Dev or anyone really, with POS am i right in thinking that what ever machine your wallet is on, that machine would have to be running 24/7 for POS to be active? because it only works if you connected to the network? so for holding would having your zeit wallet on a rig make the most sense? just trying to get a better understanding! also seems like the rich will just keep getting richer hmm
Running 24/7 would be best that means any time new coins hit your wallet you won't have to wait until next time it opens for the chain to recognize it. Running on your rig is a good idea as long as you have remote access to it allows for easier access overall. One thing to think of at 4 Satoshi buy as well you could get a tonne of them for not alot of btc and hold and gain interest another question, you only earn interest on coins that have been in your wallet 20days+ right? so if you move them to say another wallet you have to wait for another 20days before they start getting interest? and then as you mine new coins those will have to wait 20days also? eventually there will be a point where you interest will gain day by day till u stop mining?....do you earn interest on the coins you have earned from interest?...wow all coins are treated equally, you dont need to leave your wallet open, you earn based on coin-age over 20 days, so you can open your wallet every 20days and generate PoS blocks then. |

normally I only mine coins hold for a while and then sell....been mining Zeit since launch and i'm gonna buy a couple mil as well......hopefully I can get some at 4sat or lower!!!!! did the same with mint and made out like a bandit

does that mean we need to update our wallets? including pools and exchanges to prevent a fork? No no this was done pre launch dont worry does not affect anything if there is going to be a new wallet build soon, i have 2 requests address checksum should include the coin name this way we can know if we are sending to a non zeitcoin address a simple warning would do, with the ability to continue anyway in case its a legacy zeitcoin address add an option to clear the command history in the console its a vulnerability to have my passphrase in cleartext in the command history we need to innovate if we really want to see this coin succeed thank you i could do this myself but im not familiar with the wallet code and my priority are set on something else that might be useful to this coins main purpose |

Do I have to keep wallet running for POS to work?
Atm I have it encrypted and the wallet NOT running. If I were to come back to it in 20 days & use walletpassphrase to unlock would the POS still work??
yes, as long as you run your wallet unlocked at some point after accumulating 20 coin-days you will generate a PoS block, this will make your balance unavailable until that block is confirmed, 30 minutes i believe. How can i unlock my wallet? (windows wallet) go to help menu, debug window, go to console tab walletpassphrase YOURPASWORD 9999999 true I get a "Method Not Found (code - 32601)" message and the wallet does not unlock What am i doing wrong? ok, managed to do it. The error was missing quotation marks in password for anyone might interested on how to unlock the wallet, follow the instructions above and put: walletpassphrase "yourpasswordhere" 999999999 true (put your password inside quotation marks) Thanks i did not need the quotes, are you sure you hadn't just mistyped the command? the internet says that error is due to mistake in command or extra spaces |

its called Proof-of-Stake, a way to protect the network without needing ever increasing amounts of hashrate.
the interest rate is really just a target, your creating blocks with PoS and for that you are rewarded.
allot of people must believe this will go somewhere, its not profitable enough at the moment to warrant 11Gh/s with dump as you mine

What will happen after coin will hit 1 coin per block reward?
the network hashrate will drop to the point of equilibrium between difficulty and value this wont matter that much since you would need > 51% of coins and network hashrate to perform an attack, so the coin is secure even if network hashrate drops to 100MH/s another thing is that wallets with coins that have 20 coin-age days will generate Proof-of-Stake blocks, this is targeted to increase supply by 25% the first year Lost me there, can you give some examples on what will be with coins sitting in the wallet for 20+ days? 1 million ZEIT having sit for 20days would generate 13698.6 new coins, and the coin-age would be reset 25%/year is 0.0685%/day |
