week, we may select more people or not, still deciding. Do not apply again if you already applied last week.
- COINS.GAME kampanja bi trebala biti otvorena za još tri Sr. Member člana budući da je Hero Member pozicija već popunjena.
We have 1x Hero and 3x Sr Member slots. Feel free to apply now.
